Listen like I'm an artist I get it but also sometimes you shouldn't make things to sell if you can't charge a reasonable price for them. Specifically physical items like. I get that you spent days probably on this ooak doll but it's not that good. It's like high school textiles project quality. No one is going to spend $500 USD on that.

#like this is explicitly why i dont sell anything because it takes me such a long time to finish it that theyd be like a gajillion dollars #and my stuff is good. but its not that good.#practice is for making you faster and more efficient so you can charge a more reasonable price for something very high quality #if you're still figuring it out you should probably not charge much over materials cost #because you should only really be selling to make room in your house for more practice #art isnt supposed to be a lucrative capitalistic business thats why its hard to make a career out of it #you do it because its fun and inspiring and you have passion for it not to make money #you'll always lose if that's your goal.
