Ark: Aberration Edition
Submitted by @saberamane
I’m back with the next ‘Ark Survival Evolved AC Edition’!
They have finally figured out the whole thing going on with ‘Scorched Earth’, defeat the Manticore (which Desmond is super bummed out that he couldn’t tame that thing, it was so cool), they ‘ascend’ again, and the new area they land in is horrible. But also pretty cool. Desmond loves all the bio luminescent creatures to be found on ‘Aberration’.
(Just a note, they all have a Rock Drake, so it won’t be listed with their other tames.)
Desmond:
Aberrant Carno
Aberrant Equus
1 Ravager (She’s more ‘pet’ than ‘tame’, she’s pretty but not ‘high level’ so she stays at base. Basically she’s an event color dino.)
Basilisk
Seeker (non-tameable, but it’s Desmond. He wanted the little eldritch flying creature, so he got it.)
Reaper King (Of course)
Shoulder Pet: Bulbdog (He finds it right away and needed it. It’s one of those ‘it’s so ugly it’s cute’ scenarios.)
Altair:
Aberrant Otter
Aberrant Purlovia
Aberrant Pulmonoscorpius
Aberrant Parasaur
Karkinos
Aberrant Megalosaurus
Shoulder Pet: Shinehorn (I just enjoy the thought of Altair having an adorable little goat on his shoulder all the time.)
Ezio:
Aberrant Ovis
Aberrant Spino
Aberrant Paracer
Aberrant Doedicurus
Roll Rat
Aberrant Baryonyx
Shoulder Pet: Featherlight (It reminds him of Petruccio, and all the feathers he used to collect for his little brother. Needless to say, anything so much as looks at this featherlight wrong dies.)
Ratonhnhaké:ton:
Aberrant Megalania
Aberrant Iguanodon
Aberrant Direbear
Pack of Aberrant Raptor’s
Pack of Ravagers
Aberrant Sarco
Shoulder Pet: Glowtail (They are noted as having the quickest recharge of their light of all ‘glow pets’, which would greatly benefit Ratonhnhaké:ton as he’s typically the ‘hunter’)

At this point, they have all agreed to just let Desmond do whatever thing he does and they don’t even bat an eye anymore if Desmond returns with some kind of monster/animal that shouldn’t be tameable. At some point, it’s become a running joke about what next untameable beast Desmond would return with. Altaïr is currently winning with his suggestion of “God” and the deadpan way he stated it and the fact that they all know he’s an atheist makes it all the more funnier and it’s really hard to top that one.
(All of their Rock Drakes have the same ‘nest’ and a few months later, they learned that one of them laid an egg and they’re not entirely sure which one it is?)
Desmond:
His Abberant Carno is named Rex The Second because, according to him, Rex Two sounds a bit ‘sad’.
His Equus is usually used for patrols nearby.
His Ravager follows him around the base and likes to get pets but doesn’t like it when others try to pet him. He actually just followed Desmond into the base and just… never left.
His Basilisk is a jerk. He likes to burrow deep underneath the ground then pop out whenever someone passed by. Nobody gets surprised anyway since the Basilisk glows as light blue in their Eagle Vision but still… jerk move. But he mostly accompanies Desmond whenever he goes out because it’s a good companion for taming other monsters/beasts.
Altaïr had researched on the Seekers before to check if they could be tamed and, if not, what’s the best way to take them own, and that’s how he theorized that the reason why Desmond got a Seeker is because it sees Desmond as a light source. His Seeker is always energetic and acts the same way wild Seekers would act whenever they are near light sources like a Bulbdog which earns Desmond the nickname “Our very own Bulbdog”
Oh god. Oh my god. Are we saying that Desmond got impregnated by a female Reaper since that’s the only way to get a Reaper ingame? Are we going for that? Because I hella am in for that! Just imagine Altaïr checking Desmond after an encounter with a Ravager Queen that left him alive and him gravely saying, “You’re… pregnant.” and everyone just stares at Desmond and Desmond is like “It’s not like that! Oh my god, no!” In the end, Desmond ‘shoots’ out the baby Reaper and takes care of it like… I guess a child of his own (oh man, the angst that will happen when they leave this Ark and have to leave the Reaper behind, yeeesss)
Desmond likes to keep the Bulbdog with him always and its deathly afraid of the Seeker but the Seeker just ignores it and goes for Desmond every time.
Altaïr:
Altaïr’s Otter mostly does whatever it wants but he serves mostly as Altaïr’s assistant, bringing him tools or holding things for Altaïr while he’s busy with his current project.
His Purlovia primarily just lazes around in his workshop but he always likes to burrow all over and is sorta maybe best friends with Desmond’s Basilisk? Or maybe they’re burrowing rivals, no one is really sure.
His Pulmonoscorpius usually accompanies him whenever he’s away from their base as it’s a good bodyguard and its poison can be used to weaken or tamed any beast that catches his fancy (and the poison is also used for some of his creations). He got his Pulmonoscorpius from a cave too so he uses that as a mount whenever he goes to a cave so other monsters/beasts won’t be alerted.
His Parasaur loves to gather berries. No one knows why but he just lets him do what he wants since Parasaur also warns them of any dangers near their base that he sees during his berry picking.
What his Karkinos lacks in speed, he makes up with his sheer utility. If his Otter is his assistant in the base, the Karkinos is his assistant when out in the wilds and there have been many encounters that ended in their favor thanks to him.
No, Desmond, this Megalosaurus will not be named Megalosaurus the Second. No. Megalosaurus Junior is also out of the question. Stop it.
Shinehorn is a good lightsource. That’s the reason why he’s on Altaïr’s shoulder. Yup. That’s the only reason why. No, the fact that Desmond had been the one to give it to him had nothing to do with Altaïr’s preferential treatment to the damn goat.
Ezio:
To continue with the whole ‘naming farm creatures’, these herd of Ovis have a Haytham, an Abbas (the one that always tries to chew Altaïr’s robes) and a Lucy (named after Lucrezia Borgia or so Desmond says)
His Spino mainly patrols all of Ezio’s other tames and he actually let Desmond name it Spino the Second.
His Paracer served as their first base actually while they were looking for a good place to ‘settle down’ as Desmond likes to call it. He’s their oldest tame and he mainly just lounges in the base as a reward for having to deal with all the shenanigans the group had to go thru while he served as their mobile base.
Doedicurus likes to roll around and, really, Ezio enjoys watching his Doedicurus roll around to beat the crap of any creature that tries any funny business.
Roll Rat was used to help build their base, mostly by rolling onto obstacles to destroy them. Now, he’s mainly used to harvest wood and mushrooms. Hell, he and Parasaur sometimes return at the same time filled with berries they have collected. Desmond called it berry-bonding.
Baryonyx is Ezio’s primary companion when he goes outside and also their main source of underwater resources.
Featherlight is nicknamed ‘asfoor’ which means little sparrow and Ezio has a soft spot for it. He once gifted Desmond one of the feather that had fallen from the Featherlight and Desmond is the only person who understands how much the little creature reminds Ezio of his family (not just Petruccio but Maria Auditore as well)
Ratonhnhaké:ton
Megalania is always almost on walls or ceilings and helps by ambushing hostile creatures while they’re focused on Ratonhnhaké:ton and his ‘main force’.
Iguanodon usually helps with farming and gathering resources in the base but he’s important when Ratonhnhaké:ton leaves for long periods of time as he helps hunt food and resources they may need in the wild (like poison that Ratonhnhaké:ton can use to craft items)
Ratonhnhaké:ton refused to call his new Dire Bear Dire Bear The Second because that he felt like he was comparing it to his previous Dire Bear. He did agree to naming it Teddy Bear though. (he doesn’t know what teddybear actually means)
His main force is composed of a pack of Aberrant Raptors that all have names and Ratonhnhaké:ton can distinguish each of them with a glance. They’re very well coordinated with the ambush tactics of the Megalania and like to corral their enemies to where the Magalania is waiting to pounce them.
The pack of Ravagers is actually the children of the Ravager that followed Desmond to their base. Every time they’re in the base, they stay with their mother (which means Desmond takes care of them). They’re very energetic and the Raptors actually usually have to corral them to stay in formation.
Sarco is Ratonhnhaké:ton’s preferred mount whenever there is a need to dive somewhere.
Glowtail prefers to wrap around Ratonhnhaké:ton neck and sometimes around the crown of his head.

I’m finally back with the Ark/AC Fusion!!
They reach the deepest depths of the subterranean cave they’ve called home for the past while, and find the platform for the final ‘boss’ of the area. Entering, they encounter the deformed, tentacled monster that was once ‘Rockwell’ (which Ezio says, firmly, that that was on the list of things he definitely wouldn’t consider having sex with), and in time, put him out of his misery.
As the portal readies to ‘ascend’ them, Desmond says a last, tearful farewell to his Reaper, placing it in a cryo pod and leaving it in the saddle of his rock drake.
As they are lifted up, following the spinal like machinery back up towards they came down, all the broken down machines begin to light up until they reach the very beginning of where they started. A bright flash of light and the portal whisks them away.
Only this time, they are not transported through space to a new ‘ark’, they are sent to earth. And earth does not look good. There are spires of crystallized element erupting from the ground, and the dirt is dry as dust and lifeless, not a single spec of green anywhere to be seen. And the creatures are ‘infected’ with the element as well, large parts of them replaced with black and purple, looking like decayed flesh.
They’ve barely taken in their surroundings when these infected creatures begin to take notice, and run towards them.
Surprisingly they’re saved, by a white and red tek Giga of all things. And who does Desmond see on it’s back?
Clay.
Desmond:
Velonasaur
Gasbag
Defense Unit
Mega Mek
Forest Wyvern
Ice Titan
Altair:
Enforcer
Scout
Gacha
Rubble Golem
Thylacoleo
Yeti
Ezio:
Managarmr (Because they’re flashy as fuck, and Ezio is all about the ‘bling’, lol)
Dire Bear
Tapejara
Rex (Ol’ reliable lol)
Daeodon
Desert Titan
Ratonhnhaké:ton:
Snow Owl (I just feel he’d really like their heat vision, and they can heal which would help him when exploring.)
Rock Elemental (Because sometimes you just need a tanky boy.)
Yutyranus
Megalosaurus (Cave runs!)
Iguanodon
Forest Titan
Clay!!: He Lives!! And only has tek Creatures
Tek Giga (totally hacked, not legit tame AT ALL, because you can’t legit get them.)
Tek Rex
Tek Raptor Pack
Tek Quetzal
Tek Parasaur
Enforcer
And as a surprise, Clay, the best man to ever live, hacks an orbital drop to get Desmond’s Reaper for him. And he is definitely judging Desmond about this, even though he knows how this happens. I mean, Desmond could have just left the thing out in the wild to fend for itself…
Now then, how is Clay here? He doesn’t know exactly. He woke up on ‘Extinction’ with that weird gem thing in his wrist, and all engrams/dossier’s unlocked. For a long while he thought he was still in an animus or something…
Also, he is linked to Ezio, and Ezio only, so when Ezio dies… Clay does too. And the first time it happens is a surprise to everyone BUT Desmond. Clay is not please with being linked to someone else, especially when they die often…

Clay would add an interesting dynamic to the mix too, especially if he’s being a chaotic gremlin.
Also, the fact that Clay can hack the system is such an OP move at this point that I think we need to give Clay a disadvantage of some kind to level the playing field (because the other OP character we have is Desmond and his OP-ness is ‘random’ as far as everyone knows although it seemed to have a higher chance of working on bosses which is more of a rule of funny than anything else).
May I suggest, Clay actually has the lowest ‘stats’ of the four? Like, yeah, he has all engrams/dossiers unlocked BUT he gets tired and hungry quicker than anybody else and his inventory is lower than the others (even if he ups his inventory using other means like a mount, it is still lower than it should be).
Clay thinks someone is out to get him because he’s cheating the system or because he’s not meant to be there in the first place and his entire existence was some sort of accident. Maybe even both!
So, because of Clay’s ‘limitation’, he tends to stay near the base because (1) he’s squishy so he could easily die and (2) if Ezio dies, he dies anyway. Staying near the base means that anything that stayed on his ‘corpse’ could be retrieved if necessary.
Desmond
Reaper does not count as a tame in this ark because Reaper is technically a ‘mod’ at this point and it seems to aggro everything that sees it so, yeah, his Reaper is safer in the base as a lookout/patrol. Full on bored kid always happy to see their working parent come home and play with them vibes.
His Velonasaur usually joins him when he’s out in the ‘wilds’, acting as both a decoy and a DPS attacker with his thorn and spine attacks to keep the enemy (especially flying ones) switching between two or more targets. He also sometimes acts as a scout but Desmond prefers him to stay close by as more of an early radar if Desmond is too focused on one direction.
Gasbag was tamed sorta unintentionally? Desmond found a Gasbag wounded and he felt bad for the poor fella so he gave him food to try and heal him. That amount of food was enough to tame him (and maybe Desmond’s random glitchy taming ability might also be in play) and he followed Desmond back to the base. He works more as both pack mule and also a source for more oxygen. Desmond definitely does not like him to be part of any fighting because he just sees him as a sweet mild-mannered tame, even going as far as feeling scandalous when Altaïr suggested that he could be a good decoy.
Everyone calls bullshit on Desmond taming a Defense Unit. Like, everyone knows by now that if there is any monster/creature/whatever that could not be tamed in this Ark, it would be the sci-fi looking crab robot thingie. Desmond swears he tamed him the ‘natural way’. They all think it’s bullshit but, at this point, they just accepted that Desmond was bound to freaking tame one or two untameables this time anyway. The Defense Unit itself is kept near the base as more of patrol and it likes to attack anything near the base that doesn’t register as an ally to Desmond. This does mean that any other patrolling tames usually grabs the carcass of anything the Defense Unit has killed back to the base for easy ‘good boy’ praises (even though everyone knows it was probably killed by the Defense Unit).
Altaïr built the Mega Mek after a few Meks have been built that have a prototype hidden blades. Desmond gave him the big puppy dog “I want one pleeeasse?” eyes after seeing Altaïr’s own Enforcer and hearing how he liked watching shows of robots fighting back in New York. Everyone gives Altaïr the knowing ‘you’re so totally whipped’ look when he presented the Mega Mek (which was created using the previous experimental Meks) to Desmond. This is Desmond’s preferred vehicle of choice and as a Vorpal TEK Cleaver as its main right hand weapon and Altaïr’s latest hidden blade attachment as its left hand weapon (the next version will have a hook blade attachment because Ezio insists)
Because of Mega Mek, the Forest Wyvern is usually used for aerial attacks or if Desmond needs to scout some place from high up. Forest Wyvern is also his usual go to AOE attacker and Gasbag is afraid of the fire.
Unsurprisingly, the Ice Titan serves as the main attacker in Desmond’s ‘pack’. Desmond and the Ice Titan usually tag team every enemy into oblivion while it’s distracted by the Forest Wyvern or the Velonasaur. Desmond never leaves the base without his buddy Ice Titan (which he may or may not be calling Vanilla Ice, Clay stresses he should not be allowed to call him Vanilla Ice).
Altaïr
The Enforcer is his main mount mostly because of how adaptable to the environment it is. His Enforcer is usually called Altaïr’s Monster by Clay because it’s not just one ‘tamed’ Enforcer. It’s multiple Enforcers all ‘stitched up’ by Altaïr’s audacity after he learned that fully crafted Enforcers can only be level 1 and he hates the game of chance of having enemy Enforcers leave blueprints of random quality so he just went “I’ll take my base Enforcer and just keep upgrading him with other Enforcers parts”. Clay is sure cannibalizing parts from other Enforcers is also against the rule but everyone just accepts it because Altaïr is already in his mad scientist phase and every mad scientist needs to create a monster that may become their undoing as a treat. Why is the Enforcer most probably going to be his undoing? Well, it’s a modded Enforcer for all intents and purposes so it is one of their highest damage dealing ‘tames’ at the moment (maybe only rivaled by the Mega Mek)
As the name says, Scout is usually used by Altaïr to scout around so Altaïr could plan his route better. Unlike the Enforcer, Altaïr didn’t bother to mod his Scout BUT he does have a lot lying around the base because of their varying qualities so everyone believes he plans to mod his current Scout at one point or another. It is also sometimes used to lure targets into traps or, if Altaïr believes that Desmond plans to go to a dangerous area OR thinks Desmond might be planning something stupid, he would let Desmond ‘borrow’ his Scout and the Scout’s only instruction is to keep healing Desmond’s Mega Mek. Desmond can’t even use it to scout around because the Scout’s main and only order as far as its concern is to keep healing the Mega Mek.
The Gacha stays in the base to keep producing resources, especially crystals. Altaïr tried to make a farm but noticed that the Gachas tend to become sad if Gachas of the same gender are near each other and then Altaïr had to get a female Gacha for both of them to stop being sad then they had children. At some point, Altaïr had unintentionally built a large enclosure to ensure the current Gachas are not sad OR trying to overwhelm the base’s population with more baby Gachas. (Clay had suggested they just kill the excess Gachas, at which Altaïr grumbled that Desmond wouldn’t like that if he heard about it and Clay just made a whipping sound). One of them actually gives loot instead and Altaïr is trying to study how the hell that happened.
So apparently Rubble Golem cannot be tamed but Rock Elemental can be? But if we want Altaïr to have a Rubble Golem instead, we can make it as a thank you gift from Desmond for the Mega Mek? Either way, this one is mainly used to mine resources for Altaïr’s ‘studies’.
It might not be his original Thylacoleo but Altaïr tends to forget that at times. It doesn’t mind. It mostly stays near Altaïr acting like an oversized lazy cat.
Okay. So this one is weird. There’s a Yeti in a cave near their base and Altaïr is currently studying it from afar because… it’s sorta a fascinating creature to him? Like it seemed to understand them to some degree and he would like to study it further before killing it (if the need to kill it does come up in the first place). Clay jokes that, soon enough, that Yeti will start learning sign language. That only made Altaïr curious if that would be possible.
Ezio:
Ezio would insist that he got a Managarmr because he’s all about the bling as Clay and Desmond like to tease. But also, the Managarmr is one of the more ‘dangerous’ mounts to use as they can attract aggro easily thanks to their ambush attacks and flashiness sooooo… there may be a reason why Clay dies a lot in this game thanks to Ezio XD (because of this though, Ezio’s other tames rarely, if ever, get hurt)
If Ratonhnhaké:ton’s previous Dire Bear was more on the attacking and mule side, Ezio’s Dire Bear is more of a jack of all trades but master of not. Loves to gather everything and anything it sees to get pets from Ezio. Fast enough that it could be used as a scout. Definitely packs a punch. And can take more weight than most.
Tapejara is his aerial support and usually used to ferry him and his other tames into usually inaccessible areas. Tapejara is highly skilled because it does a lot of things, including stealing eggs while the mother is distracted.
Th T-rex is called Cars 2 (in honor of Desmond's T Rex named Car) which Clay claims to be an underrated Pixar movie that deserves more love. Desmond insists Clay is being sarcastic. Nobody else gets the reference.
Daeodon is a tame that everyone insists (especially Clay!) that Ezio brings with him because of its healing abilities. Seriously, Ezio needs it the most this time around for some reason (there are theories that the monsters that easily aggros on Ezio might have ‘smelled’ or ‘felt’ his connection to Clay and that’s the reason why Ezio has the second highest respawns in this around, 1st is Clay and that’s because of Ezio’s deaths mostly. It really says something that Desmond who would have to respawn if anyone BUT Clay dies is the 3rd highest this time around and he likes to ‘take a walk’)
The Desert Titan is usually used as a mobile base and Ezio taught it how to grab his corpse and run away. Actually, his tames had been taught of “Dead Ezio Protocol” which can be summarized as ‘grab Ezio’s corpse and find a safe place while keeping each other safe’. The Desert Titan usually served as the leader in that scenario with the Managarmr becoming bait and decoy while Tapejara flies back to the base to get Ezio.
Ratonhnhaké:ton
Absolutely agree. Ratonhnhaké:ton would like Snow Owl’s utility and also use him as a messenger if any of the others are nearby.
Rock Elemental: Yeeeess, the tank of Ratonhnhaké:ton’s pack and also the real MVP considering the amount of fighting they do.
Ratonhnhaké:ton let Desmond name Yutyrannus “Yuty Junior” in honor of the first Yuty. Ratonhnhaké:ton’s Yuty though is more on the buff-debuff side than pure damage, giving roars that ups attacks of damaged tames (which tend to happen) and weakens enemies.
Ratonhnhaké:ton asked Altaïr if he’d like to name his Megalosaurus in honor of Altaïr’s old Megalosaurus but Altaïr just reminded Ratonhnhaké:ton that he didn’t exactly name all of his tames. That’s more of Desmond and Ezio’s thing (Clay sighs and tells Desmond that naming them only makes it harder to let them go and Desmond groans that he knows that but he can’t help it, they look so sad without names and Clay will stress that, no, they do not, that Gacha is sad because he’s not getting any Gachussy). In honor of the nameless Megalosaurus, Ratonhnhaké:ton names his Megalosaurus Junior. (No one knows if he’s being serious or if it was a joke)
Iguanodon was one of Ratonhnhaké:ton’s first tames in this Ark but she’s been heavily outclassed by the other tames and the places Ratonhnhaké:ton now goes too can be quite dangerous for her. Mainly, she serves to gather food and act as a pack mule for the pack so they can continue on even longer without returning to base.
Forest Titan has a building on its back that stores most of Ratonhnhaké:ton’s other attack items including weapons, ammos and they serve as a mini-sorta base but not really a base? There is a bed there so Ratonhnhaké:ton can respawn on the back of the Forest Titan (he told Ezio he should do that as well but Ezio’s like ‘naahh, it’ll be fine’). The Forest Titan also serves as an offhand tank if Rock Elemental needs to tap out for a bit.
Clay
Tek Giga might have been the trigger that makes everything aggro at Clay. The Tek Giga was Clay’s first hack and hacking in this Ark takes a long time so he could not do it anymore because of all the aggros. However, with the help of others, Clay is planning to try hacking another one. Maybe even the big boss just for shits and giggles XD
Tek Rex and the Tek Raptor Pack are Clay’s main damagers. He calls them his “Jurassic Park Gang”. Only Desmond gets that reference of course.
Tek Quetzal is usually his go to mount whenever some big fight is happening and staying on Tek Giga or even Tek Rex would be dangerous.
Tek Parasaur is there to cause chaos, master of hit and run attacks and also… berry gathering. This one looovvveeesss stimberry and the common joke is that it’s tweaking when it’s out gathering stimberries XD
His Enforcer is something he fully crafted on his own and, no, he will not do that abdomination that Altaïr was still doing. At some point, Clay thinks Altaïr should just stop but he knows he won’t. He had a taste of what it feels like to be Frankenstein and he’s going to keep going until the Monster finally says no. (Desmond tells him to stop being so overly dramatic)

Ark: Scorched Earth Edition
Submitted by @saberamane
Time for Scorched Earth! (And going forward, I’m head-cannoning that it’s a Harem situation going on.) So they defeat the overseer (which was weird), ascend (which was stress inducing) and land on Scorched Earth (which is plain aggravating).
And the first thing that happens to them? Multiple respawns due to terror birds, pigs, wolves, and wyvern’s, seriously what the fuck.
The last straw is when they finally find each other, and a Kapro jumps out of no where to try and take a piece out of Ratonhnhaké:ton. After a brief scuffle, it ends with Ratonhnhaké:ton chocking the Kapro out, bare handed. Desmond is unreasonably turned on. (And he see’s your side eye’s Altair, Ezio.)
And so they set out, carefully, to set up a new base and figure out whats going on, and what they have to do now. And they need new tames. Joy.
Desmond:
Moschops
Paraceratherium
Tek Rex
Lightning Wyvern (because he’s from the future where electricity is prevalent.)
Deathworm
Phoenix (of course he has the phoenix.)
Shoulder Pet: Jerboa
Altair:
Titanoboa (Which Desmond hates, snakes shouldn’t be that big…)
Thyla
Procoptodon
Multiple jug bug’s
Rock Elemental (Mostly used for guarding the base.)
Fire Wyvern
Ezio:
Iguanodon
Daeodon
Lymantria
Mantis
Morellatops
2 Wyvern’s, a fire and a Poison
Ratonhnhaké:ton:
Pulmonoscorpius (Which they get poison from, easier than trying to get it from the wyvern’s…)
Tapejara
Thyla
Thorny Dragon
Kaprosuchus (The one he chocked out.)
Poison Wyvern (Because he has poison darts in AC3.)
Shoulder Pet: Vulture

Desmond would dedicate a part of their base as a tribute to their ‘fallen’ tames, half because he does feel sad and half because he finds everyone’s reaction funny. They’re trying to be supportive but it’s clear they think Desmond had finally lost it.
Ah, what love can do to a person… and, apparently, 3 persons.
Altaïr had to put his foot down that no, they cannot just waste all their materials to make the tombstones Desmond want for each tame. They finally reached an agreement to make an obelisk carved with every tame’s name and a brief description of each tame. The three couldn’t help their hearts from beating too fast when Desmond’s description for Cars is “my beloved tame gifted to me by my beloveds”
.… Cesare’s description is “best eggs, worst attitude”.
The obelisk is in one corner of the inner part of their base, surrounded by flowers. The flowers… just popped up out of nowhere. They have no idea where they came from because Desmond just made the obelisk and placed it on an empty spot. It’s only while they continue to explore the new Ark that they realize that the obelisks they see all around the ark do have flowers growing nearby and…
It seemed Desmond had created a nonfunctioning (non floating) obelisk by accident. At this point, they wouldn’t even be surprised if Desmond had found a glitch again. Glitches seemed to find Desmond naturally.
As usual, Altaïr is focused on research and making sure their base is well protected. Ezio takes care of their essentials while Ratonhnhaké:ton checks out the land. Sometimes, he’s accompanied by one of them, usually either Desmond or Altaïr since if he was with Ezio, that meant if Ezio dies, their supplies would be left without anyone to keep it safe). It becomes easier to survey the Ark once they get flying mounts and Desmond loves it when they go flying in their wyverns even for just a bit.
It’s… freeing.
And their wyverns are special since they were hatched, not tamed.
Altaïr’s fire wyvern actually came from the same nest as Ezio’s while Ezio’s and Ratonhnhaké:ton’s poison wyverns are from separate nests.
Desmond’s Lightning Wyvern is actually the oldest of the Wyverns, having been one of he first eggs they got. The three decided Desmond should have it.
They’re trying not to get attached to the tames this time since it’s highly plausible they would be transported into another ‘place’ and lose them all anyway.
It… doesn’t work though XD
Unorganized Notes:
Ratonhnhaké:ton pet vulture is also used to scout ahead. Ratonhnhaké:ton doesn’t connect with it like the Layla trilogy MCs though but it has been trained to make certain sounds that correspond to what it sees (for example, it makes a different sound when it’s safe compared to when there are predators in the area).
Ezio was the one who gifted Desmond the Jerboa because he thought it was cute. They later found out it could detect the weather. XD
Desmond tamed a Deathworm because of Altaïr’s Titanoboa. Altaïr doesn’t get the logic behind it but he’s more interested in the fact that Desmond seemed to be able to tame the untameable ones. He’s not sure if it’s a Desmond-exclusive skill or he’s just really good at making/finding glitches.
The Phoenix is the most prima donna tame they’ve ever gotten. Doesn’t want to work, just wants to perch on the special perch made for it. At some point, Desmond begins to joke that he’s not the master of the Phoenix but the Phoenix is the master. The Phoenix just stares at him as if to say “duh”.
Altaïr keeps the jug bugs in a cage and takes care of them for the materials they give. They’re not exactly tames, more like… wild livestock if that’s even possible?
His Thyla patrols the base frequently to make sure everything is working as it should. The Thyla’s name is Tazim.
Ezio’s Morellatops is his main companion when he’s out searching for resources. It doesn’t usually attack as it’s main jobs are to find resources (like berries) and to act as pack mule.

Note
Their first encounter with a leedle had them staring at it for a few seconds before Ezio suggested they try to sail past it.
Altaïr dryly asked what else were they going to do? Poke it?
A few hours later when they have a relatively safe place to stay for the day and they went their own merrily way, Desmond gets respawned while he was just checking the nearby forest for supplies. He immediately zero'ed in on Altaïr who had respawned next to him and asked...
"You poked it, didn't you?"
As for caves, by that time, they should already be used to seeing weird stuff they have no idea about but it would be Ratonhnhaké:ton who suggested they try making camp in a cave for once and Desmond agrees because it might have a clue in the whole "Isu bs happens in caves sometimes". A few minutes after they go inside a cave, they all running out because holy shit those are really big bugs!
Desmond tells them they should make some kind of bug spray or something but he doesn't know how they work so Altaïr and Ezio improvised and just made smoke bombs.
... they didn't exactly help.
Any idea's on a plot where Desmond, Altair, Ezio, and Connor all end up in 'Ark Survival Evolved'? How well would they survive? Would they tame any dino's? Which one's? Will there be romantic relationships? Where would they live? (Feel free to ignore if you don't know anything about ark)
For those unfamiliar with Ark Survival Evolved, the idea is you spawn on the Island populated by dinosaurs and other creatures. For this case, I will only be focusing on the base game and not include any DLCs in this answer. (Although I am very tempted to include Fjordhawk just because of the ‘eagle’ motif… even if it’s meant to be a hawk)
Let’s set it up first.
Our plot will start with all four of them waking up on the Island with no idea how they got there. Every single one of them remembers their life up to the day they die and we’ll be kind and have their body be in their mid-20s (to be more exact, their 25-year-old body, the age Desmond dies) with their Assassin robes (or white hoodie and jeans on Desmond’s case) but no gear but their hidden blade. (but only 1 hidden blade, even Ezio AND no hidden gun as well)
… Or we could totally let them get there naked with nothing, not even a hidden blade, sure.
Now, in this scenario, they would have enough experience to know they’re better off together than doing everything on their own.
They start exploring the island and “holy fucking shit there are dinosaurs there, what the fuck, what do you mean you don’t know what dinosaurs are? Those are dinosaurs!”
So they try to find a safe(ish) place for Desmond to explain what he knows about dinosaurs and they take a break near a stream perhaps. One of them takes off their hidden blade and I would be leaning on this being Ezio because he wants to show his hidden blade to Altaïr to ask if it would be possible for him to recreate the hidden gun in this place when he realized that he has some kind of metallic-like gem with the telltale white glowing lines of an Isu artefact on his arm and everyone checks their left arm and finds they have the same thing.
They start poking around with Desmond being the one dumb enough to actually poke it directly and they find out that they can access an inventory through it, craft things, a screen that shows their level, and unlockable crafting recipes that are called engrams. From their own, it’s by trial and error that they find out that they gain level doing lots of different things.
Their main immediate concern now is to create a shelter before night falls.
From there… well, they’ll definitely try to find out where the hell they were and what were they there in the first place.
PLOT POINTS:
They will definitely die. Multiple times. And just to fuck with them even more, any time one of them dies, everybody dies. No exception. XD Oh! And when they spawn, they have to get back their stuff from their corpses which is always unpleasant and they always spawn on their current ‘base’ as if the metal jewel in their arm knows where to spawn them even if they changed base.
Their engram is a bit different as it seemed to be a strange list of what technology they all know from their time period with the last engrams they can unlock being more in-line with Isu tech. Desmond’s time period’s tech is the second to the last engrams they can unlock.
Ratonhnhaké:ton is their primary hunter and he will teach everyone what he knows. Even some tricks he later learns, long after Desmond stopped watching his memories. When they’re finally setting up their primary base, he’s the one who set up their dino-defenses.
Altaïr is more or less in charge of the forging and crafting of really complicated things. He focused on things that could help them first like weapons and things that would fortify their base.
Ezio is more of the tamer. He’s the one who likes to tame dinosaurs and, dear god, he managed to create a farm of all things. It’s… honestly impressive. He was vetoed from making a vineyard though.
Desmond bounces to whoever needs him most. He mostly acts as their assistant and sometimes, especially in Altaïr’s case, he reminds them that they need to take a break.
All of them had a hand in planning their base but Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton are more on the utility and defenses while Ezio likes to add things just to make it ‘pleasing to the eye’. Desmond usually gets the final vote for some reason even when Altaïr and Ratonhnhaké:ton teaming up should mean that it’s 2 against 1.
Sure, there’s a plot. But let’s be honest… most of us play this kind of games to make bases and ride dinosaurs. If there’s a plot, it will be summarized as either “Isu Bullshit” OR “Abstergo/Rebecca fucked up and created a virtual world for Sample 17’s data”. Take your pick.
Location of their Base:
Ngl, I wanna give them a raft base because that’s one of the safest (sorta) options in Ark Survival Evolved or maybe they can create their base in the Hidden Lake or Herbivore Island as those two are safe bets.
BUT I personally believe they’ll all think that a high vantage point will be their best bet and would go for mountainous areas they can fortify. Also, they would want to be near the center of the island.
Which leaves: The Red Peaks. It has a forest underneath the mountain where they could lose any predators chasing them, lessening the chance of them accidentally bringing a predator to their base.
The idea is that they will end up with a fortress on the top of the mountain similar to Masyaf with an irrigation system connected to the nearest water supply up north.
Altaïr is absolutely fascinated with the idea of electricity.
Dinosaurs:
There is one dinosaur that they will definitely tame: the Argy (Argentavis). They weren’t even planning on creating an aviary for them or even taming them. There were a lot of Argys in the Red Peak and it was either they tame them or they kill of them to secure the location. They decided to just tame them and hope for the best. They definitely lucked out as anyone who plays Ark will tell them that Argys are one of the best (debatable the best) dinosaurs to tame and have multiple specialized dinosaurs.
Desmond insists that they need a T-Rex. Unfortunately, they don’t know what a T-Rex looks like and Desmond isn’t really into dinosaurs so he made a mistake. They tamed a Carnotaurus named Rex.
They never let Desmond forget it and they gave him a T Rex as a gift. The name of Desmond's T Rex is Cars.
Ezio has a Dodo farm. Desmond is just happy they have eggs. Ezio keeps telling him not to name the dodos just in case they need emergency meat. Desmond still names them. In Desmond’s defense, he named them after Templars he knows. Ezio hates the Dodo named Cesare the most… because it gives the best eggs.
Ratonhnhaké:ton has a squad of Raptors that go hunting with him. No jokes are made about that dinosaur film with a similar premise because Desmond is dead before that movie was released.
Altaïr doesn’t really tame dinosaurs as he’s busy making new things for them to use. His idea of taking a break is checking the tamed dinosaurs on their base and sketching them, most of the time writing observations of their habits and appearance. Desmond suggested they get him a cat as a pet… the only cat they could find nearby was a Sabertooth. They still gave it to Altaïr anyway.
Romance:
… It’s me, nonny. If there’s gonna be any romance in this plot, you know it’s gonna be AltDes or an entire harem for Desmond. XD

If we’re talking about aquatic tameable monsters, you know Desmond is gonna try and tame 4 Carbonemys just to name them Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo, and Michaelangelo then put specific colored fabric on them to differentiate them.
Ezio would be weirded out by it but, at the same time, he’d be the one spoiling Leonardo the Carbonemys, that’s for sure.
Let’s give Ratonhnhaké:ton an Electrophorus ‘cause they could help him when he’s soloing somewhere with his own raft (yeah, Ratonhnhaké:ton has his own raft, dude can solo this entire Ark if he wanted to XD) and its size means it can accompany Ratonhnhaké:ton in rivers.
We can also give them a Coelacanth farm so they can have fish meat? XD
And you know, you just know, someone (most probably Desmond or Altaïr) have touched a Cnidaria before just to see what they feel like.
Submitted by @saberamane
For the Ark Survival Evolved AU, the guys and their tame’s I personally think fit them, pokemon style. Meaning they have 6 ‘fighter’ tames, plus a shoulder pet. And post 1 is going to be The Island specific tames. (So no wyvern, shadowmane, glow pets etc. Also, I’m going to make it a running gag that Desmond tames things he shouldn’t be able to, because he is the ‘chosen one’.)
They all have an Argy (Argentavis) as their main flyer tame for travel.
Desmond:
Carnotaurus (named Rex)
T-Rex (named Cars)
Yutyrannus
Unicorn
Liopleurodon
Accidental Dragon Boss Tame
Giga (Desmond is special and gets an extra tame)
Shoulder Pet- Microraptor (Desmond tamed it out of spite after it got him killed several times as he tried to travel the redwoods. Desmond has a love-hate relationship with it.)
Altair:
1 Sabertooth (unknown gender, but named Malik because the cat is a bit of an asshole, as all cats are. Likes to nap.)
1Troodon (Named Nips by Desmond, because it likes to bite.)
Purlovia
Megalania
Thylacoleo
Megalosaurus
Shoulder Pet- Ichthyornis(It flies, and steals…)
Ezio:
Dodo Farm (Various, Cesare gives the best eggs though)
Ovis Herd
Hyaenodon (As a pet)
Equus
Therizinosaur
Spino
Shoulder Pet- Pegomastax (Because they steal. And Ezio is very good at pick-pocketing.)
Ratonhnhaké:ton:
Raptor Pack
Dire wolf Pack
Dire Bear
Allosaurus Pack
Baryonyx
Megatherium
Shoulder Pet- Otter (He does a lot of solo cave runs, so having an otter would be very useful for him.)
============================================
Additions from teecup:
The Ark Survival Evolved AU idea (this one and this one too)
Desmond
Desmond likes to take Rex, Cars and Yuty (which may or may not be the Yutyrannus’ name) for walks around their main base which served as his idea of patrolling.
Desmond being the only one to tame a unicorn, of course, causes a lot of teasing of him being of pure heart since the first time they (at least, Ezio) tried to tease him of being of pure body, Desmond listed the many, many, many ways why he doesn’t have a pure body.
Desmond’s dragon has its own cave underneath their base and Desmond spent months making sure it’s a ‘bonafide’ dragon lair. Their metal and most resources are stored there as the dragon’s hoard but they can get it any time they want because the dragon isn’t actually programmed to be protective of its hoard anyway.
His Microraptor likes getting in the front lines a lot, pecking hostiles then running straight for Desmond who also has to run away because the hostile’s aggro is on him, not on the Microraptor clinging to his hoodie.
Altaïr
Desmond believes Altaïr’s Sabertooth is a female just because he thinks it would be funny. No one bothers to check the Sabertooth’s gender though.
His Troodon acts as his second in command and seemed to be able to understand more complex instructions than the rest. The Troodon also coordinates with his other tames and Desmond sometimes feels like he’s competing with the Troodon for the spot of Altaïr’s assistant.
All his tames tend to keep to themselves and hides a lot, only coming out when Altaïr calls for them. The only tames who show themselves to the others regularly are the Troodon, the Sabertooth and Megalosaurus. Most of the time, they’d get a jumpscare because one of Altaïr’s tames was on the ceiling or burrowed in an empty spot in the garden.
The Megalosaurus is usually seen in the middle of the base sleeping during the day and is usually one of the ones being used for nightly patrols
He tamed the Ichthyornis because everyone hated them for trying to steal their items and eating their food whenever they were nearby but Altaïr realizes that their stealing capabilities could be useful. Most of the time, his Ichthyornis flies around and is used by Altaïr to steal materials it can carry without them getting near dangerous areas.
Ezio:
Some other Dodos in the Farm include Haytham (Ratonhnhaké:ton just shrugs) and Rashid. There’s more but they remember Haytham because Desmond made him a tacohat for some reason and Rashid always has a black fabric tied around its neck similar to a farmer’s head scarf. Nobody understands why Desmond did it but they’re leading theory is Desmond was bored.
Shearing his Ovis Herd is relaxing for Ezio (even though they can sometimes be heavy). Desmond also sometimes joins him in shearing.
Nobody knows how but Ezio managed to make his Hyaenodon act like a sheep dog for his herds. It’s… quite frankly impressive.
They also built a stable for his Equus and Desmond’s Unicorn and they sometimes go horseriding together.
Therizinosaur and Spino usually guard Dodo Farm, the Ovis Herd and the stables. Although when Ezio is feeling adventurous, they get to go with him (while Desmond takes over Farm/Herd duties)
His Pegomastax has very sticky fingers. Unlike Altaïr’s Ichthyornis, his Pegomastax will steal anything it thinks Ezio would like which is both adorable for Ezio and annoying for the person it stole it from. Especially Desmond who gets to be the target… a lot. (I wonder why)
Ratonhnhaké:ton
He usually doesn’t use all of his packs at once, mostly picking one pack that he believes will be suitable for the terrain and the place he would be going to.
Most of the time, he leaves the other packs at the base and they only let Desmond come near them. Ezio and Altaïr usually gets roared or growled at. Sometimes, bitten. Because of this, Desmond usually takes care of them and takes them out for ‘walks’.
Baryonyx is usually his go-to mount and Dire Bear is usually more used when he’s going somewhere cold.
Megatherium and Otter always join him during cave runs and most of the time, he takes all his packs when he’s going out for long periods of time (like cave runs) just to be sure.
All of their (mainly) aquatic based tames are in a separate base by the river near the Northeast shores. Ratonhnhaké:ton and Desmond are usually the ones checking on that base.
(I kinda like the idea that they keep their tames out, just doing whatever the hell they liked (within reasons) because Ratonhnhaké:ton wants them to be free… ish)

It doesn’t help that no one was there when Desmond and the Reaper Queen had their match. He was outside on his own with only his Bulbdog and Carno (this is before he got this Seeker) and neither of them could stand witness to how Desmond had started sneezing when the pink ‘glow’ thing happened.
None of them would be judgemental, sure, but Ezio would be the only one who would state out loud “I get it” but also Reaper Queen would not be his first choice. Desmond had to listen as Ezio list the ones he’d even consider and Desmond is starting to think if Ezio should now count as a monster fucker or not yet (no, he does not count as a monster fucker, damn it!) while Ratonhnhaké:ton is still stuck in the images his mind was providing on how Desmond could have been impregnated while Altaïr is already researching if anything else (anybody else) could impregnate Desmond.
Needless to say, everyone treats Desmond’s Reaper more like a child even after it had grown to its full size XD
Yeeessss. It’s a double-edged sword since Desmond’s ‘light source’ can’t be turned off and the wild Seekers that go after him aren’t as friendly as his own Seeker. Hell, his Seeker hates them all and tries to kill them before they can even come close for Desmond to try and tranq them. His Seeker wants to be the only Seeker Desmond would ever had since he didn’t show the same ‘territorial bullshit’ with the other beasts/monsters that come into contact with them.
Yeessss. Ezio wants his own shinehorn but his featherlight always coo sadly whenever Ezio tries to tame another shinehorn. (Oh man, yes, Ezio would probably try to keep one of his featherlight’s feathers with him at all times in hopes he can keep it even if they changed Arks).
The Karkinos would usually keep watch of them whenever they clear predators nearby and everyone believes it’s to make sure everyone is safe but naaahh, all the tames know that the Karkinos is like “I’m watching you children. Take one wrong step and I’ll take you down.” and all three of them are just like “yeah, sure, old man.”
=========================
Additions by teecup:
The Ark Survival Evolved AU idea (this one and this one too)
Tames for The Island Ark
Tames for the Scorched Earth Ark

Note
I’m kinda thinking that they would be worried if Desmond disappeared for days regardless if they can spawn right back into the base so, to make them think ‘eh, he’s fine’… we can make this nothing strange. Maybe Desmond has the habit of leaving for days or perhaps they have another smaller base on the other side of the island and Desmond usually checks up on it. Maybe he’s in charge of developing into their backup base, you know, just in case.
So they didn’t think anything is amiss when Desmond doesn’t return for a few days. Maybe he even told them that he’d be gone for a few days, maybe he’d be foraging near the smaller base and return with his haul after a few days.
So when Desmond arrives with his glitched-tamed dragon, their first thought is “oh shit, he was in trouble!” then “oh shit, it’s a motherfucking dragon.”
Sooooo… whenever a glitch or a bug happens, the usual QA protocol is to try to recreate the bug/glitch using the same steps, mostly because re-creatable bugs are given priority (especially bugs that happen often, bugs that only happen 1 every 10 times is kinda low in the priority) and the steps could be used to pinpoint the exact part where the bug originates from or that triggers it.
Now… the idea of Desmond getting a tamed dragon via glitch will definitely ping everyone’s interest because:
Can they get their own glitched/tamed dragon as well?
Cue all four of them trying to recreate Desmond’s steps to try and glitch through the boss battle and tame their own dragon (Also, another curious question: since Desmond glitched through the encounter, does that mean that it’s not technically complete? Have they found an infinite spawning and taming method for dragons???).
XD
