Apple Skin:
~pulchritudomania~
Rough draft of chapter 1
A.K.A. the Snow White Otome!
Here I'm mostly just gonna introduce the main characters!
I have art I myself made for some of them, but for others...the little art I DID make of them does just NOT look good...I'd just gotten back to drawing after a LOOONG break So it's gonna be a bit of a mix between actual art I myself drew and the inpiration/reference images I've been using as placeholders
BUT! Keep in mind not all the reference images have the correct color features! Gonna include an image for what I imagine the hair & eye colors to be at the end
(I'm sorry, but they aren't actually dwarves...)
Tumblr media
Princess Snowdrop / 'Snow'
Character: Snow White
She's very kind, and sees the best in others, though quite insecure in various aspects of herself, mainly her appearance. She loves her mother very much and wants to make her happy.
Tumblr media
Kriemhild Beryl
Character: Evil Queen
The very embodiment, by her own lifelong dedication, of the description 'coldly beautiful'. Wife of the late king, and has been regent during the reign of terror of an infamous 'serial killer' who curses beautiful people with eternal sleep.
Tumblr media
'Uncle' Berengar
Character: Huntsman
Brother to the late king, now serving as the Queen regent's master of the hunt. Practically raised Snow, and always has her well-being in mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brandon Smith
Dwarf: Grumpy Apple type: Granny smith Dere type: Tsundere (getting the obvious one out of the way first)
He puts on a tough-guy act, but is actually quite caring to those he holds close to him- just puts his foot in his mouth a lot and gets embarrassed and defensive easily.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Christopher 'Chris' Pinkrand
Dwarf: Dopey Apple type: Cripps Pink Dere type: Bakadere
Nonverbal autistic, misses social cues, gullible, doesn't understand when he's being mocked, very honest in showing affection though does so in a way sometimes perceived as weird.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carmine de Lucius
Dwarf: Doc Apple type: Red Delicious Dere type: Deredere
Very polite and friendly; by all accounts perfectly pleasant. He has a stutter he tries very, very hard to control, but it comes out in moments of heightened emotion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damion Ambrose
Dwarf: Sleepy Apple type: Ambrosia Dere type: Kuudere
Due to his narcolepsy possibly putting him at risk of danger otherwise, Damion works in the house as the household book-keeper and Carmine's assistant, and so, doesn't get out much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arlie Rosenhyde
Dwarf: Bashful Apple type: Hidden Rose Dere type: Dandere
Anxiety. He was quite lonely growing up because other kids would ridicule him for the large burn scar across his right eye, and he often hid behind his older brother Jazz.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amber de Lucius
Dwarf: Sneezy Apple type: Golden delicious Dere type: Oujidere
Was given the nickname 'sneezy' as a child because his frail health always lead to him being sick with something or other for most of the year. Refusing to accept that he's no longer a noble lord with servants that keep his room spotless and cater to his every whim.
Tumblr media
Jazz Galburn
Dwarf: Happy Apple type: Jazz Dere type: Goudere
Loves helping people out and cracking jokes, loves seeing others happy, very reliable friend, but has trouble prioritizing himself. Very caring toward his younger brother Arlie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Schwartz Diamant
Character: The Prince Apple type: Black Diamond Dere type: Yandere
Childhood friend of Snow, whom he's quite attached to due to a difficult childhood, and frequent errand boy of the Queen. He really likes fairy tales.
And here are all the hair & eye colors I planned for the characters to have!
Tumblr media
There are some background characters too, but they're either tied to specific routes or they barley show up

Apple Skin: pulchritudomania route ideas - Amber
One of the 3 routes available from start
Was originally supposed to be the heir to the fortune of the main de Lucius house. Has a younger, bastard half-brother named Wilhelm who his mother took in to raise as her own despite him being from an affair her husband had. Amber likes his brother, but always thought of him being second to himself.
But when Amber is suddenly diagnosed with a serious life-threatening illness one day, his parents decide it's for the best that Wilhelm be the one to inherit the house, since his parents want Amber to go someplace that could help alleviate the symptoms of his illness and slow its spread. But Amber just sees this as him being disinherited in favor of his younger brother, a bastard he's grown up believing he's better than.
He was always secretly envious of Wilhelm having talents that he didn't, which is why he clung so tightly to the thought that him being older and the legitimate son made him just as good as him, if not better.
He was sent by his parents to move in with Carmine because they're distant cousins.
He treats Snow White like a servant at first.
He's only recently been— in his mind— kicked out of his home, and is refusing to accept that he's no longer a noble lord with servants that keep his room spotless and cater to his every whim.
He's actually quite insecure, and can thus be somewhat of the jealous type. Lowkey a bit clingy.
Slowly over the course of his route, he admits that he always knew deep down that his brother would be the better choice for an heir, and Amber just clung to anything he could to try to rid himself of that insecurity. Since Wilhelm was better than him at so much and Amber always secretly compared himself to him, he felt like he needed his status, and to be the most important person in every room he was in— acting like he's the best even though he feels like the worst— to make up for his impostor syndrome, which is why losing that was so hard on him.
Amber works— begrudgingly— as a sort of gardener/farmer, growing herbs Carmine needs for his medicinal work.
I'm imagining that when Amber first gets his work he hates it, the idea of him, the proud son of a noble line, working, is absolutely absurd. But as the game goes on, he actually becomes very proud of his little vegetable patch, and ends up giving Snow the title of 'assistant gardener' which of course isn't as good as a “””real””” Gardener such as him, but it is a very big deal since Amber hates sharing the spotlight.
Amber also has a soft-spot for Chris, since he believes everything Amber says quite easily, and is the only one who's always liked Amber's crops— what with him having an iron stomach.
I just got an idea for Amber's sickness!
So what if, instead of him currently having a sickness, he got seriously sick with something he could easil have died from just before the start of the game.
I'm thinking plague, honestly.
We know there was plague in the area at the time since Schwatz' half siblings died of it.
Having survived the plague, Amber feels like he shold be invincible now, but his family is incredibly worried. He just caught the plague! Maybe he even caught it as a result of interacting with those royals in a sort of trade deal thing
So now that he somehow miraculously survived, his family want to make sure to move him someplace where his chances of becoming seriously sick like that again are much lower.
Oh, and maybe Amber'd already had plague once before! So then his family also thought 'well then he probably won't catch it again'
So when he catches it again they panic
...And I just got a possible idea for Amber
See, his family owns the mine Smith works in, right?
So then it'd probably cause quite a stir when it's revealed Smith has been stealing from them??
I wanted Smith to be a bigger part of Amber's route anyway, what with their obvious rivalry
Snow comes to see the good in him through the cracks in the haughty, arrogant, ego-maniac noble façade he always clings to. Over time she becomes more and more concerned that his pride and ego, refusing to let his more serious medical issues be treated— and refusing to quit wearing those damn boots that are destroying his feet and ankles— all out of stubborn pride. She does everything she can to get him to treat his body better, saying the better he takes care of his body now, the more time he'll have in the future.
He doesn't listen.
The others tell her to stop trying and that it isn't her responsibility to care for him if he doesn't want to care for herself. But what is she supposed to do?! It hurts so, so much to see him basically punish himself due to his feelings of inferiority that he refuses to talk about, all while he refuses any and all help and advice she tries to give him. She loves him, and seeing him disregard his own life and health, not caring at all about what seeing him in pain does to her, to the people who care about him, destroys her.
Also— since I want Snow's general theme to be learning to stand up for herself and no longer forgive at the drop of a hat, Snow puts up with Amber treating her poorly and she makes excuses for him whenever someone else calls him out on it.
She eventually can't take it anymore and yells at him, then runs away.
The next day she feels horrible about what she did.
But in the end, that was the wake-up call he needed. And he himself realizes just how poorly he's been treating her poorly, and decides to try to change himself to become a better person, someone better for her.
I want this to happen around 55% of the way through.
I'm thinking I want a comb to be here somehow.
Like, in the original, the Evil Queen tries to kill Snowhite with a poisoned comb.
And we included the apple in Smith's route and the cord in Chris' route.
Since Schwartz is the antagonist, maybe he gifts the comb to Snow and then plans to take her back to the castle with him after she uses it and falls asleep while home alone?
No no no, that wouldn't work…Schwartz is too impulsive for that.
Oh, maybe Branwen has found out Snow is alive and when Schwartz is going to visit Snow, she tells him to take the comb with him.
Br - 'Figure she'd wanna comb her hair after years not allowed to touch one.'
Sch - '!!! You knew where I was going?'
Br - 'Wouldn't be 'Her Majesty's Eyes' if I didn't. I don't care where she is so long as it ain't here. Just don't blab about it being from me.'
Sch - '…I've never understood you.'
Br - 'Never asked you to.'
Then she walks away.
He wears a pair of boots with very tall heels all the time. They make him the tallest of them all, and is a part of overcompensating for his impostor syndrome
They make his work as a gardener more difficult and even actually hurt his feet in the long run, but he refuses to stop wearing them
Tho at the end of his route, he stops wearing them, even though it means he's shorter than his brother when they renuinte.
This route will probably involve the other LIs berating Amber for treating Snow the way he does at first.
Dance event:
Amber has very high standards for her dancing and complains whenever she accidentally steps on his toes, and eventually decides it'd be easier to just have her place her feet on top of his, and suddenly, they begin an elegant waltz
Chris sits on Amber's shoulders— Amber stumbles around with Chris on his shoulders, trying to prove he can do it while wearing his boots but failing spectacularly because he's carrying an entire other person.
He sneezes and both he and Chris fall backwards into a pond. It makes a HUGE splash.
Amber can play the organ
The bell rings midnight as the dance party ends
As the game progresses, he becomes more and more proud of his little garden patch, it's his after all, he raised all those herbs and crops so of course they're amazing. And I think on his route, Snow maybe suggests that he start growing things like potatos, tomatos and strawberries and such that she could use to cook with, and he ends up proclaiming her his assistant gardener— not as good as an 'actual' gardener such as him, but still very noteworthy for him since he hates sharing the spotlight.
Then at the very end, blushing, he says he might consider promoting her to co-gardener.
Once he grows close to someone, he will do everything he can to assure they are treated with proper respect and given the best treatment possible.
They are his, after all, and of course the things and people that are his should only have the best.
He is a very, very biased man and does absolutely nothing to hide it
At the end of Amber's route, he starts working really, really hard to save up for an expensive engagement ring for Snow, because he'll give her nothing but the best.
He absolutely adores her and is definitely the kind of 'I love my wife' husband who would lavish them with love and gifts, and would want to show them off to everyone.
But this leads to him starting to overwork himself, and he very nearly becomes sick. Snow has to chide him again for not taking proper care of himself.
He agrees to take better care of himself.
The ring he ends up getting her might not be fancy, and he says that he wanted to get her something better, but she's overjoyed and loves it, and that knowing the work he did was so that he could get it for her means more to her than whatever the ring's worth could be, no matter how expensive.
I want Schwartz to be the primary/final antagonist for this route, so at the end Schwartz shows up, determined to take Snow away from Amber. Schwartz is very determined to kill Amber with his bare hands if he has to.
I feel like the primary conflict in his route is going to be him becoming insecure and jealous once he finds out that Snow and Schwartz are really good friends. I think Schwartz could actually start off kinda normal in this route, being overjoyed when he finds out that Snow is alive, reuniting with her and being very affectionate. Then when Schwartz and Amber meet each other during this reunion they both kinda realize that the other has feelings for Snow and become jealous of the other, since she seems to care about both of them.
But in the good end— thanks to a light scolding/pep-talk from Jazz, who is in love with Snow but doesn't think he could ever deserve her and so would never act on it, just wanting her to be happy— Amber ends up realizing his jealousy is just getting in the way of being genuinely closer to Snow, and reveals his insecurities to her while also telling her that he loves her, which is why he got so upset meeting Schwartz, someone who had a lot of history with her whom she could possibly like more than him.
But by now we should now that Schwartz is not the kind of person to think rationally as his first, second, or even third choice, and he does not realize the same thing, and tries to literally kidnap Snow, so obsessed with the fairytal fantasy he's always envisioned for him and Snow to actually consider what she wants, which is to stay with Amber.
In the epilogue, Snow and Amber attend a small ball held by his parents in the neighboring kingdom, where he proudly announces to the whole room that she is his fiancé.
Amber reunites with his parents and Wilhelm, and all three of them note how Amber has really matured in the time he's been away, and he not-so-subtly insinuates that it's mostly thanks to Snow.

Apple Skin: pulchritudomania route ideas - Smith
His is one of the 3 routes available from start
I want him to be one of the taller ones. And I've been thinking more about jobs and stuff, and I think Grumpy should still work in a gemstone mine
I have an idea that maybe one of Carmine's distant relatives owns it (I'm thinking the de Lucius family is gonna be quite a prominent one) and so he's asked on Smith's behalf for him to be allowed to work there. I'm thinking Smith has some money troubles in his family, and also secretly steals a few of the smaller gemstone scraps most people wouldn't notice were now gone, to send home to them so they can sell.
He puts on a tough-guy act, but is actually quite caring to those he cares about but just puts his foot in his mouth a lot and gets embarrassed and defensive easily. And he does feel bad about stealing, especially since Carmine could be in trouble if anyone found out, but his family really needs it
But I'm also thinking he prefers to go by 'Smith' since his father was a blacksmith (him dying created the family's money problems since Brandon's mom couldn't work at all due to needing to be home to care for Brandon's many younger siblings)
So Brandon had to start working a lot of odd jobs wherever he could. At first he felt really upset about it since he was only a young teenager when he had to grow up very quickly to provide for his family, and the only way he could come up with to deal with those emotions was to take it out on his mom. Now he feels ashamed of it, and took this job in the mine very far away from his family because he's too scared to face any of them again, but also too stubborn to admit it, so getting a well-paying job that took him as far away as possible and just ignoring all the letters his family send him (but not throwing them away, just keeping them in a drawer because he would still feel too bad about getting rid of them) was the only way he could come up with to deal with it, and it being such a good job was also a good excuse
Oh, and I'm also thinking that his grandmother was very important to him during that time after his father had just died, just as a way to tie this into the 'Granny' part of Granny Smith
And I want the pickaxe Brandon uses to be one his father made
Quotes: [about Amber] “Argh! I can't stand 'im! Who the hell does he think he is? A King? The Emperor?!”
His grandmother was his only real comfort after his dad had died. When he suddenly had so many new responsibilities and was struggling with his childhood suddenly being cut short, being around his grandmother made him feel calmer. When he was younger she'd tried to teach him to whittle as a way to calm down, but it didn't work, and he always threw it into the fire out of frustration. Then one day she told him to just slash at a wood block when he was angry, then try to shape it into something new after he'd calmed down. It gave him a way to try to manage and work through his emotions. But when she died, he stopped. It reminded him too much of how much it hurt to lose her, too, and all the whittling supplies were at her house, and were later packed into a storage closet. His anger started getting the better of him and he got worse again, eventually blowing up and destroying some important family heirloom or keepsake from his dad. His mother slapped him, crying. He stormed out. When he came back, his mother and siblings were all asleep. He packed a small knapsack with the essentials, and his dad's old pickaxe. And…he couldn't stop himself from digging through the storage closet to find his grandmother's old whittling supplies to bring with him. Then he just started walking, ashamed of what he'd done, prepared to never go home. He was too ashamed of himself and afraid of facing his family after it.
After just living off the money he brought with him for a little while, he got drunk in a tavern one night near closing time, and started talking to one of the servers, explaining he needed to get a job as soon as possible or else he'd be destitute, saying Sm - 'An' it's not like I can just go waltzin' on back home…' That server was Jazz, and feeling bad for him, he said J - 'Hmm…that sure is a pickle… Tell you what! I'll talk to my friend for you! He has family ties to this one mine— I'm sure he'd be able to getcha a job there!' And so, Smith ended up getting a job in the de Lucius gemstone mine.
On the first day when Carmine suggests Snow could choose to go with Smith, Sm - 'Why the hell would I need her help? She's so scrawny!' And he just kinda refuses. But then Jazz will just 'happen' to notice that Smith 'forgot something' on his way to work and tell Snow where to go to get it to him (Jazz made it all up). Smith is upset but says that now that she's here she might as well help out, telling her to operate the carts that day. (Then at the end of the day he tells her to go ahead so he can steal some gems for his family without Snow finding out) and he's shocked when he sees her standing nearby waiting for him so they can walk home together Sm - 'Let me guess: you forgot the way home.' Snow flushes. Sn - 'Um…yes… I'm sorry.' Smith just sighs. Sm - 'I knew something like this'd happen.' Sn - 'I'm sorry…' Sm - 'Whatever. Let's just head back already; 'm exhausted…'
Dance event: Smith is like 'w-w-whatever, I guess I can dance, but if you step on my feet I'm out of here' que Snow accidentally stepping on his feet multiple times, with him loudly complaining every time, but he still doesn't let go of her despite it
I want there to be a scene where Snow breaks down crying over trying to come to terms with the fact that her mother would really try to do something like that to her. Her nose burns and her eyes moisten and according to Smith's narration 'her face scrunches up like she just hit a lemon' Every single neuron in Smith's mind is screaming at him to comfort her— seeing her in pain hurts so much and he wants to do absolutely anything to make it better. He's just standing there, paralyzed He knows what he wants to do but he just can't do it! It's like his body isn't listening to him! And he is so angry at himself! Snow is too shy to try to go closer and cling to him, so she just keeps crying and hugging herself, and he just stands there. Eventually he settles on a compromise, and sits down right in front of her, with his back to her. She leans her head on his shirt and clings to him. In Snow's mind you just see her thinking about her mother a lot, asking 'why'. He starts whittling. When she eventually stops crying, she says 'I didn't know you could whittle' and goes to sit next to him. Sm - 'My gran taught me; used to tell me her pa was a woodworker way back. Whenever I'd get too angry she'd put a block o' wood and a knife in my hand and tell me to go nuts. Usually just ended with lots of blocks with weird, jagged angles. But when I'd calmed down she'd tell me to try again, to try to salvage it and make somethin' new of it.' He's started slowly smiling talking about his grandmother. Sm - '???' Sn - 'You must really love your grandmother.' Sm - 'Yeah.' Sn - 'Where is she now?' Smith's face falls and he stops whittling. Snow's eyes widen and then she looks sad. You get a choice here 【Hug him】 +2 affection 【"I'm sorry for your loss."】 +0 affection 【Put your hand on his shoulder】 +1 affection He prepares to start to say something to break the ice, but he freezes up entirely when Snow suddenly hugs him. She starts crying again. Sn - 'I'm sorry…' Sm - 'Wh— you— y-you didn't do nothin'…' She shakes her head. Sn - 'No, I'm…I'm sorry for your loss…' She holds him a little tighter. He doesn't really know how to respond. Slowly, a few tears well up in his eyes. If you have high enough affection with him, he starts crying quietly. Holding onto one of Snow's arms with one hand, burying his face in it to hide his tears. But Snow can feel the gentle twitching of his shoulders, and snuggles even closer. When, later, someone calls for them, saying it's time to start on dinner, Snow gently gets up, and offers her hand out to Smith. He takes it, but due to the difference in height and weight, she almost starts falling forward. He snorts, holding back laughter. Sm - 'If you're gonna keel over, don't offer. Ya gotta know your limits, yeah?' He's smiling at her. She smiles back. Sn - 'Yeah.' When he sees her smiling face, his heart tightens. His face becomes red and he looks away, starting to walk off. Sn - 'Smith…' She calls out to him. Sm - 'Y-yeah?' Sn - 'Thank you.' Sm - '…' His face is even more red and he turns away to try to hide it. Sm - 'D-don't mention it…'
Whittling is therapeutic for Smith, though he stopped doing it after his grandmother died. After this event, he starts whittling again. I want there to be a small CG of some things he's whittled on his desk, like an apple, a cat, a mine-cart. And I want him to eventually start making one of Snow.
At one point, The Queen finds out about Snow still being alive thanks to her mirror, and sends out a message to the kingdom that she has found evidence the Princess Snowdrop is still alive, and is asking anyone with any information to come forward. Berengar is away on a mission, but Kriemhild plans to deal with him when he gets back.
Oh, and maybe at one point he thinks of leaving— maybe after it's been found out that he was stealing gems from the mine to send home to his family— and blows up and gets angry in an attempt to distance the people around him from him, and he plans on throwing the little wood-carved Snow into the fire. Snow gets a choice here if you have high enough affection. If you don't have high enough affection Smith yells at her to leave and you automatically get the bad ending where Smith dies.
Selection 【Talk about the whittling】 Correct choice! 【Try to calm him down】 Wrong choice, locks you out of the good end.
If you picked the correct choice, first you as Snow need to try to choose another option out of three about how the current situation ties into his whittling. 【The carving didn't turn out how he wanted】 Wrong 【Relationships are like wood-carvings】 Wrong 【He's throwing everything into the fire】 Correct! If you get it wrong, you're automatically forced to go back and pick the other option. If you get the choices right, Snow basically tries to explain to him: He's just gotten angry and slashed cuts on the wood and made it pointy jagged and weirdly-shaped. But instead of throwing it in the fire (running away/giving up) which could be considered the 'easier' option, he should wait until he's calmed down before making that decision and then try to salvage the jagged edges and try again to whittle them into something. Then she leaves the room to let Smith think. Either way, he ends up not being able to throw the figure he carved to look like Snow into the fire. He feels guilty. Though how guilty he feels depends on which ending you're now on your way towards. If you're locked into the bad end he feels incredibly guilty, so much so that he can't bring himself to speak to Snow at all the next day.
If you've been locked into the bittersweet end, the next morning he says: Sm - 'Sorry… For last night.' Then walks away. If you aren't locked into either ending, he says: Sm - '…Thank you. For the, uh… For last night.' Then walks away.
That evening just after Smith gets back from work, Branwen and Kriemhild (disguised as the bakerwoman and the bakerwoman's daughter respectively) show up and say that their wagon has gotten stuck, and Branwen tries to tug him along to help get it unstuck. Smith doesn't want to leave Snow on her own since they know Snow's at a higher risk of being targeted by the Queen, but Snow assures him that she'll be fine, the bakerwoman will be here, after all. He follows Branwen reluctantly, but he quickly figures out something is wrong— he remembers something Jazz said about the bakerwoman and her kids being out of town for the day to visit the bakerwoman's husband, and instantly knows something's wrong. He tries to warn Snow, but she's already taken a bite, and she falls to the floor. (I think I'd like this scene to start with Snow's POV, which ends once the old lady comes. Then we switch over to Smith's POV and see him following Branwen and realizing her story is bunk, upon which he starts to run back to the house. Then we go back to Snow's POV, which starts back up where we left off, and after Snow has taken a bite of the apple, Smith runs onto the scene, calling out to her, too late) And then the screen goes black as she falls, and we switch back over to Smith's POV. And what he does next depends on which ending you got.
Endings:
(idea 1) ~Rotten end~ Smith's first instinct is to run after the Queen, and he does so alone. She riles his anger up by talking bad about Snow, and about him, and about his family, and— since some choice the player made means he's not as good at trying to calm down to think through things rationally as he could— she sees an opening, takes it, and stabs him. She says something else to taunt him, basically saying what the antidote is, and that he wasted his choice and chose to run away on his own just like he did with his family, instead of actually being there for the people who need him most right now. Then he starts trying to limp back to the house to save Snow. The Queen lets him, knowing he won't make it. He's bleeding heavily from his wound, but he doesn't even notice the pain— all he can think of is getting back to Snow, and how much of an idiot he is. He makes it back to the house, and he tries to reach for Snow, but his consciousness fades and he dies just before he can reach her. Ending obtained: -Impulsive-
(idea 2) ~Sour end~ So the same as the bittersweet end but instead of going back to sort things out with his family, he just runs away to try to start over somewhere new again. Ending obtained: -Wildfire-
(idea 3) ~Bittersweet end~ starts like idea 1, with Smith running after Kriemhild. But this time, because Snow had supported him with things like his family situation, been so patient with him and believed that he could still redeem himself and become a better person than the guy who took his troubles out on his family who just wanted to help him without needing to be separated from them, even when he didn't, he's calmer. He doesn't fall for her taunts, because he no longer feels so cripplingly insecure about them. In seeing she can't just get him too mad to think and then off him like she had planned, she starts to genuinely become kinda afraid. I'm thinking her black magic is limited to rituals— kinda like alchemy— she can't just snap her fingers and have magic happen, so up against a man almost twice her size who is incredibly strong, she would surely lose. So she books it away, and manages to lose him. His focus then immediately shifts to Snow, afraid that maybe the Queen went to finish her off. Smith runs back to the house, and just as he arrives, so do the other 6. He explains the situation to them, and they run off after the Queen, to make sure she can't make it back to the castle and cast any more hexes. They throw a boulder on her off-screen then lay Snow in a glass coffin, which Smith watches over basically 24/7, while the others pour over any books they can find to try for an antidote of some kind. They can't find it, but… Then The Prince shows up. As the Queen's loyal little lackey, he of course knows what the antidote is, and tells him. But he says he's been watching from a distance and doesn't think Smith, running off to chase the Queen instead of checking on Snow first, truly deserves her. We cut back to Snow's POV as she wakes up to see Smith leaning over her. But then the next day, Smith is gone, leaving a note thanking Snow, saying he can face his family because of her…but that this is goodbye. This is an ending where you weren't locked into the other two bad endings, but you also don't have high enough affection for the Sweet end
Ending obtained:
Name still kinda undecided
(idea 4) ~Sweet end~ A lot like 2, only early difference being that Smith stays with Snow. The other 6 arrive, they go kill the Queen, glass coffin, you know. Then Schwartz shows up. This time, he looks very sad. He says that, seeing Smith stay with Snow all that time as the others hunted the Queen down, never leaving her bedside, he thought 'that should be me'….but realized something. That wasn't him. He wasn't by her side, like he'd promised himself he would, like he thinks a prince should. But Smith did stay by her side. And he says 'You were the one who stayed with her. not me. I really believed Her Majesty when she said Snow had run away because she didn't like me anymore. I was so blind…that I trusted the Evil Queen instead of my Princess. I loathe to admit this more than you can possibly imagine, but…you are far more worthy of being her prince than me.' And so, he tells Smith what the antidote is, and leaves, walking into the dark forest alone, his back looking very lonely. And then back to Snow's POV waking up to see Smith. And this time, he promises to stay by her, saying something like 'I would never leave my Princess.' The next day, Snow wakes up to see Smith sitting on the floor, his arms and head on her bed, asleep. After he wakes up, Snow says: Sn - 'I did tell you that we could share the bed…' Smith's face becomes red. Sm - 'Y-you needed to rest after what happened!' Selection 【Point out he slept on the floor】 Sn - 'But you had to sleep on the floor! If anything, knowing you had to sleep in such an uncomfortable way made it harder for me to sleep. And…I would have felt a lot safer with you there.' Sm - 'Huh?' Sn - 'So next time, you need to sleep next to me. Please?' Smith's face becomes a bit red Sm - 'A-alright then…' 【Tease him】 S - 'The bed has enough room for both of us, I think. Or…do you mean if you were there, I'd have been doing something other than resting?' Que Smith's face becoming so bright red that his eyes disappear. Sm - 'I—' Sn - 'Is it true? If you were in bed with me, would you have kept me up all night?' Sm - 'U-um…' Sn - 'I've passed by your room after you've gone to bed before, and since I've never heard you snore, I don't think that's what you'd be referring to…' Sm - '…' Sn - 'So then…what would you have had me doing?' There's a short pause. Sm - 'I-is this fun for you?' Sn - 'I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist. Although you must admit…you walked right into that one. Sm - 'T-true, s'pose I did…' He sighs. Sm - 'How's my heart gonna survive living like this for the rest of my life?' Cut to an Epilogue of Smith and Snow traveling back to Smith's hometown, where he hopes to make ammends and reconnect with his family, having Snow by his side supporting him. He admits that it's going to be difficult, and that he's scared, but that he'll do it. And he admits that…having Snow by his side, he feels stronger. Ending obtained: -Sour is my favorite taste-

Apple Skin: ~pulchritudomania~
Chapter 1 super rought draft
Bc why not
The actual game begins with Snow getting water from a well, singing as she works and talking to the birds. Then Schwartz arrives, and says her singing is just as beautiful as ever. Snow is surprised, since she didn't expect him back so soon, and he says his errand was over quicker than expected. He then says that 'uncle Berengar' is also on his way back, but that Schwartz rode ahead, because he just 'couldn't help myself; I was so happy to be getting back here again' Snow asks if the errand was really that bad, and Schwartz is surprised, about to start blushing, when Berengar arrives and answers for him 'no, not too much more difficult or grueling than our usual work.' Snow smiles happily 'uncle Berengar!' He gets off of his horse, walks up to Snow and ruffles her hair saying 'hiya kiddo'. Then Snow notices the deer tied to the back of his horse, and asks if hunting was also part of the mission. She becomes visibly more sad seeing the dead creature. He says:
B - 'No, but I saw it nearby— poor thing was wounded already and probably wouldn't survive for long…I figured killing it quick would alleviate it of its pain.'
Sn - 'But the Queen doesn't like deer meat…' Her uncle chuckles and looks to the side with a faint wry smile.
B- 'Right you are. But it shouldn't be too difficult to hide the flavor with enough of the right spices. Maybe it'll be harder to tell if I ask the cooks to make sausages out of it?'
Snow's narration says how her Uncle Berengar had never been one to keep such subject matters from or coddle her, even if her father used to become upset at him for it when she was younger. Then he says he should probably be getting it to the kitchen now, says 'see you around, kid' and slings the creature over his shoulder with one arm and takes his horse's reins in the other, walking the rest of the way. Then Schwartz says
Sch - 'You should probably try to avoid the kitchen a while. What with the, um…preparation process, and all. I will try to ask Her Majesty to give you work as far away as possible.' Snow's narration says he knows how she hates to see dead animals, and that he's always been considerate of her like that, trying to look out for her in any small ways he can, ever since they were young children.
Sn - 'Thank you, Schwartz.' She smiles at him. We see Schwartz' cheeks become a little red, and he smiles back at her (with an expression that looks like he is in absolute bliss) And we get expositional narration from Snow about Schwartz, saying how he was taken in by the Queen after his mother died— they were acqaintances, presumably, and his mother had asked the Queen to care for her son should anything happen to her. They chat a little bit more about what the other has been up to while away Then Snow says
Sn - 'Shouldn't you be heading to the reception hall to report back to the Queen?' Schwartz' smile falls
Sch - 'I…suppose I must.' He sighs Sch - 'How I hate having to leave your side after I just got back…especially to speak to her of all people…'
{ This choice only shows up after you've completed all the Dwarf routes } Selection 【I feel the same way】 Schwartz' route start Sn - 'Yes, I feel the same way…you only just got back, yet we already have to say goodbye again.' Schwartz smiles, and tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear Sch - 'I'll be back as soon as I can. No matter what, I will always come back to you.' Snow smiles, too S - 'And I would do the same for you.' She takes his hand. Sch - 'You mean that? You'll…always come back? You'll never leave me?' He holds both of her hands in his. S - 'I promise.' Schwartz nuzzles his forehead against hers Sch - 'Then I'll be holding you to it.' Then his smile fades slightly, and he very hesitantly let’s go of Snow's hands. Sch - 'I'll see you soon, Snow.'
{ This is what Snow will automatically say before completing the Dwarves' routes } 【It won't take that long】 Sn - 'It won't take that long. And afterwards you can seek me out again. I may be in another part of the castle, but that's never stopped you from finding me before. Remember? You always used to find me when we played hide and seek as children. There was nowhere I could hide where you couldn't find me.' Schwartz laughs
Sch - 'That is true. Then, I will find you later. Goodbye for now, Snow.'
Sn - 'See you.' And Schwartz leaves.
Sn - 'Oh, right! I came here to fetch water!' She gets a bucket of water from the well, then goes into the hall and starts scrubbing the floors. Then after she's done, she's about to go leave the bucket back near the well, when she bumps into someone— a tall, blonde man with light green eyes. She quickly curtsies and bows her head down very low.
Sn - 'I-I am so sorry, sir! Are you alright?'
??? - 'Am I…alright…?' He speaks in a tone of voice that shows he is clearly upset.
??? - 'No.' Though when she looks up at him through her bangs, he's not looking anywhere near her.
??? - 'How could I possibly be?' He spits out angrily— then he walks away without a second word. She's confused.
Then, Branwen comes to say the Queen calls for her Here we meet Branwen Br - 'You. Majesty's calling on you to do some actual work for her.'
Que our introduction to Kriemhild. K - 'You.'
Sn - 'Yes, m—' Kriemhild gives her a look Sn - 'I mean, yes, your majesty…' She curtsies very low.
K - 'Show this man to the physician's quarters.' Only then does Snow notice the man who had been standing next to her mother. He was of average height, with red hair tied into a ponytail resting on his shoulder, with dark brown eyes, and a pair of round glasses on his nose. Noticing her inspection, the Queen says:
K - 'This is Carmine de Lucius. He is a skilled doctor, and will thus be assisting our physician with his work for the time being. At least until we can find a new one to replace the old man.'
Sn - 'Yes, your majesty.'
K - 'Once are finished, report back to me— there is something else I shall need you for.'
Sn - 'Yes, your majesty.' Snow turns to the man. Sn - 'Please, sir, follow me.'
C - 'Ah, yes. Thank you.' Snow internally notes how she can't quite tell what, but there's something strange about how he speaks. She then shows Carmine to the room where the physician resides.
Upon entering, Snow sees the very old man on the floor, picking up shards of glass with his old, shaking hands.
Sn - 'Oh, Mr. Eichel!' She runs up to him and bends down to help him pick up the glass.
Mr. E - 'Oh, Snow, dear girl, thank you.'
Sn - 'Mr. Eichel, sir, why were you picking up these shards yourself? You could have asked one of the other scullery maids for help!'
Mr. E - 'Well, I would have liked to, but there was no one around. So I thought I may just as well do it on my own. A little scratch won't kill me! Ohoho.'
Sn - 'I'm sorry…I should have been nearby.'
Mr. E - 'Come now, girl, you cannot be everywhere at once. And considering your circumstances I—' Snow clears her throat and gestures to Carmine.
Mr. E - 'Oh goodness me, it seems my age is catching up to me, I hadn't noticed you there!'
C - 'It is no problem, sir. I am Carmine de Lucius. I…will be your assistant doctor for a while.' Snow notes how he slowed down while speaking just then.
Mr E - 'Ah, how kind of you. As you can see, I fear I am no longer quite in my prime. Hm…that name… Say, young man, would you happen to have been here before? I swear your name is something to me.'
C - 'Ah. You perhaps met my father. He was…assisting you for a spell…when you fell ill. It was many years ago. Snow notes how slow his speech was as a whole this time, even more slowed down in the middle. She then finishes picking up all the glass shards, and puts them in a cloth she had tied around her belt.
Sn - 'Mr. Eichel, what happened with the glass?' Mr. Eichel sighs.
Mr. E - 'It seems a patient of mine was unhappy with my diagnosis. I do not blame the poor soul. It would be distressing for anyone to hear, let alone someone still so young.' Then he turns to Carmine.
Mr. E - 'If you would just one second, young man, I have written a list somewhere of some things I shall need help with. Allow me a moment to find it…'
C - 'Yes, of—of course.' Mr Eichel goes into another room for a moment and Carmine turns to Snow.
C - 'Eeeexcuse me, I have not even asked your name.'
Sn - 'Ah— mine? I-it is 'Snow' sir…' She curtsies.
C - 'Snow? Is that short for something?' His gaze suddenly seems almost probing. Snow is silent. Carmine smiles sympathetically
C - 'Well, I..shan't pry.'
Sn - 'Thank you…' Then Mr. Eichel returns, and Snow curtsies once more, then goes back to the Queen
Que a scene of Kriemhild and Snow.
Sn - 'Your majesty…'
K - 'There is no one here but us, you may skip the formalities.'
Sn - 'Yes, mother.'
K - 'You did come very close to calling me that earlier. What if you had been discovered?'
Sn - 'I-I am sorry, mother—'
K - 'In any case, you must make sure not to slip up again in the future. Am I clear?'
Sn - 'Yes, mother.' Kriemhild looks at her sadly.
K - 'Oh, Snowdrop, my dear child…' She goes up to Snow and brushes her bangs aside.
K - 'You know why I must do this.' Snow nods. Kriemhild places her hand on Snow's cheek.
K - 'I do it to protect you. You have heard the rumors as well, have you not? Another pretty girl was put to sleep recently. As your mother, I do not want any such thing to happen to you, as well, and so I take the precautions I must.' Snow places her own hand on top of her mother's and leans into the tender moment, smiling as she snugges against her warm palm.
Sn - 'Yes, mother. I know you only want to protect me.' Kriemhild smiles, and kisses Snow's hair.
K - 'How did I end up with such an understanding daughter? Now, run along, I have some business I must attend to.'
Sn - 'Yes, mother!' Snow beams at her, absolutely elated at even that small show of affection.
After Snow leaves, we see a scene of just Queen Kriemhild.
K - 'Yet even though I do all this, I cannot keep from worrying.' Fade to black
K - 'Because, my dear…your smile just now was much too beautiful…'
She goes to her magic mirror. K - 'Mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me who, in this land, is the fairest one of all…' The mirror, speaking in a woman's voice, answers back: M - 'You, my Queen, are fair; it is true. …But the young Snowdrop is many times fairer than you.'
A week later, her uncle approaches Snow, and tells her that, after realizing just how much she had been working recently, the Queen has asked Berengar to take Snow out for a picnic near the woods for the day. But when they get there, Snow asks why he hadn't packed any actual food with him for the picnic. Suddenly he gives her a big bundle.
B - 'Put these on.'
Sn - 'What? Uncle Berengar, what do you—'
B - 'These are boys' clothes— put these on, run through the forest and escape far, far way!'
Sn - 'Uncle—'
B - 'Do it now, Snow!' This was the first time her uncle had ever raised his voice at her.
Sn - 'B-but why…?'
B - 'Your mother, the Queen, seeks to kill you! I should have known, the moment she was given that mirror and those women began fall cursed, that it was only a matter of time until… I should have made a plan to get you to safety far earlier…!' She's put on all the clothes by now— a shirt that's too big for her, trousers she has to roll up and a cap to hide her hair.
B - 'Now, go! And don't come near the castle ever again, do you hear me?!'
Snow has tears in her eyes. Her uncle pushes her forward, and she begins to run, terrified. Berengar then cuts out the heart of a wild boar and places it in a box to present to the Queen. Snow runs through the forest blinded by tears, running as fast as her legs will carry her. She trips multiple times because she keeps stepping on rhe edges of the long, ill-fitting pants. Eventually, she collapses, exhausted from running and crying for so long, and falls asleep.

Apple Skin: pulchritudomania chapter 2
super rough draft
Chapter 2 start
When she wakes up, not only is she still exhausted, she is so hungry…she hadn't had any lunch or supper the day before, and she had been running until the early hours of the morning. And now, again, she had nothing to eat. She keeps stumbling forward blindly, no idea where she's heading. Then close to dusk, she sees a light up ahead, indicating she is at the edge of the forest. She stumbles out of the forest…and sees a house. Instantly, she runs up and pounds on the door. No one answers. She tries it, and to her delight, it's unlocked. When she comes in, she sees bread, meat and a knife on the counter and immediately eats almost all of it. Finally having some food in her stomach again, she notices the kitchen is very messy, and takes it upon herself to clean everything in it, and so she does, thinking it's the least she could do to repay the people who live here for eating their bread and meat. She keeps cleaning the entire house, washing laundry and hanging it out to dry, cleaning the dishes and placing them all back in the cupboards, wiping down the table… Then she is exhausted. She remembers that there were seven different rooms she found that each had a bed. You then get a choice of which one to go sleep in.
Selection 【The room with a very big canopy bed】 Carmine 【The room with very thick curtains】 Arlie 【The room with lots of books and the unmade bed】 Damion 【The room with the lavish rug and covers】 Amber 【The room with the pile of letters】 Smith 【The room with the old stuffed animal】 Jazz 【The room with the rock collection】 Chris
Then we see the Dwarves all returning home after a long day of work. They see the lights are on inside, and there's smoke coming out of the chimney, and when they go closer, see the laundry hung up outside. They bicker back and forth about the intruder, and about all their kitchen utensils being in the cupboards. They then look around the house for the intruder. Then cut back to Snow's POV, and she wakes up to see the LI whose room she's asleep in next to the bed. This gives +1 affection and a small scene with the LI whose room you picked.
Then I'm thinking that we get a scene where Snow recognizes Carmine, and at his request Snow explains that she had run away from someone trying to kill her, and hadn't eaten in a long time so she found the door unlocked and ate some of their food, then cleaned to try to make up for it, and that she was just so exhausted that she ended up falling asleep. Then Carmine says that she can stay with them for as long as she needs. Ca - 'You can stay here for as lo- as long as you need, Princess Snowd-drop.' Most of the others seem surprised. Most of. D - 'So the Queen finally set her sights on her own daughter.' No one says anything at this, not seeming surprised by that particular piece of news, at least. Smith loudly objects to this, and Jazz tells him nicely to shut up. Sm - 'So you're just gonna ignore how she cleaned our personal spaces? She probably went through all out stuff!' D - 'Then we'll just check that nothing is missing.' Arlie says that what she's been through sounds awful, Jazz points out that they do have an empty room, Chris nods, and Amber says how it'll be nice to have a maid to clean the place up, complaining about how disgusting it otherwise gets.
Sm - 'Then why don't you just clean if you're so bothered by it? Lazy ass…' Am - 'Excuse me? I am not lazy! Here I am, breaking my back in the field—' J - 'Garden patch.' Am - '—every single day— unwillingly, but still graciously, doing so without complaint, might I add— to make the vegetables that you eat. It would be absurd to expect me to do any more than I already am!' D - 'Your tomatoes gave half of us food poisoning.' Ar - 'W-without complaint…?' J - 'Oh, go easy on him, you two. Poor little rich boy has never worked a day in his life! You can't expect it to be easy for him.' Sm - 'Then why the hell did we place him in charge of growing our food?! Ugh, just thinking about that tomato stew makes me want to hurl.' Am - 'I resent the implication that my crops are inedible! Have you considered that perhaps the cook is the guilty party? Spoiling the beautiful fruits, or rather vegetables, of my labor.' Sm - 'What— every single night?! We rotate, ya dolt!' Chris points at Amber, makes a gesture of eating food, then gives a thumbs up, all with a big smile on his face. Am - 'See? At least someone recognizes the majesty of my produce.' Ar - 'I wish I could have an iron stomach, too…'
Carmine sighs, and turns to Snow. Ca - 'I-I apo-apologize for them, your hi- your highness…' Sn - 'No, I don't mind. A-and please, there's no need to be formal; just call me Snow.' Ca - 'A-a-are you cer-certain?' He looks troubled. Sn - 'Yes. Please… If it becomes a habit for you, then you might accidentally say it to someone who could tell my mo— I mean, Her Majesty.' After a while of Carmine looking a bit uncomfortable, hemming and hawing, he relents. Ca - 'Very well… Now, I think it's b-b-best you get some sleep first, then we can discuss all the details of you s-staying here in the mo-orning.' Sn - 'Yes, thank you.' The others had kept arguing while Snow and Carmine spoke, and then Smith speaks up loud enough that it cuts into their conversation too. Sm - 'Anyway, I don't care if she's a Princess or what, the last thing we need is another mouth that can't feed itself.' Then he stalks off, giving Snow a glare as he goes. Carmine shows her to her room. It's a small room at the end of the hall with two big windows that also has two beds. He explains that any visiting patients he has who need to stay over a longer period sleep in here, though he'll move one of the beds into the room where he usually treats said patients as soon as he can, saying it was convient to move it since this room was a bit too far from the treatment room anyway, trying to make her feel less guilty.
The next morning when Snow wakes up she looks at her clothes and thinks of her uncle and of Schwartz, wondering about what everyone at the castle think might've happened She hears a knock at the door Sn - 'Oh, one moment, please!' She gets up out of bed and hurriedly throws on her oversized clothes, then rushes to open the door, cautiously peeking out J - 'Good morning, princess!' Jazz greets her cheerily with a big smile. He says he was coming to wake her up for breakfast, and they walk to the stairs, upon which Jazz says he has to go wake Damion up so she can go ahead. Noticing the silent question in her eyes at the name 'Damion', he answers: J - 'Oh, right! He's the quiet one with the braid, he needs help waking up now and then. He's not lazy or anything like that, just…has some sleep issues. Well! Seeya at breakfast!' Sn -'Ah, yes, see you.' Snow waves and starts to walk down the stairs. J - 'Oh, but-- it really wasn't all jokes last night; be careful around the vegetables.'
, and she says sorry for not waking up earlier to be able to help J - 'Hey now, don't sweat it! You just got here. In all honesty, I imagine Carmine's probably gonna give you the day off
Snow looks in his direction, obviously anxious Sn - 'Did…did I do something wrong?'

Apple Skin: pulchritudomania route ideas - Chris
His route is one of the 3 available from the start
Nonverbal autistic, misses social cues, gullible, doesn't understand when he's being mocked, very honest in showing affection though does so in a way sometimes perceived as weird
Just wants to help out and be included.
He's often given the job to run errands in town, such as at the local medicine shop for things Carmine needs for his work but can't grow at home, produce like milk, eggs, vegetables and meat, some books for Damion at the bookstore, and other such things. Carmine gave him this job because he's very good at following precise instructions.
When nothing needs to be bought, he helps Smith in the mine by operating the mine carts and sorting the gemstones by size and color.
He has an older syster named Lydia
Ok so, Chris— Since he's non-verbal (and I want to stick to that— I don't want him to speak a singular word throughout the whole game) he's gonna need to speak through his body language and gestures he makes. So I was thinking that some of his sprites could be doing some of those gestures (I definitely want one that means 'I love you' for obvious reasons) but that means he's gonna have a lot more sprites than the others huh I thought of drawing it because just writing down the things he does every single time would get a little stale I think. And I want the player to also be able to learn what his gestures mean, since the point of his route is that he needs to find someone who can understand not only what he's trying to say but also show an interest in his inner world He's honest to a fault and always keeps his word, even when one or both of those traits lead him or someone else into trouble. If he knew someone was doing something bad, he'd want to tell someone, but if they said they're friends and asked him not to, he wouldn't say anything. He'd be confused, caught between not wanting to lie and not wanting to break his word.
At one point Chris went along to help at Jazz' place of work, and had been asked to look after the dog of the tavern owner in the village to make sure it didn't try to eat the food the owner was preparing and was told to 'give him something to chew on' if the dog started barking. Chris saw a bone in the chicken club on a plates on the table and thought 'dogs chew on bones' and used a knife to carve it out, then threw it outside to the dog, doing his best to scrape off as much of the meat as possible and put it back on the plate, but in doing so leaving nothing but scraps of meat on the plate. But then the owner got mad at him! He said 'This was an order from a customer! How am I s'pposed to serve this now, huh?! When I said something to chew on I meant something like a stick!' But how was Chris supposed to know that? Especially when he'd been told the dog could open the kitchen door so he needed to stay inside so he'd notice the dog trying to get in! This could be on the second day Snow accompanies him into town. The first could be them walking around buying things
He and Snow start cleaning together, and he finds that he absolutely loves organizing things back in the places they should be.
He asks Carmine for help learning to dance once he hears about the dance coming up since he wants to dance with Snow. When Snow discovers this, Carmine has to physically stop Chris from revealing that he's going to ask Snow to dance, and when Chris asks why he did so Carmine says that it should be a surprise. Schwartz ends up seeing Snow and Chris dancing at the dance festival. He then starts to become suspicious that the Queen is lying to him about Snow. He doesn't want to believe that train of thought because he wants to trust Kriemhild. He's loyal to her! But one day he goes up to her mirror in secret and asks: Sch - 'Mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me: who in this land is the fairest one of all?' Mi - 'You, my Prince, are fair, despite that no finery you wear. However young Snowdrop living beyond the seven mountains, free, is many times more fair than thee.' He feels something in his mind break. He becomes hellbent on getting Snow back, making up some excuse as to why Kriemhild can't have lied to him.
At one point Chris starts giving Snow tiny pieces of gemstones he finds while helping Smith in the mine, because he thinks they're pretty and so he wants to give them to her because he likes her. When Carmine finds out about this he becomes upset at Chris, telling him he can't just do that. Chris is sad and confused, conveying that he thought that it was fine since he's seen Smith take much bigger pieces multiple times, and the pieces Chris took were much smaller. He has unknowingly just revealed that Smith has been stealing from the de Lucius mine. When Smith gets in trouble for it, Chris feels guilty. He didn't think there was anything wrong with it since no one had directly stated they couldn't. His sister Lydia hears about this and comes straight there, to scold Chris about stealing. He tells her he really didn't know, but Lydia says 'it's so obvious it shouldn't need to be said; of course you can't just take the property of the people you're working for!'
Schwartz finds Snow. He's planning on asking her to go back to the castle with him. But when he sees Chris kiss Snow's cheek, and sees the expression that forms on her face after the fact, all bashfully blushing and tenderly holding her fingers up to the cheek he kissed, something in him starts to boil with jealousy so potent you can almost imagine the air around him start to sizzle and boil with poison. Schwartz finds out about Chris' sister Lydia, and Lydia has also recently found out just who Snow is, and wants to keep her little brother away from Snow. Schwartz approaches her. Sch - 'You. You're the pink one's sister.' Ly - ''The pink one'? He has a name, for your information; Christoph—' Sch - 'I don't care. What I do care about is Snow! You want Snow to stay away from him, and I want to take Snow back to the castle.' Ly - 'Our interests align…' Sch - 'Do we have a deal?' Ly - 'Wh- huh? What do mean 'do we have a deal'— who even are you? Sure, I want her away from my baby brother, but it's not like I'll trust the first guy who comes along with an offer to help!' Sch - 'I'm a dear…friend…of hers.' His teeth clench and grind against each other when he says the word 'friend' Sch - 'Yes…a very dear friend. I want to take her back home, where she belongs. I need to protect her!'
But their plan doesn't work, and Lydia comes around to Snow eventually.
Chris and Snow have been running errands in town together, and with a small nudge from Snow, the villagers have finally started trying to learn what he wants to say rather than just looking at him weirdly when he starts gesturing. And seeing that the world isn't quite as cruel as Lydia thinks, and that people could actually learn to understand her baby brother— and most importantly seeing how animated he becomes around Snow, and that Snow seems to like it— she lets up on trying to separate the two of them, and cries and hugs Chris, apologizing for being so harsh and overprotective. She can't quite figure out what Chris means when he starts gesturing, and Snow says Chris says he forgives her, and he knows she was just trying to look out for him. Seeing that Snow understands Chris better than even she does is the thing that finally wins Lydia over. Ly - 'So, when's the wedding?' Snow's face goes red Sn - 'A-ah, um, eh-' Chris starts wildly gesticulating and shaking his head, then gets Lydia's attention and points to his lips, where upon he mouths 'Suh-puh-ra-i-s' Lydia is confused for a second Ly - 'Separize…?' Then her eyes go wide Ly - '…Oh, you mean sur—' Chris puts a finger over his mouth and hushes her. Ly - 'Oh. Ooooooh.' Lydia looks at him with a mischievous, teasing expression Ly - 'Since when did you become such a sneak, huh?' Chris takes it literally and starts shaking his head. Lydia giggles at this. Ly - 'Relax; I'm just kidding.' She ruffles his hair. Ly - 'But be sure to invite me, yeah? I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world.'
Then she gets teary eyed again. She hugs both Chris and Snow. Ly - 'I used to be so worried about what'd happen to Chris if I wasn't there to help. But if he's got people like you in his life, guess I don't need to worry anymore. …Well, I am still gonna worry. I'll just try not to act on that worry as much.' And I think that, after this, Schwartz will show up and try to take Snow for himself. In secret, Schwartz had stolen a ribbon Kriemhild once planned to use to kill another beautiful person. He goes to the house where Snow lives, and it's close to dusk. She was at home alone that day doing some chores. She tries one last time to convince him to leave the castle. Sn - 'I know that I'm important to you…and you've always been important to me, too! You were my only human friend growing up, and you're still important to me!' She holds her hand out to him. Sn - 'Schwartz, please… Come with me. We could do all of those things we talked about wanting to do, like seeing the ocean, or stuffing ourselves full with pastries and staying up all night…' Sch - 'I… I want that too, Snow, but we both know Her Majesty wouldn't allow it…' She holds onto his hands. Sn - 'Then don't return to the castle! I know how much it hurts to think she might not be what you believe she is…I know that pain very well. But I've left, so then you can, too. You can stay here, if you want to!
He ends up pulling the ribbon around her neck to strangle her with it. There was a sleeping curse on the ribbon— which didn't affect Schwartz because he wears gloves— and she falls asleep. Chris was waiting nearby, but gets a bad feeling, and runs up to see Snow asleep in Schwartz' arms. He ends up throwing a rock right in Schwartz' face, leading to his forehead bleeding. Then Lydia comes after him— he'd suddenly started running and she struggled to keep up. Lydia doesn't have a problem with Schwartz. That is UNTIL he says he's going to kill Chris. Then her protective older sister side kicks into full gear and she's hell-bent on teaching him a lesson; messing with Chris means messing with her. And since Snow is so close to Chris, she's also like family at this point. Lydia manages to wrench Snow away from him. Then he points his sword at Lydia instead. Sch - 'He's brainwashed her somehow, I just know it! He's tricked her! I won't let him take my Snow away from me!' Schwartz starts crying. Sch - 'I-I-I'm— going to be the one to kiss her awake… B-because the Prince— always saves the Princess, and they live happily ever after…!' His face twists into an expression of pure despair. Sch - 'I'm not going to let it be anyone else!' At the same time, Damion, Smith, Carmine, Arlie, Jazz and Amber also show up. They ask what happened. Lydia says Schwartz tried to kill Snow, and she's passed out. C - 'I-i-is she bre-breathing?!' Ly - 'She is. He probably got her with that sleeping curse somehow!' Lydia turns to Chris. Ly - 'Chris! Take Snow!' Sch - 'NO!' Schwartz tries to lunge at Lydia, but Smith and Jazz try to lunge at him, causing him to need to go on the defensive. He then starts trying to retreat back to the castle. They all— sans Snow, Chris, Lydia and Damion— follow after him. Damion and Lydia choose to stay behind to help. Damion asks if Chris has any ideas about how to wake her Ly - 'Schwartz mentioned something about 'kissing her awake'.' Ch - [internal narration] Then that's just what I'll try! He places her head on his shirt on the ground with a look of determination on his face and leans over her.
Pre-kiss CG He presses two fingers to his lips, hovers them just over her own, then nods, and cocks his head to the side in a silent question. Ch - [internal narration] She can't respond if can't see me ask, and she can't see me if she's asleep. But I don't want to do it without her saying yes… Wait, but if I don't, she can never say yes! Hmmmm— what do I— He sighs. Ch - [internal narration] I guess I have no other choice I know could work. Sorry, Snow! With just the slightest moment of hesitation, he cups her cheeks and tightly closes his eyes before leaning down to kiss her. Kiss CG Ly - 'Chris! You can't just—' D - 'No, look.' Snow's eyelids flutter a bit. When she opens them and sees Chris and feels him kissing her, her cheeks go red and her voice squeals slightly. Chris' eyes fly open and he pulls back slightly. He blinks for a few seconds, then smiles incredibly widely and pulls her into a giant hug. After he kisses Snow to wake her up, he tells her about what he did and he apologizes for not asking her for her consent first. Well, he did try actually, but she didn't respond. But he was told that was the only way to wake her up. Then he confesses to her, telling her that he loves her, and that he understands if she doesn't feel the same. She interrupts him. Sn - 'Chris, the name of the antidote is…T-True Love's Kiss…' He nods. Sn - 'So then…the only person who could kiss me awake would be…' He thinks for a moment. You can see his brain ticking away until his eyes snap open and he goes even closer to her, with a look of wonder and excitement in his eyes. He clasps his hands together and puts his hands in a heart shape to his chest, then cocks his head to the side. Snow nods, her face flushed. She then points to herself, places her hands in a heart on her chest, then points to him. His face lights up in a giant smile and he basically tackles her, pressing lots of tiny kisses all over her face. She wraps her arms around him and giggles, then kisses his lips gently.
When the others get back— in the end, Schwartz died in a rockfall('rocks fall, you die' energy)— they ask how they managed to wake up Snow. Damion is the one to speak up first. D - 'True Love's Kiss.' C - 'Pardon?' D - 'That was the antidote.' He closes his eyes with a soft exhale. His shoulders droop a bit. (This is to foreshadow that Damion just realizes he's never going to be able to wake his mother, and that all his life's work has basically been for nothing.) Jazz places a hand on Damion's shoulder. The narration doesn't describe it, but Jazz' sprite will be wearing a somewhat sad smile. Snow asks what happened to Schwartz, and they explain. She starts to cry. She laments feeling guilty about leaving Schwartz behind. Chris takes her hand. He shakes his head. He takes up a small rock that's black and gestures referring to a horse, and that horse running away, then looks down at the rock before shaking his head. Sn - [internal narration] Schwartz could have chosen to flee, too…but he refused. Sn - 'I even asked him to come live here with us…
In the good ending, Chris and Snow end up moving out to live in their own little house in the village. Damion also moves out, and Jazz goes with him. But Carmine and Arlie make them promise to come visit sometime.
