Through Love all that is bitter will sweet.
Through Love all that is copper will be gold.
Through Love all dregs will turn to purest wine.
Through Love all pain will turn to medicine.
Through Love the dead will all become alive.
Through Love the king will turn into a slave!

the sublime porte from Carlos Silveira on Vimeo.
the sublime porte Turkey is a country where many cultures and Eastern and Western civilizations, have crossed, with regions that are believed to have been inhabited for longer than anywhere else in the world. Its prodigious history comes of civilizations and kingdoms that have crossed for thousands of years., Hittites (3,000 BC), Assyrians (1950 BC), Chaldeans, Phrygian (1,200 BC), Cimmerians, Persians (494-334 BC), Greeks (1,200 BC) and civilizations as Hattiana the Akkadiana, the Assyrian, the Thracianos. Through Central Anatolia also have passed Persian Empire, Roman Empire, Seljuk State (1038 - 1318) and Ottoman Empire.
Located between Asia and Europe, on the shores of the Aegean and the Mediterranean its central Anatolia region is known for being the birthplace of the West and the East. The result is a powerful cultural kaleidoscope, a prodigious history, a broth of ancient cultures in the large peninsula of Anatolia and several World Heritage sites of UNESCO, including Troy, the old city of Istanbul, the white cotton castle of Pamukkale (snow white lime stones with springs of thermal water), the ancient Roman city of Ephesus, the Cleopatra set in the Roman city of Hierapolis and the House of Virgin Mary, a domed cruciform chapel near Ephesus, which became a major pilgrimage site since the century V. Cities dating back 3,000 years B.C., and the first known city in the world, Çatalhöyük, northeast of Konya, about 6500 B.C. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Istanbul, the former capital of the Ottoman and Byzantine empires is one of the most visited city-break destinations in the world. You can see the iconic buildings that once belonged to two of the greatest empires in history, Byzantine and Constantinople. One such building is the stunning and exceptionally beautiful Blue Mosque, built between 1609 and 1616, known as one of the greatest buildings in the world. It has 260 stained glass windows, 36 summits, and more than 20,000 blue tiles made in Iznik (Iznik tile art of the 16th Century). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So great interculturality, required for this film a song he knew interpret the oriental sounds and at the same time adapt to new orchestral sonorities that we know in the West. This unique and privileged music could only come from an exceptional composer: Armand Amar. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Sublime Porte" refers to the front door to the main buildings of the Ottoman palace that housed the imperial court and the open cloister where the Sultan received the ambassadors and where were held protocol meetings and receptions in Istanbul. This is a film about Turkey and its cultural heritage. The film's title refers to the gate symbology (porte) as communication between two worlds or civilizations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Filmed in Ankara, Cappadocia, in Hierapolis, Pamukkale, Konya, Ephesus and Istanbul, Turkey. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music credit to: Armand Amar – “Immigration” from album “Human”, featuring Gulay Hacer Toruk. armandamar.com/ fr-fr.facebook.com/armandamar gulayhacertoruk.com/ facebook.com/GulayHacerToruk Lévon Minassian & Armand Amar - “Nare Nare” from album “Songs from world apart”. levonminassian.com/ facebook.com/MasterOfDuduk/ Şevin – “Ederlezi”. (Kurdish language) "Ederlezi" is a popular traditional folk song of the Roma minority in the Balkans. The song got its name after Ederlezi which is a Spring festival, especially celebrated by Roma people in the Balkans. This holiday celebrates the return of springtime. It's celebrated on 6 May. There are dozens of versions sung in Romani, Turkish, English, Greek, Bulgarian, Kurdish. Of all the known versions the one I liked by the great beauty and better adapt to the footage, was the version in Kurdish language. That was the reason why it was chosen for the film. youtube.com/watch?v=zDVHaA-MyeU Gurt Lush Choir with St Mary Redcliffe All-Star Orchestra & Youth Choir – “Romany Journey, Suite for Choir & Orchestra” Live premiere at the Colston Hall. 6th July 2013. youtube.com/watch?v=mDorx07hwhU Old Ottoman Song 18/19 th Century – “Üsküdara Giderken” youtube.com/watch?v=r9No8kVSXqQ ---------------------------------------------------------- Frame of movie: “A sunrise hot air balloon trip on Göreme National Park, Turkey. ---------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for watching.

Dressed in gold (Viana do Castelo) from Carlos Silveira on Vimeo.
The Pilgrimage of the Agony (Our Lady of the Agony), patron saint of fishermen) is held every year in the city of Viana do Castelo, a city located in the north coast of Portugal and is considered the largest open-air showroom of costumes and gold in the country. More than 500 women, called "mordomas", roam the streets of the city wearing "Vianesa" native dress that so well identify Viana do Castelo and carrying around 14 million euros in hundreds of kilos of gold pieces. About a hundred, carry to the chest, 1 to 2.5 kilograms. Some even carry more than five kilograms of traditional and family gold to the breast, among centenary pieces, like earrings to the queen, and others. Other woman with simpler suits, usually carry around 100 grams in gold, namely in earrings, equally traditional or in several gold strands. A heart is the main element of all the gold that the Minho women bring to the breast. A "minhoto" heart but symbolizing the universal. This is considered the Pilgrimage of Pilgrimages of Portugal. Poster, symbol of a region, indelible vehicle of culture, of a long History, in which the phenomenon of the sacred and the imaginary go hand in hand. --------------------------------------------------- Filmed in Ponte de Lima and Viana do Castelo in August 2017.

#Human by #ArmandAmar Final Score = 9.5/10 Amar delivers one of the best scores of 2015 with a score that contains a wide range of ethnic diversity, touching themes and compelling vocal performances. This is one of those scores that makes you reflect upon your life and opens your eyes to the beauty around you. Amar has simply done a wonderful job at stirring the heart through his mastery in instrumentation and it looks like another knockout collaboration with director #YannArthusBertrand. Here is "Castells". Remember to follow FMR's Twitter page @filmusicreview😉
