I’m really feeling the Cosmos after finally finding the high-quality version of this Michiru art! Awhile back, I had come across an unfinished gallery of Katamari on the Web artwork. The icon for some artwork of Michiru was shown, but the full version was unarchived. Many months later, I’m on NAVER, looking for Katamari-related stuff (mainly KDO). Suddenly, I see the gif in a lyric post! I was so happy that I finally had the full gif.

Now, it’s time for Katamari trivia! This exact Prince doll was featured in a photo shoot of the Katamari Damacy team with their trophy. If you look on top of the cow, you’ll see the little green Prince! And here’s a drawn version of the photo, posted by Keita himself.

If you want to browse through the artwork from Katamari on the Web’s archives, you can check out the wiki page. I’ve compiled everything I’ve found so far.

In the past, I’ve theorized that this Prince doll was made for one of Dr. Katamari blog posts, which talks about the Prince’s creation. Unfortunately, I have no evidence of this, because none of the pictures were archived.

Some of Katamari on the Web’s lost art was found!

Hello, it’s your biggest Queen fan girl here!

Today, I was reverse image searching an old We ❤️ Katamari demonstration photo, when I noticed a result that lead to one of Robin Hunicke’s old blogs. Even though I do not support her, I wanted to check this Katamari fan-page since she has a long history with Keita Takahashi. Much to my surprise, three different pieces of artwork from Katamari on the Web were sprinkled in the gallery!

The first animation shows the Prince flipping a signboard with “塊” on one side and “魂” on the other. This same sprite was used in the old Katamari Damacy screensavers.

The second finding is a small animatic announcing the return of Katamari on the Web. It is really cute and unique!

And now, for my favorite finding, we have Summer Prince! The kanji on the right apparently translates to “birth of summer prince” and it shows a completely unique cousin design. For those who know me, I am a sucker for miscellaneous cousins, so I was super hyped to find this!
