Listen if there's one thing I'm completely unhinged about, it's Barbatos and OMG OMG that CARD.

The only thing I ever felt I'd spend my one UR+ voucher on is the Barbatos shower card... and I had enough of those ridiculous UR+ jokers to skill level up. Spent all my Grimm unlocking the devil's tree to get to that premium card because I HAD to have it on my homescreen. Promptly lost my mind over his lines and the cute little indulgent laugh he does asdlkfkjf.

I am not at all feeling like I wanna write a nsfw scenario based on the one line he says nope definitely not.

It's really such a pretty premium picture, too. Like we get his lovely smile and all that SKIN and his beautiful hair and then there's like that window with the moon in the background even?!?

Having a smol crisis over how tall some of the Obey Me cast is...

I recall reading somewhere that Luci is 6'3", just to give a point of comparison. Also read somewhere before that Luke is supposed to be 5'2"?? EXCUSE ME??

And then I see this gem:

and realize that FUCK IT'S TRUE. I'M THE SAME HEIGHT AS LUKE. Like, if Barb really is that tall (estimating 6'2") then my 5'2" ass will look like THIS standing next to him.

Not really? I'm either there or not, but when I'm in the zone, entering a sprint helps keep me there. If I'm able to keep it going for a couple hours, having a playlist for the story on in the background helps.

17. What's the most memorable comment or review you've received on one of your fics?

Hm. I've received a couple comments from a fic that's no longer available that shared that my story or my character touched them in a long-lasting way that's changed the way they look at themselves or at love. Those ones stick out to me the most, I think.

This explains why I end up maintaining interest in the character long after I’ve lost interest in the canon storyline. Because once I feel like the quality of the writing/plot has dropped… and I have enough foundational material for the character and the world they live in… the rest is just filling in the gaps. It’s fun to experiment with expanding on the world building and the character depth in a way the canon leaves short sometimes. And it’s fun to take that canon template and deepen, modify, and overall interpret it in our own way, in a way that feels “right” to us.

neither “that’s not canon” nor “fuck canon we made this all up” but a secret third thing (canon shouldn’t be taken as gospel but is useful as a reference point for building upon and recontextualizing characters and details. if you worship the source material as unchangeable then fandom in general probably isn’t for you. if you have complete disdain for the source material you would probably enjoy yourself more in a different fandom)

pairing: barbatos x gn!reader

a/n: a little blurb I'm reposting from my other blog. it was inspired by this post (thank you @arvandus and everyone else that chimed in with their own ideas about hell coffee!). this is a twist on the hell coffee drink where it reveal's the drinker's feelings and not the brewer's.

Barbatos makes a hasty retreat to the kitchen after he delivers the tray with coffee and breakfast to your door. He busies himself with baking something—anything—to take his mind off the way his insides are knotting up.

It’s not long after when he looks up as the door swings open and Asmo steps inside. They simply stare at each other for a moment. Asmo’s eyes are far too knowing and it’s difficult not to squirm under his scrutiny.

“Hell Coffee?” Asmo asks, more serious than one might expect from the demon who’s always so involved in everyone else’s love lives.

When Barbatos says nothing, the other demon nods and turns to leave, hand resting on the door but he doesn’t push it open. He spares a final glance over his shoulder. “Do you want to know if they liked it?”

Barbatos knows what your usual tastes are. Perhaps different versions of you would shudder at the bitter taste while he watched, heart soaring at the revelation. In other timelines where you're a notorious sweet tooth, you compliment how wonderful the coffee is, the way he knows you like it, even though it tears his heart in two.

Perhaps some things are better left unsaid.

“No, I don’t.”

The day has been spent walking leisurely through the shopping district. The sun shines through canopies of leaves and wooden awnings, beaming down on you and Suo to warm your cheeks.

He links his pinky with yours, smiling and nodding at all the shopkeepers who greet him. People can’t seem to look away from him, and you can’t blame them. He’s beautiful.

And yet Suo… Suo only has eyes for you. He buys a bouquet of summer flowers for you, gently teases when you get all bashful and giggly, and pulls you close when you shield your face in the petals.

“Ah, ah, no hiding,” he chides, kissing your forehead before tilting your chin back up to properly look at you, his thumb just barely brushing below your bottom lip. “There we go, that’s much better.”
