hmm…. having thoughts
#i know the met is never without controversy (esp this year…. what a terrible theme)#and i have my contentions with it#but i see a lot of people criticising it like ‘its just dresses’ or ‘its not worth the controversy’#as if the met doesnt singlehandedly fund the costume institute#and as someone who cares an embarrassing amount about fashion history#and preservation of fashion history#i wish more people understood it because theyre not ‘just dresses’#oh well whatever i have my bones to pick w/ anna wintour and her met themes#god knows this years was in poor fucking taste and theyre not even good designs#whatever i will always be too obsessed for my own good w/ fashion and history and conservation efforts#i love talking abt it though i think the fashion industry is the most fascinating in the entire world
