listen I'm a hard believer in total name anarchy but I am still begging white parents to take at least a minute envisioning their babies as fully realized fully grown human beings before filling out that birth certificate

#i have encountered so many kid names recently where its like 'you picked this name bc it pairs cutely with instagram baby photos'#as someone who has an unusual name i think its rad to get creative w names but i think you gotta spend at least a little time #imagining them as a peer when you do so #i especially notice it with young girls ive seen some young girls with extremely diminutive names in a way where its like #the name itself doenst make me mad as much as the thought that your parents never imagined you as an adult woman when coming up w it
