people who love you for who you are will try to understand, even if they have no knowledge of asexuality.

when i told my aunt i thought i was ace, she kind of dismissed me. she didnt think it was real, or thought i was just misidentifying some other feeling.

a couple years later, after she also learned i was a lesbian, she apologized to me for how she had reacted to me coming out to her as ace and even said the label may apply to several people she knows.

there were many factors contributing to her attitudes towards queer identities, which i wont get into here, but she worked through them for me and came to accept and understand me. this is not the case for a lot of people and even other family members of mine, but i hope you can have the same experience with your loved ones. there are people out there who are willing to unlearn biases for you <3
