we are too obsessed with romanticizing terrible men and awful behaviors and it is devastating how many fanfics i have read that should not have, realistically, had a happy ending. i get that some people are into different things, but why are we into being kidnapped? abused, emotionally and physically? insulted beyond more than basic degradation? why are we so obsessed with being mistreated?

i swear, the inability to find fics (especially x reader fics) where the mc is ACTUALLY loved and treated right is enough motivation to get me back into writing…

TW// Omori Discussion, Knife Ending, S*icide

Okay I know I’m all over when it comes to fandoms on this account, but I’m in most corners of fandoms on the internet to be fair, and today, we’re talking about Omori.

Like I know there are all of the memes and a lot of focusing on the happier things, pretending that Mari is still alive because we, as a society, do not like the canon of any media piece, but real talk? We all highkey know this game is absolutely f*cked up most of the time.

Do yall know what the Knife Ending is? In short, and of course this entire post is a spoiler for those who haven’t played/watched the game yet, but it basically happens(potentially) at the end of the Omori route(bad ending route). Where, on the final night before you move, you have an option to go back to sleep, to enter headspace one last time and be with the friends you failed in the real world, to be with Basil. You can do that, or, if you look in your inventory, you realize that you still have the knife from a few days ago, because Kel was never there to take it away.

Usually, using this knife in white space will result in being sent to Headspace. However, in real life, I think you and I both know what happens. I won’t say it directly, but this is one of the most powerful endings in this game in my opinion, outside of the Sunny route.

To make matters worse, nothing hints you towards this ending, there’s nothing in the gameplay that had even implied that this was an ending. Which leaves the implication open that the creator(absolute geniuses) knew that at this point on the path to the bad ending, we’ve been beaten down rough emotionally, that we would look for any option that wasn’t accepting that we kind of f*cked up, and that says more than anything else ever could.

Honestly this post was both blessing and cursing Omori because damn the emotions were too strong, coming to terms with my emotions because I was, in fact one of the people who got this ending, and finally, asking you, anyone else who got this ending intentionally or not, are you alright, babes? Do we need hugs?
