Nobuo Uematsu, Altima of Digis "Fight On!" (IT conversion) Final Fantasy VII (1997) Square Co, Ltd.
[Tracking Final Message]           Final Fantasy 7 Boss Power Mix  Submitted by Altima into the XI - placing 2nd.          <http://members.xoom.com/sstrax>
A word of warning, If played in Mikit, the actual pitch of the song is reduced, and sounds a little out of tune. So if you want the full quality and pitch, use Impulse Tracker.
Hi. Hope you enjoy the song. Unfortunately, this song during the XI was released with one too many misnotes, and got a lower score then it could have recieved. But now almost are all fixed, and this module is ready for release.
Turn the bass up on this song, the Bass Drums, Toms, and Bass Guitars have a big impact on if you have a bass control setting. Play this in Impulse Tracker for high quality - 44khz 16-bit for highest.
Hey DALNET #SSTrax. Well, Mat V. Beat me in the XI with his awesome FF7 Ending Mod, but I'm sure next X3 - (X2 Coming In A Few Days), I'll probably submit a cool Chrono Trigger Ending Remix.
Thanks to the sample creators, and everyone who put up with my song prior to release. Hope this comes out to be one of the better FF7 Mods out there. See ya.

You know what. Let's do this exercise:
Gush over something you love in the tags.
I need to read people ramble and gush over stuff!
I wish gushing over what you love was more popular than hating on what other people love.

To anyone into gaming soundtracks this guy should be well known, having worked on final fantasy, blue dragon, lost odyssey and a great deal many more.
Check out his work on lost odyssey and ff7 as a starting point.

Hello!! Even though it's absolutely irrelevant, I thought I'd ask anyway since you seem the best person to answer the question(s) I'm about to ask:
First of all, I am someone who has listened to/ is open to listening to most types of music. But these days I feel like I'm falling behind in music genres such as ambient, folkkore or soundtrack annd much more.
On the other hand, it would be hard not to realize that you listen to these genres religiously in the short time I was able to use Discord!! So you kinda get the point of me asking this question specifically to you 🦉
So, let's ask you, King Crumpet, do you have any suggestions?, or important stuff you want to talk about? Let your people be cultured too!!
I normally consume soundtracks of things that I've played/watched before, and many are nostalgic for me. But I tend to listen to music that helps with my work, so I curate my playlists when I'm searching for a specific theme or mood. I also listen to my 'Discover Weekly' and 'Release Radar' semi-regularly to find new songs, so the artists in total are ALL over the place.
So in no particular order, I'll list off soundtracks that help my brainstorming/writing (bear in mind I don't listen to the whole soundtrack, just pieces that fit what I need):
MOVIES/TV SHOWS/ANIME
Game of Thrones - Ramin Djawadi
House of the Dragon - Ramin Djawadi
The Hunger Games movies - James Newton Howard
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - Bear McCreary
The Wheel of Time - Lorne Balfe
The Untamed - Hai Lin
Tales From Earthsea - Tamiya Terashima
Psycho-Pass - Yugo Kanno
The Sandman - David Buckley
The Bourne Trilogy - John Powell
Oppenheimer - Ludwig Göransson
VIDEO GAMES
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Jeremy Soule
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Jeremy Soule
Final Fantasy XII - Hitoshi Sakimoto
Final Fantasy XV - Yoko Shimomura
Horizon Zero Dawn - Joris de Man
Moss - Jason Graves
Pine - Tumult Kollektiv
Detroit: Become Human - Nia Fakhrara; Philip Sheppard; John Paesano
MISCELLANEOUS BUT NOTABLE ARTISTS
Yuki Kajiura
Gareth Coker
Nobuo Uematsu
Two Steps From Hell
Howard Shore
Jia Peng Fang
Will Savino
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (normally renditions of video game soundtracks like Tomb Raider II)
Hans Zimmer
Loreena McKennitt
Mark Eliyahu
Yutaka Yamada

Rules: go here and make a poll of your top ten most listened to artists long term so everyone can vote for their favorite
Tagged by @dragonologist-phd, thank you! <3
I genuinely would rather cry than pick an actual favourite out of this lot lmao. Pitting Soken and Uematsu against each other feels especially cruel...
Also, this was my first ever time making a poll! :D
Tagging @calico-heart, @ganbarimaster, @onlywhentherain, @sayonaramidnight and @t-aash for if yous have spotify and fancy a go, as well as anyone else who would like to take part! (though honestly, even if folk don't have spotify, there's nothing stopping you just making a poll of ten of your favourite / most listened to artists!) <3

I Just Wanna Make The Whole Earth Smile (Girls Rituals)
I just wanna be different/I just wanted to choose/Grinded up and repurposed/A deflated balloon
“Just,,, the way she sings it man. All her songs give me such a visceral reaction, i love it”
Dancing Mad (Final Fantasy VI)
“It's frankly iconic that some rando self-taught video game composer managed to compose a perfect Baroque-styled piece and choke it out of the SNES sound chip and still have it sound fucking amazing. Jeremy Jahns once said "For a musician, the SNES sound engine is like an artist using Crayola crayons. Nobuo Uematsu used Crayola crayons to paint the Sistine Chapel." which like yeah. Honestly if a good organ piece doesn't fuck you up I'm not even sure what to say. It's crazy though like Uematsu didn't have to go this unimaginably hard on an SNES game I think this song may genuinely take the prize for best and/or most technically impressive game song of its time. I think the third movement is a pretty good simulation of escaping samsara.”
“It's a whole freaking epic journey in one song, can't even choose the best part. the unexpected waltz section? the messy piano & drums part that makes me feel like im on a bumpy offroad ride? the recurring organ chords and church bells bit that gives off catholic vibes? it's all different and it's all amazing”

Reverie of Reveria/I Can Hear the Sound of Happiness (English translation)
"I can hear it, your voice"
I remember seeing something about a Fantasy Life Switch game a few months ago, but I haven’t seen any news about it since. I hope it’s not stuck in dev hell. The 3DS game was one of my favorites as a child, and the credits song made me cry lol. Speaking of that song, I translated it! There’s already one translation floating around online, but I think some of the subjects are reversed? So I decided to also try. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong.
Artist: Nana Yanase Music: Nobuo Uematsu Lyrics: Akihiro Hino
As long as you credit me (lunari162), you’re free to use this translation. You are also welcome to make edits for accuracy.
I can hear it, your voice I wake up in the morning light and I can hear the sounds of the town Today, too, another day begins to fly by
When I lifted my head and looked at the sky, I found a round panda-shaped cloud
The warmth I always felt on my hand touching your cheek, that lives alongside you* is the sound of happiness that I hear in this town
I can hear it, your voice And soon, footsteps are born
A bed with white sheets on top Someday, I'll dream with you
On the day that I held you in my arms, teardrops flowed Both the smile and the crying face that you showed me are the sound of happiness that I hear in this town
Floating in the sky, on the other side of the moon,** I was watching A hope that faces the future is the sound of happiness that I hear in this town
Tonight, the star of happiness shines***
*this line might mean “(the warmth) of living together with you” instead, but I don't think it does because it doesn't have ことの. I'm not 100% certain, though, so I'm sharing both interpretations **could also be translated as “on the other side of the moon that floats in the sky.” I'm not sure if 空に浮かぶ refers to the singer (who I've always assumed to be Yuelia) or the moon ***literally “the star of happiness will fall.” 星降る夜 is a common phrase meaning that the night sky is full of stars, so I went with that idea instead

Half baked thought with holes probably but the irony of right wingers and doomer boomers who sit there and talk abt how Society Today has lost value of Art and if you asked them what their favorite classical song is theyd be stumped, much less would they be able to name 3 classical composers and stay how their style differed from eachother
Along this though, if youd ask them if they ever heard of one-winged angel and theyd ALSO be stumped, the name "nobuo uematsu" means nothing to them.
Theres of course a lot of mainstream ppl who dont know nobuo uematsu, but i always felt like a large majority of "society has declined" reactors often look at anyone who spends their time on social media and plays video games as "proof"
Theres a lot of ppl today who cant name classical artists or know what styles they had but thats just like. just how common was that something to begin with? you're telling me everyday ppl in the 18th century just knew bach and mozart? we def have more accessibility now but you dont HAVE to appreciate older art to appreciate art. theres no inherent value to listening to vivaldi and being amazed vs. listening to an album made today and being amazed
