#ash's pikachu is a god actually

Meme Pokemon world means Meme traveling companions for Ash but I've only figured out one so far: Hatsune Fucking Miku herself.

She has a Farfetch'd as her Starter because of course she does, and is on her Pokemon Journey to get inspiration for her music. They met when Ash saved her from a bunch of Team Chungus Grunts (because Meme Pokemon world also means Meme evil teams) who wanted to kidnap a celebrity and hold them for ransom. The fact that the world's most popular synthetic pop star and the World Champion (who is also the Universal Avatar and Legendary Chosen One) are traveling together would draw a lot of attention except they're also a couple of dumb hyperactive teenagers so most people are too distracted by their antics to properly make the connection between Ash and Miku the traveling Pokemon Trainers and Ash Ketchum and Hatsune Miku the celebrities.

The SMGs aren't part of the main travel group since 29 usually has her hands full keeping the Internet Graveyard in line and 30 decided to be one of Professor Oak's lab assistants since staying in Pallet Town gives him a more stable internet connection and he's got that whole Mad Scientist Thing going on.

Trainers In Love

As it was customary for every battle in the World Coronation Series, the two trainers facing off always met in the middle to introduce themselves and shake hands, but the two trainers standing in the center of the battlefield needed no such introductions.

It'd been a while since she'd last seen the trainer everyone was talking about. He'd certainly come a long way from the boy who'd started the first day of his pokemon journey in pajamas. Now, he was sporting a pair of worn jeans that she hated to admit fit him in all the right areas, a dark blue t-shirt hidden under a black training vest, and of course, one of his trademark hats forced to fit over his rattata's nest of hair. The look was only further completed by Pikachu standing on his shoulder with his paws curled into fists, an equally determined look on its face.

When their hands met in the middle, the familiar roughness of a well-worn pair of gloves brushed the palm of her hand. She'd heard that sometimes a feeling or sensation alone could take you back to a long-forgotten time. Whether or not it was true, at that moment, she fully believed it as her mind was flooded with memories of camping out under the stars, running from wild pokemon, blasting off Team Rocket, and more as moments from their travels blended together.

Ash must have noticed her falter because he squeezed her hand. It went unnoticed by everyone else, but Misty glanced up, recognizing the small gesture as a question. A quick squeeze to ask if she was okay. To reassure her that no matter what, he was there. It was going to be okay. Even during their impending battle, he would always put their friendship first.

She nodded in an attempt to brush off the feeling and stood up straight. Squeezing back, her eyes danced with a renewed spark not seen in the Cerulean Gym Leader in years.

"Scared, Mist? My team is pretty tough," Ash baited her. She did her best to remain steadfast, but the way his face broke into a playful grin paired with his special nickname for her left her body feeling flushed. "You can give up now, you know? I'd understand."

Misty scoffed, quickly bouncing back. "Why? Afraid I'll beat you?"

Ash smirked, and for a second, Misty swore her knees would buckle from underneath her. "You beat me? Sorry Misty, but I'm not that little kid who earned badges out of pity." Misty couldn't help it, but she gave him a quick glance over, her eyes lingering on his toned muscles, dark brown eyes, and a five o'clock shadow. No, you most certainly are not. "I came here to win."

Misty bounced back quickly and sweetly smiled back before releasing their hands. "Aw, that's real cute, Ash, but I'm afraid this is where it ends for you."

Thanks to the mics hooked up to each trainer, the whole audience could hear their conversation, but it didn't take a trained eye to see the crackling tension between the two trainers. From his seat, however, a less than enthused audience member groaned and rolled his eyes at the antics of his two best friends.

In front of him, a young woman typed frantically on her phone, gushing at the scene before her. He wasn't intentionally glancing at her phone, but it was hard not to notice the messages written in all caps she and someone named Maria were exchanging.

Maria: Oh my god, oh my god!

Girl: I know! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Girl: He even has a nickname for her. That's so freaking adorable. I can't.

Maria: I wish Dave had a special nickname for me.

Maria: I swear to god, you can actually see the sparks flying between them.

Girl: You mean the sexual tension? 😉

Brock sighed. The girl wasn't wrong. Anybody who wasn't Ash or Misty could tell all their playful banter was really just flirting. A sort of foreplay before the big event.

Just then, the referee stepped forward and pulled out a coin. "Today's match will be a six-on-six battle with no time limit. Both trainers may substitute a pokemon at any time. The trainer whose pokemon is last left standing will win. Are the trainers ready?" Misty and Ash nodded. "This coin toss will decide who chooses their pokemon first. Heads will be the Cerulean City Gym Leader, Misty, and tails will be the challenger, Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town."

Both heads turned to watch as the coin soared into the air before landing on the referee's open palm.

Tails.

Misty beamed victoriously. "I hope you brought some burn heals, Ash because you'll need them after Starmie and I destroy you."

Ash quirked his eyebrow and stuck out his tongue. "Starmie? That thing doesn't even have a face."

Misty gritted her teeth. She would not let Ash get to her. "Just don't come crying to me when you lose to the Water Pokemon Master."

Ash shielded his eyes and glanced around the arena. "Really? I don't see Wallace."

Well, she had tried.

Misty flinched, narrowing her eyes before stepping forward and into his space. She was going to kill him before the match even started.

The referee glanced worriedly back and forth between them, likely never having faced a potential fight between the two trainers and not their pokemon.

Misty extended her finger to push against Ash's chest, catching him off guard with an oomph. A chest she couldn't help but notice was much more toned than she remembered. Leaning forward, she punctuated her words with a simultaneous poke of his chest. "Listen here, Ketchum. You may be my friend, but I have a reputation to uphold. I hope you've been training hard because I won't even blink when you and your pokemon succumb to the most powerful element."

"You wish," he shot back. "We've been preparing for this match all year. Right, Buddy?"

"Pika!"

Misty's eyes briefly softened, and her hand relaxed. All year? Was it silly to think that meant he'd been thinking about her then, too? She shook her head. No way. With Ash, it was all about his pokemon and how to make them stronger, how to get better. It had nothing to do with her specifically.

"Well, let's hope it was worth it," she said. "Because my pokemon and I are ready."

"You ready, Pikachu?" Ash called to the pokemon on his shoulder. "Let's give it our all and make this a battle we'll never forget, okay?"

"Pika!" the pokemon cried back, more electricity crackling around him.

Misty laughed. Those two were certainly fired up, practically feeding off each other's energies. Then again, she wouldn't expect anything less from Ash and his lifetime partner.

The referee coughed loudly, slightly catching Ash and Misty off guard. "If both trainers are ready, please return to your battle positions, and we will begin the match."

Misty gave a curt nod before turning toward her side of the field. As she stepped foot into the trainer box, she turned to face her opponent, various strategies already running through her head. She'd always known this could happen. Ash had always been a strong trainer, and she'd always believed in him, so it was only a matter of time before he made his way through the ranks of the Normal, Great, and Ultra classes. A victory against her would likely catapult him into the Master Class and put him one step closer to his dream, so she couldn't be too upset if she ultimately lost. But that didn't mean she would go down without a fight.

Misty steeled herself, a pokeball gripped into her hand, ready to counter Ash's first pick.

This would be a battle she'd never forget.

The girl in front of Brock squealed once more before returning her attention to her phone.

Girl: Are you watching this right now?

Maria: Duh! This is SO much better than reality TV. I'm serious. I'm curled up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn, and my jaw's been glued to the floor the entire time, and they haven't even started battling yet.

Girl: Right? I'm fangirling so hard right now. I think the guy behind me thinks I'm crazy! I'm like, come on, Heather, get a grip.

Maria: I've screamed at the TV at least three times. I think Dave thinks I've officially lost it, but, oh my god, this is SO FREAKING HOT. I'm going to need a cool shower after this.

Heather: (fans self) Who knew pokemon battles could be so…stimulating.

Maria: Amen. 🙌

Heather: Do you think they're dating? Would it be weird to start chanting, kiss, kiss, kiss?

Maria: I don't know, but If these two aren't perfect for each other, does true love even exist?

The battle had been nothing short of exhilarating. The audience watched in awe as blow after blow, attack after attack, Ash and Misty's pokemon continued to get back up, giving it their all and fighting until they reached their limits. Misty's corsola was the first to be knocked out, followed by Ash's meganium. Next, both Meganium and Noivern were taken out by Misty's kingdra.

Back and forth, the two fought, the number of pokeballs under their names on the big screen depleting one by one as yet another pokemon was knocked unconscious.

Halfway through the battle, Misty's starmie, unfortunately, succumbed to Ash's pikachu, but not without having first spun itself into a powerful psychic attack that ended its grueling battle against Ash's sirfetch'd.

When battling with Ash, one couldn't simply play the book. Although at times unconventional, Ash's battling style had always reflected his daring and inventive personality. He could adapt a moment's notice, pulling strength from those moments when he was backed into a corner or the chips were down. She'd watched him battle this way for years, so she knew that people tended to underestimate Ash's pikachu. Surely, an unevolved pikachu could only get so strong, but if there was one thing Pikachu excelled in, it was overcoming his weaknesses and using them to his advantage-not so unlike his trainer.

"Whatcha going to do now, Misty?" Ash called from across the field, his cocky grin on full display.

Now faced with how to take down one of Ash's strongest pokemon, Misty knew there was only one solution.

It was time for her secret weapon.

"I knew you'd use Pikachu, so I had to call in a special favor for this one." Misty winked back before bringing the pokeball to her lips. "Hope you're ready to lose, Ashy!"

Ash wrinkled his nose in disdain at the dreaded nickname, but then he and Pikachu froze as Misty tossed her pokeball out into the open arena.

"Toge, toge! Togekiss!"

Misty smiled victoriously, almost cackling at Ash's look of pure shock. Instantly recognizing the pokemon before him, Pikachu lowered his ears and turned toward Ash, whining in protest. Togekiss may have fully evolved, but that wouldn't take away the nurturing feelings Pikachu held for the once-baby togepi that had traveled with him for years.

Ash grumbled and clenched his fists in frustration. "Pikachu, return!" he shouted. His faithful partner didn't have to be asked twice before returning to Ash's side. "That's a dirty trick, Misty!"

Misty rolled her eyes. "All's fair in love and pokemon battles, Ash. I told you I came here to win."

"Fine. You may have won this battle, but this match is far from over."

"I'm counting on it!"

"This is it, folks! Both trainers are down to their final pokemon!" The announcer's voice echoed through the arena, but everyone was so focused on the match in front of them that his words went completely ignored. "Gym Leader Misty has chosen gyarados, and the challenger, Ash, has chosen his greninja."

This is it. We've come this far, and we're not backing down now, so let's give it all we've got.

Misty touched the keystone embedded in her hair tie, and Gyrados began to glow a dark and vibrant red. "Strong, valiant, and powerful! And now, my beautiful, blue sweetheart, mega evolve!"

"Alright, Greninja. Now, what'd you say we give them a little taste of our power, huh?" Ash shouted. Then, before her eyes, Greninja and Ash began to mimic each other's movements, and the pokemon was swept into a tornado of water. She'd heard stories from Ash's traveling companions about his unique bond with Greninja, but it was completely different to actually see the two morph into perfect synchrony. "More! Stronger, stronger! Now, let's do it!"

Misty waited for Ash to give Greninja a command, but then, in the most bizarre turn of events likely ever seen in a pokemon battle, Ash pulled out his phone.

"It seems the challenger has stopped the battle to…make a phone call?" Murmurs traveled around the arena, the audience just as perplexed as the announcer. Yet, everyone was on the edge of their seat. The next question came from the announcer but seemed to be directed toward the referee. "Is that allowed?"

The referee shrugged. Since the beginning, this match had gone nowhere according to plan, so why would it now?

"What the hell, Ketchum? We're in the middle of a pokémon battle!"

"I know, I know," he groaned. Ash at least looked apologetic as he gestured to the ref to give him just a moment. "And I'm sorry, but there's something important I need to do first."

The referee sighed in irritation but then gestured for Ash to continue. Misty wouldn't be surprised if the man quit right then and there.

From her back pocket, Misty's phone vibrated. She glanced at it and then at Ash, who waved his phone. Begrudgingly, Misty pulled out her phone to discover that, amongst a variety of other messages, there was one from Ash sitting at the top of her notifications, sent only seconds ago.

Ash: Before we finish this, I need to ask you something important.

Misty glanced back up to see Ash staring down at his phone before turning back to her phone screen, where a bubble of three dots sent a wave of anxiety rushing through her.

Then, his message popped up on the screen, and her entire body went rigid. Soon, her hands started to shake, and her heart beat so fast she thought she would pass out. Her mind went full tunnel vision on her phone, the noises of the arena drowned out, and the world around her went still and quiet. Still, she wondered if everyone could hear the thump thump of her pulse - the sound of her blood pumping through her vital organs, trying to keep her from losing consciousness.

Ash: If I win this match, will you go out with me, Misty?

She turned back to verbalize her response, but Ash had already slipped his phone back into his pocket and refocused his attention on the battle. Then, in a way that was just so him that it made all the nerves vanish from her body, he turned around his hat.

Misty smiled. Win or lose, this would be a battle for the ages.

Reader has Ash's personality and with Ash's pokemon partner, Pikachu (and also other Ash's pokemon and the pokemon he befriend/care of (Including Legendary pokemon) as well)…

Yay for Pokemon!! I actually had to look Ash up on what Pokemon he’s had over the years, as I’ve only seen the original anime series, so I picked out the team for this request from his previous partners.

-You inhaled deeply; your eyes closed as you heard the roar of the crowds on the other side of the door. It wasn’t your first time in a massive crowd like this, so you weren’t nervous, and it wasn’t the first time you were in a dangerous situation, having dealt with serval situations throughout your life where you had put your life at stake.

-Brunnhilde was hesitant, making a child fight for humanity, despite having the strongest team of your life, your six partners all coming with you after you passed, passing alongside you.

-When she brought up the idea of having you being a backup fighter you immediately agreed, showing no fear whatsoever, you actually looked excited which did concern the Valkyrie, angering her that you had faced so much and you were still so young, only being eleven.

-You were a little confused when the cheers quickly, almost instantly, turned into shouts of outrage, seeing a child walking out, on both sides, many immediately yelling at Brunnhilde who stunned so many, looking calm, like she was okay with this decision.

-The weather god you were facing off against had the ability to split himself into six different bodies, making it a six on one fight, and he was furious, seeing a child facing against him as you grinned warmly, not having to adhere to normal battle rules and you called out your six partners.

-Everyone was in awe, seeing these magical creatures, which you called Pokemon, they were all so different looking and you beamed, your eyes narrowed in focus and determination.

-Your opponent split himself into his six forms, evening the odds, sneering down on you, “Don’t take this personally kid, but I’m going to beat you and those beasts of yours.”

-You didn’t look bothered at all, giving him a small smirk yourself, “Don’t underestimate us! We’ve been training for years now!!” and with that you called out your attacks, sending your Pikachu, Gengar, Lucario, Lycanroc, Noivern, and Snorlax into battle, calling out different attacks.

-Those in Valhalla had never seen Pokemon before, so they didn’t know what they could do, as your partners followed your orders, launching attacks against one or another of the clones.

-You kept back, staying safe, healing up your partners with potions, something some of the gods said was cheating, but it was part of your weapon, your backpack, as you came to Valhalla with it so it did count.

-The god managed to blow back your partners with a powerful attack, reforming into one and you recalled your Lycanroc and Noivern, as they had been knocked out in the blast as you prepared to launch a combined attack.

-You inhaled deeply before you glared up at him, “Time to get serious!” you grabbed the lip of your baseball cap and spun it around on your head, doing nothing but switching your hat, which many thought was rather amusing.

-Your opponent was less than amused, seeing this as you mocking him as he began to charge his attack and you looked at your remaining partners, “Let’s go boys! Pikachu use Thunder! Gengar use Shadow Ball! Lucario use Aura Sphere! Snorlax use Hyper Beam!!”

-The light from the combined attack was almost blinding as they all hit your opponent at the same time, easily wiping him out and leaving you as the clear winner of the match.

-You cheered along with the human crowd, hugging and praising your Pokemon for their hard work, recalling them into their Pokeballs except for Pikachu whom you picked up and headed backstage to heal up your team and celebrate with a feast that Brunnhilde promised you.

-You were young, but you were definitely not to be underestimated by any means!

ash's victini doesn't do battle! no. it's more of a support buddy. an encourager, if you will. the two mean so much towards each other for what the two had done for one another. also, c'mon man. the signature peace fingers ( or at least what ash's og pose used to be ).

victini was alone for thousands of years and the only person who finally understood it was ash. while trying to rescue a couple of deerling from falling off a cliff, ash was granted victini's power to land them to safety, because it saw him as a compassionate, self-sacrificing human like its past " master ".

it was shy and afraid of humans up until ash offers it cilan's macaroons, even teasing it like a baby, pretending to eat them for it to finally show itself. ash's devotion is so strong for it to leave the barrier it is trapped inside, that he promises to take it to the ocean. this promise alone is what awakens zekrom / reshiram ( depending which version is being watched ). ash stays with victini despite having the chance to escape the castle. the pillars enclose ash, victini and pikachu, leaving them imprisoned as the castle leaves the stratosphere.

ash's final words before, what i believe to be his most vital death of all pokeani because- suffocating from lack of air, becoming numb and freezing over ( plus you can seriously see the life leave his eyes in this one ) are, " i'm sorry i couldn't take you to see the ocean ". he sheds a single tear because he unfulfilled this; he doesn't even consider that he's dying right now, he's only focusing on that promise. these last words awaken victini's true, inner power; forfeiting its own life to save ash and everyone. of course not all is lost in the end; meeting ash at the promised land ocean being fed its favorite macaroons.

this movie's plot is so bareboned. lift castle, hurt mythical in process, put castle down. but my god. do i love watching ash being an actual dad to victini. he feeds, hugs, protects, sleeps, plays, pets and even offers his life in order for it to see, after generations, new scenery.

if anyone could manage to open a pokemon's heart from eternal loneliness and confinement, it's ash.

Pokémemories: The Ghost Train Heist

Immediately after the Don Battle, Pokémon: Best Wishes gave us an amazing story arc where Meowth is fired from Team Rocket and joins Ash's group as a traveling companion, all while Jessie and James prepare for a large-scale heist in the Nimbasa City subway system under the direction of Dr. Zager. Meowth's interactions with Ash's group were great, as were the situations he got placed into, and trying to piece together the full scope of Team Rocket's plan was fun. It all came into a head with a two-parter set in Nimbasa City's Battle Subway.

Team Rocket's plan for the heist was something to behold: they commandeered a subway train to move outside the regular track routes to create a "ghost train" urban legend that distracts the attention of the Subway Bosses Ingo and Emmett. Then, when Meowth makes it to the Nimbasa City Pokemon Center with Ash's group, he calls Dr. Zager about it (because he was not fired from Team Rocket at all, it was a lie to gain Ash and his friends' trust). While Dr. Zager hacks the city drawbridge to prevent outside help from coming, Meowth loads all Pokemon from the Pokémon Center - including Ash, Iris and Cilan's which usually are used to thwart Team Rocket - onto the ghost train. Then when Ash, Iris, Cilan, Ingo and Emmett try to give chase, the Team Rocket trio dispatch multiple decoy ghost trains to obscure their actual route...which is toward Anville Town, where Dr. Zager and his helicopter are waiting to pick up the stolen loot. It's a brilliantly crafted and executed scheme, ultimately only failing because Pikachu gets loose and proves even more special than even Team Rocket had accounted for by becoming a temporary Pokémon trainer himself toward his fellow Pokémon.

God, was Team Rocket in Best Wishes awesome.

I dooo!!! God what did i write last time? I dint remember so here's a lil baby Eevee eventually evolving!!

Headcanons:

-Ash's Aura isnt something he can turn off EXCEPT when he's under extreme stress or duress that he can't handle. It's akin to a Sensory Overload for him, everything gets muted and it feels like he looses his ability to hear and see even though its still there.

- Pikachu is crazy expierenced and strong, he doesnt tell the Newbies that he's beat up legendaries because he wants them to see him as the fun- if slightly crazy- friend and partner!

- Ash actually has a lot of Eggs back at the farm because of his pokemon either, a) Populating or b)finding eggs at random.

-Because screw Gender evo's. Gender Specific pokemon have a branched evo that is either Nonbinary or including a Male line. The primary account being Bounsweet!

- Ash's Pokemon all know (at least) one move out of their Species normal repitoire. Bukbasaur with Dig and Gust, Charizard with all 3 Elemental Punches, Squirtle with Dragon Pulse. They're not overly good with it, its a lot of testing and mostly used as a last minute resort wih lots of build up.

-The kids recognize that Ash isnt that much older than them and they know he's barely considered their senior but they cant help but admire how he acts and talks and the stories and lessons he can teach. Its better when Ash fully admits he doesnt understand something and asks them questions about it, it makes them feel like he truly sees them as friends (he does)

-There's another student joining in that has yet to be seen (But they are a canon character) mostly for an even amount of students.

- Ash and Lusamine have major beef with eachother. Its hatred on first sight. They do not become friends, they don't become buddy buddy, Ash barely tolerates her and even that drops when she's good and grants the students Ultra Guardian status. *They're CHILDREN Lusamine!*

- Ash is very touch affectionate with his students. Pats of affirmation, small side hugs, shoulder nudging etc. He's not onto full on hugs of comfort, that gives him the heeby jeebies but its still more affection than most of the students are used to.

- Dont be fooled Ash may be expierenced and has stories to boot, But he's still an idiot. "That's an Oxymoron!" "Dont call the strategy a moron, they cant defend themselves!"

- Ash typically defaults to it for Pokemon until he knows them personally. He's especially vicious with correcting older folk on pronouns just to piss them off, most pokemon dont really care but at times its a sweet gesture, especially if the folks are particularly nasty.

- Ash has met Viren before and vice versa. It was a brief meeting on a boat and both of them left extremely bitter about it. Ash comoletely forgot about Viren but Viren remenbers Ash as that "15 year old Brat!" its extremely funny to have a one sided hatred when the other party barely remenbers you

- Ash is bad at matching names to faces, but its not malicious. If you dont see him everyday, he's bound to forget

- Ash and his pokemon speak a lot of languages, but only he and Pikachu can really read, and even then its still trial and error. He has a lot of moments of pausing and trying to translate on slower days.

- Pikachu has trained to be able to feel aura and see like his partner. Its no where near as strong as Ash's and it drains him fast, but he wants to know what Ash sees and feels.

hi, ive loved your art forever, finally working up the courage to send an ask ahshdjfjf

when i was a kid i was really attached to the pokemon anime and i remember that one episode about the charmander being left all alone in the rain, and then being saved by ash and given a chance to recover, i remember projecting so hard onto it and wanting to be given that chance as well, to have someone save me like that. anyways, your art has always made me Feel Things, theres a very sentimental quality to your art and the way you design characters. i connect a lot with your sadder stuff as well. youre very good at storytelling in your work, especially that piece with ray about wanting to return to the places in your childhood but not ever experiencing them the same way. man, you hit that feeling right on the head.

anyways, where was i going with this. i struggle a lot with trying to reclaim some parts of my childhood, it took me a lot to even remember that i projected so much onto that charmander. but seeing a pikachu be so.. i dont know, happy about connecting with pokemon so much, it just, it means a lot to me. i used my imagination as escapism and id like to try and reconnect with it. i am using your art as a guide and as inspiration.. i feel like i can get close to that again.

I honestly forget ppl ever see my more sad/melancholy drawings, I wasn’t expecting it to affect me so hard hearing someone mention it xD Drawing is one of the few vessels I can properly channel my emotions with, and there’s a lot more raw stuff I don’t share online. I never know if the catharsis I feel drawing the Heavier stuff translates, because I still center those drawings around silly animals xD

I’m so happy you were able to rediscover your connection with Ash’s charmander!! That episode always made me emotional too 💔 I can’t say where my lifelong fixation on Pikachu really began, but my mom told me that even before I engaged with anything pkmn related, I was just immediately enamored by seeing it at a store or on TV xD

Eventually she took me to see Pokémon 4ever in theaters, and I vaguely remember being instantly ENCHANTED by the little short movie before the actual film began. Those animated shorts of Pikachu with all its friends, no humans attached, were always this ultimate comfort fantasy for me to watch xD

As my identity and personality fluctuates, I always find it comforting being grounded in my connection to Pikachu. The episode where it refused to evolve stuck with me on a deep level too haha.

reuniclus: i have no idea how this sentient jellybean shot up my ranks so intensely but i love reuniclus SO much its /easily/ my fav non-legend/mythical. also unova is my favourite gen of all time and whenever i replay it i always make sure to have a reuniclus right alongside me <3 also has an s tier shiny though ive never gotten around to hunting one of my own :')

alcremie: SHES BABYYYYY i love the design so much alcremie is so CUTE i love the evolution gimmick i love collecting my favourite swirl and treat patterns i love naming them after pastries idc that they suck to use in battle also did i mention they are so goddamn CUTE . god . i love alcremie. ruby swirl superiority btw.

latias: similar to celebi in that i was endeared through the movie :') i am choosing to disregard the stuff with ash, the latias/latios storyline made kid me B AWL. also probably has one of my favourite shinies of all time, also her cry is so pretty it sounds like she is purring, Also when i played emerald and didn't know what it meant when u picked blue or red in the postgame my dumb ass picked blue and was so upset that I couldn't get latias so now i have to make up for it . also has a miku collab . also -

glaceon: is any pokemon favourites list complete without An Eeveelution,,,,, i think Not. it's always a tossup between glaceon and sylveon for me but there's just something abt how sleek and elegant glaceon's design is . its so good. idc that shes not one of the more competitively viable eevees i love her and her sassy bangs <3

ninetales: last but not least ! nostaglia aside, for a lot of the gen 1 mons i feel they're just. overall less memorable compared 2 the flashier designs of the newer gens but ninetales is SO classic . the kitsune concept will never not be fantastic she's so elegant so graceful so beautiful . alolan ninetales is also stunning but the original is already perfection I don't think the regional form can top it. also was my very first shiny hunt!!! my shiny ninetales is named nami and she is safe in pokemon home <3

In my SI-Red fic he's gonna name all of his Pokémon, because he WILL be meeting Ash so I wanted a way to differentiate Red's Pikachu and Ash's other than just gender. Red's is a girl and her name is Hoshiko. It means star child. Ash continues to call his Pikachu just Pikachu, and thank god for that because he'd be awful at names.

Other than names though, I'm going with a theme that Red would be more suited to contests, and each of his Pokémon sort of have a title. Almost like they were a Clow Card from Cardcaptor Sakura, actually. Hoshiko's title is The Thunder. And if Red were a card, he'd be The Quiet.

It's the reasoning behind the name of the fic, if that wasn't obvious.

I'm actually really excited because I've got more than half of Red's team planned out, their names, and their titles. And the neat thing is that other than Hoshiko, they're all canon characters from the Pokémon anime, so you may have already seen them before! Who knows, maybe one of them was originally meant to be Ash's Pokémon... wink wink.

If y'all wanna ask me about the fic I'm willing to answer stuff, and I encourage you to ask because it gets me super motivated. I've got an outline and already started on the next chapter, but extra motivation is always welcomed.

Headcanon because depression just hit me like a truck, and I'm in desperate need of comfort rn:

Suddenly, and often without warning, the trauma hits Ash like an Extreme Speed attack, and he just ceases. All ability to function just stops. He goes numb, eyes dull and lifeless as tears occasionally spill and trickle down his cheeks.

Raihan knew what he signed up for when he became romantically involved with Ash. Whenever these episodes occur, no matter how long they last, Raihan would simply drop whatever he was doing previously, pull Ash into his arms, and hold him tight.

No words are shared. There is no need or room for words. But all the while, Raihan is hoping (read: praying) that sooner, rather than later, the bubbly, energetic, feral Ash he knows will return from the dark clouds that have taken over his boyfriend.

Raihan is more than willing to drop everything or as much as he can in that moment to help Ash. Sometimes this leads to Raihan sprawled across the couch with Ash tucked securely in his arms as he’s on a call with other league officials. No one’s going to say no to The Ash Ketchum, let alone his lover who he protects so fiercely.

Adding on:

Raihan’s protection is more media based, to protect Ash for not being in the media presence. There have been dozens of times he had thrown his weight around outside of Galar and his fan base. Though he picks different reason’s why publicly. Galar as a whole will protect him no matter what, even his hater’s would take his side over anyone else just because of their country pride ways. Let alone the other league members of other regions that genuinely like Raihan for his personality and not just his paparazzi ready smile and icy blue eyes. Ash helped boost his image in front of much higher league officials. Champions from far off regions he’s never heard of and now constantly in touch with.

Genuine friends that weren’t made from working side by side in forced acknowledgement for years. Ruled over by fucking Rose the entire time and some even controlled as puppets. It does things to people and Ash was his saving grace from falling into a bitter, bitter life. His precious little legend. He’d do anything to protect the life Ash gave him the moment he fell into Raihan’s lap. Not even his colleges were safe, Leon still quivers when Raihan smiles with a little to much teeth now. Rose and Oleana tried once and they had almost the entire International League come down as a whole. The first time everyone had seen each region agree upon was that they were out of line.

Despite being Rose’s only child he was openly against the man from the start, openly gave his opinion to every foreign leader his father wished he could meet. Nothing would or could stop him. Ash was an absolute instigator the entire time. Not once has he stopped Raihan and even prompted the man to speak out. It had rewarded him in the end when a good chunk of people had actually apologized to Riahan that he had to be that mans son. It had most likely solidified his position as the Champions most favored lover of Ash’s. Settling him permanently at Ash’s side-despite the fact they weren’t even official dating to each other. They saw people on the side but not as often as they did at the start. It petered out to once or twice a month. To occupied in each other even from a distanced but unwilling to do anything about it.

Like the dumb fucks they were.

But now? Now he has a black little velvet box sitting in an old beaten and slightly bent pokeball, Pikachu’s decommissioned one after broken in an a freak accident with some God Ash won’t tell him about. Moss agate stone plated in gold, flashy because Ash wanted it to be. And then it’ll be one custom made by Steven Stone and Lance. A traditional wedding band for men and a more sleek design. Designated to show that it was official, they were each other’s and no one else’s.

Ash is also very protective of Raihan, more so than equal to the gym leader. So fiercely protective in the swing on this motherfucker and I’ll make you beg in front of Arceus way. Ash wouldn’t kill unless pushed to the absolute limit or either protecting a vast majority of people before it’s to late. Blood on his hands is what he’s trying to avoid in this world but it’s a necessary. But when it comes to Raihan? The only person Ash has never had to explain any aches or pain, never asked about a new mark or unless in passing. That doesn’t mean Raihan never worshipped him. Nearly does every night and he cherishes it in every form of love that he can show. Which also means he’s going to rip into some fuckers that even dare breath wrong in Raihan’s direction. Anyone was fair game and it was quickly established that the Champions were not running Raihan out of his love life. Arceus, Raihan was his.

There was rarely another person, only when he got to pent up from the stress and aura usage. Ash almost found the act enjoyable in some cases. He doesn’t know what raihan knows whats going on when he’s out and about. If he keeps tabs on Ash through social media or not. It wouldn’t surprise him and was more then welcomed. From what he’s seen on the news played during breakfast Raihan has a pretty tight grip about Ash’s overall arching online presence. Backed by the other leagues own need for safety reasons when it comes to Ash he was well protected.

Though is defeats the fact that Ash doesn’t necessarily care. He’s okay with being on scream and in pictures and videos. Which leaves to a lot of Ash’s failed attempts to do parkour in public, even to this day, on the web.

But back to Ash being the scary Houndoom to Raihan’s sly Liepard.

Raihan is literally the only person Ash has a “touch them and your dead” outlook on everyone. No one’s safe and he’s very good at keeping that under wraps.

he's so proud of u once your son is born, and he knows how much strain the whole experience put on you both physically and mentally - so new dad kai does everything he possibly can to make sure you're not doing too much.

he's so excited about his new little buddy that the lack of sleep hardly even phases him. your baby starts crying at 4am and after grumbling a bit about having to get up again, he remembers why he's getting up - and when he sees the little face of baby huening he cannot find it in him to care about himself. he becomes a pro at knowing what your son needs. food? bottle is READY. cuddles? dad's arms are right there when he needs em. diaper full? not his favourite task, but consider it done.

he's not perfect at everything, no one ever is, but he tries his best and he's just so full of love for his lil boy :(

the huening genes are strong af so he probably looks just like him, but kai will always insist he looks like you, "he's got your pretty eyes!"

when he's down for nap time kai is literally just like 🧍🏻because he loves taking him out on little adventures and showing him the animals and plants in your garden, or taking him to the supermarket and showing him the toys and foods 🥹

when he's a little bit older kai ABSOLUTELY builds lego sets with him and shows him all of his favourite geeky cartoons and toys he loves. ur baby is also probably gonna be in a pikachu outfit 80% of the time. OH MY GOD WAIT FAMILY HALLOWEEN COSTUJMES DHJKNJDNJ you and kai go as ash and misty and dress ur lil boy up as pikachu :'))

finished watching pokemon horizons episode 6 (spoilers below!)

ok so i think this is where the season really starts now, we have liko and roy together with the rising volt tacklers and they're heading to paldea, and i think it's gonna get really interesting and good from here.

i am also in awe about how.... harsh the explorers are. like look at it this way: jessie and james fail at catching pikachu for 25 years, and they never get fired from team rocket. amethio fucks up once and is immediately removed from the mission of getting liko's pendant. that's HARSH.

speaking of which, i think it's cool we finally know amethio's intentions behind it, but it seems kinda weird. we still don't really know what gibeon wants from it, so... my guess is that they're just very... greedy? not to mention, they treat the boss like their god. not in a funny guzma way, like in an actually serious "wow this is kinda messed up" way. amethio almost gets into an argument but is immediately reminded he's in the presence of master gibeon. whatever gibeon says goes, whatever gibeon wants, he gets... that's how i'm seeing it. i think this is pretty crazy, and i'm kinda liking it.

i still think this is gonna be the best pokemon season in all honesty. that's definitely not me saying the previous seasons were bad because of ash (duh, i love ash), but i just feel like this season is gonna feel way more structured and coherent than pokemon journeys, and i think they're gonna do a lot more than they previously did. we still get to explore different regions but it's not like in one episode they're in hoenn, then the next they're in johto. it's actually going to be coherent, and i love that. i don't think there was a better way to make this narrative than have everyone live on an airship.

i'm excited for what we're gonna get in future horizons episodes! this is gonna be really fun!

Have you imagined a ChemistryShipping (I imagined this name for the Serena x Ash x Clemont throuple being "chemistry" both a scientific term to reflect Clemonts brainy mind and a pun to indicate a loving and healthy romantic relationship to reflect Serena's romantic nature) Swordfighter Ash secretly going out by night, with Pikachu always by his side, to fight criminals and rescue people in distress as if he lived in a swashbuckling movie and making Serena and Clemont very worried since he loses so much sleep?

That sounds perfect, oh my god.

Not only is Ash losing sleep during his escapades as Sir Flash, but he’s also getting hurt (you can’t win every battle, even if you’re a dashing swordsman). In addition, Pikachu is also losing more battles due to lack of sleep.

This eventually leads to Serena putting her foot down, declaring that as good as it is to help people in need, he can’t sacrifice his sleep every night. It’s hard to convince him to slow down though. After all, there are people and Pokémon in danger!

Clemont manages to come up with a solution. He builds a drone that monitors the town/city nearby to tell them if there is someone who needs help (and since he had more time to prepare, it’s less prone to exploding than his other inventions)That way, Ash does not have to patrol every night. In exchange, Ash had to tell them where he’s going and when he will likely return whenever the alarm does go off. This system works out rather well, so now Ash can still fight crime and actually get some sleep.

Starbomb: Starbomb

Eeeeeyup.

So, to ruin my credibility even further...yes, I am a Game Grumps fan. I started watching them out of curiosity in 2016 and watched them on and off for a while until I fell in the trap of those damn Sleeping Aids videos uploaded by their fans and I've been watching them semi-regularly since.

Are they perfect? Fuck no. They suck at games and Egoraptor is the bad Mike Tyson simile of previously problematic content creators. But you already know I'm a NSP fan and I like Danny's singing voice and some of Egoraptor's raps (have fun finding the ones without the n-word!) are pretty skilled and he has a genuine love for the genre and, somewhat more importantly, those games he's bad at. So there, my justification for being a Starbomb fan...despite the fact I've uploaded Starbomb songs before so this really shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. Since the album was uploaded for free, I'm going to upload the whole thing below so feel free to read after every song so that everyone can know how to feel after every song. Now...COMMENCE THE CRINGE!

Intro

God, this whole thing is nostalgic. The guys introduce themselves and Arin does a rather impressive paraphrasing of a Fair Use segment that shows that 1. since this album is a parody and 2. they acknowledge they don't own the characters, they don't technically need to be sued. as of January 12, 2024, Nintendo and others apparently agreed.

Song Score: 7/10

2. I Choose You To Die

This is the gate: if this song turns you off, you're probably going to hate this album. Starbomb doesn't care about canon, your feelings or even making clever jokes about the franchise: they thought it would be funny if there was a story about Ash going around fucking up Pokemon, going to jail, getting bailed out and shot in the sack by Pikachu. Is it funny? By my standards...meh. It didn't really grab me. My own description of the song is honestly funnier to me than the actual song itself. I don't hate it but it's definitely not how I would introduce someone to the band.

Song Score: 5/10

3. Luigi's Ballad

Here we go, the real shit: with special guest vocalist Rachel Goddamn Bloom (Crazy Ex Girlfriend creator and star), we get crassed up versions of Mario, Luigi and Peach as the brothers fight over her in a hilarious ditty. Arin is having fun, Danny is competent and Rachel is perfect, like always...I'm actually glad that Peach didn't pick a brother at the end because, as douchey as Mario was being, Luigi didn't give an actual reason for being attracted to her. Maybe he was just as shallow as Mario only he was more devious about it? Who cares? Peach is going to fuck a mushroom.

Song Score: 9/10

4. It's Dangerous To Go Alone

A bit darker but still a well-done song (Philly shout-out! Woo! We suck less than Raccoon City!). They gave Danny the lead in this and it works, Arin's freak-out at the end as Link is legitimately chortle-inducing. Chortle-inducing I say. Sexual predation has never been (subjectively) funnier.

Song Score: 9/10

5. Mega Martial Problems

Might be my favorite song on the album. Mega Man and his wife (Roll? Some chick? Who cares?) are being given marriage counseling (sex counseling, actually) by Dr. fucking Wily and Mega Man kills robot masters to get toys to fuck his wife with, ending with Zero being killed by his Mega Dick. Arin is a good rapper and Danny manages to sing distinctly as a german doctor and Mega Man's wife (he raps a bit at the end...it's actually listenable). Seriously, if you're not the biggest Mega Man fan and if canon isn't important to you, go check this song out.

Song Score: 10/10

6. Rap Battle: Ryu Vs. Ken

Hur hur, Ryu rules, Ken sucks, hur hur. That doesn't bother me though. What does bother me is the content of Ryu's lyrics: he's supposed to be talking about how badass he is and he keeps going on about his dick? Forget canon character, if he was just some nobody he would sound like he's eight years old! Once you hear it, you won't unhear it. It's just a bit...desperate? And I can't help but feel like I'm supposed to take him seriously. This song is fine for the most part but...yeah, definitely one of the weaker ones on re-listens.

7. Crasher-vania

Pretty funny song about Simon Belmont committing hate crimes against the creatures of the night having a Monster Mash. Fun fact: I don't know the story behind this but Arin and Danny did a censored version of this song for a MST3K telethon. See it here:

8. The Book of Nook

On a re-listen, this is a competently hilariously fucked up song about Tom Nook being a dickhead mafia landlord...but I'm detracting a whole point for the use of the archaic slur "mongoloid". I guess they didn't want to use "retard" and tried to be smart about it. Sorry guys; try harder.

Song Score: 8/10 (I still gave it a high score so maybe I'm part of the problem.)

9. Sonic's Best Pal

Probably my other favorite song on the album. The perfect Sonic darkfic: Tails snaps due to his insecurity (Hey! A canonical character flaw; I'll wave as I see it fly by.), gets on drugs, fucks whores and shoots Eggman. They knew what they were going for and they got it. Kudos, Starbomb.

10. Regretroid

Emily Hughes (pretty neat singer and apparently a friend of Danny's...I don't know) stars as an understandably grumpy Samus against the Nice Guy (TM) Kraid in this epic star tale. Awesome tune with a hilariously dark ending (I mean...it's not like the puppies were destined for a good life if space dragons were just handing them out in baskets.)

11. Kirby's Adventures In Reamland

Either this or the Tom Nook song was the first song recorded for the album and, unlike Tom Nook's song, Starbomb hates this one. Me? Another "meh"....it's crass for the sake of crass but the guys are doing that the whole album so I'm not really affected by it. They spitroast Kirby and namedrop Meta Knight and Dedede. That's it. Move along, barely anything to see here.

12. The Simple Plot of Final Fantasy 7

Ha! Take THAT, convoluted JRPGs! Seriously, this is one of the better songs on the album and I love how they try to turn Cloud into this smooth talking self-aggrandizing asshole (not a far cry from him in canon, mind) and how they didn't call Ryu by name. He's Ninja Gaiden now. Perfect way to end the album.

13. Outro

Just the guys being dorks and teasing the second album (Player Select; won't be reviewing that one so I'll spoil my opinion for you: it's not as good as the first one.). It was always fun to hear them fuck around. Reminds me a bit of their Sleep Aids.

Three favorite characters from three different fandoms.

(I am not doing Sandman because that is like the focus of almost my entire Tumblr and let's have this be interesting! Also, I cannot separate Dreamling. They are one character. The end.)

1. The "been my fav since I was a kid" character: Storm (Ororo Munroe) from the X-Men comics and animated series (her portrayal in the movies has been meh at best). She has been my favorite superhero since I was literally like 7 or 8 years old. There is just something about her regal take-no-shits attitude and how her powers literally put her in sync with entire planets. (She can attune to planets other than Earth, too!) Also, who else gets to whore (extremely affectionate) around with Wolverine, Gambit, Black Panther, AND Nightcrawler? Yeah, you read that right. Oh, and PEAK badass moment when she got pissed at Emma Frost in one of the early issues of X-treme X-Men and just picks up a fucking broken off metal pole, pins Emma (now with diamond skin) to a wall with hurricane winds and... ah, just read it yourself:

2. The "this is how I got into fanfic" character: Lestat de Lioncourt is a little shit and I love that for him. No, I haven't seen the most recent series. Which I am still sad about, but also I am quite happy with the Lestat that lives in my head, riding his motorcycle while listening to Bach's Goldberg Variations in his headphones (actual scene from The Vampire Lestat). I wrote my first fan fiction (just for myself, which never saw the light of day) in IwtV fandom. God, I haven't thought about those fics in FOREVER. I actually wrote a Lestat/OFC/Louis fic that had double penetration before I actually knew that DP was a thing that exists in reality. I was literally making it up as a fantasy. So, while it was not on purpose that my handle can be abbreviated to DP, I am ENDLESSLY tickled by the fact that it can. (So is my spouse.)

3. The "character I would saw off a limb to get more of in fandom or canon" character: Ash Tyler from Star Trek: Discovery. I love him, your honor. He has one hell of a Tragic Backstory™️ with a fascinating plot arc who becomes a goddamned space spy and is hot as absolute fuck. I would climb the actor who plays him, Shazad Latif, like a goddamned tree if I got with 50 miles of him. Just look at this man:

You mean I am stupidly attracted to a British actor of South Asian descent with big brown eyes, long-ish black hair, and sporting facial hair? *shocked Pikachu face*
