what video game do you think has the coolest lighting?

*maniac laughing from the other room because now i can yell about lighting*

strap in kids this ones long and boring >:)

SO what remains of edith finch, that video game from like 2017 i never shut up about, has some of The Best semirealistic indoor lighting ever ever ever!! it nails the little dust motes and the maximalist feel and the vibe that hey you're stepping back in time as you enter this house.

i'd say this one hits both indoor and outdoor lighting pretty well, but every time i open my mouth to say that i remember this One Specific Part of the house.

eesh. look at the nonexistent texture on that wood and plaster. every time i replay this game i notice it. and now you notice it. sorry not sorry.

but the thing about "lighting" is that people automatically think of 3d/realistic/semirealistic games. i am breaking this stereotype effective immediately.

game 2 i never shut up about:

okay so the thing about this one is it isnt necessarily realistic, just god damn Gorgeous. and if youve ever listened to me talk about video games for longer than 3 seconds you Know how much i appreciate reflections. like its not As impressive in this game because its 2d (who am i kidding yes it is) and i have Affection for game devs who dont just go "ok waters blurry no reflection. time to crack the mirror so that nobody can see themself. this glass is. Dusty. no reflection for u <3" (that last one is specifically directed at giant sparrow, makers of edith finch. show me my girl you fucking cowards)

firewatch (THIS ONE takes the award for best outdoor lighting)

oxenfree (another 2d game that is very pretty)

slime rancher (this one is cute but everything focuses on the slimes and so the environment is pretty but very bare. hoping slime rancher 2 is better but honestly im just happy we get another)

i dont pay attention to fnaf lore but whatever the hell baby has going on in sister location is fuckin sick. anyway

favorite fnaf game: unironically security breach. i cant do horror i need a friend (<- why i would never play phasmophobia solo i think id cry). freddy is my dad and i love him. he is simply big bear trying to make things better for one little kid. also hes gay and trans hope this helps

okay jokes aside heres my actual thoughts on security breach

the glitches and bugs dont bother me. i think fnaf:sb was a good idea that was given not enough time and not enough money and not enough direction.

i think changing the animatronic teleportation mechanics (when you call freddy and when the security bots catch you and call the other animatronics) would do the game a world of good in fixing some of the bugs.

i think they should put chica's feeding frenzy and the full monty golf minigame in the game because they're literally practically done! (the only hole in monty golf that isnt done is hole #6 and all it needs is color and texture Come On people)

i think they should finish the go-kart minigame (its. kinda there? the collision physics are fucky. if you bump into something you go Flying) and i think they should add back the bonnie bowl minigame. also possibly add bonnie. thats not necessary tho its just never clear what happens to him theres like 8 different possibilities

so there are a ton of unused maps in the game files (its huge for a damn Reason) and here are a couple of them i want Back:

- the utility tunnels. they have cute graphics in them and itd be so much easier to get around the pizzaplex is a Maze

-the cut roxy raceway was so much prettier than the new roxy raceway wtf bring her back :(

-did you know around 30% (smth like that) of rockstar row is cut?? theres a backstage area behind one of the unopenable doors and okay ill have to get a picture

- i am going to kill.

they should fix the cant-save-after-6 and make it so you Can, but only at one specific save point.

okay okay okay okay im done but oh my GOD i like security breach i just. they could do better. i believe in them.

How do you feel about Inscryption? I really wanna play it sometime but I'm waiting till we have a bit more money for it. -Moon

okay i didnt play it i watched mr. iplier, BUT i liked the beginning with that weirdo dude who looks like a hobo. him (affectionate). i started to lose track of the plotline a little bit after that but the beginning card game was super entertaining as soon as i got a handle on the rules and how everything worked.

i prefer games that you can move around in like fnaf:sb (NOT regular fnaf. the first three are glorified point and click games and i think Some People should remember that. i have fnaf opinions that i would be happy to yell abt but Anyway)

yeah so inscryption in my mind has a weird mix of fnaf 4, the old pokemon games for the ds, and like. fuckinf. alchemist simulator. idk what that game is actually called lmao. but i say get it! come back! tell me All abt it. mhmhmhm
