lately i've been binging a lot of veritasium and kurzgesagt videos and goddamn it feels like i've unlocked a part of me which i haven't visited in ages

studystems -> cryptostems

this is what we call a re-brand! since i’m finishing my master’s degree in just under a month (and therefore will not be studying full-time) it seems a bit pointless to keep the word ‘study’ in my url.

but why crypto? first of all, because what i’ll be doing after my master’s is a mystery. also, throughout my master’s projects i’ve accidentally focused specifically on cryptogams, and i may have fallen in love slightly. 

but what’s gonna happen to this blog? :O well, it’s staying, obviously. just because i’m taking time out from education doesn’t mean i won’t be doing science (i hope!) and i want to keep this here as a sciblr of sorts! also, i’ll still be doing evening and online courses, and will need all that studyspo to keep me from sinking into a pit of post-graduation despair.

but what about a phd??? i’m gonna apply for them! but i also want to take some time out to really consider my options, especially in my current state of health. so the earliest i’d be starting one is next autumn (fingers crossed i even get accepted into a doctoral program.....)
