Skrael was not entirely sure how he’d ended up here. ...Wherever here was. It looked like someone’s steampunk mansion, except there was no furniture in sight. It was just... a circular room, all orange and glowing wall panels, and a literal giant gear set partially into the floor, which almost looked like it actually functioned.

He tried to run down the list of people he knew who were simultaneously able to afford something like this, and had an affiliation for the steampunk aesthetic, but absolutely no one came to mind. Unless someone was hiding a secret obsession for the genre, but something in him said that that wasn’t quite plausible. The amount of effort that went into something like this would beget a taste that was not-so-secret.

This meant, then, that he was not in the home of someone he knew. 

He frowned. Better approach this with caution, then. He crept toward what looked like the exit of this room, and--

--nearly walked off a precipice that opened up into what looked like a grand hall. Oh. 

...Was he in a castle?

He couldn’t hold back a quiet swear, then, looking around for a way down. The exit to this place was most likely at the end of that grand hall. If he could just find some stairs...
