most of the time i won’t watch sageuks for the same reason i avoid legal/medical dramas: i just don’t like old scheming men. i’ve been watching dramas for 10 years now so i’ve seen sageuks (but haven’t finished anything but ssks) for that reason. which is lame, i know! but also i’m enjoying the friendship between the court ladies so much, it is giving me everything i like about this kind of story and i know when the old man in a room scheming to kill people show up, i’ll still have the court ladies to root for. so far this drama is being a nice surprise (tho some people already alerted me for the future weird plot, so i’m well prepared)
