idk why I’m doing this to myself but I started plotting an au centered around keir so I downloaded pdf versions of the last three books and used the search to pull up every mention of his name from MAF on. he was mentioned/named a total of 176 times (most of that in WAR and most of that was because of the darkbringers) and I think I’m coming out as a keir-sympathizer cause bro wtf were all of these scenes??? if I had to watch a couple fuck in front of me without control of my own body I would hate those people too

#aside from that bit with thanatos and his daughter keir could actually be read as a sympathetic character #but because our perception is colored by feyre’s unreliability as a narrator #and the fact it’s been revealed mor wasn’t entirely honest about what happened to her that brings the whole situation into a murky #kind of grey area now I don’t doubt the nail thing (kinda sorta it’s complicated tbh) but it does make me wonder how truthful she was about #life in the hewn city and how much of a mask the city puts on for rhysand that same way he does when he deigns to visit what is supposedly #his ancestral home (and how closely he and mor are related but that’s a separate rant)#idk there’s just a lot of unanswered questions I have around keir and his place in the night court and I don’t think him getting the #‘evil for evils sake all i want is power and idc how i get it’ brush is fair to him or an example of good or nuanced storytelling #(not that I ever expect that from sjm but the point still stands)#anti rhysand #anti night court #just for good measure this is really just supposed to be me talking to myself #gold talks.tag
