A little unofficial RP group based off @entervoidex had its own Armageddon event recently

What started as a riot against the police over demon citizen rights escalated into an all out natural disaster when Dairyu was summoned against the VCPD, and her approach included a superstorm across Void City. The cataclysm drew in gods and mortals alike from across the board

Dairyu (air creation god) and Stormsurge (leader of terrorist or freedom fighter group Children of Void) were the Armageddon Threats for this event

The Defenders were: Crikey Dile, Harrison Merrystride, Brittany Marshall, Steph, Charlotte Grey, and Battle Cleric Rocío

Like in the side story collabs there were many small adventures taking place along the edges of the battle, including the exploits of Spiderella and Dr Claude Jung, Enoch and the Scions, and many others

Vidia had been stirring the fires of civil unrest in Void City for months, the powder keg exploding in unexpected but welcoming ways. She continued to operate from behind the scenes while the chaos drew in both characters’ pantheons to assess the bloodshed

As you can see, I’ve created a comic page. I have no clue where the story will go- that’s up to you! Reblog this post with a comic continuing the story, and then from there, someone else can reblog, or I can reblog…and maybe we’ll have a story!

Heck, maybe we’ll have multiple reblog chains with multiple stories. Who knows!

I intend this to be similar to an RP in a way, but with less rules and a free come-and-go sort of thing!

RULES:

-Keep it PG-13! Swearing is okay. Gore / horror is fine, and I personally am okay with sensitive topics, but tag them appropriately!

-This comic has an apocalyptic setting! Think “Invasion of the Bunny Lovers” but they’re actually zombies.

-Shipping within the story is fine, just nothing illegal!

-Nothing hateful!

-Art can be of any quality!

-You can reblog from any point! Even if somebody makes a continuation from a certain post, you can still continue from the same post! Branching storylines sounds really cool!

Fun fact! My second ever series was slated to be a fantasy series, but I absolutely shit canned the whole thing. I'll never, ever produce it so I'm gonna yap about it here. It was an adaptation of a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I wrote and DMed back in 2020 called Cobañera.

The story began with the listener attacking the main speaker (Thorne) with powerful magic. As he struggles against her spells, he tells her to try and remember their journey, that she doesn't really want to kill him. The story flashes back to one year prior, where they first met.

In a world where magic once thrived but is now heavily repressed after a prophecy fortelling the progress of magic would cause a world-ending war, two young and hungry directionless youths meet. They take on an odd job to transport a sealed crate containing a decommissioned and illegal magical artifact to be fully disposed of. On their journey, however, they are attacked by a member of a radical rebellion group (Plague Covenant) determined to restore magic to the world to it's former glory by forcefully infecting people with a plague that imbues them with dangerous and unstable wild magic.

They try to flee, but can't outrun their attackers. The listener tries to save Thorne from the Plague Covenant, and to her surprise, manages to do so using magic. The Plague Covenant yields when they see she is gifted with magic and leave them alone, with both the Listener and Thorne absolutely in shock that she could cast spells.

They become fearful that if someone learned of her magic, they would believe she was infected with the plague. They seek the help of the few who still understand magic, and find themselves entangled between three warring factions, all with different interpretations of the prophecy.

Anyway I got writer's block before I could write the middle of the story. The big plot twist towards the turning point of the plot was that the prophecy never showed their world's future, but rather the past of a long-dead world from a parallel timeline where the magic equivalent of nuclear armageddon took place. The bigger plot twist was that a few hundred powerful individuals from the old timeline escaped to their world before being annihilated. The records of their past were shown to the people of the main story's timeline as a "prophecy" to ensure that the only weapon powerful enough to stop them (the magical doomsday device from the other timeline) would never be built.

The bigger BIGGER plot twist was that the listener originated in the other timeline, AND her parents were the leaders of the super secret super evil final boss faction, ANDDDDD they had been engineering her entire life behind the scenes to make her into a powerful magical prodigy ANNNNNDDDD they brainwash her into becoming their leader and like AAAAAAUUUUGGGHH SRTFFHJG.

Anyway, my cat destroyed my laptop and I had to take a hiatus and work on a smaller, shittier backup laptop that could barely edit sound. I got writer's block and started writing another series instead called San Sequestro 1987, which later became The Neon Barbarian.

Anyway, I never came back to Cobañera. Why? I was struggling to convert a (thirty game long, four-player character) Dungeons and Dragons campaign into an eight episode game. Also, things that work for a tabletop RPG story just don't always work well as an audio roleplay story. There were like a million bazillion plot twists and the abundance of factions that made the story more interesting in the tabletop game made the story worse in the audio RP by just absolutely bogging everything down and making everything messy and convoluted.

I ended up just hating the whole thing. I hated the chosen one plot point, I hated that the plot hinged on the introduction of a bullshit multiverse plot device, I hated the fact that the final villains were randomly the listener's parents. I hated the countless tropes I peppered into the script that are forgivable in an interactive medium like a Dungeons and Dragons game but absolutely dull clichés in a scripted story.

Also my character had a funky fantasy British accent but I hated every rehearsal take I did with that accent. The listener's nickname was, I kid you not, "Cheeky". Around the time my fat idiot cat sent my computer to the shadow realm, I discovered a much more popular VA who's audience seemed to heavily overlap with mine named Scythe Audio. His flagship series featured a similarly impertinant speaker with an English accent and a Listener nicknamed Cheeky and I just stared at the YouTube video thinking "you're fucking kidding me lmao hahaha what the FUCK".

I think that was the last straw for me and I just abandoned the project entirely. A million zillion rewrites and then I found this uncanny similarity to this other VA and I just decided the rewrites weren't worth it for this fuckass story. I ended up becoming friends with Scythe after discovering him through that though lmao so silver lining.

So this au, is basically like normal at first. Aziraphale and crowley, Angel and demon. Everything’s normal. Until Crowley accidentally walks on a ancient demon territory, called the Garden of Fate. When he walks into it he is bound by a curse to the garden. In which he changes. The curse makes him think he is the guardian of the garden and he has to stop anyone from infiltrating or disrupting the peace of the garden.

He can leave the garden but by sunset no matter what he’ll end up back at the garden.

And each day is like a gamble. Because some days the curse makes him not remember anything besides the knowledge that he’s the guardian of the garden and needs to protect the garden from anybody.

And some days he’s just normal. He remembers everything, his friends and such but still hears very vague orders from the curse to tell him to protect the garden if anybody enters it.

Hope this makes sense…

And I have my own version for if Aziraphale happened to suffer the fate instead!

-Aziraphale is taken by heaven after he gets in the elevator hes straight up tortured. And maybe crowley saves him but aziraphale of course is fucking traumatized.

-Aziraphale is legit thrown into the void for punishment for his actions. By the time hes finnaly brought out hes practically shattered mentally and basically its crowley helping put him back together.

-after finding out about Aziraphale and Crowley’s many schemes and such they decide to kill two birds with one stone. Heaven and hell working together to basically use their control to force Crowley to kill Aziraphale (who either dies and maybe gets reincarnated as a human) and or metatron takes his essence splitting it into two. One part basically works for heaven (being his loyal side) and then the other part, the true parts of Aziraphale such as his love for Crowley and Earth stays stuck in an amulet on a shelf.

basically After aziraphale and Crowley stop the second armageddon heaven and hell has had enough. Aziraphale is requested to appear at the church. Aziraphale finds himself unable to move once he walks inside facing the wrath of heaven and hell. His body being burnt with hellfire and consumed with holy water as his body starts to hurt along with his wings. Crowley was also requested to show up and upon him showing up Crowley sees aziraphale who calls for his help. But in Crowleys panic he runs away. Leaving aziraphale to suffer the wrath of heaven and hell. And Gabriel basically manipulates Aziraphale. Telling him Crowley left him, he was the reason he suffered. Becoming somewhat of an equivalent to Gabriel’s “extra weapon.” Heaven and hell using him to continue the process of starting armageddon. Crowley hasn’t seen him in years because of the guilt. But eventually, they meet again. (I changed it up a bit because it was a bit rushed and stuff)

idk I guess it's an unpopular opinion (tho again maybe not because I feel like for as much as that was a TRAGIC cliffhanger we're all kinda like...into it, right? lmaooo) but I feel like the break-up was a long time coming and needed to happen in order for them to progress the relationship forward. Of course I love post season one fics where they're already a couple after failed armageddon and everything's perfect and fine and that's kind of what I just entertained until I knew more of the story was going to be told because IN THAT CASE!!

I guess it's been said already, but I've always felt like for as close as they were at the end of season one and for as much as it seems like they've carved out a niche for themselves that works, there's something about it that has always felt sort of tenuous for me, and I feel like it's manifested in times that I've written them in post season one, either solo or in RP with a friend. Sometimes it's heaven/hell not being done with them and only pretending to stand back while thinking of a way to get them, but often it's that plus their own sense of loyalty to themselves or outer entities, etc.

As season 2 establishes and as I always kind of suspected, Aziraphale has never really 'given up' on heaven, perhaps not aided by the fact that I don't think Crowley ever gave him specific details of what went on during his trial. The tribulations of the first act of the story don't really destroy Aziraphale's confidence in what he's always believed to be true, it just leads him to think the wrong people have been in charge, still leaving him with this sense of 'this = good' and 'this = bad' and, well...Crowley is still a demon.

Now, of course, Crowley usually falls into a rationalized category of 'Not Like Other Demons' for Aziraphale and most of the time that's fine, but when push comes to shove it turns into a bigger, more divisive issue than anything they can ignore because, ultimately, Az thinks everything will be fine once they're both on the same side of 'good'. Once Crowley is as he used to be. Because surely that's what he REALLY wants as well?? WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO BE AN ANGEL??

And in that way, Crowley has his own sense of loyalty that clashes with Aziraphale's, but I think it's really a loyalty to himself. I don't mean that in a derogatory way at all. I don't mean to imply that he really IS selfish and evil. I mean to say that Crowley has accepted who and what he is, that for as much as God's forsaking of him still haunts his sense of self, he accepts his fate with lurid enthusiasm. Unforgivable, that's what he is. Fine! Because if earning god or heaven's love means being other than what he really truly is and wants to be, then it means nothing and also fuck them.

In that way though, Aziraphale is also 'not like other angels' for Crowley, because there's this sort of understanding that he either doesn't care or accepts him anyway and honestly I think the reason Crowley avoids talking about that for so long is because he doesn't really want to know which it is. But then he finds out, because circumstances have forced them to. And I notice that while he is devastated, he doesn't seem surprised. Sort of like Crowley always knew they were going to have to face this crossroads eventually and knew what Aziraphale was going to choose.

I can't really fault either of them for making their respective choices. If anything, my admiration for Crowley's character has increased a hundred fold and I was already partial to him lmao. It's not easy to choose yourself and your own self-preservation and the truth of who you are over anything else, over the threat of really, truly being alone, but...he does, and I think there's a takeaway in that. And I get where Aziraphale is coming from too, even for how painful and seemingly selfish it is (but I don't think it is, not in intention anyway).

idk this became a ramble but I feel like it all makes sense and is crucial to really exploring what that love between them could truly be in the end.
