Favourite Royal Baby Names

George Alexander Louis - the flow, the power, this name is everything. I actually hate the name Louis so it’s a mark of how good this name is that it’s ranked here. As much as I would have loved a Prince Alexander, this combination of names is flawless Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary - I will accept nothing less than four names for a royal baby. Normal people have two names, some people have three names, what is the point of being royal if you’re not going to give your children an excessive amount of names? Estelle is one of my favourite names, I love the use of Ewa. The S in Silvia creates a lovely flow and the nod to Mary kills me Leonore Lilian Maria - this is it. My favourite royal name of all time. It’s perfect. Fun fact, Adrienne’s name would also be here if it went Adrienne Alice Josephine, rather than Adrienne Josephine Alice Eléonore Fabiola Victoria Anne Marie - again, one of those names that just works. The nod to Fabiola is adorable. Eleanore works better than Leonore here and looks better that Eleanor. It’s a very regal name for a fourth child but I’m here for that Amalia Gabriela Maria Teresa - there are so many -a names here and I love it. It only just works and it only works because of all the a’s but it sounds great. Amalia is a great name and taking the Luxembourg Marie tradition but using Maria for Maria Teresa is super sweet Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda - my favourite Danish name. The ‘ph’ sound in Josephine Sophia gives it a good flow. Ivalo is my favourite Greenlandic name of the Danish kids and Mary finally gave us a Mathilda

Special Mention to the Big Kids

Eugenie Victoria Helena - my second favourite royal name. Everything about it flows well and shout out to Sarah for using some less common royal names. It almost makes me like the name Helena Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée - I love the name Désirée. Vikkan’s name starts hard with the ‘ct’ in Victoria straight into the ‘ing’ from Ingrid and ends soft with Alice and Désirée. This name is also just super pretty to look at Madeleine Thérèse Amelie Josephine - this name only works in a Swedish accent. MadelIN doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as MadelEINE. Bookending this name with Madeleine and Josephine was a great choice and Thérèse Amelie flows in either order Gabriella Maria Pilar Yolande Joséphine Charlotte - this is what I’m talking about. SIX NAMES. This name is just structured well. Gabriella goes well with Maria and Maria goes well with Pilar but Gabriella and Pilar doesn’t quite work. There is no other order all of these names could go in and sound good Alexandra Joséphine Teresa Charlotte Marie Wilhelmine - the only change I would make here would be to go from Alexandra Joséphine Teresa to  Alexandra Teresa Joséphine. But who really cares when a name is this packed with symbolism?

Least Favourite Royal Baby Names

ALL THE SPANISH NAMES - Felipe Juan Froilán/Victoria Federica/Juan Valentín/Pablo Nicolás Sebastián/Leonor/Sofia - as names, these aren’t bad. I actually like the flow of Victoria Frederica and Felipe Juan Froilán (I really love Felipe Juan Froilán) BUT WHAT IS WITH THE ONE NAME THING. I will never forgive Felipe and Leti for giving the future Queen of Spain one given name Louis Arthur Charles -  I hate it. I hate the flow. Arthur Louis Charles was right there. Even Arthur Charles Louis. But no, Will and Kate hate me and made me have to suffer this name for the cutest baby in existence. I do love the nod to Charles though Archie Harrison - the name Archie is one of my favourite names so it’s a mark of how much I hate Harrison that it’s here. A - it’s two names. We know my thoughts on that. B - Harrison just sounds like a joke name. I thought it was a joke. Harry’s son Harrison. Nope Oscar Carl Olof - TOO MANY ‘CK’ SOUNDS. Carl Oscar Olof is better. Oscar Olof Carl is much better. Carl Olof Oscar is way better. There are too many ‘o’s and ‘c’s and I’m not a fan Gabriel Michael Louis Ronny - none of these names go together and this is a better name than his brother’s by far Ariane Wilhelmina Máxima Inés - I feel bad for putting this in here but I think the order is off. Ariane Máxima Inés Wilhelmina sounds so much better. I think this is a problem for all of Wax and Max’s kids tbh Noah Etienne Guillaume Gabriel Matthias Xavier - the only problem with my belief that more names is better. I actually like how a lot of these names sound together but not enough to save it. It feels like Tessy and Louis had a bunch of left over names that they liked and they just threw them all in here
