Standing outside (walking the dog) and looking back at my house. It’s known as the Rodger House (I call it Chez What?). It was designed and built by the architectural firm Levido & Baker in 1958. I fell in love with it’s lines, shape and aesthetic the first time that I saw it. Why the Cost Blowouts on Single Luxury Residential Development

Here is a brilliant article (recently published by Peter Clarke the president of the institute of Australian Quantity Surveyors) talking about cost blowouts with single resident dwellings of $500,000 and above and the need for accurate feasibility and cost analysis pre-construction.  

Peter states that the number 1. risk that owners face without a structured process being put in place providing the ‘checks and balances’ to the design as it is developed is that ‘the client’s expectations do not match the budget’
