Wait wait wait. So what you're telling me, Mr. Molloy, is that this was the dessert you ate after proposing to Alice, right, but also that she refused to accept? Oh, I know surely there was another proposal, but why in both cases you said it was Paris, why was the same street mentioned by you and Louis digging in your memories? Did you propose twice in the same location even though you had to put extra effort to get the right table and she said no the first time? Who does that? Or if it was the very same proposal, why did you stay to eat the dessert? Did you eat it alone? Did she eat it with you anyway? Wasn't it awkward? Answer my questions, Mr. Molloy. Do you know the truth?
#remember how daniel thought he misremembered meeting a man who set himself on fire and told him he's a young bright reporter?#and in his memoir he divided it into two separate events?#daniel might be misremembering sone things still#i know it can be interpreted as them eating the dessert at a different occasion#BUT daniel wouldn't have mentioned the proposal if it wasn't important#iwtv#daniel molloy#armand isn't alice but something doesn't add up

I was leaning towards *Alice isn't Armand* theory lately, but I rewatched ep3 yesterday, and something doesn't add up. Furthermore, I'm now thinking that first Daniel's daughter is his and Armand's kid in some capacity.
What Louis reads from Daniel's book:
I am in my Buick, staring in the rearview mirror at my daughter in the car seat, an hour after I gave Derek, a guy I don't know, the last 30 bucks I had. My editor reminds me, it's seven years before car seats are mandatory. My ex-wife reminds me, I never owned a Buick.
What I hear: he's lost a pretty huge chunk of memory around the time his daughter was a toddler + he's in some unidentified place with no money in the car he presumably didn't have. It sounds to me completely like the beginning of the dm chapter or any other time he left the night island to be a vagabond again, only there's a plus one.
The thing is, I don't think he would have such a big memory loss after he was left alone to continue his life as a human. He's too confused here.
I assumed Alice is a real woman based on the fact it's Louis who speaks about the pregnancy and he seemingly doesn't have any motivation to lie about it. But does he really? Eric mentioned they take turns lying. Pregnancy could be a fake memory for all we know. Or a fucking real one with some random woman and Armand a father (god, lol, I hope not), considering Fareed might have already been there at the time. Or Armand has picked up a little orphan somewhere (which is more realistic to me as he's done this in tva) and is pitching the idea to Daniel while he ignores him. Or okay, the pregnancy is real, it's Daniel's kid, but Armand is still around when she's born and is growing up.
What puzzles me even more is Armand's expression when Louis starts pull this dialog out of Daniel's head. Could be absolutely anything as well: jealousy, "remember what an asshole you were with me?", etc.
Anyway, my point is: the daughter was there when something vampiric was still happening.
