In spite of the whole bonkers thing of TP Ganon wielding his own execution sword, I find it fascinating that he is using a weapon of Light to fight you --a weapon originally conceived for purposes of justice, and that light still steeps through him through the wound.
And, to top it all off, Link uses tools more aligned with darkness to fight him back (turning into a wolf, Midna becoming a eldritch horror...)
Symbolically this combo of reverse mirroring AND literal mirroring is very interesting I think

I get Ganondorf is supposed to be "evil" and everything but let's not kid ourselves and say the Royal Family aren't partly to blame for what is probably going to go down in Tears of the Kingdom. They had the bright idea to desecrate and preserve the corpse of someone (known for havoc and dark magic) who spews out a dangerous substance fuelled by dark feelings of anger and hatred, literally called "Malice", in painful suspended animation.
Tumblr media
They really thought "Wow, this totally won't piss him off" in the 10,000 years Calamity Ganon was a thing? Once again Link has to be the one to clean up the mess of the Royal Family after they took things too far (Shadow Temple cough cough, Twilight Realm as prisoner dumping ground, cough cough).

New work has been added to The More Things Change! Wild and Wars go off on their own to further investigate the Arbiter's Grounds of Wild's era. Warriors is looking for something special that he left there after his own journey, but does it truly still exist? Warriors looks to find any connection he can to his own adventure, in a version of Hyrule where everyone but him had managed to do the same.

Hi!! I just wanna say taking mini fic requests has helped me with my writers block and getting back into the vibe of writing, and I hope it helps you too :)
Could you maybe do Wars and Twilight being stupid and silly? They deserve to have fun
-crazylittlejester :)
Thats the hope haha. Thanks for the request! I can confirm they are having fun.
"So, What is it you wanted to show me anyway?"
"Just wait. It'll be fun."
The pair continued their walk. Making their way to the far edges of the rancher's world. "We are looking for small tracks in the walls," Twilight said, as he looked around.
"Like these?" The captain pointed to a wall with a track in it. Leading further into the canyon. And up the walls.
"Yes!" The rancher smiled as he dug through his bag. Pulling out a large object. "This is the spinner. And you are gonna have some fun with me." He grabbed the captain around the waist. "Just hold on to me!"
"Rancher What do you... AH"
Pulling the captain with him onto the spinning device sent it in motion towards one of the walls. The captain's grip tightened on the rancher's tunic immediately. As the spinner clung to the tracks as the pair of them began their travels along it. The rancher exclaimed excitedly as he gripped the captain tightly. Forcing the machine forward as the pair balanced.
"hold on tight!" The rancher felt the captain's grip on him tighten.
"I'm already holding on tight!"
"Wooo!" The rancher exclaimed as he pressed his foot into the device, forcing the contraption to expand rapidly leaping away from the wall and landing on another track.
They lept from wall to wall around a maze of tracks each jump making the rancher laugh.
Eventually, even the captain begain to laugh. "Woo!"
Leaping from wall to wall and around corners for some time until the sun settled into the horizon. The pair of them eventually came to a stop on a ledge above the canyon. An old chest left abandoned in the space. the captain leaned on it.
"Time is gonna kill us." The captain breathed through laughter.
"he can't kill us if he can't catch us." The rancher did too. Leaning against his knees and pointing outward with one of his hands in no particular direction.
And that. Made the captain really laugh.

Every review site is losing their minds about how the totk dungeons are a “return to form” after the divine beasts in botw, and man do i want whatever game they’re playing bc it’s sure as shit not the totk dungeons I played through. If they’re talking about how each dungeon has a more unique aesthetic that ties into the region more than the divine beasts did, then yes that is something that improved, but the core approach to puzzle solving in totk’s dungeons hasn’t changed from botw’s in the slightest.
A twilight princess or Ocarina of Time dungeon is a long sequence of puzzles that solve other puzzles, and you’re flying blind until you find the map. There are certain rooms you can’t enter without using a specific item, finding a hidden switch, or obtaining a key from another part of the dungeon. Sometimes the game will just dump you in a chamber with a vague hint from Fi/Navi/Midna and make you figure out what you’re meant to do from there. That’s not how dungeons work in totk. Aside from needing to go through the lower levels of the lightning temple before you reach the main objective, once you actually enter the dungeon you can dick around as much as you please. None of the terminals need to be reached in a specific order, there is no glaringly obvious Important Room that you can’t reach right away because the hookshot is found later in the dungeon, and any time there’s a halfway decent puzzle, the exact zonai device you’ll need is always very conveniently nearby lest the player risk needing to think too hard about how to approach the problem. Even in botw, which has gotten criticism for its dungeons being overly simplified, none of the divine beasts went out of their way to literally Hand You The Answer. Fi gets so much shit for telling you the solutions to various puzzles in skyward sword, meanwhile the exact vehicle you need to defeat the miniboss at death mountain summit in totk’s sage of fire quest is prebuilt for you.
For all the praise totk has heaped at its feet for allowing players total freedom in its gameplay, there’s rarely a moment where the game will allow you a moment to think creatively when it really matters.
