I wish you’d be a bit more selective about what you reblog into peoples feeds because some of it is actual trash. I know you want people to like you and stay in these little cliques but have some standards? You’re a bit old to be this fake over bad content just to get brownie points. Anyway it’s an unf bye

Hey anon. The great thing about Tumblr is that you can cultivate your own experience of what you see and what you don't see with this nifty little trick of unfollowing a blog.

This option shows on every blog that you have chosen to follow. All you have to do is click Following and it will then unfollow that blog.

If the content is so egregious that you feel the need to send anons, I will suggest the block feature Tumblr has as well.

This will give you the Tumblr experience you want while allowing other blogs to reblog content that they genuinely enjoy!

Do you ever get tired of jumping onto bandwagons all the time and kissing ass

Online and offline, I am definitely the kind of friend who invests, who takes a genuine interest in the things that my kindred spirits think are nifty. Like, I will try anything and everything.

Sometimes I am introduced things that I feel meh about, but can always respect that this is The Thing™ my friend enjoys so I am glad it exists for them, and other times this new thing can consume me like wildfire and they soon learn that I have no general, "Oh, this is nifty," kind of vibe about me. 😂

But that's not the point of this post.

I pity you, truly. It has to be so tiresome to have this kind of negativity so heavily ingrained into your being that you cannot just enjoy Tumblr for all the fandom fodder it has to offer, but instead you just slink in the shadowy anons to just be some cunt with keyboard.

Now, if this is the case that you are just some new monstrosity to Tumblr, please feel free to refer to this post on how to block and unfollow blogs you do not care for.

Ewan Mitchell is so overrated im sick of seeing him all over tumblr.

Hey anon. Respectfully, I disagree.

Ewan girlies have been recycling what little content we had for 13 months straight (shout out to our gif, meme, and moodboard makers for keeping us fed! 💜) so I definitely think we deserve a treat.

If this means new content until our brains implode, so be it (I, for one, am ready for the sweet embrace of death by babygirl posts). However, you have a way to monitor your dashboard content!

You can always unfollow blogs or just go to your Blog Settings -> Account (The essentials) -> and scroll to Content you see to filter out tags.

This will allow you to hide it all away until he returns to Derby (which, again, I hope is never 🥰).

Just a note

I saw this wonderful post and decided I am turning my anon off right now. The hate is not worth it, I need to clear my mind of it.

Just a note

My dev brain had been brainstorming non-stop to present a better method than the auto-algorithm Tumblr has in place. I hope to submit it to their WIP, which I know will be answered with a generic response, but I have to try. 

With the research I have done, apparently its purpose was to stop nudity from being posted like the good ol’ Tumblr days but instead this feature it being weaponized against creators. 

My blog is 18+, MDNI and I will be labelling my stories accordingly. If you follow me and like what I write, I encourage you to take the steps to ensure I will still come across your dashboard. ♥ 

Included below is how to set it up on both mobile and desktop.

For mobile, you willing click the setting cog icon and then Account Settings. 

With the new menu option, you will go to Content you see.

From there, select > and choose what you would and would not like to see on your dashboard. 

For desktop, it is easy enough. Just scroll until you see the option. Make sure to mark the Hide additional potentially mature content that still will hinder posts on mobile, despite going through the steps above.

I just saw your reblog and you mentioned the new tagging situation, can I ask what happened? I really didn't noticed that

Hello my darling anon!

First off, I love dorking out about this kind of thing, so thank you for asking.

Currently Tumblr is having an issue with consecutively tagging 5+ blogs in a row. The first 5 will get the notification, the ones following will not. When you look back on the post, you will see the blog names without the underline, indicating the hyperlink did not attach and the notification was never sent to them.

The current work around for this is to tag 5 blogs, hit enter, tag another 5, and so on.

It is irksome, it makes tag list look weird, and it is so irksome. My guess is that it was missed during the QA for their new features (as I am sure we are noticing the Create Your Community thing going on) and it is probably a silly hiccup in that update.

I am not sure if it affects the app, as I mostly use desktop.

Okay's etymology begins in the 1600s, stemming from Scottish "och aye" and Irish "ough aye" that translates to a literal "oh yes." It was more utilized after an article that was published in the 1800s as an acronym for "oll korrect" and has since grown in popularity.

I definitely understand having if you have trigger words (I myself have a laundry list) but instead of sending anons, I usually just unfollow:

Tumblr desktop is having technical difficulties and now I am forced to use the app.
