Watching a video essay that points out that the pre-rendered CG scene of the nautiloid snatching up people…. Only makes sense with the Early Access version of the story with the mindflayers not being linked to the dead three and makes no sense in the version we have where Baldur’s Gate wasn’t razed and the mindflayer plot is still secret.

(It also makes it make no sense that Astarion was taken at all - unlike everybody else there’s no reason and they didn’t snatch random people from the gate.)
