saints. the thought of trying to explain this to kaz brekker is enough to intimidate even her. she has never once been intimidated by kaz brekker, and she doesn't plan to start now. ❛ no. there's words that are for you, and there's words that are for brekker, and while sometimes those might overlap? absolutely not this. ❜

she has other things to say to their fearless leader, but those are brekker words.

"Is there?" Jesper's voice comes out too high pitched in its dubiousness.

Sure, he's had enough practice with failure, to be sure. His mind is always flitting around too fast and too distracted for good sense to keep up. If the world were just, he wouldn't have survived it as long as he has.

But failure never bothered him so much as it does when he's letting other people down. "How about you'll be the one to convince Kaz of that. Tell me how it goes."
