performed another aubrey monologue in class today!!

it went well!! this one was about catcalling, based on the stuff i've posted about on here about how i literally never know if i'm being catcalled, they were 4 shorter bits that i put together into like a 4-part suite, each kind of doing a different angle on the topic

also every story was 100% real (the skeletor thing i posted, the time someone called me a fag and i didn't even realize it was derogatory bc my brain has reclaimed that word so hard i only have positive associations, etc.) and when i mentioned that as myself after the bit everyone was so surprised lmao people do just be saying shit to me on the streets of boston

main feedback was mostly the same as what i got last time though it's clear i've improved on it (i still need to get better at leaving space for the audience to get the joke so i don't talk through a laugh, but this time i was able to do that more especially at the beginning and i did get laughs!!! and it felt so good!!!) and my legs didn't shake anymore so i actually got to stand and walk around confident with the physicality!!

also it's funny how i had a few lines that just very accurately described my legitimate frustrations with gender in a lighthearted way and i got multiple cis people laughing and going "wow i never thought of it that way, that's great" so i'm like yessss my trans agenda is working!!!

#i also had a very quick joke which was just the phrase ''LGBTQ and sometimes Y'' (phrased like A E I O U and sometimes Y)#and it got a huge laugh which was great but i was like how have i never seen someone do that before #like i felt like scott's most recent buddy show bc there's a couple simple lines where after the audience laughs he's like #''HOW AM I THE FIRST PERSON WHO'S SAID THAT???''#right now aubrey's the only recurring character in my standup class #as in other people either exclusively do standup as themselves or do a different character every time #but people seem to like aubrey and like getting to know the kind of ''lore'' and worldbuilding i inject into these monologues #like there was an uncle reg reference in this even tho it wasn't about him bc yeah of course aubrey calls him after being called a fag #and it was also great bc like. most of this monologue is new material but there's a joke about how identifying as every letter in LGBTQ #should come with a punch card that gets you a free smoothie at panera bread #and that was legit one of if not THE earliest aubrey joke i wrote. so it's cool getting to finally do it!!
