Venti at Khaenri'ah Cataclysm

Ever since seeing Hamelin's new animation, I've been in a Venti mood for DAYS. Soooooo... I had to draw him. In all his godhood glory. :D

He's my favorite archon, okay? Sorry, Focalors/Furina, you're a close second.

God damnit. God fucking. This is a metaphor for Teyvat and otherworldly knowledge/the abyss, isn't it? Innocence giving way to greed, which could be described as a form of ambition, and wording that may imply the world will be consumed by it.

With an additional link between the colour gold and innocence, which is interesting considering that's associated with Celestia- and potentially Aether and Lumine as well.

After getting over the initial hype, what really struck me about Venti after playing through the Prologue and watching recordings of past events was how gosh darn loving he is to EVERYONE in Mondstadt. Though he may be a saucy boy sometimes, to some more than others, it's all good-natured, and I don't think I've ever seen him say anything explicitly malicious about any of his "children."

This includes the stranger members of Mondstadt's society, who l've chosen to split into three groups: the adopted, the outcasts, and the prodigals or ex-prodigals. I settled for adding two of each group here.

The adopted include Mona, originally from Fontaine, and Kaeya, originally from Khaenri'ah.

The outcasts include Eula, the Lawrence descendant, and Razor, the wolf boy.

The prodigals and ex-prodigals include Rosaria, the wayward nun, and Diluc, the vigilante who abandoned Mondstadt for years before finally returning home.

They all have different stories, but at their cores they are all the same: children of Mondstadt.

The Freedom of the wind

Got carried away with an sketch for a crossover for Genshin Impact x Sonic and I ended up with an... Interesting idea?

I mean, probably someone already did something similar, but many Sonic characters would fit the archons perfectly.

And Obviously the Anemo one would fit our blue hero like a ring, I mean it represents the freedom and just like Venti I'm sure that Sonic would be more comfortable being a local bard than lead the whole nation.

Ya know, the little guy who loves going around the whole nation, singing for chilidogs or something, sleeping under the stars and maybe if he cross your way you'll feel a little breeze too. The very same guy who is always from one place to another, fast as the wind.

Also, in this idea, they wield Chaos emeralds instead of Gnosis to get the title of archon, and Sonic possess the cyan one!!

Boss Venti phase 1 ref

Eye of the Storm Illustration

So I decided to update the concept design for this and made it a bit more cohesive. The idea was to have some sort of restrictive elements be more visible to contrast the more chaotic concept of the boss fight

I also tried showing more visible consequences on his body with how his form itself gets slowly stripped along with the corruption and would get worse on the 2nd phase of the fight where he'd be at his most vulnerable. The idea was kinda inspired by what happens to Kiana while trying to shut off a bomb during the animated short Meteoric Salvation in HI3

The two "shells" surrounding him were also softened a bit and made to look like they'd fit together now and matches the overall color palette. Tried to make them look more like hands that would be able to hide him

You can see that I also added the long strip of cloth he has in a couple versions of his archon outfit. I took the idea from an OC of mine designed after typhoons where the trailing end resembles a small cyclone and also just wanted to incorporate some parts of the scrapped Ideas from the old design

And finally, I've changed the top to have the Anemo symbol and made it look like it's grabbing his chest and the smaller one on the collar look like a hand wrapped around his throat. I wanted something in the design to connect with the boss fight's concept where his own element ends up harming him as it tries to get rid of the taint he got. Kinda like how someone's immune system ends up working to their detriment while trying to get rid of something
