SO i just realized this angst might’ve came out of completely nowhere for anyone who’s not in on my discord server

allow me to Explain, under the cut. trigger warning for suicide and abuse under the cut

so. the URC (undernet relay chat) channel that jonathan runs is open to the multiverse. there’s this mettaton who also comes there from another timeline where they’ve reached the surface and mettaton’s trying to make it big as a star in the human world.

now, humans aren’t exactly 100% in favor of monsters, and one celebrity felt threatened by the idea of being “replaced” by not only a robot, but a robot built by a monster. so they hired someone to hijack mettaton’s systems via a piece of malware that made him act against his own will and do some pretty nasty shit.

among other things, he started being horribly insensitive and rude in the chat, up to and including suicide baiting jon--now, this mettaton had already driven his own burgerpants to kill himself before, and he deeply regrets it, so whatever was piloting his body at the moment is using that to cut really deep into both jon’s and mettaton’s morale

the suicide baiting succeeded because of how well he was able to just tear jon the fuck down, and, well, here we are. mettaton’s been shut down and alphys is seeing to his repairs, and mettaton’s going to bear witness to the aftermath of his actions when he wasn’t in control of himself.
