Nanami recognizes you instantly. Oh, yes. He remembers you. You purchased the last copy of the novel he wanted for the train back to Tokyo. So when he asks if the seat beside you is taken (and you say, 'not for him'), he can't help but discreetly read along as you flip through the pages. It doesn't let him experience the full story, and it most definitely isn't what he envisioned for the day's dose-of-reading, but he can easily fill in certain sentences for himself with a bit of imagination. He does find it strange that he doesn't need to keep angling his head in such a way to read the words stamped near the spine, but he shrugs it off as coincidence. What he can't classify as coincidence is when you tap him on the shoulder to ask what he thinks about the latest plot twist. He thinks it even stranger when he stands to walk you safely out the station in guise of discussing new character development, and then to ask, respectfully, if you'd like to meet up for coffee to talk about the ending. Maybe he got off a few stops earlier than necessary, but he wouldn't change this decision for the world.

AHHHHHHHHH OKAY IM GONNA EXPOSE MYSELF RIGHT NOW :’))) so! when i figure out that i have a crush, i become a more shy, even more introverted version of myself. where i would communicate easily i’m now stuttering, avoiding eye contact, and yes. my cheeks will turn a bright shade of pink, i literally can’t control it no matter how much i want to. i’ve also learned i’ll fidget even more in place, knit my hands and mess with my fingers or twirl a piece of my hair to distract myself :’) but i can say everything feels and looks more lovely, after all, i believe the universe loves those who are in love!
