My beautiful koi betta Bisby has had a jumping spider neighbor taking advantage of her tank light to hunt bugs under for some time, and recently they met face to face! Very happy to capture each of them acknowledging the other - and Bisby's quick look back at me as if to say "you're seeing this too right?!" 🧡

Edit ✨️ For all those concerned, yes, she does have a lid! I'd just cleaned and was hanging out right there where I filmed from at my office desk. If you are new to fish keeping, please invest in a good lid or when picking setups, favor tank kits that include one!

preliminary aquarium plant haul..! Trying to get all-red/orange/yellow foliage for my green alien betta + kubotai rasbora tank! Might pick up more on round two, depending on how things look. I have my eyeballs peeled for some red cryptocoryne albida...at worst, I can order that locally online. It's a native plant to these areas, so it's not super difficult to obtain. [I am also dying for some red tiger lotus and red root floaters, but I have literally never seen them here...so I don't know if they exist in the local hobby at all]. I have to wait for the tank stand to arrive in a day or two before I can do anything with the 20g anyway.

[The green ferns and anubias plants are for the other tank, which will primarily host corydoras, khuli loaches, and (hopefully) threadfin rainbows]

comic character who keeps goldfish in a small, empty bowl. like, just in the background of their house, it's not fixated on or anything. as a reader you naturally assume that it's just like that for aesthetic appeal + ease of drawing, but then the goldfish die, in whatever way would be typical of bowl goldfish idk I'm not that into aquaria, and it becomes apparent that they were a metaphor for the character neglecting their loved ones' real needs in favour of an idealised image of their relationship. or something
