hi! im gillipop from @gillipopmoji and @gillipop-plus. i figured i might as well make a blog for mcyt emojis because im hyperfixated on both. for info, pronouns are she/her and im autihd.

we're here to archive mcyt emojis! gillipop's a huge fan of both emojis and mcyt, decided to combine them into an archive blog, and then gold joined in. this blog is inspired by @emojifarm, so we function pretty similarly. we'll reblog pretty much any mcyt emoji.

we're not doing any sort of discourse here. yes, some creators are problematic; yes, some artists are problematic; yes, some other things are problematic; no, we don't care here. everything deserves to be archived and accessible, including the controversial stuff. everyone is welcome here as long as you don't make your opinions our problem. if you have a problem with any of that, don't come to us about it, and leave.

our queue posts once an hour, but isn't always full. if you know of any emojis we haven't reblogged yet, feel free to send them to us in our asks or @ us! we'll tag our posts with #archive://gillipop or #archive://sgos depending on who posts what, we'll tag creators with #creator: url, and the rest of the tagging system is fairly broad, so your best bet might be to just look through our reblogs and check for patterns.

don't claim my emojis as yours. unless specified otherwise, you don't have to ask permission to use my emotes. also, i shouldn't have to say it, but no using what i make to train or prompt AI.

"do you need credit?" credit please! i think credit and sourcing is important, regardless of what it is. archival is important, and crediting is a big part of that (i've seen people do it in emoji names—no need for that, just in the server is fine, but if you'd like to, you can use "sgos" as shorthand)

"can i edit these?" small edits are okay, such as recolors, changing small details that annoy you, stuff like that - other edits, go ahead for private use in your own private servers (as in, emotes only you can use, but you can use them anywhere), but ask to post or share

"what's your opinion on [discourse topic]?" i literally do not care. i mean, i might have an opinion, but i do not care to answer you. because if you're asking that, someone's going to have a problem with my answer, and this community focuses too much on discourse already. so. i do not care, and sort out your priorities.

i'm not trying to be rude at all

but it feels sort of strange to me that you're a /mcyt/ emoji archive and you'll reblog emojis that are of cc!ranboo since they don't really want to be considered an mcyt

the reblogging of gl!ranboo emojis is also weird because generation loss isn't a minecraft project at all

(this is just about those two though, and tbh mostly the genloss one, it totally makes sense for you to reblog c!ranboo emotes)

good points, thanks for bringing this up! we definitely agree with all of that, but i can still think of some reasons to continue reblogging emojis that aren't strictly mcyt, and we're a bit stuck because of that

my thought is that people could still want emotes of someone, even if the specific emote isn't strictly mcyt related. there's been plenty like that already, for example—mostly ones of people mainly considered mcyt, yeah, but the emotes themselves aren't strictly mcyt related for a good chunk of the stuff we've reblogged. for those it's usually specifically the content creator, or it's unspecified

so even if someone isn't mainly considered an mcyt, i think it at least makes sense to reblog emojis of the content creators themselves. like, if we were to find a jaiden animations emoji that isn't qsmp/mcyt specific, or before qsmp entirely, we'd probably still reblog it. i wouldn't say jaiden's primarily an mcyt, i'd say she's primarily an artist and animator, but we'd still reblog emotes of her that aren't specifically mcyt related

as for genloss, though, and other characters of the content creators outside of minecraft, that does get a bit tricky, yeah. i think it could make sense to reblog it because it's connected to the content creator, who's connected to mcyt, but it also could make sense to not reblog it seeing as the source material in question itself isn't mcyt related.

so, we haven't gotten to a conclusion yet. anyone have any thoughts?
