When you talk about finding a place to sleep for a very long time do you mean that we're still able to sleep on the astral? How do we do? And what is it like considering that the astral is ALREADY the dream plane...?
First, when I say “finding a place to sleep” I mean that in any figurative and literal way possible. It means something along the lines of “not be conscious of where you are, who you are, or what is going on.” That can mean sleep as we do here on earth, or it can mean something else. It’s more metaphorical than literal.
That being said, regarding sleep on the astral, my experience has been “it depends.” Certain entities seem to need sleep, others don’t. I have a menz that didn’t sleep for the first few years I knew him, but after a particularly grueling situation that dragged out over the better part of a year, he legit laid down and slept for the better part of 3 months. I assume that means that under normal circumstances he doesn’t need sleep, but perhaps for certain situations he might. I think it highlights that sleep can have different applications to different beings.
Humans are beings with bodies that require sleep. There are other beings out there whose forms may not require sleep. So it really depends on the specifics.
I also don’t consider there to be a line btwn us and astral, not really. Usually when I’m saying “astral” with other people, I’m using it to mean “things that we humans can not collectively experience or touch”, which is to say the less-physical parts of our existence. However, in my own worldview, the word “astral” is a false separation btwn “us” and everything else when really its more about what we can and can’t perceive. To me, the entire universe is “the astral.” And as such, I don’t really consider anything truly off limits for “the astral.”
For all I know, the places I’ve visited astrally exist somewhere and are just as physical as here and now. I just can’t experience them by physically traveling to them, I have to connect in a non-physical way. Yes, I do realize this could be completely false and I just have a good imagination. That’s part of the catch 22 of doing anything astral related, tho.
I also don’t consider every dream to be “astral” in nature, which is to say that some dreams appear to be nothing but my own mind working through things, where other dreams feel like they have a “I am in a different place” quality to them. So again, there is some grey area there.
But what I’m really trying to say (I think) is that I really don’t see there being any sort of “rule” that just because the “dream plane” is “on the astral” means that nothing else should be able to sleep or dream or what have you. Every other place I’ve been is so similar to here, and yet very different. In the same way that there are many species of beings here on earth, each of which has their own specific needs -- so too with beings on the astral. So many of them are so very similar to us humans, and yet each species is a little bit different.
And I view the whole matter of sleeping to be similar in nature. Some need it, some don’t. Some may only need it under certain circumstances. Some may travel to another place while asleep, some may stay in their own bodies. Some may dream, others may not -- who knows.
When you cast a wide enough net, I personally think there are no rules, and everything is within the realm of possibility.
Hence the old “welcome to the astral, where the rules are made up and the points don’t matter.”
