A Matty Healy Fanfic
Chapter 15
I was watching the clock anxiously at my studio as I tried to finish up my last piece before Matty arrived. He always showed up earlier than planned, which I loved him for, but I'd been running super behind today since we left my place late this morning.
It was Friday, about a week and a half after we'd finally said I love you to each other on Matty's patio. Our last few days had been a precarious balancing act of working while also trying to jam-pack in as much time together as possible. Every moment one of us wasn't working, we spent at each other's side.
About 10 minutes before we had planned on meeting, my phone lit up with a text message.
Just outside! - x
I hopped up from my workbench, hands coated in wet clay, and rushed down the hallway. I was wearing dirty white overalls that were caked in old layers of dry clay and glaze, with a plain black sports bra underneath to help combat the lack of air-conditioning in the studio. I had a bandana tied around my hair to keep it from getting too dirty, and a pair of beat-up Asics that were almost as dirty as my overalls.
Using my butt to avoid getting clay on the push bar of the door, I opened the back door to the studio backwards. Matty gave me no time to react as he came up to me, pushing me gently against the door I'd swung open, and kissing me urgently. I kissed him back, melting into his touch, a feeling of relief sweeping through my body from our reunion. Forgetting about the wet clay, I held his face in my dirty hands as we kissed, and he only kissed me deeper at this, wrapping his arms around me tightly.
"I missed you," Matty said softly as we pulled apart a few minutes later, leaning his forehead against mine.
"I missed you too, babe," I said breathlessly, before opening my eyes and realizing I'd dirtied his face. "Oh no, Matty. I'm so sorry," I said, looking down at my hands, then up at his now clay-coated cheeks. I almost didn't feel bad- he looked so adorable.
"I don't mind," he smiled at me. "I love your little dirty hands," he said, interlacing his fingers with one of my hands and kissing the back of it, covering his lips in more clay. We smiled and laughed together at his now dirty lips as we turned to walk back into the studio together hand in hand.
As we stepped into the hot studio, Matty casually pulled off his crewneck and tossed it onto the studio couch like it was a second home, before walking over to the giant sink to rinse off his face. I loved seeing him so comfortable in my space- it made me feel more connected to him.
Underneath, he wore a black fitted ribbed tank top with a pair of dark blue slacks and Doc Marten dress shoes. I sat back down at my workbench, and as I watched him wash up, I admired his strong arms- his large biceps flexing as he brought his hands to his face. Then I noticed something on the top of his arm.
"Hey, what's that?" I asked, standing up. He looked at me, water dripping from his open mouth in question. I stepped over to him, tracing my hand around the transparent square sticker.
"Oh... umm, well... It's a nicotine patch," he said apprehensively.
"You're quitting?" I asked in shock.
"Well, I've been trying to," he answered, averting his eyes.
"For how long?" I demanded.
He finally looked up at me, eyes nervous. "Since that day on the patio... I didn't want to say anything because I was worried I wouldn't be able to stick with it. I didn't want to disappoint you if I gave up... but I've been doing really well so far- I've gotten it down to only one cigarette a day!"
I looked into his wide hopeful eyes that searched for my approval. "But... but why did you quit? You love smoking!" I asked in confusion.
He took my dirty hand once again, nervously fiddling with the bits of clay that had dried.
"I didn't want to be a hypocrite..." he said, and that's when it hit me. He continued, "It's not fair for me to tell you not to smoke when I do it every day. So I quit." he said, his eyes earnest.
"You... you quit... for me?" I pieced together, perplexed.
Then he smiled at me, shaking his head, "You still don't believe it, do you? When I say I'd do anything for you, I really mean it. You're worth much more to me than some filthy habit like smoking."
I was so touched. I froze in place, taking in his words, my face breaking into a sad smile. I couldn't believe he would do that for me... and yet, of course, he would. He was my Matty, after all.
He kissed my cheek lightly before guiding me back to my workbench. "So what have you been working on today? Is this the new piece you were telling me about?" he asked as he analyzed the abstract shape on the table.
I quickly gathered myself, my stomach still fluttering from what he said before. "Yes! This is it. It's not even close to being done, so keep that in mind... But I still have to work on it a bit more today before we leave, I hope that's okay."
He put his arm around me, giving me a squeeze as he kissed my temple. "Of course it's okay. I think it's brilliant. Take your time, darling." He said before walking over to the couch, once again making himself at home, and picking up the acoustic guitar that he'd brought last week to busy himself with whenever he came to visit.
For the next half hour, I worked on my piece as Matty played his guitar, strumming soothing patterns and humming various melodies over them. Occasionally a line or two would slip out, and I'd turn to smile at him because I knew he was singing them to me.
As I moved my piece over to the drying rack, Matty stopped strumming. "I started writing a song about you today," he said suddenly.
I looked over at him, dumbfounded. His body language was bashful, but his eyes were lit up with intensity.
"Me?" I asked timidly.
Matty nodded with a smile, patting the cushion next to him on the couch invitingly.
I walked over and sat down. He placed a swift kiss on my cheek before turning back to his guitar. Began to strum a little progression, and then he started to sing:
youtube
(if anyone's interested in how the song actually sounds, I posted a recording here! ^)
"I've been waiting for too long for you to come home
In my arms, in my embrace,
I save the taste no toothpaste can erase.
Is this love? Is this real?
'cause I cannot explain just how it feels
To be so understood, to be loved the way you deserve.
In this meta world, where nothing's real and neither am I,
There's a broken girl,
She means the world to me
She's my prophet and my prophecy
And I'll follow her to the end of the earth
If that's what she wants
'cause for her I'd do anything
I'd do anything
Anything at all
Anything at all."
My stomach fluttered from a million butterflies. I felt my face flush with heat. Tears welled, and I fought them back as I tried to put into words how I felt. I was too flattered, too speechless to say anything. He looked up at me from his guitar expectantly, waiting for me to say something. I wiggled myself up close to him and put my arms around his torso, nuzzling my head into the crook of his neck.
"Matty..."  I whispered.
"Yes, darling?" He replied softly.
"That was so beautiful..." I said. I sat there quietly, soaking in the feeling of his song. "No one's ever written a song about me before... Or said something so beautiful about me... I... I don't know what to say..." I said quietly as a single tear escaped.
He put his guitar on the couch next to him and turned to pull me gently into his arms. I lay my head against his chest as he ran his fingers through my hair.
"Well, you better get used to it," he said softly, "because I have a million more to write about you."
"Matty..." I said wistfully. "You make me feel so special."
"Good," he said. I could hear the smile in his voice. "I'm glad you're beginning to feel what you truly are. It's about time, too," he said, lightly bouncing me in his lap for emphasis.
I smiled into his chest, breathing in his warm spicy scent. As I exhaled I felt his love spread through my whole body, right to the ends of my fingertips, relaxing me into a less overwhelmed state.
"Has anyone else heard it?" I asked curiously.
"Just the boys- I was showing them at the studio today actually," he said, matter-of-factly.
"Do you think they'll like me?" I asked nervously. Tonight was the night of the big tour sendoff party that George had invited me to last week. I'd been feeling anxious about it ever since, and today was no different.
"I'm more concerned with whether you'll like them or not honestly- I could care less what they think," he said huffily, looking very stubborn.
I sat upright, giving him a stern look before he backpedalled.
"Well, okay fine, that's not really true... but I honestly can't see any of you not liking each other. They're all proper good blokes, you'll love them. George already adores you, which is a bit annoying, but fair to him... and Ross and Hann have been buzzing to meet you."
My nerves settled slightly at this, and I glanced over at the clock on the wall. We still needed to go back to my place so I could change before heading over to the party, but I wasn't ready to leave yet. I knew Matty wasn't either.
"Will you play it for me again? Please?" I asked with a small smile.
Matty smiled at me warmly. He brushed his lips against mine lightly, sending tingles down my spine before saying, "A thousand times, if you'd like," then kissed me fully, whisking me away into a spiral of love and happiness.

Fortune Business Insights™ presents this information in a report titled, "Global Sports Apparel Market, 2023-2030."
LIST OF KEY COMPANIES PROFILED IN THE REPORT
Nike, Inc. (U.S.)
Adidas AG (Germany)
Puma SE (Germany)
Lululemon Athletica, Inc. (Canada)
Under Armour, Inc. (U.S.)
Columbia Sportswear Company (U.S.)
Asics Corporation (Japan)
FILA Holdings Corp. (South Korea)

Segmentation:
Tops & T-shirts Witness Strong Rise in Sales, Might Fuel Market Growth
Based on product, the global sports apparel market is divided into tops & t-shirts, trousers & tights, shorts, and others. The tops & t-shirts segments account for the largest market share and may register a strong CAGR during the forecast period. More women are taking part in athletics every year. More people are also participating in outdoor recreational activities. In addition, companies are introducing new top and t-shirt designs & collections. For example, in August 2022, luxury fashion brand H&M launched its new sportswear brand ‘H&M Move’. The brand will cater to the ever-growing demand for active wear among consumers. The new lineup consists of functional tops, lightweight jackets, and a wide range of tights and bras, along with garments designed to train and run.
Growing Participation of Women in Sports and Recreational Activities to Boost Sports Apparel Adoption
Based on demography, the market is segmented into men, women, and kids. The women segment is predicted to account for a sizeable market share. The growing percentage of women participating in sports and other outdoor recreational activities will fuel the adoption of tights, sports tops, and other garments. Many companies are launching new products to cater to the new market space.
For instance, in August 2021, ONLY, one of the leading European fashion brands for women, entered the sports apparel segment with its new collection “Only Play”. This launch was aimed at strengthening its position as a fashion-forward brand in the market by providing a wide range of products to meet the rising demand from millennial women. The collection includes tops, tights, tank tops, shorts, and other items with technical specialties, such as removable and non-removable padding, racerback style, functional pockets, and windproof breathability to offer stability and comfort to women while performing their daily activities.
Growing Chain of Retail Outlets to Improve Product Sales
In terms of distribution channel, the industry is bifurcated into online and offline. The offline segment is expected to capture a larger share during the forecast timeline. Many reputed brands, such as Nike, Lululemon, Adidas, and more are opening their own retail outlets. For instance, as per Nike's 2022 annual report, the brand had 344 stores in the U.S. and 702 stores outside the country. These initiatives will spur the growth of offline distribution channels.
Report Coverage:
The global sports apparel market report makes a detailed analysis of the industry and underlines crucial factors, such as competitive landscape, prominent companies, product types, share analysis, demographics, distribution channels, and market sizing. The research report also offers insights into the latest market trends and highlights important industry development in regions including North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and South America. In addition, the report encompasses several other factors contributing to the market's growth.
Drivers and Restraints:
Comfort and Breathability Offered by Sports Apparel to Drive Market Development
Several companies are launching a wide range of sportswear materials that can absorb sweat and keep the person cool and dry. Fabrics, such as cotton, spandex, microfiber, nylon, polyester, and calico are popularly used to make this apparel as these fabrics can make workout sessions comfortable by supporting body movements with optimal elasticity. For instance, in September 2022, Nike unveiled its latest innovation in the materials used to manufacture apparel called “Forward”, which is manufactured with the help of a new production process that uses lesser steps and consumes lesser energy. The material has a lower density as compared to that of woven or knitted, making it more comfortable for athletes and a suitable alternative for climate-conscious clients.
Fluctuating Raw Materials Prices to Restrain Market Development
Yarns and other fabrics used to make sports apparel have a time-consuming production process. According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the production of textiles takes place in a few major countries, such as India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Brazil, and Turkey. For example, the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) stated that India was the largest cotton producer, manufacturing around 362.18 lakh bales during the cotton season of 2021-22. The production of cotton is seasonal and depends on natural factors, such as rainfall, humidity, solar radiation, and others. Furthermore, the production of synthetic fibers, such as nylon, rayon, and polyester uses crude oil in large quantities. These factors are anticipated to restrain the market progress.
Regional Insights:
Rising Influence of Sports to Boost North American Market Growth
The global sports apparel industry is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, South America, and Middle East & Africa. North America accounted for the largest market share owing to the growing consumer base for these products in the U.S. The region is heavily influenced by sports, such as basketball, football, and baseball, which has contributed significantly to the market progress. Furthermore, introduction of new products by market players will also fuel the demand for sports apparel in this region. For instance, in July 2022, DRAKE'S NOCTA announced plans to launch its new basketball apparel collection in collaboration with Nike. The collection will include performance-based garments, such as workout hoodies, tees, shorts, and socks.
APAC Region Witnesses Robust Participation in Sports
The Asia Pacific region is also holding a sizeable share in the global sports apparel market. The region is noticing robust participation in sports. The influence of sports is also growing in countries, such as India, Bangladesh, China, Australia, and others. The introduction of new sports events will further boost the sales of sportswear products. For instance, in September 2022, the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) unveiled the Indian National Basketball League (INBL) 5×5, which will see Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata play over three rounds before heading to the playoffs. Such developments will increase the global sports apparel market share.
Competitive Landscape:
Companies operating in the sports apparel market are innovating their existing product lineup with the help of new launches. They are also increasing their regional presence by introducing advanced technologies in their products. These organizations are partnering with sports events and leagues to widen its customer reach. For instance, in May 2022, Adidas teamed up with Balenciaga to introduce a new collection at the latter’s resort 2023 runway show in New York. It was instantly made available to shop at Balenciaga’s website. Furthermore, new technologies, such as layering styles and texture blocking will enhance the demand for high-tech sports clothing in the forecast period.
Notable Industry Development:
June 2022 - Puma introduced its new PUMA App in India in collaboration with renowned Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. The launch was to cater to the growing number of online shoppers and high adoption of direct-to-consumer channels across the country. India became the first market to have access to the app developed by the German sportswear giant, which will help the brand expand its presence.

Wednesday-Thursday, October 25th-October 26th: Learning to live even if it kills me
The struggle was actually beautiful the last two days. Horrible anxiety, but the swing back of accomplishing things anyway. Self-trust, self-soothing, self-reliance. October 25th was weird, but also invigorating. I was on the verge of tears, holding my stomach, and going on a power (read: crazy-person) walk around the neighborhood when I bumped into a very old and alone golden retriever in booties (I need to get a dog). I made conversation with the owners who told me to swing by on Halloween because they were going to set up their backyard for the neighborhood. It was a beautiful and wholesome moment, even as I stemmed panic.
Then I pitched to Kellogg's and had lunch with Makenna, discussing our plans for Hannah's room when she moves out. After work I danced around the kitchen singing "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (the Mama's and the Papa's version) and making seared salmon and saffron potatoes with shishito peppers, labneh, and olives.
What is it about shishitos where 9 of them are fine and then the tenth one burns the shit out of your mouth? I'm eating leftovers today playing Russian roulette with these spicy bastards. Anyway, the residual emotional hangover from yesterday subsided with a lot of water drinking and a nap. Truly Pavolv's dumbest dog.
I slept deeply last night, no dreams thank god. Worked from Palmy's for a couple of hours, did yoga, and then ran intervals to the beach. I meditated under the pier, staring as the waves came in, getting closer to my ears, eyes, and toes.
I feel calm, creative, and pleasantly exhausted. It's the kind of day you want to hold on to.
Current Book: "You Are More Than You Think You Are" by Kimberly Snyder and Sapiens by Yuval Cantspellhislastname. Not going to lie Kim is coming on a little strong with her wisdom and promising to eliminate both inner turmoil and belly fat with her path to enlightenment (in ten capitalism-friendly steps!) but I'm trying to keep my mind open. (I did already spend $17 so the universe must be on her side a little bit). Sapiens is more fun and historical, though lacks absolutely anything related to spirituality so they kind of balance out.
Current TV Show: Grace and Frankie
Work being funny: Special K-hole, the rate at which East Coast professionals will say "fuck" and "bang it out" on calls.
Perfume: Lost Cause by Phlur
Outfit: Dark blue camo Lululemon workout jacket, black sports bra top, black leggings, black and white Asics, black headband, black leather tiny backpack that it can't fit anything useful in it.

大家好! After 3 years of not using them due to covid, the glue on my old Puma, New Balance as well as Asics shoes dried up and the soles peeled off after a few uses. Time to replace them with a brand new pair and, after trying - and loving - Anta's leggings, tees, shorts, sports bras as well as backpacks, I decided to try their shoes. On Sunday, I wore them out for lunch. I have flat feet and comfy shoes are important; so far so good, I'm happy with the buy.

Where do friends and I pig out nowadays? At what we view as less unhealthy options than fastfood or pizza joints and grills - ma la tang and suan cai yu (fish with preserved veggies). Broths are a tad oily and salty, but they're less artery-clogging, at least to us. The suan cai yu restaurant that SW and WW brought me to is very popular; SW had to make a reservation in advance. We got there very early, way before the crowds started to form and had the entire place to ourselves for awhile.

There was free flow Roselle and tangerine peel tea to go with our savoury and tangy meal. It was my first time trying the fragrant, citrusy beverage and I liked it! 1 bite of the fish and it became obvious why repeat customers brave the long lines to dine here. Every piece was unbelievably delicate and tender. This was 1 of the best versions of fish I've ever tasted, apart from Hong Kong/Teochew style steamed fish.

JA introduced JL, XT and me to another very popular ma la tang joint, where we shared a pot of seafood, meat, veggies and noodles in their famous wickedly spicy, mouth-numbing soup. The broth was so addictive, we couldn't stop eating until the pot was completely empty! I gravitated back to eating qing after the heavy meals to get rid of the jelak (saturated, bloated, full) feeling and did aerobics on top of my daily calisthenics to sweat out the toxins and salt. To be fair, the meals aren't as heavy as grilled meat or pizza and didn't induce food coma. They're still not exactly qing though and my body felt the difference.

SW is a millenial, thus, I was shocked that she isn't into the avocado craze; come to think of it, neither are WW, MZ, DT, GC, JT and JA. I had a chat with her and found out the reason: like the rest of them, she doesn't believe that avocado is healthy. To us, it is merely a less unhealthy alternative to saturated fat; consuming so much of it on toast or 'healthy grain bowls' is not that different from drinking enough oil to deep fry chicken. Of course, we won't stop others from clogging up their arteries; after all, we believe in personal choice. 下次见!

Are fashion brands major in sustainability?
Tumblr media
In its July 2021 record, the not-for-profit Transforming Markets Foundation highlighted that as several as 59 percent of all green claims by European and UK fashion brand names are misleading and can be greenwashing. Recently, H&M was heavily criticised for its 'false' insurance claims that more than half of its items are lasting however they were really not. The brand name was additionally sued and also dragged to the court for its 'greenwashing' effort as they supposedly adjusted Higg Index. After that there is Shein which is encountering around the world backlash for its dishonest practices in the supply chain, yet it gains more revenues than what H&M and Zara collectively gain in the United States!
As horrific as it seems, other brand names too are accused of talking something they do not exercise and yet they show up lasting fashion in various methods-- outright deceptiveness, refined marketing, and often as enthusiastic insurance claims without complete openness around the real impacts! In its July 2021 report, the not-for-profit Changing Markets Structure highlighted that as many as 59 percent of all environment-friendly cases by European as well as UK-style brand names are deceptive and can be greenwashing.

Greenwashing remains in its prime-- all many thanks to brand names' (for this reason customers') love for quick style as well as synthetics!
Arguably, fast style is the most significant offender harming style's sustainability efforts. There is a portion of end customers who think that their investment in choices does not matter, and that their item intake does not make a difference. However, actually, trend-driven overconsumption is inspired by low-price/cheap products that are improperly constructed (more than likely breaching honest production standards) to satisfy tight setting you back. These garments, nearly certainly lasting much less than a period, wind up in landfill or are shipped offshore to emerging markets and establishing economies where they are thrown out as ecological contamination. As a desperate effort to quell a brand-new generation of aware customers, brand names greenwash their 'footprint' in their attempt to market the item or the brand.
The repercussions of the brand's supply chains are significant and durable as they typically make use of man-made products as well as chemicals. Brands should pay attention to selecting custom swimwear manufacturers from source materials so that they can meet environmental requirements when producing products and meet their environmental marketing strategies in the swimwear market. The CEH, a non-profit customer advocacy group, focused on revealing the existence of poisonous chemicals in consumer products, just recently did testing on a range of prominent top-quality sporting activities bras and athleticwear that disclosed high levels of BPA, a chemical compound that's used to make sure types of plastic and can bring about hazardous health and wellness impacts such as bronchial asthma, cardio condition as well as weight problems.
The sporting activities bras marketed by brands like Athleta, PINK, Asics, The North Face, Brooks, Done In Activity, Nike, and also FILA were all evaluated for BPA in the previous 6 months, and also the outcomes showed the clothing might subject users to approximately 22 times the secure limit of BPA, based upon standards set in California, according to the Center for Environmental Health And Wellness.
Just how do brands stand apart in various records on the sustainability front?
In the recent Remake Style Responsibility Report 2022, Remake-- a worldwide advocacy organization battling for reasonable pay as well as climate justice in the clothing industry-- assessed 58 large style businesses in 2022 including Chanel, J.Crew, and Allbirds on their journey to intersectional social and also environmental sustainability and unpacked its crucial findings which suggest towards a worrying circumstance, though some positives exist also!
Strong guarantees on environment modification, yet progress has been limited Just 3 businesses (5 percent)-- Burberry, Everlane, and also H&M Group-- fulfilled all 4 of Remake's environment standards: disclosure of complete exhausts; short-term 1.5 ℃ pathway-aligned Scientific research Based Targets; ambitious long-term net-zero targets; and also a reduction in their overall greenhouse gas emissions. As firms reveal their full supply chain discharges, the range of the trouble is clear: Inditex's (Zara's) annual emissions are equivalent, for instance, to consuming 39 million barrels of oil. The myth of circularity has been revealed but no firm has truly accepted degrowth. A 3rd of the assessed companies are lowering their product packaging waste as well as 20 percent currently supply upcycling or fixing services. Despite a rise in resale platforms as well as some fixing campaigns, there has not been a transition away from straight production. The business proceeds to co-opt for consumer interest in circularity-- like Shein's brand-new resale system-- to greenwash. While no firm can reveal a general decrease in production, some business like Everlane, Nike, and also Patagonia did decrease their use of virgin plastics like polyester. Living salaries stay evasive, yet some businesses are taking much more responsibility for the wages of their workers. Style is constructed on poverty pay, and also that hasn't altered this year. That claimed, a few companies can show that a few of their employees are gaining reasonable pay, and the infrastructure to elevate incomes is ending up being much more robust. Four companies (7 percent) published some progress in the direction of a living wage in their supply chains in enhancement to revealing the technique they utilize to evaluate a living wage: Hanesbrands Inc., Patagonia, Ralph Lauren, and also Improvement. Five companies (9 percent)-- Burberry, Kering (Gucci, Balenciaga), Marks & Spencer, PUMA as well as Reformation-- published partial details showing that a few of their straight staff members, such as business employees or retail employees, worked wage. One firm-- Ganni-- took on a Purchaser Code of Conduct, a kind of contract for the acquisition of products that commits firms to do their part to uphold reasonable commercial methods, such as paying reasonable rates for items completely, and also on the schedule.
Despite some progression, the number of style brand names bringing a shift in their supply chain stays just under 10 percent.
Renay Wells, Style Effect Professional from Australia informed Clothing Resources that a lot of brands that claim to be sustainable consider the usage of 'recycled' manufacture as the only requirement to claim sustainability. They do rarely take into consideration implications and also the influence of their supply chain. "A lot of brands would certainly not give doubt to the ethical repercussions of their production practices. The wish for profit, high margins, and also rapid production far surpasses their insurance claims of sustainability," commented Renay.
Tumblr media
Will the situation change?
The apparel industry has been discussing the adverse impacts of rapid fashion on the environment for a long period now but the consumption of fast style is just boosting with time. It's true that a lot of the lasting style items aren't economical and also do not come as size-inclusive. In countries like Brazil and also Mexico, for circumstances, a lot of people acquire from Shein because they think it is a means to being composed of a particular fashion pattern at inexpensive costs, as well as the brand name really has inclusive dimensions. Sustainable clothes are a lot more expensive for apparent factors, yet there are truly no reasons to not be size-inclusive.
Not just Shein-- which is taken into consideration as a serial offender of sustainability efforts-- many other prominent brand names just as are in charge of enhancing greenwashing attempts. It is extremely vital to educate customers that quick style is impactful for the world and creates enormous environmental pollution!
There is one straight solution to this-- it's since the completion goal of a brand is to market its items in the customer market and also gain earnings. While it is important to have a manufacturer that produces sustainable products, brands should also have some responsibility to focus on environmentally friendly products and seek out an activewear manufacturer. If supply chain is improved, sustainable measures are applied, openness is created, technologies in product are done and correct incomes are offered to workers, after that a brand needs to invest more which eventually leads to walking in product's market prices. Are customers ready to pay this hiked cost for an item?
If they are looking for affordable items, a brand, whose service design deals with quick style idea, merely can not opt for all these prior procedures to develop a sustainable supply chain because it sustains significant expense. This is why altering customers' behaviors as well as their investing ability on high-priced items is critical as that will certainly give area to more lasting products in the market.

🚨Dangerous levels of #BPA have been found in sports bras from leading activewear brands.🚨 The Centre for Environmental Health has issued legal notices to a handful of brands that have recorded BPA levels up to 22 times the safe limit in their clothing. What’s so bad about BPA? It’s a toxic chemical, a really nasty one. It’s used to make plastic and it wreaks havoc on the endocrine system. It’s also been linked to cancer, heart disease, and reproductive issues. Brands like Athleta, Asics and Nike are among the culprits, but there are thousands of brands that haven’t been tested. So how do you avoid BPA in your sports bra or activewear? ✅ Do your research. ✅ Opt for organic. ✅ Buy natural fibres. ✅ Shop sustainably. ✅ You can do all that at thefashionadvocate.com. #thefashionadvocate #ecoliving #sustainability #sustainabletips #ecotips #reducereuserecycle #bpafree #australianmade #ecoblogger #reuse #sustainableliving #plasticfreeliving #reusable #madeinaustralia #ecoactivism #organicliving #sustainableswap #sustainablelifestyle #positiveimpact #ecoactivist #fashion #fashionnews #nike #asics #activewear #healthyliving #healthylivingtips (at Brisbane, Queenland, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkugKa3vZZS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Monday, July 31st: Sweep your floor
Today I experienced a problem that is also a gift...but still a problem.
But in a gifty kind of way.
Before I had my interview this morning with Power Digital (I got to the second round!) and got around to answering emails (got to the second round for MSL marketing as well), I decided today I was going to continue wanting to use the Nike Running app. After all, it got me to run 55 minutes last week. For those of you reading this (literally just me), that’s about an hour more than I usually run.
The interview ended. The coffee had me buzzing, I drank my collagen and applied my sunscreen and deodorant and my key lime sports bra and my giant headphones. I tied my Asics and put on Greta Van Fleet.
And did one of the apps bonus easy runs: 7 minutes. A mile if you are decent at miles. I’m not yet decent but not indecent anymore.
Low key? I felt bad, like I wasn’t adding to my progress. Which is crazy because a short run is still a run. It still completely counts, especially because it’s part of my daily walk to the beach and back so it’s not like I didn’t cover ground after that. I went faster than usual, bringing up my embarrassing average speed. I even got tired toward the end, so flexed my mental muscles there as well.
The 35 minute run that’s on deck for this week just freaks me out a bit. What if I can’t do it? My furthest unbroken run is 22 minutes.
And the thing is, running for most of my daily walk has been a goal of mine for a while now. Somehow when I wasn’t looking it became easy for me to do. Too easy. Like did I even really do anything?
Same with Daily Yoga, I felt exhausted an hour ago and decided to just do 10 minutes of hip stretches. Even though my goal absolutely used to be just ten minutes a day, and when I was tired skipping over a practice wasn’t a big deal. But now 10 minutes makes me wonder if I’m getting more flexible, if I even can get more flexible without a longer session.
Meditation, again, I haven’t skipped a day of mindfulness in 55 days. Earlier this year it was a big deal to get to 9 consecutive days. But I felt myself judging my “presence”. Wanting to hit that next step on the path to enlightenment. FYI, you don’t have to laugh with the universe to know that being goal oriented isn’t exactly the best way to kill your ego. The whole idea is to exist in the moment without judging yourself. Wondering if your spine can be straighter or your mind could be emptier is just a girl with OCD gnawing on her own chakras.
I wanted to feel achievement and instead felt like my wheels were spinning. Ugh, I totally get this from Dad. He never heard good news that didn’t stress him out.
I’m being consistent. I am improving. FAST. So why is it that when I take it easy, (a chapter of a book instead of the whole damn thing), it feels like I’m not doing enough?
I used to think that if I could be the type of person who regularly did all these things that I’d be happy. My ceiling is now my floor and I’m impatient for the next ceiling.
Stop. Feel the pride, goddamnit. Or one day you’ll be able to go 10 miles, and feel shitty about yourself because it wasn’t 11 miles. And then one day you’ll be dead and no one will give a fuck that you ran in the first place.
When you’re establishing a new habit, it’s all about baby steps. Maybe it’s a good sign that I’m ready to take kid sized steps. But the initial efforts are what got me here.
I swept my literal bedroom floors, then swiffered them, wiped down the dresser and bedside table, cleaned the mirror so as to not check myself out through a film of dust. I dragged the plant Katie left in to the corner of my room and read two chapters of 4000 weeks by Oliver Burkeman. The theme is there will never be a time in the future in which you will allow yourself to be calm, because you will just find new things to fret and plan for until you’re dead.
You’re always going to have more emails. Today is enough.
In “The Cost of Utopia”, the character Alexander Herzen is mourning the untimely death of his young son in a shipwreck. In this loss he comes to the realization that a child’s life is no less valuable even though he never was able to reach adult accomplishments: “Because children grow up, we think a child’s purpose is to grow up, but a child’s purpose is to be a child. Nature doesn’t disdain what only lives for a day. It pours the whole of itself into each moment...Life’s bounty is in its flow. Later is too late.”
Just because I’m getting better doesn’t mean my purpose is out there in a land of dreamt potential. My purpose is in the here and now. Page by page, mile by mile, healthy choice after healthy choice. Maybe I’ll get there (I will) or maybe this is where I plateau, but I’m not going to stop cleaning my corner of the universe and sweeping this floor until it shines. I worked hard to get here and I’m going to honor the foundation I get to walk on, and yes, even take a little for granted. Later is not when I deserve to be happy.
Not when I actually got a lot of shit done today.
