Scott doodles a lot and has done so for as long as he can remember and will continue to do so

He especially doodles when he’s bored, and he’ll sketch just about anything

He’s not great at it, but he likes doing it

But put a paintbrush in his hand and something magical happens

He loves to paint. It’s a great outlet for him, besides baseball and it’s something all his own

No one is exactly sure where the talent came from. It’s suspected it came somewhere from his dad’s side of the family, but he’s kind of in denial about that

When he was in high school, his art teacher saw he could actually paint and put some extra effort and attention into him to help foster the talent.

One of his pieces won first prize in a high school art show.

When he graduated, his art teacher gifted him with a really nice set of brushes that he takes care of and uses even still

In college, he took some painting classes to fill electives. Easiest As he ever got.

Realism is his forte. If he can imagine it, he can paint it, and his work is often mistaken for photography.

One of his favorite pieces was created after the Pym Tech heist. He woke up one night after having a dream about the Quantum Realm, and he painted the world he remembered. He actually painted a whole series dedicated to the Quantum Realm.

When he showed the collection to Hank, the man was floored by what the Quantum Realm looked like from Scott’s perspective. As well as being floored by Scott’s talent. Clearly his protege was just full of surprises.

Painting helps Scott work through thoughts and feelings he can’t quite express through words. It helps him sometimes in an art therapy sense, and when he gets overwhelmed or needs space or something like that, he goes to paint.

More than one person suggested he do commissions, but he doesn’t want to because he’s afraid doing that will take away from how much he enjoys painting.

He listens to instrumental music while he paints, usually it’s original scores from his favorite movies. It helps fill the silence without distracting him with lyrics.

He loves giving his work as gifts, but unless something specific is requested, he’ll only give one painting per person. He doesn’t want to make everyone sick of his paintings; that’s his reasoning anyway.

He often gets requests, proving his reasoning false.

9, 13 and 15 for fic writer asks~~

9. How do you find new fic to read?

I'll watch a show/movie (usually because an actor that I like) and i'll jump onto AO3, and sort by word count. I start at the 2k and read utnil I hit around the 20ks, and then look through tags on the fics longer than that. Sometimes i'm lucky, sometimes I"m not, it just depends on how big the fandom is.

13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?

I used to be more partial to soul mate AUs, but as I've grown up, i've disliked how suffocating they often feel in fics. There's some that turn out good (Looks directly at aro/ace soul mate stories), but as of late I really cannot find the desire to read it anymore.

15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?

to be so honest, Cabinet Man. It's a Victorian AU for Doc Ock and Rosie, and I started it with @arandomnerdsblog578 . I still need to finish the last 5 chapters, but it follwoed similar to the Spiderman 2 movie with the pacing and settings of a "traditional" victorian AU. It's set in america, and during a year of one of my special interests, 1895. Most of it just followed Otto wooing Rosie, and Rosie standing by him (Quite angrily at first for him not telling he why) after he becomes disabled by his own hubris.

Happy New Year!!!

I've been on Tumblr since 2011, but this is the first year where I've really felt like I was using it for anything more than shouting into the void. I've found some incredible new friends and reconnected with wonderful people from my past. This hellsite has become a haven for me this year, and you are all to thank for that.

I'll be pretty busy tonight playing host for friends and snuggling my pug, so I just wanted to take this moment right now to thank everyone I've interacted with here this year. I've done a little bit of math and I've written and published across Tumblr and Ao3 nearly 70,000 words!!! More than I've written since high school, and it's brought me more peace and understanding than I can describe. Thank you to everyone who has liked/reblogged any of my works, sent me asks about anything, and who have stuck around through my random hiatuses and radio silence.

OK NOW so Twin Suns is my baby, my sweet summer child, the light of my life because it's the fic that started it all for me. I'd never done creative writing before (though I'm a big reader and have read fanfic since I was wayyyy too young) and one day in April 2022 I sat down and wrote what would become the turning point in Twin Suns and I haven't looked back since!! It's a slow burn (as in they don't even kiss until the second to last chapter type of slow burn 🥴) that has A LOT of feelings and even more YEARNING. After edits, it will be around 100k give or take. It's my goal to start posting it on a weekly basis beginning in August but that may change depending on life and editing.

That being said, I'm going to save this snippet for the announcement preview (a la what I did for Ex Libris) but here is the tagline summary:
