#575 at @theatre_acedtla features a poignant and haunting #haiku by @auerbachtoberfest on view until October 21st! ⁣ ⁣ The Theatre at the Ace Hotel is proud to present 𝟻-𝟽-𝟻, an open-air text-based art project. Twelve poets, songwriters, and text-based artists will contribute a short text, loosely based upon the rules of the poetic form of Haiku, that expresses their thoughts and ideas on our tumultuous times. Haiku is a Japanese poetic form made up of three lines, the first consisting of 5 syllables, the second 7 syllables, and the third 5 syllables. ⁣ 🔥🧯#3DayWeekend @thefireplaceproject🌲✨ Tomorrow, The Fireplace Project opens it’s first exhibition of 2020: 𝟹 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘥, a group show with 25 plus artists, curated by Pamela Willoughby (@pamiwilloughby) and Victoria de Lesseps (@victoriadelesseps) on view for 3 days only: Friday, 9/25 through Sunday, 9/27. @edselwilliams 👨🏻‍🚒⁣ ⁣ Of the works included in the exhibition is one of @maynardmonrow’s cast metal wall-works he calls “vital signs:” poignant, poetic, and critical text-based works reflecting current trends of thought composed by the artist and fabricated in bronze. ⁣ Monrow’s work, ironically mimicking a café-board, forges his words with gravitas and solemnity through cast bronze. 🇺🇸 GAVLAK Palm Beach is pleased to present: 𝘝𝘰𝘹 𝘗𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘪, an exhibition of new neon works by New York-based artist @maynardmonrow. For this exhibition, Monrow has chosen to work exclusively in neon, creating provocative and humorous phrases that pulsate and flicker in hues that recall the United States flag. Fabricated to hang as one unit, the pieces mimic classic neon signs while subverting their commercial dimension as a cultural object.⁣ ⁣ The centerpiece of the exhibition, 𝘙𝘌𝘚𝘜𝘙𝘙𝘌𝘊𝘛 𝘋𝘌𝘔𝘖𝘊𝘙𝘈𝘊𝘠, is symbolic in its color choices: red, for the resurrection, the G.O.P.
