Chronos The Embodiment of Time Talon Abraxas

Chronos, distinct from the Titan Cronus, is the personification of time in Greek mythology. His representation as a three-headed serpent, with the heads of a man, a bull, and a lion, symbolizes the all-encompassing nature of time, touching all beings and realms.

Symbolism of the Three Heads

The three heads of Chronos are rich in symbolism. The human head represents intelligence and the rational aspect of time, the lion symbolizes bravery and strength, and the bull head embodies fertility and creation. Together, they signify the diverse influence of time over life.

The Primordial World Egg

Chronos played a pivotal role in the creation myth according to the Orphic tradition. Alongside his daughter Ananke, the goddess of inevitability who also appeared as a serpent, he encircled the primordial world egg. Their movement around the egg led to its division, creating the earth, sea, and sky, a cosmic event that marked the beginning of existence.

Chronos and Ananke

The partnership of Chronos and Ananke is a fundamental aspect of the Orphic cosmogony. Together, they represent the inescapable forces of time and fate, underlining the idea that time is intertwined with the inevitability of events.

Creation of Aether and Chaos

According to Orphic myths, Chronos was instrumental in the birth of Aether (the upper sky) and Chaos (the void). In the silver egg created by Chronos in Aether, the gods Phanes and Hydrus emerged, who were responsible for the birth of the first gods and the entire universe.

Distinction from Cronus

It is crucial to distinguish Chronos from Cronus, the Titan father of Zeus. While Cronus is a figure in the Olympian pantheon associated with the harvest and often depicted with a sickle, Chronos is a primordial deity embodying the concept of time. The conflation of these two figures has occurred historically both by mistake and intentionally due to the similarity in their names.

Chronos in Cultural Context

Chronos' representation in Greek mythology extends into various cultural and philosophical contexts. He is often seen as a metaphor for the relentless, all-encompassing nature of time, and his imagery has influenced artistic and literary works throughout history.

"that the people would see me too as a poet/and not just the muse" is really interesting coming from fable. because he kind of has a point. the aether is inherently derivative and dependent on the other three realms. if it's a work of great art, the other three major gods serve as muses

especially from fable's point of view; in more modern conceptions, the muse of an artist is often mistreated, exploited, and under-credited. (they're also usually like. women suffering under misogynist structures of art and finance, but fable has such a victim complex i can see him being fine with co-opting that /j)

similarly, "i'll never forget that you showed me how to make art" alerion made the other realms for his siblings, which then inspired the creation of mortals. the works of art that fable is driven to kill by losing to alerion also owe their existence to him, in a way

You know what now that I’ve created a reputation for soundscaping somewhat, I wanna talk about the Brink Audiobooks-

Every chapter I have to hold myself back from making it like, fully immersive soundscaped with footsteps and clinking and sound effects because it would just take forever, BUT there are some elements which are soundscaped.

Notably, almost every chapters in Brink has 3 audio tracks. The narration, the music (which I’ll come back to) and the sound of thunderstorms. In Edge, this has gone up to 4: The narration, music, thunderstorms, and a crackling fireplace. Thematicallly, I want the audiobooks to feel like a scary story being read to you. I want that atmosphere was reading in a thunderstorm, curled up under a blanket or sitting beside a crackling fireplace. Since Edge is specifically the “Nether-coded” book of the series, the fireplace felt thematic to add here too.

There are some exceptions however. Not every chapter has the thunderstorm sounds: sometimes there are additional/substitutes. Chapters set on a train (such as Brink V) have the sound of a train instead. Brink XX has howling wind and slamming doors, as is appropriate for the atmosphere of the setting. And notably, any chapters in which there are gunshots, have gunshots, to emphasize the importance/danger within the story. Several chapters in Edge, because of the new locations, have additional sounds too. Ocie chapters, such as the prologue, or any set on boats, replace the thunderstorms with the sound of crashing waves. Galahad and Athena chapters replace the thunderstorms with dry winds and horses hooves, and there’s more to come still. And flashing forwards to the Border audiobook which is in early testing stages: Purgatory has nothing. No ambience at all. It is entirely empty…

Music is another big thing for me with the series. Each faction/realm within Brink gets its own “theme” collected from various royalty free artists and collections online:

Ominous Bane/The Overworld focused chapters use “Call of Cthulhu Dark Orchestral” by Graham Plowman, from the channel Cthulhu Mythos Music

Auspicious Boon/The End focused chapters use “From the Vaults of Miskatonic University” by Graham Plowman, from the channel Cthulhu Mythos Music

The Aether focused chapters likewise use “The Haunting” by Graham Plowman, from the channel Cthulhu Music Mythos.

Nature Fam based chapters tend to use “Reminiscence”, but Ólafur Arnalds and Sarah Ott

And lastly, as will be introduced in Edge when it’s released, Nether focused chapters use “Tumbleweed Texas” by Chris Haugen.

It gives each subplot of the story its own subtle but unique feel, and I really like the effect it gives. Barely noticeable, but really fun in my opinion.

And the same with the ambience. It gives it a really subtle level of difference and immersion that is barely noticeable, but that adds a ton to the experience of listening, and I genuinely believe that I’ve only gotten better with it over time moving into Edge.

Lord Abaddon

Disclaimer: Lord Abaddon who I am connecting with and is my patron (as with the other demonic divine I mention on this blog) is from an outer realm multiverse (spoken about in more detail elsewhere on my blog.) This information and gnosis about Lord Abaddon is from the level that I am connecting with Him on. It is my belief that there are multiple individual beings who appear under the same “name” – especially with the demonic divine (also explained in more detail in other posts). So basically, who I am connecting with and the level that I do, is not likely who others are connecting with- since most practitioners or those working with demons connect with inner realm beings. There is a striking energetic difference among other things.

Side note on angels: Angels/angelic beings (especially in the outer realms- are not what humans typically think of) are not all aligned with light or such inner realm beings- like the earthen realm “yahweh” or even other gods. Angels often are aligned with a source well/point – as it was explained to me, not a deity in particular. It also may not even be so “distinct” as that. This is also true of outer multiverse Fallen Angels. This however is a complex topic and I digress

Lord Abaddon as I know Him is the Dark Lord and High Lord of the Abyssal Angels (species of dark angelic beings). Lord Abaddon is an angelic being. Energy wise He is at base an Abyssal Angel (this is not a fallen angel though) and does not carry at His core demonic energy. However, He is suffused with and often permeates and presents with a more demonic energy. There is an interesting mix of energies, but at His core Lord Abaddon is still an angelic being. He has no connection to Apollo either- especially since Lord Abaddon is an outer realm being.

One of Lord Abaddon’s main territories is the Aether above the Abyss. The ethereal realm that resides over the watery abyss-which is Lord Leviathans domain. There are multiple “abyss’s” in existence- some more inner realm- which includes earthen and associated areas. The one I am speaking of here is the Outer Multiverse Realm area/world - which is basically vast oceans. In the Outer Multiverse where these demonic divine beings are- the nature of the environment where the different species/groups reside in- informs Their species energies, behaviour, and personal traits in quite a direct way. For example, generally Abyssal beings among other things; are known to have great emotional intelligence, interpretation, understanding and mastery. This is also the case with Lord Abaddon and the Abyssal Angels. Because They reside above the Abyss, They carry the emotional intelligence and mastery of the Abyssal beings, however there is also a more aerial intellectual aspect to this as well, then just pure emotional mastery and intelligence. Given the aetheric aspects the Abyssal Angels also culminate Knowledge and Wisdom and are very well learned and excellent teachers, as well as being formidable warriors. Most have especial interest in more forbidden and hidden learnings and mysteries.

In the inner realms the Abyss can correspond to the internal abyss and emotional depths, an abyssal area and “journey/practice” as in “crossing the abyss” or the Qliphotic sphere of Da’ath among other things. Lord Abaddon can aid and be linked to all these areas; though the area He is most present with is Da’ath- and all that represents and entails. He is an excellent guide in crossing the abyss.

 Lord Abaddon is The Gatekeeper and The Destroyer. He is a very skilled and renowned Warrior Lord. While He presides over justice it is often leaning more towards the vengeful aspect of justice, then just reigning justice itself. Justice is also more complex than what humans understand of it. Given Lord Abaddon is angelic, He does carry the kind of righteousness of justice and the severity in this, that angelic beings often tend to have. Lord Abaddon is quite austere and can be very harsh. Energetically His energy is very vast and enveloping, watery yet aetheric, like all consuming fog above a black treacherous ocean. So, it can be quite overwhelming and disorientating for humans to connect with this level of darkness. His energy has a heaviness and a graveness to it. He can be very severe and is quite formal and stern.

Lord Abaddon is also associated with death- though a more sombre aspect of it. As well as destruction and war. Yet He is also a fierce protector of His people and those He claims as His own. He carries the Keys and Chains of Knowledge Bound. He is very capable and experienced with darker magic and occult mysteries. And He enjoys challenges. Lord Abaddon also has an interesting link with the Wormwood Star. I have yet to delve into the full reasons behind this though. But it is there and through this also has an association with wormwood the plant and its mysteries, poisons (though not as much as some others DLs are.) He is also linked subterfuge and plague death. Lord Abaddon is ancient though He doesn’t appear so. He is a Great Ruler and has much knowledge of the rise and fall of civilisations.

Another of Lord Abaddon’s domains is the realm of the darkened mind and soul. He is excellent at aiding shadow work and inner child work. Though He may be quite severe with this, given His energies and nature. Despite all of this and what is often said about Him, Lord Abaddon (like all Demonic Divine Dark Lords) is balanced in His own way and is also understanding, if not necessarily sympathetic towards humans who connect. Though He is not especially looking to connect or work with people though.  He (in the more inner realm aspects as well) expects those who connect to do the work and be serious about this. He is quite an advanced Dark Lord to work with and I would not suggest beginners try it.

Some of the inner realm planetary energies Lord Abaddon is associated with are; Saturn, certain aspects of Pluto, somewhat of Neptune and darker Mercury. He can also be more Solar in His Justice aspect.

alright ill not torment that artist's post with extended musings about ew! shinryu so here goes, i have some… thoughts?? about shinryu in ultima thule and about zenos' presence there and… all of that.

I thought Shinryu was really neat in Stormblood. The whole concept of this primal born from the rage and despair of a nation that was conquered and destroyed and plundered, and then having said primal also be subjugated by the conqueror. The cruelty of how even the manifestation of Ilberd's sacrifice was stolen to be used at the whim of the enemy. How slaying the primal at the end of StB allowed us to symbolically lay Ilberd's despair to rest - freeing Ala Mhigo in the same breath as freeing his legacy from the clutches of the empire.

And there's something to be said about how Shinryu was born from Nidhogg's eye - yet another character doomed through his bottomless rage at his loss. And how we use Omega to hunt the primal down - an omicron, conquerors and destroyers of the Dragonstar.

It was one of the parts of Stormblood that worked for me, and I wasn't fundamentally opposed to the idea itself that Zenos draws upon Shinryu's power once more in Endwalker, but… idk, I feel like I am interpreting more into it than the narrative ever intended me to?

I feel like there's a lot you could read into the scene, and how it delivers proof that Zenos is hitting a fundamental limit to his character. But when i look at the way the game plays the scene out, it feels like I'm just too generous about it idk.

So like. Zenos spends most of EW chasing after the WoL and trying to get them to fight him again, blatantly admitting that he is trying to cause you as much rage and despair as possible, because he believes this to be the way to unlock your full potential against him.

He says it on several occasions. Tells you during the dinner that the final days are a gift to you. Tells you on the moon that he intends to see you consumed with hatred and despair.

And of course, during the aftermath of Alisaie's scolding when he's ruminating in the menagerie, he supposedly realizes that he's been going about this all the wrong way. Both his motivations for seeking you out, and his methods. So he appears to you in the Ultimatum, as Shinryu, and claims he's got it sorted out now.

But does he?? At the end of the universe, he tracks you down in the shape of a primal born from despair - a primal he effectively stole from his enemy-, born of feelings that never belonged to him in the first place. A feat he was only capable of by stealing the Echo from Krile, because Hydaelyn's blessing was never his to begin with either. And of course, he gets to this point by consuming what remains of Hydaelyn's aether, too. And then he fights you as a Reaper, and in post-EW we find out that even this power was stolen - Zero tells you she had no choice. She tells you (if your character unlocked Reaper) that your pact with your avatar is equal, but hers with Zenos was not.

Zenos never had the ability to reach Ultima Thule through his own merits, he still fell short of achieving what the Warrior of Light achieved. Where we make it to Meteion's nest by understanding despair, and overcoming it through hope that was created by understanding, such a path would have been barred to Zenos.

I was kind of disappointed that our dialogue options upon his arrival were just variations of "lol I won't save you", when really i wish the game had let me acknowledge how fucking wild it is that Zenos shows up in the despair realm, dressed up as the rage and despair primal, looks at the WoL and goes "lmao are you gonna fall to despair???".

I think it says a LOT about his character. He's had a good long thinking session about his issues, and made a commendable effort. But he still doesn't grasp the nature of despair, positions himself (and wants to position the WoL) as someone who cannot be affected by "such a banal thing", and… well, he dies.

The Warrior of Light understands despair and has the power to turn it into hope, and it saves the world and shows Meteion that it isn't the end. But it is the end for Zenos, because ultimately he doesn't understand how to create hope. He has harnessed a collection of powers he fundamentally does not understand, used them to speedrun the road to Ultima Thule, brute forced his way into the Ultimatum, and never walked the path that gave the WoL the strength to make it out of this ordeal alive. But the way it plays out ingame, it feels. Too triumphant? It's practically his big moment - he shows up to save the day in his own way, he's your reliable flying platform for the whole fight, and…. I don't know what I expected, but it feels like the game simply does not address a single implication of his choice to take Shinryu's shape again.

Maybe what I was missing was something, a tiny thing, during the battle? There's a moment in the battle where the WoL falters, and the scions are giving us strength. But I wish Zenos had faltered, too. I wish there had been a consequence, however brief, to him harnessing the power of a primal he never had a true connection with.

In the same way he got punished in Stormblood for stealing the Echo (by being brought back to life), I wish he'd gotten punished for using Shinryu, too. Maybe I would have liked it if the scions had saved us JUST in time because despair-driven Shinryu could not withstand the Endsinger's attacks any longer. What if we fell? What if Zenos' mockery of the Endsinger as "weak prey" was punished, and he found out that he does not have what it takes to conquer despair, because he was so detached from the majority of human emotion.

I feel like there's something missing from Shinryu's appearance in Endwalker that ties it back into what happened during Stormblood - Zenos forcibly taking control of this massively powerful primal, but losing.

I think if we'd gotten something, anything acknowledging how at the end of the road, he had still not managed to bring anything of his own to the table, I think it would have been such a good demonstration of why he died that day, and why we did not have the chance to save him.

Something about how he forged an empty existence for himself, and all his stolen power was indeed a sad, sad mirror to the strength the WoL gains from their genuine bonds with their friends, who lend it to the Warrior willingly. (Also something something limit break happening because it's the battle with you, the only person he does have a genuine connection with that he can draw true power from.) (Okay yeah that bit is very self indulgent)

No, but I frequently get visited by a cat that is older than I am (She's like 22 or something lol). But my mom, my sister and I have been wanting to get chickens!

Comfort food?

I don't really have one? A steak, maybe?

How many languages do you speak?

My native language is Swissgerman, so naturally I also speak High German and obviously I speak English. So let's say 2.5 languages, because the two Germans are similar, but not the same.

I wanna learn many more languages though, that includes; Romansh, Italian (we had it in school for six fucking years but I can barely speak it), French (these three are the other national languages of Switzerland), Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Greek, Russian, Japanese, Welsh, Old Germanic, Latin, Old English and perhaps spanish. There are just sooo many beautiful languages in the world, though I know I will probably never get past the 2.5. 

Random fact about yourself

As a kid I got so sick of radio music that I didn't listen to any songs with lyrics in them for about 2-3 years. I only listened to Dubstep, which eventually turned into only listening to Deathstep (and some robo and metalstep) for about 2 years.

One day I found a remix of the songs Psychosocial and The Devil in I by Slipknot. Slipknot was my gateway band to metal. I practically only listened to them for probably more than half a year.

And then I discovered aliencore. Aliencore is a subgenre of death metal in which, you guessed it, everything is about aliens. So I got obsessed with Rings of Saturn at first (I still mourn them deeply) and later on with Aversions Crown. So I pretty much only listened to them for probably more than half a year too.

Then I got obsessed with Behemoth and Gorogoroth for a while, that's how I began listening to black metal too. About one or two years ago I got obsessed with Ghost and only listened to them for more than half a year, AGAIN!

That was the last time I obsessed over a band. Now I just listen to a bunch of different bands and artists. I don't have a favorite band at the moment, but my favorite song is Sommer by Nargaroth. I also love Starchild by Wintersun, Fading Memories by Thy Pallor, Wieczernia by Batushka, The Sun, The Moon, The Star by Aether Realm, Million Year Summer by The Angelic Process, The Satanist by Behemoth and a bunch of Slipknot songs like Gently, Iowa, Scissors and The Virus of Life.

I really just rambled about my entire musical journey, fucking hell.

Something you’re proud of?

In my last year of school, we had to do a final project. I chose to write about how I imagined the future to look like. I researched everything to be as scientifically accurate as possible. I had a bunch of ideas for topics, and in the end I ended up with six. They were: “Can you bring artificial intelligence to life?”, “What could the future of space travel possibly look like?”, “How could the cities of the future look like?”, “Will humanity go extinct?” “What is the technological and human singularity?” and “What is my idea of transhumanism?”. (The original titles are in German).

I had a blast during the presentation, I even made somebody cry actually. I showed them a video of ChaosGPT and it actually frightened some. One girl was wiping her tears away. To me this was really funny, because I put the video on 2x speed which made the Mozart music in the background sound really funny. Imagine some evil AI planning to destroy the world, while a girl is crying as Mozart is playing at 2x speed in the background and I just stand in front of the whole class and two teachers, trying to hold my shit together.

Anyway, I got a 6 (best possible grade) for the written work, a 6 for the journal and a 5.8 for the presentation (I talked for over an hour, which was a little too long, but the rest of it was fucking great!!!), so I received a -6 for the whole project. My other teacher also gave me a 6 (It's an unofficial grade though) and the whole class had to give me a grade too, which were all 6s too!

So yeah, I did a fucking amazing job!

THIS IS THE FIRST PART.

idk why but i wanna show tumblr my aranara quests themed custom tarot deck lmao. i finished it in february but since i created this acc just recently, i gotta put it here now. im just really proud of this project and the fact that i actually finished it.

unfortunately tumblr will only allow me to add 10 pics per post, while there are 23 cards, so that kinda sucks. will have to separate em it seems. i'll also explain a little about my choices on these. so here we go, first ten.

0 the fool - "where the journey begins". i think its already a tradition to put some main figure on the fool card and so did i. glad i used his correct design for the card-

basically theres nothing to explain except for the monarch butterfly symbolism, which usually is a sign of a chosen. not like Arama is any "chosen" in a common sense, but i felt like adding this anyway. 6/10 nice Arama card.

I the magican - creation and manipulation. Aranimba got here for his exclusive sense of beauty and the will to create the beauty. he is an artist after all.

the story of the bg is kinda wonky. it was at release of 3.4 and due to my disappointment i made a pic where Aranimba points at that shiny cave northwest the mt. damavand with excitement. well, now its a boss enterance, but back then i had no clue, i made it literally at the release day lol. but it worked well on the bg of this card. i think you wouldnt guess it was that cave if i didnt tell, and that was done on purpose as well. 8/10 for backstory, and im proud of this card overall.

II the high priestess - waiting for the impulse from outside, confidence. first of all, the high priestess to me was always associated with some whimsy loud woman, and if you ask me, this is where Arapacati fits. however here she is depressively hugging a viparyas cuz she kicked her brothers a decade ago and now shes sad. what did i tell u about whimsy woman? 6/10, solid.

III the empress - the mother, fertility, the birth of a new. THIS IS WHERE WE STARTED, THE MAMA. no need to explain why i put Rukkhadevata here? 6/10, i struggled with this card cuz i hate drawing people, but it came out solid imo.

IV the emperor - the father, discipline, responsibility. to remind you, Araja is basically the one who runs the Vanarana dream realm, the tree of dreams. he is also here for a very simple reason because of being a big boss here, and looking like one as well. 7/10, nice mustache.

V the hierophant - attention to visible and invisible, search of the essence. if you ask me why i put Arapandu here, theres my answer - because he was the only major character who didnt have a card in the process of planning. i have some really vague explaination why exactly on hierophant, its mostly because of Varunastra actually, not Arapandu. i honestly dont have any emotional connection to Arapandu, he's kinda boring. 4/10.

VI the lovers - chosen by heart, determination and aspiration. ONLY BECAUSE OF SUCH INTERPRETATION. im against shipping aranara x anyone.

i think i wouldnt even make any better choice for this card whatsoever. they are here because they share dreams and aspirations and i really love their duet. 9/10 i teared.

VII the chariot - knowledge of the world, searching for the new. these goofy guys are here mostly because of "searching for the new", even though their methods were unsafe and archon knows what would happen to these dummies without any sense of self-preservation if we werent around. fact: they've been wondering for at least 4 years, but i love to say a decade. nay, theyre just very lucky. 5/10.

VIII justice - "play nice, and others will play nice with you". this is a card for Nara Varuna specifically and i decided to make both Lumine and Aether so that everyone will be satisfied. since Nara Varuna did nice in the past, all the aranara praise their name in the present.

the bg is again kinda symbolic. these are runes on Varuna contraption: "the water", when the rain pours, for Lumine, and "the sky", when its sunny, for Aether. i only hate how i made them so vague that theyre barely recognizable eh. but overall good cards, 6/10.

Persona AU for the Horizon Series :0a

Aloy, of course, would be the Wildcard

Gaia would play the role of both Igor and your first Navi character until Beta showed up

I haven't quite settled on what the mechanism of awakening to a Persona would involve in this AU, but they're summoned using a Focus. Second Awakenings would happen as part of the plot like in Persona 3 rather than at the completion of Social Links like in 5

Here's the Personas I have the main Gaia Gang cast assigned and thoughts about their abilities:

Aloy - Mnemosyne

"The Titan Goddess of memory in Greek mythology. She was mother to the nine Muses and was often called on by bards and kings to aid them in remembering both poetry and history. Hello! I see your ask box is always open. What kind of music do you listen to? I've been pretty into Ghost recently (Spillways is my fave) but I also listen to a lot of Kamelot (End of Innocence) and Aether Realm (Swamp Witch - honestly a mood bc same)

i listen to a bit of everything but ive also been listening to a lot of ghost lately actually, in fact i have it on right now (i think square hammer is probably my favorite but i do love spillways, def top five). aside from ghost i listen to a lot of sabaton (dreadnoughts is my fave) greta van fleet (cant go wrong with black smoke rising), and gordon lightfoot (honestly i cant even pick i just love his music), to name a few.

i think Forrest Gump really made me change the way i think back when i was in middle school. i still have the bubba gump shrimp hat i wore just about whenever i could all through high school. i have a list of movies ive been trying to get through, ill look into symbol.

honestly i like talking about anything a lot so any questions are more than welcome, but i also like talking about planes, history, or any other subject i know a bit about. big fan of helping people understand topics. planes and history especially.

What was more surprising than the level of technology I discovered was the fact that, primarily, it was my cult responsible for the advancements.

Seriously, they'd made a whole pantheon based around my adventuring days, which was rather silly. And their holy texts were, at least in part, translations of my own personal tome, which was... concerning. Luckily, they hadn't gotten to any of the important secrets, such as the identity of my beloved pet.

Citrus had come with me on our journey through the river of time. (Quite literal - I'd had to build a boat for the process.) Though he was the dragon of mathematics, even he was stumped by some of these abstract fields modern mathematicians had developed.

Such an interesting world! Their machines ran on a magic the complexity of which I'd only theorised. Their artworks! When an artist could conquer the corrupted environment of the upper class, such impressive things they made! A library, flying on stone wings! A pool containing the sum total of human knowledge! Whole nascent gods, created as jokes! Sapient ideas!

And nevermind the real creations. Industrial summoning devices! Mechanical mages in every home, an aether spun between them! Chariots of painted steel! There were even these 'guns', created by a tinkerer to prove a point. Mechanical only, and yet they packed more of a punch than any spell I'd seen! (Excluding my own, of course, and accounting for the expense of action.)

Still, this wondrous realm was somehow... broken. Though they deftly manipulated electric minds between their fingers, there were pervasive winds of ennui. Exhaustion. The night was no longer dark, the day no longer bright. The smell of oil, so omnipresent you could barely distinguish it. Rituals that were once filled with awe and splendor, now reduced as far as they could be, in the name of efficiency, automation.

Djinni were once extraordinary things, but with their origins revealed, now they were manufactured en masse. The curtain of ages was snatched away to reveal the truth of them; mere golems, grown more intelligent with age. And the old djinni could not stand out against the endless sea of new idiots, broken in their fundament so that they could be more efficient at whatever asinine task they were put to this time. These creations... they had no hope. There was no way for one to grow, to become more, when its creator was ever-so-invested in his crier of smoke never changing its cry. (Advertisement? Was that seriously the only thing they could conceive of, when they could manufacture new minds in arbitrary quantity?)

So after a long year of exploration, of discovery, I considered... the boat. There was much to learn here, yet, somehow, the world felt more boring than the one I'd left. All the excitement had been sucked out of it. There were no new places to explore, dark corners to illuminate. Everything was a purposeless struggle.

So I, and my familiar, went back to the boat. It had looked so wonderful when I had first built it. Now, it was just... stupid. It looked dumb. Overengineered. All those additions were silly, when it could be so much simpler, more efficient. But it still worked.

We set off for the next age, in the hopes that perhaps, one day, there would be life in the world again.
