WEEK 7 - MANUAL DESIGN TECHNIQUES📝🖊️🌟 (Part 3)

- On Wednesday and Thursday we had a guest lecturer teach us how to do Calligraphy, Kirigami and Mandala.

On Wednesday he taught us about calligraphy and the different font styles that we could play around and write with. The pens and brushes in the picture below are all the tools that our lecturer uses for his calligraphy work It’s impressive!🌟👄🌟🖊️

He gave us this fonts sheet and a Tamil calligraphy book for us to use in our own time

I was very well invested in the Gothic style font to write my name in. It just seems fit to write with for ‘Maria’

This is my attempt at calligraphy! After writing my name English with the Gothic font, I thought it would be cool to try and write my name with the same font in Sinhala!

These are some of the calligraphy work we did for the day. (The nicely written Calligraphy was done by our lecturer btw)

After our calligraphy introduction session he asked us to use an A4 cardboard to write our name in a unique way and cut it out in a nice pattern maybe for a lantern or t-shirt design. This is what I designed! (i admit that I should’ve made the letters a bit more thicker but other than this I’m happy with the final results. Took me hours to do the cutout😭💔)

- That’s a wrap on Wednesday’s work. Next up is Thursday’s paper craft session!

- If I’m being honest, Thursday was not much of an engagement session. Don’t get me wrong! Learning Kirigami and Mandala was fun, but Wednesday was much more engaging and fun.

heyo!!! do you have any good fic recs (cc or klaine either’s fine) where there’s a lot of communication sexually? i feel like i never see that anywhere and i kinda wanna see it written somewhere

Hi!! 

For Klaine, I can definitely recommend Fade to Black - JudeAraya (NC-17). It deals with intimacy and sexuality very deeply, and gets pretty angsty at times, but is really good. 

Another one is Motel Story - Rainjoy (NC-17). This one chronicles Kurt and Blaine’s first time and is so, so funny and so very klaine. Literally anything by Rainjoy is genius. 

For CC, I reckon Love and Affection - The Cimmerians (NC-17). It involves a lot of sorting-out-feelings-through-sex, and is amazingly written. There’s not so much communication, but definitely explores the different levels of sexual intimacy.

Up In The Mountains…

remember when blaine and kurt made eye contact in beauty school dropout? blaine got nervous or whatever but he had nothing to worry about bc he looked SO HOT and his voice was like SILK

AHH!!! okay so a number of things about this scene:

1. IMO, this is one of the most heartbreaking moments in Glee. That double take when Blaine sees Kurt in the audience? Heartbreaking. 

There was so much pain in that one single glance. 

2. Blaine actually looked like an angel. 

The white on white and the white background all make it seem like he actually dropped down from heaven. 

3. KURT. Kurt looked so devastated. You can practically see his inner turmoil as his heart knows that this Blaine singing on stage is his Blaine, the one he lost, whereas his head is reminding him how he’s been hurt.

as weird as that scene where blaine was trying to teach kurt how to be sexy was, i really wish someone cared about me that much to say in such a soft voice “well maybe we should talk about it” gosh i’m swooning

let’s be honest, I think we all need a Blaine Anderson to make us swoon for the rest of out lives. 

and notice how he doesn’t find Kurt’s insecurities amusing, but endearing? and how he’s completely open, without a trace of awkwardness, to make everything the least uncomfortable for kurt as possible?

and okay, this was sort of out of order, but shows that even though Blaine is a little impulsive and might think certain situations are a good idea when they’re really not, it shows how much he cares. 

So, conclusion, yes we all need a Blaine to our Kurt, and I’m sure you’ll find one!

my favorite thing is when people zoom in on the gifs of d/c touching each other and have a close up on their hands i love it

Body Language, am I right!! 

The way people touch each other is such a clear indicator of their true intentions/feelings. Body language is how you tell if someone is lying, if someone is uncomfortable, if someone’s attracted to another person…

Here are some gifs that I literally found within two minutes, which illustrate the point:

Omg one thing i just noticed from the Ellen Gif is that u can see D’s hands literally tense up when Chor speaks!

Yup. His entire body literally stiffens as soon as he realises what Chord is saying. Notice the sharp inhalation of breath? And Lea and Jenna’s smiles and Chris’ dagger eyes?

I mean, it’s one thing to go to pride when you KNOW exactly how harmful you’ve been to certain members of the LGBTQ community, but to go dressed like a someone ate a bag of 90s candy and then threw up??

Utterly classless. I’m bi and I’m all for allies supporting pride, but they have no right to the name ‘ally’ whatsoever. 

It’s insulting, and I hate that she and her co-beard treat this incredibly important occasion as a fucking dress-up party.

So earlier today, Darren went to an event hosted by Variety. 

Then this video surfaced. While other celebs doodled a bit, he literally defaced a picture of he and M. (If the fact that they included her doesn’t scream desperate, I don’t know what does.)

Anyway, along with that, he wrote IDGAF alongside himself, saying "I’m adding what I am on the inside. I’m adding my true self.“ 

I’m sorry, but what S.O. would add IDGAF next to a couple picture? One who literally does not give a fuck about her, or their relationship, that’s who. 

His message is pretty damn clear, I reckon.

what’s important about somewhere only we know??

Well personally, I adore the way Darren sounds on it, and it never fails to make me cry, but also the fact that it’s highly correlated to Chris and Klaine. 

To my knowledge he’s only ever performed it once outside the show, on Rolling Stone, and this makes me wonder exactly why he’s choosing to perform it now. 

Especially when it matches his voice so well, and could always be in his repertoire alongside Teenage Dream and Hopelessly Devoted. 

I’m being obnoxious, but I really think this song could be close to his heart. Also notice the placement- it’s second to last. Could be a message there, who knows?
