#as my current original story i'm obsessed with

@aikoiya Thanks for sharing your maps! I don't share all your theories but you put all of this together in a very toughtful and convincing way, it's really interesting. Amazing work ^^
Kasuto for the Hidden Village is very clever, and I can totally see the entrance in Trillby Plain. I guess Highland Stable once being Ordon was pretty obvious :D
I really like that your map has Mogma settlements in the Depths! I'm currently working on an alternate sequel story for BotW (because TotK's story was extremely disappointing to me, and not only because of the Zonai) and I had the same idea. I'm even thinking of basing their designs partly on Rauru and Mineru, because there's no way I'm keeping the Zonai in my story but they look a bit like Mogma to me.
(I would not be in a good position to tell you you're too obsessed or thinking too hard about this since I've been doing the same thing 😁)
I completely agree on the Forgotten Temple! I never thought it was the Sealed Temple, the locations and the statues don't match at all. Faron is a good bet but I tend to believe the Sealed Temple was replaced by the Temple of Time, or at least I think that's the case for the one in OoT. Following this I think the Goddess Statue landed on the Plateau (though what happened to it after that is a mystery). Now that you mention it it's true that Ordonian clothing shares similarities with what we saw on Skyloft.
Since you mentioned Castor Wilds, did you know that the original name in Japanese is actually Tabanta Wilderness (Tabanta Hikyō)? In French it's also called Marais de Tabanta, which is why I always associated it with the Tabantha region in BotW (especially the area around the Thunder Plateau). Rito Village is near, which is interesting considering that the wind element was related to Castor Wilds in MC. The original Japanese name for the region in BotW is also Tabanta (same thing in French). I have no idea why things were done differently in English, but I thought this could be of interest to you!
I love what you said about Ganon chasing the Hylians into Akkala, and if I remember correctly Hyrule Historia confirms that the kingdom becomes smaller and smaller throughout the Downfall Timeline. Your reflexions about the timeline split in OoT are interesting as well, I never thought about what would actually happen to Adult Link's body. I always assumed it just disappeared which caused the Triforce of Courage to break, but your what if scenario is definitely worth thinking about.
About the merging of the three timelines, I don't like it because I find it really interesting and unique that we get to see different versions of Hyrule (what other franchise does something like this??) and I can't really wrap my head around how it would actually work. Like what would happen to the people who live in the Downfall and Adult Timelines in your scenario? And what will the people that remain know of Hyrule's true history?
I also love that the timeline split makes the Hero of Time such a central figure (he's my favorite Link 😇), and I feel like it would make things kind of meaningless to just erase the different timelines? Like why does it matter if OoT Link lives or dies if a Goddess will interfere later to merge the timelines together? What's the point of Hyrule shrinking down in the Downfall Timeline if it's just going to end up in the Depths anyway?
I don't know, maybe my brain is just not made for this kind of gymnastics ^^
I agree with you on the Depths, I was really intrigued at first and I thought we would meet a new race or something down there (and yes I hoped to fight Poes). But then nothing interesting happened and it only became kind of boring, which is really sad considering how much they could have done with it. (Oh and I didn't like the treasure chests with items from other games, it felt really disrepectul to previous lore to just stumble upon the Mask of Majora or the Hero of Time's tunic like it was nothing big. Not to mention it also was recycled DLC items from BotW).
Yes seeing a Hero take the Master Sword out of WW Ganondorf's statue would be amazing! But not the weird ancient Zonai Hero please 😆
The ruins of the Arbiter's Grounds are indeed on BotW's map, but I think they really look just like ruins and not like the top of the pillars 🤔 The Arbiter's Grounds could have been destroyed for many reasons without BotW being at the end of the official timelines, it could even have happened because of Vah Naboris and her century-long hike around the desert. Or at least that could be the case in my own fourth timeline 😆😇 Also the original Japanese names are not very specific: 処刑場跡 (Shokeijō Ato) in BotW = Ruins of the Execution Grounds and 砂漠の処刑場 (Sabaku no Shokeijō) = Desert Execution Grounds in TP (there's a pun there because "sabaku" can mean either desert 砂漠 or judgment 裁く depending on the kanji used, here it's desert). Given the location there's a very high likelihood that this is the same place, but it could also be something specific to the Gerudo. The translators went with Arbiter's Grounds in both cases though.
Honestly I have infinite respect for Aonuma's work on the Zelda series but his comments in recent interviews have been kind of weird (like saying older fans only cling to the classic Zelda formula out of nostalgia, can't we just think it's a recipe for better games?). I think he also said (or was it Fujibayashi?) that the Zelda team didn't really want to bother with the timeline anymore because it limits their creativity, so this "era of myth" thing really sounds like an excuse for them to do whatever they want. The latest version of the timeline they displayed at Nintendo Live 2024 doesn't even link TotK to BotW (TotK didn't really care about what happened in BotW anyway), and the two games are clearly separated from the rest of the timeline.
So yeah it looks like they never had any intention of placing BotW/TotK anywhere on the timeline, so I'll stick to my own headcanons ^^
My problem with the Zonai is that they were shoehorned in almost every aspect of Hyrule even though we had never heard about them before (and likely never will again but I'm more than fine with that). Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if everything wasn't so uninteresting or confusing (in my opinion).
You know these mysterious dragons everyone loved in BotW that could have been a reference to Skyward Sword? Now they're most likely three Zonai dudes who each swallowed a magical rock. The first king of Hyrule? Zonai (but when does this take place exactly? Can Sonia and Rauru even have children? Who cares). The Ancient Hero from the tapestry? Guess what, he was a Zonai (was it Link weirdly reincarnated as a Zonai? Or someone completely different but still able to wield the Master Sword? No answer). The Sages? Rauru gave them "Secret Stones", and now they're just a bunch of anime teens with superpowers (instead of having an actual role like guarding the Sacred Realm/the Triforce). You loved the Sheikah tech? Well it's all Zonai now, even if we didn't see any of it in the past except for that one construct at the tea party. Nevermind that the Divine Beasts were so important in BotW, they just vanished. Sky Islands as in… Skyloft? Nope, Zonai stuff that makes no sense. The Hylian royal family being descended from the Goddess Hylia? Now they're also descended from Rauru (if this is even possible). The Depths? Of course the Zonai were down there too, but they left nothing worth running in the dark for hours.
And I could go on. We don't even know what happened to the rest of the Zonai and why we only see Rauru and Mineru. They also complicate Hyrule's pantheon because the game refers to them as gods, but their relationship with Hylia or the Golden Goddesses is unclear. Rauru doesn't even seem to know anything about the Hero, the Master Sword, or Zelda's divine power. What a mess. Maybe it's only that the Hylians perceived them as gods, but it's not clear.
The Zonai are not my only issue with TotK's story. The secret stones don't even make sense, Zelda is the Sage of Time but the stone she gets is Rauru's (Light). Ganondorf overpowers everyone with his stone alone for no reason, to the point of breaking the Master Sword (the Triforce of Power itself couldn't do it!!). What happens when Link breaks Ganondorf's stone (conveniently placed on the Demon Dragon's forehead)? Does Hyrule loose one Sage forever? And if the three dragons were once Zonai, are there more secret stones than the ones given to the Sages?
You see that's why I avoid talking about TotK on my blog, it always turns into an insufferable rant. But that's because I have too much love for LoZ and I need it to make sense. Which is why I'm creating my own version for my own enjoyment, but maybe I'll share it one day.
Paludanémones might be a bit long? Marais des Anémones means the same thing and sounds more natural (I think).
I like Confluances, even though it can look like a misspelling since only one letter is changed. But yes it could work as an alternate version of French ^^ With Confluans there's a risk of the ending "s" being muted by French speakers ("Confluan"). That's why I wrote it with a K, it made it look more foreign and I thought it might encourage to pronounce the "s". But maybe this is too much detail, otherwise it can work!
Hi, sorry if this is a bit rude. 😅 I guess that I was just wondering. How would Jabul Waters, Zora Cove, & Crossflows Plaza be named in French?
I'm trying to give Jabul Waters an interesting name that works to go with my hc & I came up with "Jabuleaux." And Google Translate tells me that Crossflows Plaza would be Place des Flux Croisés. And, I'm seeing that Anse is the term to refer to a cove &, if that's true, then would Zora Cove be Zoranse? At the same time, somewhere else, it said that Anse actually means beach.
And, I believe that a town by a swamp would have cher, quier, bren, brin, or Hor- in it?
I'm sorry if this is weird... 😅
Hi! Don't worry it's not rude or weird at all! I offered to help and I'm happy to do so :D
Did you check the official French translations? I had a surprisingly hard time finding the French version of the map online so here's a screenshot I took myself:
Jabul Waters = Eaux de Jabule (this one only appears when I zoom out)
Zora Cove = Baie Zora
Crossflows Plaza = Place de l'Estuaire
In case you didn't know the Zelda Wiki often lists names for places or characters in various languages in the "Nomenclature" section of its pages. It's very helpful especially if you're searching for the original Japanese names. If we look at at the different names for Crossflows Plaza we can see that a literal translation from Japanese would be something like "Exchanging Place". I checked the Jisho dictionary and it seems to be an accurate translation, though "Place for Cultural Exchanges" would be more meaningful.
It's not exactly a good name in English so it makes sense that the localization team would come up with something like Crossflows Plaza instead, which in my opinion does a very good job of stating that this is both the place where the river meets the sea and where the two Zora tribes traditionally meet each other.
Other European languages all settled for variations of "Estuary Plaza" ("Place de l'Estuaire" in French), which is fine but looses the "cultural exchanges" aspect of both the original name and the English translation.
I've been trying to come up with a French translation of "Crossflows Plaza" but it's not that easy. To me "Place des Flots Croisés" or "Place Flots-Croisés" would sound better than "Place des Flux Croisés", but I still find it a bit weird ("flot" meaning flow, tide or stream). "La Croisée des Flots" is another option if you agree to get rid of Plaza/Place (it means "the intersection/junction of streams"), but I don't think it works very well as a name.
You could also mix words to create a name the same way it was done in English, something like "Place Croiseaux" (croiser/cross + eau/waters). If any of my French speaking followers is feeling inspired, please share your ideas! :)
(I just thought of "Place Cruciflot" and found it too funny not to mention 😆 maybe it sounds too much like crucifix)
In French we also have the word "confluence" that has the exact same meaning as it does in English: either the meeting of two rivers or a gathering of some kind. So to me the most obvious translation would be something like "Place des Confluences" or maybe "Place Confluence", as it would preserve the dual meaning, but it's not very fancy or creative. Maybe we could simply change the spelling to something like Place Konfluans, the same way "Village Côtier" (Seaside Village) is spelled "Village Kothié" (Seesyde Village). But it doesn't look like a French word anymore so I'm not sure that's something you'd like.
As for Jabuleaux, it can work but I prefer the official translation "Eaux de Jabule". Same thing for Zoranse, we would say "Anse Zora" or "Anse des Zora". The official French translation is "Baie Zora" (Zora Bay), which I think is more appropriate given the size of the sea inlet (in my understanding an anse/cove is a small baie/bay and isn't very deep). I think maybe it should have been bay in English as well instead of cove, but I might be wrong! Also I believe "anse" isn't used as often as "baie" and might be confusing for most people, so I would go with "Baie Zora".
I'm not sure where you found this information about swamps and town names? I didn't find anything to confirm it but I might not have looked in the right places.
French towns are often ancient and their names can derive from other languages such as Celtic, Occitan, Flemish, or regional dialects, so that's a very difficult question and I'm not sure I can give you a satisfying answer ^^
I still did a little search and found an Old French word for swamp, "palud" or "palu", that still appears in some town names such as La Palud-sur-Verdon, Saint-Pierre-la-Palud, Lapalud, etc. (today we say "marais" or "marécage"). You might be right about "bren", it could be something like muddy in Gallic.
There's also "vign" or "mign" (from Celtic), as in Mignéville or Lévignac, or l'Île de Migneaux on the Seine river (this one's in my city!).
Near where I grew up is a town named Hazebrouck, it literally means "hare swamp" (brouck/broek = swamp in Flemish). For a bit more French flavor you could maybe use -broucq or -breucq instead of -brouck.
I think the vast majority of French people have no clue about all of that (I didn't except for the last one and it's more Flemish than French), so I'd say don't oversweat it ;)
And that's all! I hope you'll find this helpful ^^

We as a fandom need to open our hearts to the insane comedic potential of Sir Pentious being included as a background character in stories taking place in the "old days" before Vox and Alastor's falling out. AND the comedic potential of one-sided Sir Pentious -> Vox.
Why?
Canon!Sir Pentious is attached to his era's aesthetics but he also wants to be "hip and cool" (see pilot episode; Sir Pentious as the how do you do fellow kids meme) and join the "Almighty Vees". When did he start wanting that? He's not a media demon trying to keep up with his audience and be a likeable public figure. He's a mechanic trying to conquer Hell by force thanks to his machines and obviously relishes in acting like a villain (fear me! I'm so evil! I'm the architect of destruction! etc. etc).
This is very different from the Vees' approach - maintaining a perfect public image, insidious manipulation tactics... Vox threatens Alastor in the show, but the Vees clearly haven't built their power through turf wars, which is and has always been Pentious' one and only strategy. All the machines we've seen him make are war weapons (+ the Egg Boyz who do his bidding, and help him operate those very weapons). Voxtek probably sells weaponry too but that is more Camilla's domain, so it would be more logical for Pentious to try and join her.
Pentious' and the Vees agenda and interests aren't aligned, so why is Pentious so desperate to join the Vees?
there are many reasons why Pentious could want to be part of the Vees besides the one I'm gonna talk about but you know what MY agenda is:
Vox is Pentious' idol. Pentious is an inventor, an innovator. He would have loved waking up in Hell with a mechanical body he can upgrade however he wants and finds the whole concept fascinating.
He's not against new technology, as his creations clearly go beyond what people could have had invented in his time despite their "steampunk" aesthetic (see: the effing death ray). So I think his current "limitations" are more a matter of him having to stick with what he knows best because it's hard to keep up with the constant stream of new tech. This is why he's more than impressed with Vox's extraordinary ability to adapt to change and master new technologies again and again. He's a fellow innovator! That's one reason for Pentious to be obsessed with the guy.
And if you think obsessed isn't the right word, think about this: Sir Pentious repeatedly challenges Alastor to fights even though he's clearly outmatched and it's an incredible risk to take considering what Alastor does. Pentious is OLDER than Alastor, he was there when he broadcast the most powerful Overlords' scream all over Hell. Plus, losing always leaves him in a very vulnerable position (without his best weapons). Is it madness? Hubris? An obsession for Alastor? No!
Sir Pentious to Alastor: Silence! Now Cower! For when I've slain you, the Almighty Vees will finally acknowledge me!
Sir Pentious thinks defeating Alastor is the only way the Vees will finally acknowledge him. No matter how dangerous it is, he has to try, for the Vees (Vox). Just like he took the risk of angering the Princess of Hell to get in Vox's good graces. This says a lot, for someone as paranoid as him, who doesn't trust anyone who is "too nice" to him.
If Hazbin had more episodes there should have been one about Pentious struggling with the fact he disappointed his idol and told to KHS 👀
(btw this is old news but we know that one of the Hazbin episodes that Viv originally pitched was about a science contest organized by Voxtek in which Pentious and Baxter competed against each other! Pentious could have done that after ep2!)
Anyway, back to the comedic potential of it all & Vox's arrival in Hell. Can you imagine his reaction as a newly fallen Sinner, when he's hanging out with Alastor (aka following him like a lost puppy?) and he meets Sir Pentious for the first time? Like sure, Hell is full of insane people but Alastor obviously has a Reputation and no one ever challenges him. And suddenly... Hm... Alastor?? There's an airship with a giant cannon pointed right as us?? Firing a DEATH RAY?!
It's also so funny to imagine Sir Pentious being obsessed with Alastor and considering him his archnemesis back in the day, only to slowly become obsessed with Vox instead and only caring about defeating Alastor because he thinks Vox will like it. It starts with Sir Pentious trying to "gather intel" on Alastor's new "ally", spying on them or sending his Egg Boyz to do so (and we already know great he is at spying so you can guess how that goes lol), and the rest is history.
Alastor loves attention so he probably let Pentious spy on him behind bushes from time to time if only because it's very entertaining to watch him try to be discrete and make his shadow tap on his shoulder. How hilarious would it be if Alastor noticed Sir Pentious' growing crush on Vox but not Vox's crush on him? Also, Vox misunderstanding Pentious and Alastor's relationship and thinking Pentious is a weird obsessive ex... The world is a stage and the stage is a world of entertainment!

Drawing Ryōmen Sukuna
Development notes
This post has been in the making since last year, before the manga has reached its current arc. My aim was to respond to comments that pointed out that my version of that time didn't look like the one in the anime. I calculate everything I do and the way I do it. My current goal is to share my thoughts on the development of my take on him - simply because I'm a nerd when it comes to anatomy and I love figuring things out. It involves a lot of thinking, questioning, analysis, dissecting information and building theories. So I totally understand if it's not anyone's cup of tea.
MANGA SPOILER WARNING
The very beginning
I used to have a serious case of lack of self-confidence. My earliest art of Sukuna dates back to 2021, but it always felt like my skills are not worthy of this particular character. I never shared my art. I was also struggling to find my artistic voice. I was obsessed with the idea of semi-realism, but even if I managed to pull it off after weeks of stylisation practices, I didn't like the results.
Due to personal reasons, I stopped trying to draw him for a long time.
The development of "my" version
It was an entirely conscious decision to draw him differently.
The top reasons for the change was that I didn't want to sexualise him in his host, Yuuji, who is a minor. Back then I thought he inflicted the deformation on himself (extra limbs, eyes, etc), for the sake of efficiency, and I was curious what he looked like before that - or what he would look like in a civilised environment.
During the process, I considered a number of factors:
the beauty standard of the other JJK men - I wanted him to fit the lineup - his original appearance made him stand out quite much
in a setting where he adheres to the rules of society, more or less, I believe his MBTI personality type (ENTJ) would dictate a lot of his choices when it comes to appearance, at least to a certain extent. I thought he would choose to have an appearance that fits the beauty standards of the era
I kept his tattoos because it's a very distinguishing feature of him, but I also exercise freedom in the way I draw them, to make them as stylish as possible
Reincarnation
I used to believe once he reincarnates, his proportions would be closer to that of a "normal" human, even if he has some extra limbs. However, his size and features are above and beyond of what we are used to, and even the story emphasises their malformed appearance. So a a whole new era of Sukuna started in my art. I chose my favourite manga panels of him and mix-and-matched the most attractive features into a figure that I consider on the fine edge of monstrosity and unconventional handsomeness.
Even when I draw him with a regular number of limbs, I keep his usual mass and proportions. I dubbed this form "true gains" form.
I also realised that some of the tattoos Yuuji's body displayed was a product of the partial reincarnation stage, like we see it on Tsumiki's forehead.
NOTE: Did anyone notice that Sukuna is getting progressively more and more human/handsome in the manga? When he took over Megumi's body, I also noticed that as the story progressed, he started to look older and more mature. I'm curious of it was a conscious decision.
Twin dilemma and speculations
According to the Japanese wikipedia page, the mythical figure Sukuna could have been a conjoined twin. Despite my extensive digging in the matter, I was shocked by the recent lore drop.
My question: what does Sukuna look like in a universe where he did not absorb his twin in the womb during development?
It hasn't been confirmed, but I find it very possible now that he was born with his extra limbs, eyes and mouth, as well as the deformed, wide features. (...as opposed to my first theory about him altering his own body for the sake of efficiency)
This, however, would mean that in a universe where both him and his brother are born healthily, he would look different. There is the obvious lack of extra arms, eyes and mouth - but I believe he would also be closer to the JJK beauty standard of men, as far as proportions go (eg. more narrow face, anime-esque nose, larger eyes).
At first I was hesitant to accept this idea, as I'm very attached to the 4-arm hulk / "true gains" form now, but then I realised: this would mean that "my"version of him actually has logically explainable place in at least an alternate universe.
Thank you if you got this far.
I may edit this post later. Let's see where the story takes us.

Ohhhh would you ever write more about the witch reader x az. I loved it! I want to see feyres reaction :)
I might! I think I'd be open to making it like a series/au bc witch reader x Az makes me so soft 🥰 and I'm currently obsessed with the song that inspired it bc the song is so beautiful and whimsical and makes me wish I could experience a love like that
if you haven't read the original imagine, you can find it here.
here is a small drabble of feyre's reaction 😊 :
When you and Azriel return to the river house, Feyre is in the sitting room. She's lightly bouncing an agitated Nyx, who teethes at a cool wash cloth. "I know, baby," she coos at the infant.
Her blue-gray eyes are on you as soon as you enter and they light up when she notices Azriel's hands are ungloved and one of them is holding on to yours, fingers intertwined with another.
"How was the trip?" She asks, her lips curling up into a knowing smile.
"It was fine."
"She almost cursed Eris."
You're turning to Azriel with a playful glare and his wings twitch in response, his usual stoic demeanor now much lighter and Feyre knows it's all because of you. "It could've been a nice little hex that'd make his eyebrows fall off, you know. Just something to get him off his high horse."
Feyre laughs at the image that comes to mind. "I hope Eris didn't give you much trouble?"
"He shot an arrow through Azriel's hand."
"No."
You and Azriel exchange another look, missing the way Feyre's eyes grew distant for a brief moment.
**
They're holding hands! Feyre nearly screams into Rhysand's mind and he can feel all her excitement and joy through the bond.
He's sitting outside by one of the tables in their garden with Cassian and Mor on either side of him. If it were up to him, he'd be inside by his wife. But it was her who had kicked him outside, not wanting to overwhelm Azriel and you. "Out you busybodies!" She had exclaimed as she ushered them all out of the house.
"Hey, Cas," he grins. "You owe me twenty coins."
Cassian nearly spits out his lemonade. "What?" He sputters with wide eyes. Mor leans forward in her seat.
Rhysand then shows them the image Feyre had send him. It's of you and Azriel bickering and fussing over one another like an old married couple.
"Let's just call it even." Cassian insists, setting his cup down. "I am the one who got rid of all the dandelion root from her apothecary shop."
"Hey! Don't take all the credit. I am the one who kept her distracted!" Mor cuts in, dramatically throwing her hands in the air. "And also the one who kept Azriel from suspecting anything when Feyre had asked for an escort. Do you know how hard it is to sneak things around those two?"
"Thank you, Mor. Your hard work is much appreciated here," Rhysand says, his grin growing wider as he rises from his seat, knowing it'd only irritate Cassian further.
He catches the glare Cassian sends his way. "20 coins," Rhysand reminds him, holding his hand out expectantly.
"In a way," Cassian begins, not wanting to accept his loss. "I helped you win the bet!"
"That's not my problem." Rhysand replies with a smug shrug.
Cassian grumbles and digs into his pocket. He throws all twenty coins at Rhysand's face, who easily intercepts them with a wave of his hand. They fall gracefully into the palm of his hand instead.
Mor laughs as she also rises from her seat. Twenty coins is nothing to them. It's barely enough to buy a cheap bottle of wine.
Cassian follows shortly after, the three of them scurrying inside and wanting to catch a glimpse of you and Azriel holding hands in person. Although, they find you nestled on the couch with baby Nyx in your lap. You rub the elixir you had made earlier over Nyx's gums, smiling when you feel the babe relax in your arms, as you tell Feyre all about your venture earlier.
Azriel is seated on the armest of the couch right next to you, cutting into your story when he deems necessary. Everyone takes note of the way his hand is resting on the small of your back and one of his wings instinctively curls around your smaller form. They also take note of the lingering scent of your bond in the air, stronger now that you both have acknowledged the bond. Cedar and lavender.

Do you have any if recommendation?
Ooh! I have really, really bad memory(!!) but these are current faves that I have played/replayed recently that I can think of. A lot of the authors are also THE BEST HUMAN BEINGS EVER. So, double recommendation.
I probably missed a bunch out, so take this as a non-exhaustive list! In no particular order:
(Edit: Added some descriptions but yeah I got a little unhinged so I'm sorry nothing makes sense or if the quality of the write-up went down over time/did not actually give you any useful info)
WIPs with demos
Citadel, @bouncyballcitadel (I think of all the IFs on this list, this one makes me sweat the most. And I've said it once and I'll say it again: the dialogue is so snappy and well-written, and characters are SO DAMNED LOVEABLE.)
Infamous, @infamous-if (I've been manifesting Band/Musician IFs for the longest time, and then this popped up! I've even played Choice of a Rockstar, that's how desperate I was... Anyway, this is legions better than that. Angsty ex routes are my kryptonite, and Seven is just. Inevitable.)
Defiled Hearts: The Barbarian, @defiledheartsblog (I went into this wanting something juicy and fun/historical—and it's all of those things, but I didn't expect it to be so damned funny, too. The ROs are all impeccable.)
Raiders of the Caravan and Apartment 3-3, @leftski-if (A'ight listen, fantasy slice-of-life is my fave genre, and these are IT. Like, everything I never knew I needed in my life, and SO cozy/wholesome, with a cast of characters that I want to befriend in real life.)
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: An Affair of the Heart @doriana-gray-games (First off, the customization in this game is INSANE, and the branching too. I've replayed a couple of times and the little variations I discover each time just blows my mind. Secondly, it's so funny and written so well. Ngl I'm not a Sherlock fan but that's just testament to how amazing this IF is.)
When Life Gives You Lemons, @when-life-gives-you-lemonssss (Modern slice-of-life with an adorable kid, a bunch of hot ROs, CC. Hill's humor, what can I say?)
Golden @milaswriting (Really interesting world-building, one of the coolest fictional cities I've read in an IF, AND I'm obsessed with the ROs, in particular K de la Renta. Also Mila is such an awesome writer, I'm beyond excited for @beyondthegame.)
A Tale of Crowns @ataleofcrowns (This game is beautiful, polished, and SO exciting. Honestly, it looks like the kind of game created by a whole-ass game studio and would cost $50 to buy, it's that good. I really got swept up by this IF—probably played it all in one go.)
Rougi @rougi-if (Again, another game with scrumptious visuals/UI and also is just so well-crafted. I love the premise too, it's so original and fresh.)
Scout: An Apocalypse Story @anya-dev (Unfortunately this one might be on hiatus but I am/was really, really obsessed.)
Wayfarer @idrellegames (Love the game mechanics of this one, and the visuals. Probably controversial, but I like the D&D / random dice effect. And I also like the fact that it feels like an old-school RPG.)
Chop shop @losergames (The premise is all I needed to be sold, really—I'd always wanted to buy GTA as a kid but my parents were like NO WAY. Anyway, this IF did not disappoint, and let me live all my childhood dreams.)
Edit: AHH! How could I forget, one of my recent faves, Folksaga @folksaga-if (Lush atmospheric writing, super unique premise—norse mythology, plus I'm head over heels for Katla).
Completed IFs
Butterfly Soup 1 and 2 @brianna-lei (these are completed and I will never not promote them. Honestly the most adorable, wholesome, funny sports/coming-of-age IF I've read)
Elsinore: After Hamlet @lapinlunairegames (Insanely cool premise, insanely cool execution)
The Thick Table Tavern @manonamora-if (I love bar/tavern games, and this one actually lets you mix drinks! Instant fave.)
Other HGs/COGs I love: Slammed, Tin Star, Fallen Hero, If it pleases the court, A Player's Heart (these last two are so underrated, though I guess cause it's mainly wlw)

Hey folks. My name is Kanagen (It's pronounced Ka-na-ngen. Kana is fine.), and I'm a writer. I mostly write sci-fi with a more or less sapphic bent, and I'm not shy about putting lewd content in what I write because fuck petty moralism.
I'm active in the Human Domestication Guide writing community, where apart from being an author (see below), I'm also a Loret, which means I help maintain and update the lore of the setting, help new creators with questions about it or how to fit a story into it, and so on. All of my publicly available fiction at the moment is HDG content, but I plan on working more on my own original settings and concepts in the future.
I have a patreon, where I post my current long-form project's drafts chapter by chapter, once weekly. I also occasionally talk about my writing process. I'm hoping to expand content there in the future as well.
I don't use social media very much because I remember what the internet used to be like before walled gardens and techbros ruined it. (You kids really don't know what you're missing.) Nevertheless, the life of a freelance writer rather demands I put myself out there somehow, so here I am. Ask me questions, behold the weird stuff I reblog, and try not to get too parasocial with me. I'm just a weird lady who puts words in funny shapes.
Bibliography
Long-Form Fiction
No Gods, No Masters - A revolutionary leftist copes with the subtle differences between her own idea of the perfect world and the just-a-little-off version of it the Affini offer. First novel-length work in the Tillandsia Trilogy; highly suggested you read this before The Floret in the Mirror and especially Freedom's Ember.
The Floret in the Mirror - A mystery/thriller about identity, digitization, and impossible simulated lewdness. Content warning for amnesia resulting from traumatic brain injury as part of the setup. Sequel to No Gods, No Masters.
Freedom's Ember (ongoing) - Sixty years after the Affini conquered her world, a woman clings to her independence; sixty years after being frozen for cryogenic flight from the Affini, a woman struggles to discover who she really is when freed from her father's influence. What is freedom, and what does it mean in the context of the Compact? Sequel to No Gods, No Masters and The Floret in the Mirror, conclusion of the Tillandsia Trilogy.
Sui Generis - A martian attorney living on Earth finds adjusting to life with the Affini easier than most; she was already keeping her wife as a pet before they arrived. The real question is, where's that strange jealousy coming from?
Short Fiction
Mainspring - A Terran secret agent is captured by the Affini, trapped by artist for whom his body is a canvas, and she means to make of him her magnum opus. Wind-up doll content, and probably my most commonly cited story for "this rewired my brain"-style reactions.
Reading the Leaves - A tea-obsessed barista, an affini new to humanity, and a sweet (if awkward) romance culminating in a very raunchy ending. Entry for the HDG February Fluff Fic Jam 2024.
The Fifth Fundamental Force - This story is a silly joke. It should not be taken seriously, though many inevitably do.
Aftertaste (stalled) - A former quadrillionaire and epicure who just barely avoided domestication is tracked down by an affini culinary anthropologist who wants to use his brain to reconstruct a lost flavor using his long-buried memory - he was the last human to ever taste bluefin tuna. This fic is only sporadically updated because the stars must precisely align for my brain to be in a state to write boyliker fic. Sorry, I'm just really gay, y'all.

Rayman Together Community Spotlight #3 - Clairiphi
Rayman Together Community Spotlight #3 - Clairiphi
Introduction:
Have you ever made your own Rayman comic book series? Growing up, I spent thousands of hours outside of playing the Rayman series creating comics and drawings, making my own adventures for Rayman and his friends. However, I never could create something as captivating and truly unique as the Rayman Nightmarish Series. Rayman Nightmarish stole my heart and is something that I have followed since 2020. Every few weeks to months, I eagerly anticipate the next chapter. There is something so personal about the art style and original characters, which I fell in love with. Every strip is full of personality and charm. I had the pleasure of meeting Clairiphi, AKA Chiara, during my visit to Ubisoft Milan. In person, Chiara is just as amazing as her series. So when I decided to make this Community Spotlight Series, I just had to make a segment on Chiara and her Rayman Nightmarish series.
1. Please introduce yourself.
"My name is Chiara; I go by Clairiphi on the web, and I'm a storyteller from Sardinia (Italy) who dabbles into drawing to accompany her stories. I hope one day, not too far from now, to become a professional comic writer if the comic industry in Europe gives me the chance. For now, I sadly remain an enthusiastic hobbyist."
2. What are you currently working on in the Rayman Community?
"I’ve been publishing my fan comic Rayman Nightmarish for a few years with the frequent help of my partner Francesco (@thepinna on Instagram and Cara), who is a professional illustrator and studied as a comic artist as well. Without his teaching, I would be nowhere near where I am with my skill level. He taught me how to storyboard, how to efficiently use a drawing tablet, and helped me train my writing skills. He also offers his direct artistic input from time to time, when work hours permit him (for example, while I did the storyboards and pencil sketches for chapter 11, he did inks and colors)."
3. What is your inspiration behind Rayman Nightmarish?
"One December evening I was particularly bored and haven’t been writing since the beginning of high school, but that evening I was coming from a long period of frustration regarding the school path I chose, and coincidentally, I was also back on my Rayman obsession because I was playing Legends and Origins. I had this fairy character (Waaty) and a horrific, almost lovecraftian villain (The Lighteater) in mind for a while, and all of a sudden I said, “You know what? Let’s stop daydreaming and write an actual story!” I took a huge empty notebook from my desk drawer, and a bunch of years later, here we are!"
4. For any newcomers, what is the story of Rayman Nightmarish about?
"With Rayman Nightmarish, I aimed to narrate a classic Rayman adventure, with the humor, the combats, the voyage across fantastical places... And zombies! Yeah, I love horror, and of course there was going to be a twist. But no worries! This is still a story for all ages, like Rayman always was after all. An ancient evil called The Lighteater is rising from the depths of the sea and is going to bring a dark plague that will soon turn The Glade of Dreams into The Glade of Nightmares. Of course it is Rayman's job to save the day once again, with the help of Globox and a few unexpected friends, like Waaty, the livid dead fairy with strange clairvoyant abilities...and many others along the way! Will he be able to do it this time? Very likely knowing his records, but this could actually be more challenging than he thought."
5. Is there anything new or unreleased you can share?
"I’ve actually been working on a new original fantasy series for a while. The story is already all planned, I'm in love with the characters and every process I came across during the planning of the plot. I hope with all my heart that I'll be able to bring it to life, not as a webcomic but as a fool-blown series for comic stores’ shelves."
6. What made you fall in love with the Rayman series?
"When I was a little girl, I didn’t have much social skills, and my first ever playmate, before my brother was born, was my dear cousin, who one day came to me with a copy of Rayman 3; his parents got him somewhere during a trip. That game changed my brain chemistry because as soon as I saw the fairy council level, I was hypnotized, and I wasnt even the one playing! The music, the scenery, the jokes—I don’t know, but every time we played it, I came home wishing I was still in that world. Then a few years later, my cousin got a PS3 and gave me and my brother his PS2, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Rayman 3. I was so happy! My first ever “comic” was a very cringy Rayman fanfiction I wrote in middle school, kind of an ancestor of Rayman Nightmarish in a way, haha! I thank my cousin every day for showing me that game that evening, and if he were still here today, I bet he would think Rayman Nightmarish looks pretty sick (especially in comparison to his middle school predecessor)."
7. What is your favorite Rayman game?
"I think it’s pretty clear by now that it’s Rayman 3 since it comes with so many dear memories, but I really liked playing both Origins and Legends in co-op with my brother when they came out. They were really fun to play with others! While I’ve always considered Rayman 3 like an intimate journey to take alone in a fantasy world, as silly as it sounds. Haha!"
8. Who is your favorite Rayman character?
"I’m going to be very unoriginal and say it’s Rayman because it’s true."
9. Tell us about your time at Ubisoft Milan.
"It was better than Disneyland! I felt like a kid again being able to hang out with a team of professionals behind a whole videogame. Not only was I happy, I felt seen, like, “Woah! These guys know I exist and even asked me to come here, hello???” Pretty surreal experience!"
10. Other than playing Rayman, what are your favorite things to do?
"I’m going to be completely honest; I haven’t been playing a Rayman game since the dawn of time. Haha! Back when I was a little girl, I wasn't much of a gamer and only played Rayman games because I didn’t care for the others. Now I love my switch, and I found many more games I love to spend time with. Rayman still has a special place in my heart, because it’s thanks to it that I found out I was actually meant for writing stories. Two of my other favorite things to do (besides writing and drawing, which are obvious) are reading books and watching movies, and in both cases, my favorite genre is horror. I also like to play fantasy TTRPG games like D&D or Pathfinder from time to time; they are very stimulating for the imagination."
11. Tell us something interesting or funny about yourself that we might not already know.
"I’ve actually graduated (both bachelor’s and master’s degree) from a music conservatory in classical piano and never taken a single class in any art school. Sometimes I feel stupid about my past choices, and sometimes I’m glad because learning to play an instrument on a professional level has helped me build discipline and time management skills that helped me greatly in the writing process."
12. Do you have any hidden talents?
"I don’t know much about "talent,” but I do love to sing in my car, and I can memorize the entire script of a movie if I like it a lot. Haha! I remember when I was in elementary school, I used to recite Madagascar to myself when it was past bedtime, but I didn’t want to sleep."
13. What is one thing you can’t live without?
"Besides my air conditioner, I think I would go insane if something happened to any of my writing devices. I keep all my notes scattered between my computer, my iPad, and many physical journals. While clouds are essential, sometimes I just need an actual piece of paper and a pencil to figure out a scene or a plot point."
Want to discover more about the Rayman Nightmarish series? This is my link tree where new readers can find the best social media platforms to either catch up with the story or stay tuned for any exciting news:

I've also been thinking about it/her/they/?
(I tried incorporating elements of Mandroid final form / Dweller / Chaos Terran protoform design into her but the result doesn't look very nice... And her red eyes no longer stands out like in the original color scheme. Would really appreciate some advice!)
This is not a serious AU, but I've been thinking about Wreck-gar and Transmutate as Chaos Terrans in Earthspark.
Wreck-gar already has a very similar origin as the chaos terrans! A bot born from the shard of a Cybertronian birth artifact, whose life was later endangered (see TFcon 2024) when the shards were summoned to restore the artifact.
For Transmutate, the script describes their birth as "a shock wave of chaotic energy EXPLODES". That's probably just a description, but it definitely reminds me of the Chaos Terrans. Although they were not born from a shard, their stasis pod was damaged.
So two chaotic yet well-meaning kids born on Earth from a damaged artifact... Their stories could potentially fit very well with the Chaos Terrans.
Also I just like them very much and want to throw them into the show I'm currently obsessing over :3 (Unfortunately Earthspark isn't treating the Chaos Terrans any better (honestly in some sense worse) than how TFA treated the Allspark shard bots or how BW treated Transmutate... But they will live a happy funny long long life in my heart.)
You can find Wreck-gar's design here:

Meet the Team!
Who are we?
Just a few Interactive Fiction enthusiasts who love sharing their interests with the rest of the internet!
But we're also:
-=-
Heyo! I'm Aj (she/her)
I got into IF through the app called Choices way back in 2017 and since then there was no turning back. It wasn't until last year when I got into text-based IFs. A friend on tumblr reblogged 'Defiled hearts', it caught my interest and here I am deep down in the trenches of IFs.
Listing my favourites isn't an easy thing cause there are so many I love. So I will list some that have been on my mind for a while: Infamous, Press Play, College Tennis: Origin Story, Drink your Villain Juice, Golden, The Golden Rose, Our Life Now and Forever, We Wretched Creatures, TWC , The Lonely Shore, Blood Choke and Midnight Sun.
I mostly help out with finding IF news and game updates in the wild.
-=-
How you doing?!? I'm Bex (she/her) *on hiatus
I started my journey with Voltage (now Love365) and dating sims or Otome games on my PSP Vita *sheds a tear*. I honestly don't know how I came upon IF, but I fell in love with Our Life: Beginnings & Always around 2021?
My favourites? Hmm, currently it would be: Love and Leases, Adoriel's Tears, The Abyssal Song, Keyframes, Our Life 2 and a bunch of Kickstarters that I can't wait for!
Personally, I'm married with no kids! And I work full-time as an administrator. Boring, I know.
In regards to the Zine, I normally do the formatting. Basically taking everything the peeps have found and putting it all into the Zine. I try and write some of the Highlights and try to dabble in the Editorial (if my work doesn't get edited).
-=-
Hello!!! This is Briar! (she/her)
I am one of the interviewers!
I got into IFs this year, and boy, my eyes were opened, and I got so obsessed that I decided to write my own (The Mighty Shifter). My personal favourites are TWC, Infamous, God-Cursed, and Viatica.
I am a uni student who is studying English literature. What else...? Have an amazing day/night!
-=-
Hey, hi and hello! I'm Dion (they/he)
I started my journey into IF through Episode, but due to poor non-female MC representation, I soon began to look for something else. My friend then introduced me to text-based games through The Wayhaven Chronicles and Mind Blind. I've been going deeper down the rabbit hole since!
I'm literally majoring in interactive media. IF is my life now, send help. (/j)
Some of my favourites would be: Mind Blind, Shepherds of Haven, Reanimated Heart, Seven days in purgatory, Chronicles of Taldun: The Remainder, seekL, LLLLL (aka LATEX, LEATHER, LIPSTICK, LOVE, LUST) and a lot of the stuff DOMINO CLUB does. (There isn't only IF, but that's what I usually go for. Definitely check them out if you're into creepy indie stuff!)
I'd call myself the jack of all trades concerning the zine. As of now, my main job is to be the social media guy and to do the different exports (playable Zine, Tumblr, PDF/.txt). But I also help out with news-searching and compiling + editing stuff for the editorial, column, highlight, letter and thanks portions.
-=-
Hey all, this is Jenn (she/her)
I am a youth sports coach (fútbol, softball, basketball) based in Los Angeles. I am in the process of applying for a master’s program (Sports psychology).
I did write and code a couple of IF games but never finished. I am a perfectionist and I couldn’t publish something not up to my standards. I started reading IF a couple years ago and I couldn’t possibly name my favorite. Some of the most memorable IFs are: The Exile, TWC, Crown of Ashes and Flames, Infamous, WWC, Zombie Exodus: SH, The Golden Rose, The Fernweh Saga, and Crown of Exile. I can definitely add more…
Basic responsibilities: Scouring the internet for IF news and frequently updating our existing database. I honestly enjoy the challenge. On a good day I can find upcoming IF titles and newly released demos. It’s so exciting to find new IF because I know someone will eventually see the same potential I do in that new IF.
-=-
Ssuuuupppp, I’m Sir tuskhany (He/Him)
I am one of the lovely interviewers who’ll be asking questions, you know grilling fellow authors on their IF, WIPS and favourite characters. The usual. As to why or how I started, I gotta say its cause of books and great authors like Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. And their respective series wheel of time and basically the whole Comsere universe. I tried following in their footsteps writing a few books of my own. But like every writer most of these ended up being WIPs I either abandoned or stopped. Still I didn’t let that stop me and started posting some of them, I am the writer of Borne of the sands a static webnovel with a few chapters and Dusk and Dawn my current ongoing project(Still a work in progress so forgive the grammatical errors. T-T).
My favourite series are the Keeper of the Day and Night, Infamous, Wayhaven Chronicles and Blood Moon.
The current story I’m working on was inspired by these however most of my inspiration came from static or interactive cyoas like the Slayers v4, Supernatural Investigator, Demigod v4, A Traveller!s Tale and Universal War. If you haven’t heard of them please give them a go they are amazing.
Have fun and stay posted!

VN Update
Ok, here's a more in-depth look at the visual novel (still a WIP) since the last post was too short. Bunch of dev stuff + in-progress screenshots below the cut.
CGs so far:
(still working on these + the car one + the bgs ;-;)
Some of the bgs might just be blurry polarized irl photos (kind of like og higurashi), I'm not drawing more backgrounds than I have to.
Graphic design (is my passion):
(the cursor cycles between different pairings and the default anti-centrism ball depending on what you hover over/which screen you're on)
Misc. :
I've got the general story + scenes already mapped out but writing and coding everything might take a while (aiming for a ~10k word script?, currently have 2.5k). Hoping to have something playable by Q2 2024 (This originally said March lol).
QnA
q: how done is it?
a: ~30%
q : plot summary?
a: You (the player but also just Me) fall asleep while studying and hang out w/ the extremists and watch them bicker with each other. It's all a dream,, or is it?? (very clever meta writing)
q: can I help with development? :3
a: I'm hoarding all the creative control, it's all mine. (sorry). Playing it when I finally get around to releasing a build + adding some feedback would already be more than enough help. :]
q: why make this at all?
a: (what no friends does to mf) I thought It'd be fun to work on! I got into centricide around mid-2020 and while I thought I left it behind.. idk my obsession with it is back now I guess. (real answer: authunity. I'm not even joking those two are my only reason for doing any of this.) also I just genuinely like visual novels as a medium (massive weeb).
#centricide#jreg#art tag#ty to everyone who said nice things/typed excited keysmashes in the tags btw i read all of them#any other q's (or if you want to bother me about the project when I inevitability miss my deadline in march) can be sent to my askbox#seriously tho i really like talking about this send some questions in

By chance do you have a list of all the cc in your builds? I'm obsessed with the old style you make but can't recreate it with my limits
You just reminded me that some time ago I wanted to make a post where I'd share links, divided into historical/aesthetic styles. Mostly because I often can't find the original mods and their artists lost in the corners of the internet. I may come back to this idea later. I currently have about 40 GB of mods that I've been collecting since the game came out, so I'm not sure I can name absolutely everything I use. But I can give a list of those artists whose works I use in my buildings all the time.
Here we go:
• TheJim07 (furniture, fine arts, building stuff)
• FelixandreSims (building stuff and furniture)
• ArtysSims (fine arts)
• Cliffou29 (furniture)
• Lili's Palace (furniture, building stuff)
• Anachrosims (building stuff and furniture)
• Regal Sims (furniture and fine arts)
• AnnaDeDanann Stories (furniture)
• Stereo-91 (building stuff, furniture)
• The Marble Mortal (furniture, fine arts, building stuff)
• ChâteauSims (furniture, fine arts, building stuff)
• NaviDesings (furniture, fine arts)
• Zx-ta (The Sims Medieval conversions)
• Thesensemedieval (game conversions, medieval themed cc)
• ShinoKCR (Art Nouveau - 1 | 2 | Art Deco - 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | French Quarter - 1 )
• Pinkbox AnYe (dark academia, shabby chic, cottagecore, french/provence chic, deco food)
• Kerrigan House Designs (victorian, dark academia, vintage, food/cooking deco, cottagecore, shabby chic, themed sets)
• Sims4Luxury (dark academia)
• sims41ife (different vintage objects)
•Milja Maison (dark academia) Inactive. You can find their sets on the internet
• Hydrangeachainsaw (different vintage objects)
• Lady Moriel (magic stuff/game conversions - Dishonored set 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |)
• Mara45123 (TES: Skyrim conversions)
• Etheric (Resident Evil | Devil May Cry conversions)
• Natalia Auditore (vampire, gothic)
• Syboulette (gothic, dark academia, vintage chic, themed sets)
• HyggeSims - Bruxa CC Set
• Jennisims (vintage, retro, antique decor)
That's not all CC I use in my builds, but most of it. Some of it is maxis match, other is high poly. There are standalone objects and mods that require meshes so you must pay attention. There are many mods whose authors are inactive, their blogs have been deleted, and their collections are scattered all over the Internet so I can't share them. But you always can find interesting stuff yourself.
Hope it helps~

What would your favourite choice of the games interactive stories be? Would you have a favourite type? Romance, Fantasy etc. and did any of the inspire you with the ones you are currently writing? 😁
Oh boy! This is going to be a long answer, brace yourself lol
Let me start by saying that I have a degree in English literature (in fact, I'm going to do a PhD on it), so reading, in general, is one of the core activities of my life.
As for text adventures, even if not from Choice of Games Ltd., I'd like to mention a few inspirations: my passion first came from the original Choose Your Own Adventure series, and I still remember which numbers obsessed me as a child: Mountain Survival #28, The Dragons' Den #33, and more than any other, Space Patrol #22! (The latter may have also fueled my unhealthy obsession with Star Trek TOS, actually). For those unfamiliar with this fantastic book series, the genres of the three books I mentioned are, respectively, adventure, fantasy, and sci-fi. This gives you an idea of how varied my tastes are...
Later on, I discovered interactive fictions and text adventures. Dude, it was a dream come true. I started with Adventure ('76, never finished it, of course) and Zork ('79, never finished that either… of course. How damn hard were they?!). Then Mystery Mansion ('78), Castle Adventure ('82), and too many, many others. I'm a sucker for Sorcery! from inkle, and I deeply loved Magium (RIP Chris, you won't be forgotten). For my Italian-speaking friends, I also really enjoyed the Fra Tenebra e Abisso series (although its current status is unknown).
But back to CoG-related things. I've read a lot, and I'd probably be faster telling you what I didn't like! As you may have figured out by now, I don't have any particular genre preferences as long as a story is well-written, though horror-thriller stories usually grab my attention more easily.
Important note: I've read a lot of stories and, with a few exceptions, I liked most of them. To avoid writing a too-long list, here are the published stories that really impressed me:
A Crown of Sorcery and Steel,
A Midsummer Night's Choice,
Blood for Poppies,
Blood Moon,
Broadway: 1849,
Choice of the Cat,
Choice of the Vampire,
Donor,
Doomsday on Demand (1 and 2),
Gilded Rails,
Golden Rose: Book One,
Jazz Age,
Lies Under Ice,
Life of a Mercenary,
Life of a Space Force Captain,
MetaHuman Inc.,
Noblesse Oblige,
Paradox Factor,
The Evertree Saga (all four books),
Rent-a-Vice,
Revolution Diabolique,
Siege of Treboulain,
Tally Ho,
The Daily Blackmail,
The Dragon and the Djinn,
The Fernweh Saga: Book One,
The Fog Knows Your Name,
The Gray Painter,
The Grim and I,
The Ghost and the Golem,
The Lost Heir,
The Midnight Saga: The Monster,
The Parenting Simulator,
The Play's the Thing,
The Soul Stone War (1 and 2),
The War for the West,
Tudor Intrigue,
Vampire Regent,
Vampire: The Masquerade (all of them),
Way Walkers: University (1 and 2),
Welcome to Moreytown,
Werewolves: Haven Raising,
Zombie Exodus,
Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven.

Okay, that was… a lot. As for direct inspirations, I don't have any direct ones, but I can say I felt like writing a post-apocalyptic story after reading Doomsday on Demand! Other than that, I guess the collection of narrative, text adventures, and interactive fiction I've read have led me to where I am now.
Damn, it took me hours to write this answer. I hope it's satisfying at least! Thanks for asking ☺

Chapter 2
Monday, the first day of the week, the day that everyone dreaded. It meant the end of a great Weekend and the start of a long and exhausting forthcoming week ahead.
You pulled into the driveway of Woodsboro High school, your ‘67 Chevy glistened in the sun’s light. You rolled the windows up, opened the door and stepped out, grabbing your bag in the process.
Double clicking your keys’ button, your car beeped, indicating it was now locked.
The parking lot was littered with News Vans, Journalists and their Cameramen, along with police cars and Officers. You narrowed your eyes, confused, seeing all the commotion.
“What the fu--” You uttered, cutting yourself off, seeing the auditorium sealed off.
“(Y/n)! Over here!” You hear Tatum shout and you jerk your head in the direction.
“Hey, Tate..” You trailed, seeing Sidney next to her, “Hi, Sid..” You nodded, greeting them. “Do you two have any idea what is going on?” You asked, gesturing to everything around you.
Just as Tatum was about to answer, Gale Weathers, and her annoyingly pitched voice began talking.
“The small town of Woodsboro, California, was devastated last night, when two young teenagers were found brutally murdered.” Gale took a breath before continuing her speech in front of her cameraman. “Authorities have yet to issue a statement, but our sources tell us that no arrest has been made, and the murderer could strike again..”
Your head was filled with questions, who were the students that were killed? What if you were the next victim? Why hasn’t the killer been found yet?
You gulped and your face tinted pink from nerves.
“Do you believe this shit?” Tatum suddenly spoke, jolting both you and Sidney from your thoughts.
“Tatum what is going on?” You and Sidney both asked in unison.
“I was going to answer earlier, but Gale seemed to have your attention more.” Tatum licked her lips, and adjusted her bag over her shoulder. The blonde glanced at you and Sidney, “Wait, so you really don’t know?” She asked, her eyes wide.
“Yeah, no shit, why else would I be asking?” You rolled your eyes, sarcasm evident in your voice.
“Okay, okay…” Tatum mumbled, “Casey Becker and Steve Orth were killed last night.”
“What?” Sidney began, “No way…” You finished Sidney’s sentence for her.
“And we’re not just talking killed. We’re talking splatter-movie killed.” Tatum made hand motions and began walking, you and Sidney followed her lead.
“Ripped open from end to end.” The blonde looked at you, brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear.
“Casey Becker, she sits next to me in English.” Sidney gasped.
“Her boyfriend, Steve Orth, sat next to me in Drama..” You frowned, looking at Sidney.
“Well, not anymore…” Tatum sputtered.
“Ugh, that’s too bad…” You sighed, rubbing the back of your head.
“It’s so sad…” Tatum looked at the ground, kicking at a stone in her way. “Her mom and dad, they found her hanging from a tree, her insides on the outside…” Tatum placed her hands behind her back, rubbing the soles of her arm. “And Steve, God, he was found bound to a chair and his stomach ripped open..”
“Oh, my God..” You groaned, sadness lingering in your voice. “Do they know who did it?” You asked, side-eyeing Tatum.
“They have no idea. They’re fuckin’ clueless.”
You, Tatum and Sidney walked up the school’s steps.
“They’re interrogating the entire school…” Tatum exhaled before listing off people, “Teachers, students, janitors--”
You butted in, “They think it’s school related?” You raised a brow, gripping the side of your arm, nails digging into your flesh. The anxiety of it all, started building up in the pit of your stomach. You felt nauseous.
Tatum stopped in front of you and Sidney, “They don’t know…” Tatum glanced into your hues before looking at Sidney, “I mean, Dewey was saying this is the worst crime they’ve seen in years. Even worse then--”
“Tate…” You warned, gesturing for her to choose her words carefully when speaking to Sidney. Yes, you may not like Sidney as much, but she doesn’t deserve to be reminded of her mother’s rape and murder.
The bell rings, signaling the start of class, making the conversation dwindle.
Tatum sighed, jabbing her two index fingers together, out of nervousness. “Well.. It’s bad.”
--
You tapped your pencil against your desk, staring beside you.
Little do your friends know, Steve was also your ex-boyfriend. After you guys had a falling out, he had left you for Casey. You didn’t want to suffer the embarrassment of anyone knowing you were the dumpee and not the dumper, plus, he was secretly seeing you while he was in another relationship before Becker. You didn’t want anyone to judge you for it. You felt guilty as is, but the way he was able to charm you with his words and physical touch, you couldn’t help yourself, but keep going for more. However, as far as anyone else knows, you guys were just close friends.
You moaned, letting your head droop, “Jesus…” You whispered, drumming your fingers, trying to settle the sick feeling in your gut.
“(Y/n) (L/n), it would appear to be your turn.” The teacher said, looking at you, and the rest of the class turned their heads to meet your gaze.
You nodded, looking one last time at the empty desk next to you, where Steve used to sit.
You grabbed your books, pencil case and water bottle, shoving them quickly into your bag.
--
“Who’s up next?” The principal asked.
“Um, (Y/n) (l/n)..” Dewey looked over his papers.
“Wait, wasn’t she the one who found Maureen Prescott last year--” The principal began, but stopped, seeing you in the doorway.
“Ah, (Y/n). How have you been?” He asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“I’m okay.” You smiled half-heartedly, sitting down on the blue-cushioned chair.
“Hi, (Y/n)..”
“Hello, Sheriff Burke, Dewey…” You inhaled, feeling the nerves begin to rile back up. You tapped your foot off the ground, shaking your leg, feeling your hands sweat.
“Uh, that’s Deputy Riley today, (Nickname).” Dewey winked.
“How is Everything?” Sheriff Burke looked you over, seeing how anxious you were.
“Um, could be better…” You mumbled, looking down.
“Huh, why’s that?” Burke leaned forward. You sank in your chair, feeling rather intimidated.
“Look, we’re gonna keep this very brief, (Y/n), alright?” The principal placed a broad hand on your shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “The police just want to ask you a few questions, okay?”
You nodded.
“(Y/n), were you very close to Steve Orth?”
‘Shit..’ You thought.
“Uh, yeah, yeah, I was…” You wiped your hands off your jeans, trying to dry them off.
“How close?” Burke, scribbled down on his board, awaiting your answer.
You gulped, looking at Dewey, silently praying he’d step in, seeing how apprehensive you were, but he wouldn’t. Of course he wouldn’t, he was doing his job.
“We dated…” You started, “Last year for a couple months…”
“How come the relationship ended?”
“Uh, we--, um, we had a falling out.”
“What type?”
“Jesus--” You groaned, rubbing your thighs with your hands, “He was seeing me behind his then girlfriend's back, we slept together a few times, okay?” You came clean, “He wanted it to end, but I didn’t, but he ended up leaving anyway, leaving for Casey. That’s it, I swear.” You teared up, “I feel so bad about the whole situation as it is, poor Brooke, she didn’t know anything, but he left both of us for Casey..” You placed your hands over your face as quiet sobs escaped your lips. “Am I in trouble?” You peaked through the creases of your fingers, a blush forming across your face.
“For having an affair with him? No, of course not, but that does move you on top of my suspect list.”
You whined, misery coating your mind, “Why? I didn’t kill him..” You uttered, wiping your nose with your light-blue sleeve. “I was hurt, but that doesn’t mean I’d kill him for being scorned…” You trailed, meeting Sheriff Burke's eyes. “I couldn’t hurt a fly, let alone a human being…”
“Uh, Sheriff?” Dewey stepped in, “I mean, she’s right, there’s no way she could do something like that.” Dewey glanced at you.
The Sheriff sighed, “We just have to ask you a few extra questions, that’s it.. I didn’t mean to frighten you like that, I should’ve worded it differently. It’s only because you were close with him, you were his mistress at one point, so it’s somewhat suspicious.” He rubbed his chin, “Mistress was upset by Steve breaking relations off, so Mistress sets a plan for revenge. You catch my drift?” He looked at you, and you slouched.
“Yeah..” Was all you could muster out, you sniffled, hugging yourself, waiting for more questions to be asked. “Alright, let’s get this over with…”
