The Couple Closet
“I guess… I don’t quite understand what you get out of ‘knowing’ that you’re bisexual? If you only want to be with me, why does it matter?”

How do you feel about beronica? I saw a lot chonis calling them "fake gays" which is kinda weird to me. It's always about representation but when it's two bi girls kissing, that aren't part of the main gay ship, it's suddenly bad? I mean I'm not gay so maybe they have a different view on this.
Oh, anon, I'm not sure I'm the right person to ask about this, but I will endeavor.
First of all, more bi representation on TV is always needed. Bisexuals still face a lot of the "fake gay" mentality, especially if they're in or have been in relationships with the opposite sex before.
So to that, I say more exploration of bisexuality is a good thing. On a different show, presenting exploration of sexuality is generally something I'd be for. And being someone who has no BH expectations this season, I do enjoy Beronica's friendship and would generally be there for it.
However, this is Riverdale. Riverdale doesn't ever do anything because it wants to sensitively explore real world issues like gender and sexuality. Riverdale exists as several men's very specific fantasies, especially this season, and to say that they are doing this because they feel it's a natural direction for the characters is, frankly, not what we've seen. It can't be, because outside of their sexualities, these characters don't exist. Betty as a character does not exist outside of her sexuality this season. She did before. Now, it's just pingponging her between love interests, none of which is that serious.
If they were going there with s1-4 Beronica, with an actual foundation underlying the relationship? Then, I may see it as genuine character exploration. But while I don't appreciate "fake gays" being a term for bisexuality, I just can't see this as genuine either, especially given RD's desperate need to be praised for how progressive and woke it is in all things, while actively being the exact opposite.
*sidenote to this, if it’s chonis saying this, isn’t Toni bisexual? That feels hypocritical.

YES YES YES
What some people don’t seem to understand about the Honda odyssey scene is that THAT is the gay sex. They didn’t fuck after. That was it. They beat the shit out of each other until they literally couldn’t move anymore and THAT is the sex.

Besties, I need help. Especially people who have a lot of reach on twitter.
Two of my friends had their Destiny names forcibly changed at the roughly the same time. Their Destiny names were "bisexual mara sov" and "trans king oryx." They just logged in and got a pop-up saying that for some "crossplay" reasons their names were changed to a default Guardian####. None of them are using crossplay. Both are on Steam only, if that's important.
One of them posted to Bungie forums and got this reply:
Tumblr media
Both of my friends suspect that they were mass reported. Obviously falsely. Their names are not breaking any rules and are in fact canonical statements about the characters. They always play together so if some homophobe sees them, they would report both, so it would make sense why this happened to them at the same time, possibly (the other option is that there was a wave of forced name changes happening recently that caught them both, but for all intents and purposes, their names should not be subject to change).
This upset both of my friends quite a lot. It means there's enough homophobes out there falsely reporting their names. It's also upsetting to think that these reports were reviewed and then accepted. I genuinely don't think there was a manual review. If there was, I think everyone would like to know which rules this is breaking and why.
Another friend tried raising this issue on the official Destiny 2 reddit, but his thread was not approved by moderators because of "politics":
Tumblr media
Thanks reddit! /s My friend also messaged the moderators, but to no avail.
The only thing that remains is trying to raise this issue with the community managers somehow, but clearly this isn't possible on reddit, so we want to try twitter. Unfortunately with the way twitter works, unless you have the reach, nobody will see it. One other friend literally made a twitter account for this to tag the Destiny 2 Team, but as expected her attempt has zero visibility. These are her two tweets. I'm not sure what would be better; to just boost this existing tweet or to make new tweets tagging Destiny 2 Team, but if anyone knows and thinks they could help, feel free to do either!
I don't expect much to happen, but I would like to at least try bringing some awareness to this because it's quite upsetting if homophobes can just mass report a completely innocent name, while absolutely gross names are allowed and visible every day in the game. It's also not a good look if these mass reports are acted on without review, and they are worse if they were acted on WITH review.
A lot of people have usernames that are about in-game characters; I think a lot of us would like to get some information on why these aren't allowed anymore. Both of my friends have had them for years.
Anyway, if anyone knows something they could do or has the ability to get this visible somehow, it would be appreciated!

your entire shtick sounds like ur a white girl terf lesbian loser who racefakes being Black just to get some credibility and pity for your virulent transphobia and internalised homophobic tendencies. youre so despicable that you gotta add some oppression to your unlikeable persona just to get pity. And if you are Black -- this is sad. The white terfies dont actually love you, you're a diverse little asset to them. Have the day you deserve.
You believe i'm a lesbian more than you believe i'm black? I can't be black because I disagree with you? And if I am black, I believe what I do because I want to be approved of by white people?
So I must align with white people to disagree with you.
Because only white people are capable of defiant "bad" thoughts? If you really saw black people as complete human beings instead of sock puppets for your causes, you would have space in your mind for black people who disagree with you outside of any relationship they have to white people. "Terfies" aren't an established group like a fandom, it's a label thrown at any woman in defiance of the current status quo. Conservative women who would sooner see abortion banned and every woman het married with kids, or apolitical horny lesbians/bis who watch porn all day every day, and go to strip clubs are classed as radical feminists because they know pussy from dick. Face it! Some of these women are black, brown, disabled, bi, lesbian, autistic, and have been or currently identified as trans. Rebel women are in every group. No group of women are exempt from your witch hunt. "The white terfies dont actually love you" How to admit your entire belief system is predicated not on arguments you truly believe in or facts, but how nicely people treat you, and love bomb you into their cult. Being black does not get you "credibility" in radblr orbit. It doesn't even get me pity, I keep getting random accusations of bigotry from within this same orbit for my other views. It gets you anonymous cowardice messages like this. It is not some bigotry free space, but I am sooner debated about bullshit than tokenized as an expert of race relations. Unlike faux tumblr "leftish" groups that treats every black person off the street like a trained activist if they agree with them enough, when many are ignorant scammers, much like themselves. Birds of a feather. Nothing was a bigger indication of my internalized homophobia than the years I wasted pretending I was something I am not, a male, or bisexual (willing to accept any genitals a sexual partner may have). I am a big o'l black lesbian woman and my happiness is not dependent on what foreign whites think of me. It is dependent on the success of my goal of world domination. Sincerely,
A defiant loudmouth Negress.

@silvermoon424 coming in with hot takes too good to leave in the tags
Alt text: #pov: you make a good post and then encounter bi/panphobia #its not bad reading comprehension it’s because people really think that being bi/pan makes you ‘less queer’ than being lesbian #lgbtq+
all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.

“I grew up confident about my queerness. Girls at school made fun of me for it but autism’s lack of regard for social norms combined with my constant sapphic-novel-reading had given me confidence and I remained unruffled. I couldn’t imagine being anything other than bisexual and never thought of it as weird. It took repeated messages, over and over and over again, to instil a suitable amount of shame in me.
From what I can tell, a lot of allistic people I know are primarily motivated by social approval so push any rogue queerness down into their subconscious or suppress their thoughts and only get comfortable with it later in life. For me, it’s been the reverse. I was made to get uncomfortable with it. A combination of my rigid thinking with no grey areas combined with society’s messages about sexuality made me more muddled than was necessary. My teen years would be the last time, for a long time, that I felt being bisexual was normal.”

[“February 1986: Fifty freshmen, three resident counselors, and one head counselor are jammed into the lounge that is the designated meeting space for our floor. The room is a cinderblock rectangle edged with low orange institutional furniture—not quite “couches.” We fifty are one “unit,” sort of like a “bunk” at summer camp except that we will share the same dorm floor for the whole academic year. Many faces are red and angry, or red and embarrassed, or red and passionate. The Northeast Gay and Lesbian Student Union Conference is coming to Brown soon, and our head counselor had approved our lounge as a sleepover place for conference attendees. Two stereotypical jocks, in khaki shorts and backward baseball caps, are on their feet and demanding that the H.C. acted inappropriately by doing so. They demand a vote.
One of us, by which I mean one of us five who are queer, stands up too, and points out that we didn’t take a vote on whether the Princeton Marching Band could be housed here, which they were. I don’t remember now if I was the one who said it, or Nils, or Ellen, or who. What I do remember is that although we were all out to each other prior to the crisis, we weren’t out to everyone else.
The jocks finally make their stand: they’re afraid of AIDS. They’ve grabbed on to this thing which is barely a buzzword to them, as some kind of long-awaited justification for all the homophobic shit they would have kicked up anyway. They are practically high-fiving each other for thinking of it, because, after all, what self-respecting, intelligent person would share a bathroom with “that”?
And one of us, Scott or me or someone, finally says that if they think that by keeping the NELGSU Conference out of the lounge they’re keeping themselves separated from gay people, they’re wrong. That if they think they don’t already share a bathroom with gay people, they’re wrong. And, by the way, that if they think gay people cause AIDS, they’re wrong. But the issue of AIDS seems minor compared to the fact that we have just outed ourselves to the group. We have declared “We are everywhere”—and here we are.
The result of the debate was a “visitor bathroom” policy (people agreed to mark their bathroom doors “okay” for visitors to use or not), and many lacrosse balls winged blindly down the hallways at us from unseen attackers—as if we couldn’t guess who’d thrown them. By the time the conference actually arrived, the furor had died down, and we had a very festive gay pride week. Openly gay Congressman Gerry Studds gave the keynote address, and I still remember the climax of his speech. He said that if the message of Harvey Milk to the previous generation had been “Come to San Francisco and be gay,” his message to the current generation was “Stay where you are and be gay.” It was the second “We are everywhere” for me, and one that convinced me I should stick with the Lesbian/Gay Student Alliance, even though I seemed to be the only bisexual on the campus (or the only one admitting it). Stay where you are and be yourself.
I picked “bisexual” as one label I didn’t vehemently resist, partly because I liked that the definition of it was so nebulous. I had to “invent” bisexuality, I felt, which fit nicely with my antilabel attitude. It was a word everyone knew, and yet I had no bisexual culture to read about or participate in, no bisexual role models—unless you counted the old celebrity chameleon David Bowie himself. That suited me fine.”]

This is the post where Tim said he picked the wrong song and the context around it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I saw earlier you mentioned not being sure if he posted the link to that Bummy video or not and people saying he took it down but this is it and it’s still up as well. He just never said anything about it in his post and it’s got like no real interactions either (in comparison his vertigo post had over 60 likes) and I will say like more then half the video itself is just about bucks bisexual journey itself. Which is what Oliver and Tim have both kept reiterating and talking about.
Tumblr media
Thanks so much for messaging me and letting me know. I don't think either of these things are anything for Buddie shippers to be worried about. Like I said in my post I don't see an issue with Tim posting the B/T video no matter what happens with the finale because the majority of this season has been about Buddie not B/T.
I'm not totally sure what Tim meant when said he picked the wrong song. I don't know if there was more to what was being discussed there or maybe there was another song he would have liked better and couldn't get the approval to use. Either way I do think the song choice being a romance song was deliberate.
No matter what it's clear Tim is a big supporter of Buddie and I continue to believe from all the evidence that it's in the works.

Grindeldore is canon couple approved by Rowling
Please don't ship Malbus
It’s absurd to respond to such messages, but I can’t do without a comment.
First of all, I know that Grindeldor is canon. But I’m indifferent to this pairing; I’m not attracted to JK Rowling’s vision of the interaction between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Especially what is shown in "Fantastic Beasts".
However, I accept that this is CANON and do not offend Grindeldor shippers in any way.Why are they writing to me not to ship Malbus? This is a fanon pair. In fanon, anything is possible. Why do many people see heterosexual heroes as Gays in fanon? For example, a wolfstar from marauders fandom.
Is it impossible to make a character who is gay in the canon heterosexual or bisexual? It's hypocritical, don't you think?
I love Malbus, they are my favorite fanon couple of the HP world and I will not stop shipping them and making content. If you don't like something, that's your problem.I believe that there are many more problems in the world and it is very stupid to start a showdown over fictional characters.
If you like Grindeldor, that's your right, but you don't have to tell others who to ship.

I don't at all mind being called queer and have, vary rarely, used it to describe myself. It's an umbrella just like 'bisexual' is an umbrella, and I'm proud to be under both. I imagine people who don't like the term still have a bit of residual internalised homophobia to deal with, but that's only a guess.
A bisexual person being upset about being called 'queer' gives me the same vibe as a cis person being upset being called cis. They just don't understand the term. Or they don't want to understand it.
Fuck all the way off calling bisexuals "queers" I'm not "queer" there's nothing weird or deviant about same sex attraction. Most of us don't want to be identified by a literal slur
Queer means someone who isn’t straight or cisgender. It’s a literal adjective. If you feel it’s offensive and don’t want to labeled as that then my bad but it’s just an overall term to describe the LGBTQIA community. And Q means QUEER. What do you think the Q means? Q- TIP? 😏LMAO 🤣😂
