It's honestly insane that a show like arcane kept turning female characters into plot devices for the sake of others' development
Just shows that we still have a long way to go for women in media, even in progressive narratives

Even if Timebomb is canon I can still dislike it. You don’t have to like something only because it’s canon.

If Vi being pregnant in art or fics is such a big problem because “butch” then I’d hate to see y’alls reactions to irl butch lesbians…who don’t conform to heteronormative constructs (because that’s what a lot of these “takes” are perpetuating). Vi being pregnant takes NOTHING away from her masculinity or supposed “butchness.”
I truly believe this fandom forgets that there are no gender identity issues or pressures in this universe. They do not strictly label these characters as anything because of how they want to subvert popular tropes and ideas especially in regard to gender and sexuality.
There’s a difference between having an opinion on whether or not you believe she’d carry, versus acting as if you speak for an entire community on the subject. You are not Vi, therefore you are only able to make assumptions about her as a fictional character.
Acting as if these characters deal with the same societal expectations and issues that we deal with in reality is deliberately ignoring what Riot set out to do in many ways. Look at the Kiramman house and its legacy, its long line of Matriarchs. Look at Ambessa, a strong and capable warlord (a leader of an entire nation), who is portrayed as very feminine and maternal. And think about Vi herself, a girl who has always been put into a maternal position taking care of her family. She was more than an older sister to her siblings and community, but she took the place of their mother as well. It is something she is deeply comfortable with and not entirely by choice.
Ultimately, what I mean to say with this post is that Vi being pregnant is not an attack on anyone regardless of identity or opinion. It is not unbelievable or impossible, and to be quite frank is understandable with her character and the way she’s lived for majority of her childhood into adulthood. Once again, you can have personal headcanons (no one is denying you that right), but that’s what it is. A headcanon. For all we know Vi may jump for joy at the opportunity to have her own children, and it’s okay if she doesn’t. But stop this senseless attack on people who just see differently than you. Who have different opinions, headcanons, ideas, and concepts. Stay in your lane and enjoy what you want while others do the same!

“Out of Character”
Hmm. Okay, this may be considered a hot take, please be nice.
I think, when someone is consuming media and they say “this character would not do that” or “why did they behave so out of character,” this is the wrong pattern of thinking.
If something is canon in fiction, then I don’t think that any part of the story is meant to be treated as an outlier or exception or that it “doesn’t count.” It *does* count if it’s part of the canon.
So instead of thinking “they behaved out of character,” you should analyze it again and include that part as being *in* character. The character *does* act like that. It *is* in character. You, maybe, just didn’t like their choices. That’s okay, too. But it’s incorrect to say they behaved “out of character” if that’s how the character was written to behave.
Also, you can consider that no one is totally stagnant all the time. People change, characters evolve.
I behave differently now compared to even just a few years ago, but I wouldn’t say I’m acting out of character. I’ve just changed a bit in response to events and time passing.

i honestly don't get how some of you hate Isha, not trying to be rude, but I just don't get it
I literally sobbed for 30 minutes after the end of episode 6, the second that i saw her on screen she became one of my favorite characters
the easiest way to make me cry is by playing Isha's song
once again, no offense to people who think she wasn't good for the show, but I don't get it

I made more Arcane fan art. And a quick disclaimer I don't like szn 2 Caitvi. Like I feel their dynamic was written by a white person who is friends with their less privileged friends to piss off their bigoted parents as a form of rebellion. So this fanart will reflect my ideas on their dynamic. So, uhm, diehard ignorant caitvi defenders, this is your chance to leave.
BOO CAITVI BOOO 👎🏾👎🏾

i didn't expect them to resolve the zaun/piltover conflict. hell, i don't even think that's what i would've wanted for the story. but the way that it was almost entirely sidelined for the "arcane magic and noxus" storyline just does not sit right with me.
sevika's lack of appearances in the last act underlines this perfectly in my opinion, and i'm not just saying this because i like her character. she has been an adamant and consistent representative of the revolution and liberation of zaun - her screentime being reduced to about 3 scenes total + no dialogue speaks volumes. and i'm saying this as someone who thoroughly enjoyed season 2!
The class conflict was the core of the show's worldbuilding in s1; to see it sidelined in s2 act 3 for the "we must all come together to defeat the real bad guy!" plot is disappointing, and frankly, beneath them as a writing choice.
i really hope they revert to putting the same energy as season 1 into future projects.

honestly I don't think anyone is forcing you to like Ekko or timebomb but you shouldn't necessarily try to hate on the ship in itself. as you said people can like and dislike characters. so let them like Ekko as a character himself or even timebomb.
liking jinx is an entirely separate thing, but you also shouldnt completely diss and ruin the ship for your audience and followers.
Lmao why so mad bruh?
First of all I didn’t know you can read my inbox to know if people ‚force‘ me to like the ship.
I am not a damn influencer I do write here just for fun. I don’t have to pretend to like things my followers do just so they like me. I like to write lesbian fanfics because I am one lmao this is a save space for lesbians and women. I don’t care about men or hetero ships 🤷🏻‍♀️
Also I am saying my opinion on this topic one last time because it’s tiring. IN MY OPINION Ekko is a nerdy pussy who is way too soft. He may fit to Powder but not to Jinx, their personalities are not fitting together at all and honestly I dislike how they changed Jinx’s character in season 2.
You can like whatever the fuck you want but please stop annoying me with this ship. I am not talking about the ship existing or people normally shipping it. I am talking about those who want to ruin your own ship bc timebomb is canon and idk what. YOU CAN LITERALLY SHIP JINX WITH FUCKING SQUIDWARD OR SPONGEBOB AND I WOULDNT FUCKING CARE.
Just stop being annoying man. I hope this really is the last time I have to explain myself. It’s NOT about normal shipping it’s about those who ruin your own because something is canon.

ARCANE THING CUZ IM A LITTLE PISSED
So i was talking to a friend and we had a kind of argument about how Arcane was "bad"/not as good as it could be
listen
yes
i agree
and ive posted about how the paising could have been a little better in act 2
but honestly some of the arguments they said were just stupid
first off
thought that the inclusion of the black rose wasn’t needed since we don’t learns enough about them
that is just stupid
since everything Ambessa does is cuz of the black rose
but they thought that the black rose should have just been either explained as a WHOLE
or not included at all
that is just stupid
since there will be more seasons / spinoffs
and since the black rose is something that will likely be "villains" in later seasons
idk just wanted to rant about this since EVERYTHING is a problem to them

Call me crazy, but I’m thinking that not every single issue within a relationship will necessarily be solved in one conversation or, in media, one singular scene.
When I see people get upset that not everything is addressed or apologized for before two characters “make up” in one way or another, I think to myself, that just means the characters are acting true to their emotions first!
Example: two characters rapidly grew apart. Character A feels betrayed by character B. Later, they’re reunited, and A finds out that B is trying to make up for their wrongdoings. There’s a flood of joy and relief! And character A expresses it immediately with a kiss!
When two people feel a rush of emotion like that, I can’t help but think that immediately expressing those feelings physically feels natural and human. I think it’s okay if the finer details come later in the conversation. I’m not saying it’s always alright for the story if conversations happen off-screen, of course not, we’re the audience, how else will we follow the story. But I am saying that it’s silly to be upset that all of the trauma isn’t overcome in ONE conversation! Humans take time!

god, I wish we got to see vi and ekko interact more. it would have been so nice to see vi being an older sister figure to ekko, especially during the first three episodes of the first season. but instead we only got like four scenes between them
