Pride Month Aspec Headcanons Day 12
Jango Fett - Attack of the Clones (2002) - Asexual
(Last Star Wars one, promise)
The man. The myth. The legend.
What better ace icon than the man that literally respawned asexually lollllll. Literally allows a clone army to be made from his DNA just so he gets a single son without having to have sex. 100/10. No notes.
Does this make the entirety of the clone army ace? No. That's not how cloning works. But once they find out what asexuality is and hear about how Boba was the main "payment" from the Kaminoans, they'd probably have a laugh, too, just like me and all the other people who decided Jango's ace
Anyway. Everyone should at least admire Jango for the ace icon George Lucas accidentally made him into. It's the best.
#the works of b#asexual#ace#jango fett#ace jango fett#asexual jango fett#asepc headcanons#pride month#this one cracks me up#who better to be ace than the donor of the clone army's dna himself?

Mother: Is Kuroo asepc?
Me: What brings this up?
Mother: I don't know, I feel like many of the other characters show some attraction or some inherent interest in the managers, but he seems to be the only one besides Kageyama that has shown no interest at all.
Me: *thinks about it* I see that.
Mother: I know this could imply he is gay, but he just seems so uninterested in romance in general.
Me: My mutuals and I have aspec headcanons for him. I personally interpretate him as ace because I ship KuroKen, but one of my mutuals sees him as aromantic asexual.
Mother: *nods* I think I headcanon that as well.

pride month questionnaire!! 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 24, 26, 28, 29, and 30
1. what is your sexuality? Asexual, specifically gray ace 2. what do you identify as? Aroace/gray aroace 4. do you have any preferences? You said I could say preferences on literally anything, but I’m gonna do something pride-realted. So, aspec headcanons! I’ve noticed that I tend to more often write Tycho and arospec and Wedge as acespec, though I’m totally open to either being either/both. 5. share a positive memory about coming out! Gotta be when I finally wrote out a long email explaining everything and sent it to my grandma, and when we talked after, she told me she’d discussed it with my grandpa and he said “not everybody feels that sort of thing.” So just, shocking grandpa coming in with the understanding!! 6. how do you feel about pride month? I’m having kind of a hard time with it currently becuase there’s so much going on in the world, but I think it’s great overall, and I look forward to celebrating many more. 7. do you participate in pride related events? any other events? I guess not a lot? I’ve been to an ace group a couple of times, but that’s about it. I definitely want to do actual pride events in the future, y’know, when everything isn’t cancelled. 8. how do you feel about lgbtqa roles in media? There needs to be more of them! Especially more aspec stuff, especially more aro stuff. And please please textual qprs! 9. do you feel pride in who you are? Pride is still a bit hard, but I think I’m pretty well along the road of acceptance, at least. :) 10. who has been your supportive idols in your self discovery? @aphorisnt @aphorisnt @aphorisnt best queer mentor!!! It was her asking me “do you think you might be on the asexual spectrum?” that got the ball rolling for me at all. 12. what sort of advice to have you lgbtqa teens? Something like don’t feel pressured to fit into a certain group. You don’t have to be straight or cis or allo just because it seems like “everyone” else is. There are people out there like you, and though the journey may be hard, you will find happiness and acceptance. 13. have you come out to friends and family? I’m out to my closest friends and family, so a handful of people. All the ones who really matter to me. 14. how do you feel about the term “coming out”? I don’t mind it. 16. any tips on coming out? If I could advise my past self, I’d say don’t put it off because you’re afraid of how it might go. I was lucky enough that it went very well, and I spend a lot of extra time agonizing over it that I didn’t need to. 17. what’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to lgbtqa characterization in media? Aromantic people basically not existing. Ace people not existing outside of books. 18. what’s your favorite parts of lgbtqa characterization in media? When actual identity words are used (asexual, aromantic, bi, pan, etc). I respect that some real people prefer not to use labels, but especially in the case of asepc identities, a lot of readers/viewers aren’t going to know that’s what’s going on unless it’s spelled out. And it makes it impossible for bigots to insist it isn’t there to begin with. 24. how do you feel about the term “queer”? I like it and freely use it for myself. 26. favorite lgbtqa actor/actress? Can I say IDK about actors and replace it with every aspec author to ever write an own voices book? 28. what’s the most annoying question you have ever gotten? Dear jesus. I mentioned aromanticism to a coworker today (at the time in the context of a character rather than myself) and got both “is that like objectophilia?” and “is it because they love themselves too much?” *massive eyeroll* 29. how do you feel about receiving questions about your sexuality/idenity? I don’t mind them all as long as they’re respectful and well-intentioned. 30. what is your romantic affiliation? I’ve been assuming heteroromantic (and heterosexual), but the longer I identify as aspec, the more I wonder if I’m really just not attracted to anyone at all of any gender.

Question; Are the asepc characters canonically or headcanonically aspec? 😅 Was just curious
This blog features both! We have one tag for canon aspec characters, and another tag for aspec headcanons. If you’d like to submit a character to be featured on the blog, just be sure to specify in your ask whether the character is canonically aspec or if it’s a headcanon!

Pride Month Asepc Headcanons Day 9
Commander Fox - The Clone Wars (2008) - Aromantic
Since there is so little about Fox and basically every version of him out there is just headcanons, this is one that I frequently enjoy reading about. He gets a front and center view of how alloromantic civilians and senators are and he's probably Very Fed Up with it. Give him a break 2k24
However you headcanon him, go ahead and have fun. I don't really have too much of an explanation for this one like I do for the others. It's mainly the vibes. Some people picked up on them before me, I saw it, and decided to adopt it myself.
But yeah. I just think aro Fox is neat :)
#the works of b#commander fox#aro commander fox#aromantic#aro#aspec headcanons#pride month#aroallo#love when hcs are just vibes and me thinking it's neat#not every hc has to have tons of thought put into it#and that includes aro hcs too. just let characters be aro sometimes. it's pretty cool

See, the reapsn Johnny is seen as "the aunoy" and not Peter is wasy
People can't accept Johnny might be asepc (perosnla headcanon based on evidence above for the record) or that the Hot Rich Blond can just not be into casual sex (which is completely valid)
Peter is always seen as a Jewish Nerd who is a Loser so how can he be a atbpy into casual sex/hookups/relationships?
At least, that's what I've seen *shrugs* even in the Fandom they keep perpetuating these ideas which confuses me a lot
I made some of these collages a while back to compare the difference between the way way Johnny and Peter have been framed in the comics over the years. Johnny is shown repeatedly being kissed without his consent.
Whereas Peter… is the opposite:
The few consensual Johnny-related kiss scenes that we have seen throughout the years (and they are definitely few and far between for a character that has received the label of “Playboy” — let’s not even get into the fact that he’s been in 3, count ‘em 3, truly serious relationships) can hardly be called steamy; and he is rarely ever shown postcoital — again, odd for a “playboy” — and when he is the tone is never a happy/content one.
And then you’ve got Peter. Sex-positive, happy, frequently shown in pre and post love scenes.
The contrast is impressive and continues to fascinate me, especially when looked at within the framing of Johnny’s queer-coding that has been occurring since the 60s.

Pride Month Asepc Headcanons Day 1
Oswald Cobblepot - Gotham (2014-19) - Asexual
We're kicking off Pride Month with Oz since I'm currently in the middle of my Gotham rewatch and I can't get this off my mind. It's more technically semi-canon, but I just had to include him.
Relatable moments:
Telling his mom he "doesn't date" due to aceness in an allo world + other outside factors just generally combining to not wanting to yet. Soon followed by, despite this, catching feelings for a friend and it ending with said friend getting a gf about the time feelings were to be confessed (my situation thankfully didn't end in murder. it actually just ended in nothing happening since I never said anything since no murder happened haha)
Queer mother-figure that helped in formative years (that is the only way my softball coach is like Fish tho lolll)
Wearing ace flag colors subconsciously literally all the time
Fed up with straight people's drama
I, too, would adopt a slightly violent child from an orphanage on my own (I love Martin so much)
#asexual#ace#oswald cobblepot#ace oswald cobblepot#asexual oswald cobblepot#pride month#ace headcanons#the works of b#the parallels btwn my former crush and ed are more than i would've thought#thankfully he is not a serial killer...he's just a nerd. among other small similarities#anyway. that all went down in december (geez why are there so many parallels)#but i'm friends with him and his gf still#and he is none the wiser and never will be#and i got over it#nygmobs could never their storyline is insaneeeeee#so. yeah. if you actually read the tags hope you enjoyed that story lol

Pride Month Asepc Headcanons Day 20
Jo March - Little Women - Greyrose
Not to sound like your standard white girl, but when I read Little Women, I connected a lot with Jo and related to her quite a bit in regards to her dreams and independence.
It was more than just that, though. And I know there's the lesbian vs aroace debate with her just like there is with Barbie. However, I see her more as greyrose.
I'm probably going to do a terrible job explaining this, but when I read the story, I actually really like her relationship with The Professor. She doesn't seem to experience rose feelings often but they finally aligned with Fritz. A once in a lifetime chance and they made it work out.
This story gave me a lot of hope. At the time I read it, I was wondering if I was greyromantic as well as ace. Jo's story and the fact that she ended comfortable and happy on her own terms, which just so happened to also include Fritz, brought me comfort. It helped me know that, no matter what, so long as I do my best to do what makes me happy, it'll all turn out. It also gave me hope in someday being able to find someone who accepts that my asexuality makes me approach relationships differently and we'll be able to make it work, too.
#the works of b#jo march#greyrose jo march#greyrose#aspec headcanons#pride month#i wasn't entirely sure if i picked the right flag for greyrose but this is the one that came up#on lgbtq+ wiki#jo's in a funny position because you have people mad she's not with laurie#and then people who think she's a lesbian#and people who think she's aspec#lousia may alcott how did you manage to create that lol
