arin took a deep breath, dialing christel.

she deserved an explanation for the stupid thing they were about to try.

they inhaled sharply as the line went to voicemail, sighed, and turned their phone off. it was time.

they laid down in their salt circle, surrounded by candles and obsidian crystals. the outline of the bones superimposed on their scar began to glow a deep teal as they closed their eyes and crossed their hands over their chest.

with that, they sat up in their ghostly form, trying to orient themself.
