Thanks for the tag, buddy @makeyouminemp3
Last Song: I do believe that it was Praying by Kesha, which is such a good song and I think everyone should listen to it at least once in their life and no, I am not joking.
Currently Watching: Oof, I have quite a lot. I'm watching My Adventures With Superman, The Secret Circle, Bridgerton, Smallville, and Grey's Anatomy. I am also re-watching Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and watching Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy with @makeyouminemp3
Favorite Color: It's a tie between orange and purple, and no, it's not because I read PJO and HOO by Rick Riordan.
Sweet, Savory, or Spicy: It really depends on my mood. I'm South Asian, so I love me some sweets and spicy food, but savory foods are also really good.
Last Movie: The Lego Batman movie because it just came on Netflix, and I've been dying to re-watch it. Besides Bruce lusting over Barbara (which still gives me the ick), it's still such a great movie and a good Batman movie.
Currently Reading: I'm currently reading through the Dark Phoenix saga, which is fun and interesting. I'm also 70% of the way through The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. It's... something. I mean, I appreciate the idea of someone good and pure being corrupted by society, and I definitely appreciate the friendships that border on homosexual relationships. However, the racism and antisemitism put into the novel by Wilde are pretty bad, and yes, I understand that these were just the period-typical biases, but it's still really awful to read about.
Relationship: I am single. In the past few months, I've come to realize that maybe I'm demi. Which is very confusing for me because I have a fondness for reading and watching about romance, but apparently, you can like shipping even if you are aspec. In real life, I don't feel romantic inclination towards people unless I have a strong connection with them, but I am capable of it, I think.
Current Obsessions: Well, I'm really into superheroes' media and comics, but that's been true for the past few years. My other obsessions are frequently on and off, like Yu-Gi-Oh, Gilmore Girls, First Kill, the Grishaverse, House Of Anubis, and many more.
The Last Thing You Googled: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because I was curious about where it originated from, and I read through the entire Wikipedia page.
Currently Working On: Nothing at the moment because I have been very busy for months.

Gx rewatch. Tag Team Arc
Episode 7
Jaden waking up to the disciplinary squad ready to break down his door after only like a week at school is great
The put him and Syrus under campus arrest. Apparently they are untroubled for going to the abandoned dorm (Chumley and Alexis were there to)
At their “hearing” they are threatened with suspension and Au Jaren has to be stressed at this point because there are a lot of things that he can get away with but if he gets suspended for what happened at the abandoned dorms then Oto-san’s not going to care about his secret anymore. He knows his Soto-san is stalking through these halls to fire everyone.
Then Crowler gives him a way out. A duel. If he and Syrus win then they are free but if they lose they are expelled. And Jaden’s relieved. If he wins he won’t have to tell his parents about any of this. There’s no way he’s going to lose.
Shout out to Chumley and Alexis stepping up and reporting themselves to the chancellor to take Syrus’s place. (They both know the weak link) I forgot how much I liked Chumley.
And here is Jaden completely unfazed and telling Syrus their is no one he’d rather have as a partner (boy is so excited to have friends)
It’s a great episode to set up Syrus character arc giving him a place to grow. I also love Jaden trying his best to help his friend by giving him pointers. But we also see a lot of Syrus. His willingness to quit at every turn. And I know he grows through the show, and I’ll have to get to season 3 to see how I feel, but I don’t think he changes enough.
Also why is Powerbond in his desk if he won’t play it?
I love the reveal of Zane being Syrus’s brother. But also that flashback… I get Zane’s point and he’s right but also like how old is Syrus in this flashback? 8? Younger? Like he’s 14 now and Zane is 17 and Zane is in middle school in the flashback so ya we’ll say 8 and 11 ish. So for 6ish years Syrus has had Powerbond in his deck as a dead weight because he won’t play it and it makes him feel like a worthless duelist? Why are you doing this to yourself? Just take it out.
Jaden is also trying his best to encourage his friend but sorry baby boy you’re not getting over that many years of trauma and self-doubt with some nice words.
Also Jaden hearing that Syrus’s brother says he’s not good enough. He tells Alexis that Syrus is a great guy and he could just see what Jaden sees and believe in himself he’d do great. That he had a great card and didn’t play it because of said brother. And as soon as Alexis tells him 1) that brother goes here and 2) it’s the top student Jaden’s immediate plan is go pick a fight. Like he knows the duel will be fun and Zane has to be a good duelist and he probs won’t win (he still thinks he has a shot) but his main goal is helping Syrus.
I also love Jaden hearing about how great Zane is and responding with “sounds like he’s not so great to his little brother.” Like yes this will work well for me. Au Jaden grew up watching Seto and Mokuba’s sibling dynamic and Joey and Serenity dynamic. Plus Atem and Yugi. Like he’s seen the best sibling dynamics and known of them would talk to their sibling the way Zane talked to Syrus.
Episode 8
Jaden talking about how if he had a big sibling who told him he wasn’t good enough that he wouldn’t be confident either. Yes we love empathy.
Also crowler hearing that Jaden is trying to duel Zane to help Syrus and immediately stoping it because he’s petty and wants Jaden expelled. I know we hate him but honestly peak messy behavior. Like don’t treat your students this way but also what a mess man. (Also coming up with ridiculous reasons for way Jaden can’t submit a form is great)
Syrus’s imaginary duel opponent having the voice of Tristian Taylor and the same silhouette is so fun. Like I don’t know if it’s that way in the sub but the fun people saw an opportunity and took it and I solute them.
I love seeing Chumley’s cards for the first time. Also he was so excited to have a pick up duel with Jaden. Also going with Jaden to the Obelisk blue dorm and watching him get water thrown on him.
Syrus runs away or tries to. (Chumley using the fact that it’s grilled cheese day as a way to lure out Syrus is honestly a mood.) and Wing Kuriboh appears for the first time out side of the shadow game. I love this little duel spirit! And it leads Jaden to Syrus. (Also Chumley being able to barley hear Winged Kuribohs voice)
I love Zane and Alexis’s relationship. The way he checks in on her and cares about her and her brother (his best friend)
Jaden breaking Syrus raft (I can’t swim! Syrus what are your plans) and all of this happening it front of Zane. Hearing his little brother is dropping out and saying about time is crazy.
Love Jaden standing up to him. Again he grew up around good duelist and siblings he’s not letting Zane’s attitude slide. “This will help Syrus’s confidence without hurting mine.” He’s also so pumped to not only help his friend but the best duelist.
Zane’s also awesome. His deck is so strong and he’s such as strong character. (Note I understand why Zane behaves the way he does towards Syrus, it’s just such difference from the siblings in DM) like he’s unflinching the whole duel and is always three steps ahead of Jaden. Like he can say whatever he wants because he can back it up. He also recognizes that Jaden is talented and acknowledges it.
“A good duelist is ready for anything and that means not only knowing how to use all of their cards but knowing how to play them to. And you play your cards well Jaden.” I forgot how much I love season 1 Zane to. Oh if only you didn’t lose your honor in season 2 (also Jaden thinking ‘that’s a nice compliment, but even better advise I hope Syrus is listening) and it reconceptualises the earlier flash back. Zane was never being mean he was trying to give Syrus advise. But he didn’t phrase it well and Syrus didn’t take it well (they are like 11 and 8 when it happened they weren’t great at communication)
Also Zane showing off Powerbond and Cyber End Dragon in the same move and winning the duel is such an awesome moment. Especially for Jaden’s first on screen loss. And Jaden immediately smiles and thanks Zane for the duel. They both smile and separate. Zane saying that Syrus chose good friend and Jaden saying Zane is awesome. And ending with Syrus knowing he has to play Powerbind not just use it is a great way to move the plot along and Syrus character growth.
Episode 9 -also known as as the first duel that doesn’t include Jaden
Chumley’s Dad. It’s a sake business not hot Sauce but whatever.
Chumley crying and saying he can hear duel spirits sometimes is great. I wish we did more with it. (I’m going to take this and run with it)
Jaden going to the Head Master (who is going to expel him if he loses an upcoming duel to plead Chumely’s case is great. Love Jaden’s friendship in these early episodes. Also he obviously doesn’t have a good relationship with the staff (yet) but he’s still willing to go an make his case. Love him for that.
I love that Chumley’s dad wants to duel him to see if he will stay. And the chancellor is so relaxed about all this. And the dad is a state dueling champion, just great. I love it’s a drinking deck.
Jaden being so excited to help Chumley make his deck and Syrus and Jaden giving him cards to help him win.
Oh Chumley not knowing how his cards work….
Jaden knowing Chumley’s dad has a one turn finishing move. (Ya au Jaden grew up going to tournaments, he’s seen this man’s deck before.) also him not liking the card flipkng the table because it rests the field is interesting to think about.
I also love that he’s using the cards Jaden and Syrus give him. Also the fact Jaden gives him the fusion card that matches with the card Syrus gives him (it’s anime nonsense) but I’m going to say Haden found it for him because he knows Chumley loves koalas.
And all that for Chumley to lose. Even at that Jaden is so supportive of his friend. Also I love that Chumley’s dad lets him stay because of his new friends Jaden and Syrus.
I know Chumley is kind of a useless character but I love him in these early episodes.
Episode 10
Chazz wanting to fight Jaden to get him expelled. What a brat. I can’t wait for you to go to ‘North Academy’ and become Thunder.
Chumley why are you asking for their meal cards. The only reason you’re still here is because your dad likes your friends (also go watch your friends duel!!) (never mind he showed up :) )
Nice to see Bastion again. And Alexis and him are giving the commentary. Also the fact that this is happening in front of the whole school is wild.
Crowler your so messy for bringing the paradox brothers in. (What a great nostalgia walk for the fans) but also bring in the best tag duelist in the world to beat these kids. So messy. Also they are from duelist kingdom where the rules were nonexistent so it’s nice to see them duel for real.
Chancellor I’m begging you to take a hard stance. Why are you letting the over excited 14 year old decide if he wants to duel professionals to see if he and his friend get expelled? (“These guys couldn’t beat make pattern baldness there’s no way they can beat us” Jaden you’re so rude!)
This duel is so unfair. Like these guys are pulling out 2 level 7 monsters in the 1st round.
Jaden is trying so hard to be confident but Syrus is willing to back down. He’s trying but he’s just not at this level yet. And Jaden can’t help him. He’s not allowed to share strategies with Syrus. He rushes in and makes mistakes. Yet Jaden is still encouraging.
Note: I know I dunk on Syrus a lot but he is 14 probable not even a full two months into duel academy. He shouldn’t be on Para and Dox’s level yet.it makes him the weak link in this duel. But I don’t think it’s fair to put a 14 year old in this position. Jaden is just a prodigy (in the au he was raised by the king of game and Seto Kaiba of course he’s on the paradox brother’s level) but it don’t think it’s fair to say Syrus should be there to.
Jaden getting a direct hit with his fusion special effect is great. I love the confidence “we were never out of this fight.”
Oh Syrus you’re trying. Good try trying to block their spell card. And then taking a huge hit. Also way to end the expose with Jaden looking down for the first time in the whole duel, being told to make a move or be disqualified.
Episode 11
I love the check in with all the cast and how they are feeling. Bastion saying that Syrus walked into every spell and trap. Chumley willing to give up grilled cheese for a week. Chazz and Crowler rooting for Jaden’s failure.
Love Haden raising his head immediately roasting them and telling Syrus that he is the one who is going to defeat the gate guardian. Love the confidence you have in your friend.
Syrus please have some hope or confidence. He still is trying to quit. Like Jaden bless you for being so confident and encouraging. Syrus please step it up. (I don’t remember if he grows out of his Debby downer attitude but I need him to.
Love Syrus getting his drill out. Love how well Jaden knows Syrus deck. Getting ride of Gate Guardian with a shield crush spell card. The way Jaden set him up for success.
An invincible 3800 attack point monster is wild. Love that they got an update deck and new monsters.
Way to stop the attack Jaden. Way to plan ahead. But Syrus why does your confidence disappear the moment things get hard.
Why doesn’t Jaden keep fusion gate in his deck at all times? Like I know contact fusion doesn’t the same thing but this card is for all his fusion, right? I live whenever skyscrape comes into play. Also Jaden checking in with Syrus before using his card. Jaden is doing so well trying to work together and uplift his friend.
Is Zane the only senior attending this match?
Love seeing Syrus use Powerbond for the first time.
The SHADE! From Professor Banner. “They won because of your(Crowler) superior teaching. Oh wait they are in MY dorm.”
How did they get assigned at 10 Page paper on their expulsion duel? Thats crazy.
Over all thoughts for the Au
Most of this can stay.
I can see Jadne desperately trying to keep this from Yugi and Seto. How is he suppose to explain that he’s up for expulsion because he won a shadow game in the abandon dorm? Like Atem and Yugi are already upset enough about their being a shadow game. And Seto is so close to firing the whole staff.
The whole time Jaden is trying to help build Syrus’s confidence while also desperately trying to not slip up and tell any of his family members about this duel.
But then the duel is against the Paradox brothers and he’s pumped. Yugi and Joey beat them in Duelist Kingdom and now Jaden and his Best friend beat them! Jaden’s pumped and it lines up with his weekly call to his dad and without think he tells Yugi all about the duel.
“That’s amazing Jaden.” Yugi tells him, and he’s on cloud nine. “But why were a pair of world rebound tag team duelist playing against two freshman in the worst dorm? I thought like that would be an exhibition match with seniors or teachers?” He falling right back to earth. He needs to come up with an explanation quick. But he sucks at lying and he hates lying to his dad.
“Well you see Dad it’s a funny story.” Jaden starts to explain when Seto walks in.
“Is that Jaden?” Yugi nods has his husband joins him. “Do you want to tell me why I just got an alert about the paradox brothers coming to your school to duel in an expulsion match? Who set that up? And which students were on the chopping block?” Seto is not happy. Bring in world class duelist to his school to have exhibition matches with teachers or to test seniors is one thing but to waste their time dueling students who were in the brink of expulsion is unacceptable. These are busy people and he wants an invitation from his academy to be prestigious. Not just any pro can show up. And not for silly reasons. He had thought Jaden would tell them about nonsense like this. But maybe he didn’t know until today.
Jaden has no clue he’s asking thinking it wasn’t him. To Jaden he is busted. “I was going to tell you I swear! I just didn’t want to say anything until after I won. I didn’t want to stress you out about my duel, there was no way I was losing after all. Not when getting expelled was on the line.” He thinks they already know and are dragging this out.
It’s dead silent for a second. And then. “It was your duel!” Seto yells at the same time Yugi yells “they were going to expel you?!”
They are not happy campers

fanfiction writers.
whenever i browse ao3 for any fic that those gods have created, i am aware that any and all fanfiction writers (other than myself) are a different breed of human. i have this here handy dandy list of things to expect when reading fanfiction. feel free to take a mental note. this might be a long one.
Rule 1: the ‘my house exploded, burned down and then exploded again’ rule.
Yes, it’s a bit of a meme. Those posts about fanfic writers suffering through the most absurd shit, and/or having the best moments of their lives, and then apologizing for being late. I myself realized this when I was writing and somehow managed to tear my nail from my toe, got sent to hospital because of my incredibly caring and also very anxious roommate, which lead to me discovering I had appendicitis and had surgery done. Here are some examples of better people than I am experiencing this:
This should be enough to tell you: these people are different to us mere mortals. So, I made this rule, which I have affectionately named, which states that when reading any fix, always expect the worst to happen to the author, because apparently the universe wants to stop them from writing peak.
Rule 2: Don’t be afraid to experiment.
I, myself, am obsessed with 5 fandoms: Danganronpa, Jujutsu Kaisen, Tomodachi Life(??? Is this even a fandom???), Persona and, last but not least, Dragon Ball (Sparking Zero is coming out soon and I’m ecstatic. I’ll try to avoid the brackets from now on because nobody likes reading these). So, obviously, if I were to be on AO3 at this second, I’d probably go for one of those.
And then, dear reader, I sorted by all fics from most hits to least.
Rule 2.5: It’s all fucking Harry Potter - Interlude
Yes, I just said don’t be afraid to experiment, but I’m stopping just to ask this:
Why is it all Harry Potter?
I kid you not, the top 3 fics, as of writing this, are all Harry Potter, sitewide. And then, beyond the top 3, there’s just more. And I get it - a lot of people like Harry Potter. I haven’t read it, I don’t particularly care for it, but a lot of people like it. I know this because I see it everywhere I go. I hear it everywhere I go. I walk down the street and I somehow hear Harry Potter in a conversation. I get home, look at AO3, Harry Potter. I log onto Twitter—
And as I get to this, I want to point out that I follow people that I have never seen mention Harry Potter. I follow people that have nothing to do with it. I follow Lythero. Fighting game youtuber with cute little bunnies who did the Silver Campaign recently. Great. I follow Opera GX, a web browser. Awesome. I follow OMOCAT, developer of OMORI, and I follow the OMORI account. Wonderful. This shows that I follow people who I enjoy seeing. I follow people I want on my feed, and yet they cannot give me the pleasure of limiting my feed to the accounts that I want on my feed.
—and there it is. Harry Potter. I promise you this does not motivate me to look it up.
And I hear your cries of ‘oh, newtrons! You silly fucking goose! Just exclude the fandom from your searches”, and I hear you. I do this. But I, the annoyance that I am, just feel a sense of rage when I see Harry Potter at all. It fills me with the urge to throw a cinderblock from my window. I apologize for my tangent.
Rule 2: Don’t be afraid to experiment - Continued.
And so, as I look through thousands upon thousands of Harry Potter fanfictions, I stumble upon a fanfiction for the series ‘Saiki K’. Awesome. Great. Synonyms. I click on it, knowing nothing about the original anime, and I read through a few chapters of a psychic guy having fun with his silly friends. And that is what motivates me to watch the entire anime, because it made me like the characters, and it doesn’t show up very often. So, please, if you see something you don’t see often, experiment. Read a BTS fanfiction if you want to go there. Read some OC work, because some of those are incredible. Feel free to dip your toes into the ‘every fandom and fanfiction ever’ kiddie pool. Have fun with it.
Rule 3: horny
Some people, unfortunately, are horny. Very much so, in fact. Obviously, I have nothing against NSFW, despite sounding more like a hypocrite by the second, but let me explain. I am like a toddler, in that I get incredibly upset with seeing something that I don’t like on some occasions. Yes, I am fine with NSFW, but I am only fine with NSFW until I cross the threshold of ‘okay, I’ve seen and read enough hardcore smut over lunch to the point where I can read it with a blank face. Maybe I should take a step back from the NSFW’. Then, when I cross that threshold and see NSFW, even if it isn’t the author’s intention, I still become filled with immeasurable pain at seeing anything NSFW. If you can avoid it, please, please don’t be a hypocrite and annoyance like me and prepare to see some NSFW. It makes you enjoy reading off of places like AO3 and Wattpad (i have never read off of watt pad but i hear it has many-a self-inserts).
ily, ty for reading.

A Chance Meeting.
Beep boop another yugioh gx!Axelle short fic.
Pre-scar writing ooooooooh
Chatter and laughter filled the banquet hall, accompanied by the occasional chime of overly fancy glasses holding overly expensive champagne. Or, at least, that’s what Axel assumed; her glass was filled with sparkling cider. She watched the people flitting around her, donning the most elegant, name-brand attire to contrast their faux personalities.
Axel was hardly any different; however, she was wearing a royal blue dress that barely reached her knees, and a pearl white ribbon held her hair up, matching her short Mary Janes. She stood by the wall, out of the way and, hopefully, out of sight of the other guests. She hardly wanted to be there, and it was apparent on her face that she was bored and tired after the day's prior events. However, anyone who managed to catch her eye was met with a polite smile regardless.
‘This is stupid… What’s the point of me even being here?’
Axel grumbled inwardly, taking a sip of her cider. Her father had been invited to this formal social event… Function… Gathering- Whatever it was, he was called to it, and Axel just had to come along. It’s not like she got a break from her studies and tests; she just had to make time for them while preparing to take a flight to who-gives-a-crap and make an appearance here. Axel didn’t even get to pick her outfit! At this point, she was just tired and ready to retire to the hotel room, and it wasn’t helping that she was starting to feel like someone was watching her. A glance around gave her the answer when she caught a pair of dark gray eyes staring her way.
A ways away stood a boy with raven black hair, and when she caught his eye, he quickly glanced away, joining whatever conversation he was in with the two other boys around him. Axel took a moment to observe him; he wore formal attire like all the others, but it was notably not as strict as the other men's suits. The entire outfit was different shades of gray, with a dark gray vest over a light gray collared shirt accompanied by a pair of gloves, but his collar was loose, and he didn’t have a tie. And with that brief moment of curiosity, Axel lost interest and simply stared at the bubbles in her drink until a few people dancing got a little too close to where she was lingering, forcing her to move.
“Gods above-”
She grumbled as she begrudgingly moved out into the open of the event hall, looking around for another secluded spot to hide in. As she did, she felt eyes on her once again and sensed someone approaching her from behind. She snapped her head to the side and glared from the corner of her eye, finding the boy she’d noticed staring at her earlier. He was giving her the same uninterested look from earlier, and she returned it as she turned to him fully.
“Hey,” he spoke with his voice low, vaguely gesturing to their surroundings, “this your first time to one of these?” This time, he smirked; the condescension was evident in his voice. Axel slowly looked him up and down, making him wait before responding. Rich snobs hate that based on her experience. “No, but I wish it was my last.” She retorted, sipping on her cider again. His brow raised, clearly not expecting that response. “Most people would do anything to attend just one of these,” he pointed out with annoyance yet slight curiosity. Axel shrugged, raising her brows a little, “weren’t you also just lingering in the corner, avoiding the party yourself?” she responded, gesturing to where he was standing previously, a slight smirk on her lips, “doesn’t exactly seem like you wanna be here either.”
After that, it was followed by awkward silence, although Axel had at least a drink to occupy her mouth. Until it ran dry, and she was simply holding an empty glass. As Axel looked around them, she noticed more couples starting to dance as if it were some sort of ball. She tried not to let her distaste show, but it grew as the dancing continued and slowly seemed to surround them. “Well, if this keeps up, we'll be the ones standing out.” The boy said, finally speaking again after their spell of silence. When Axel turned to him once again, he begrudgingly held his hand out to her. She stared at his hand momentarily before looking at his face, narrowing her eyes. He looked annoyed, but he held her gaze as if challenging her. Rolling her eyes, she set her empty glass on a nearby table and took his hand with a soft scoff.
The dancing was even more awkward than the silence. They had to keep pace with the music, so they moved slowly, and their arms stayed stiff to avoid getting too close to each other. “So…” Axel sighed inwardly as the rich boy tried to start another conversation. Though, it was better than dancing in uncomfortable silence. “You basically said you don’t wanna be here. Where would you rather be?”
“Literally anywhere else.”
“Specifically?”
Axel had to stop and think about her options. There were plenty of places, in bed, at a gym, hell, she’d even take her regular dueling simulations over this. “Specifically, I guess I’d rather be dueling.” The boy actually laughed at her response and gave her that same condescending smirk from earlier, “you?” He snickered, “yeah, I’m sure you’re quite the duelist.” Axel scowled a little as he continued to mock and taunt her, and she made a point of accidentally stomping on his foot. “Whoops. Guess you should pay attention to where you're putting your feet.” He glared at her scornfully, and she gave him a smug smirk in return.
The rest of their dance was full of the same snarky remarks, sneering, and the occasional “misstep” in an attempt to step on the other's foot. “You stomp like a wuss,” Axel snickered, earning another glare from the boy, but he seemed slightly amused now. “Do you have any idea who I am?”
“You forgot your own name? That’s just sad…”
“You- Tch! Think you’re funny, huh? I’ll have you know I’m the youngest son of the Princeton family! Chazz Princeton, you’d do well to remember that.”
Axel barely held back a snort of laughter at his egotistical introduction, unable to take him seriously. Was he for real? There’s no way. Chazz scowled, obviously dissatisfied with her reaction, “What the hell is so funny, huh?” He hissed, and Axel rolled her eyes, feigning ignorance, “The Princeton family, huh? Can’t say I’ve heard of them…” she denied with a shrug and a smirk, watching the arrogant rich boy get angrier and angrier with smug satisfaction. Rich snobs were so easy to piss off.
“Well, who the hell are you exactly?” Chazz snapped, his gray eyes narrowing as he scrutinized her face more than she’d like. The question itself made her stall; she wasn’t exactly planning to give out her name at this event. ‘Who says I need to answer? “Proper etiquette?” I never asked for his stupid name!’ They both slowed their, what could hardly be called a dance, to a complete stop as Axel stalled, weighing her options with increasing difficulty as Chazz simply stared her down. Dude, blink.
“I’m…” With noticeable hesitation, Axel began to introduce herself… Only to be suddenly interrupted by a shouting voice from across the banquet hall.
“Oi!”
That was her father’s voice, and she spotted him from over Chazz’s shoulder with a quick look around, waving to get her attention. He was standing amongst a few other guests, and it was evident that her suspicions of those glasses being full of champagne were spot on, based on his slightly flushed face and less than elegant behavior, yelling across the room to her like he was. “Come here, my daughter! I have someone I’d like you to meet!” She stepped back and away from Chazz at his words, pulling her hand away with a soft hum.
“Excuse me.” Axel sighed and breezed past him, obediently striding to her father's side. He set his hand on her shoulder and began boasting about her skills and abilities to his colleagues. With a polite smile, she shook their hands and otherwise remained silent while her father spoke. Her gaze drifted back to where she had previously been standing with Chazz, finding he’d returned to the group he’d been talking with beforehand.
The rest of the night was uneventful, to say the least. “Rich boy” Chazz Princeton didn’t make another appearance, and thanks to that interaction, everything else was dull in comparison.
She’d probably never see that guy again. Too bad. He was a little entertaining.

no i got things to say about gun x sword
-genuinely sad the opening did not commit to the bit of silhouettes revealed and remaining silhouettes if the characters had died. ray dying broke my heart but i think he should have remained a silhouette in the opening after his death, but at some point the anime stopped doing that and it’s a real shame bc i thought the way it initially did things was sooo fun
-didn’t expect to like ray so much but he’s a foil to van in a way that gradually became really pleasing. also him thwarting the claw’s plan, even temporarily, was super satisfying!!!
-the claw was such a good villain. trying to suss out why things don’t add up with him, what people say about him vs what he’s doing. meeting him in person, being underwhelmed, baffled, cautious and temporary insane about how things don’t make sense before coming to the conclusion that he’s actually insane so the dissonance is… intentional? he clicks in a way that’s really great to process tbh. like the good intentions he has just don’t work with his logic, he doesn’t seem to realise he killed people when he gives them hugs, and doesn’t really care if people die so long as his dream is fulfilled?
-it’s a little embarrassing to be in denial about his blatant madness, and i should have figured it out sooner, but ngl he flummoxed me for episodes bc people couldn’t hate him and apparently found him so charismatic that they joined his cause??? so i. convinced myself that there was going to be this super complicated reveal that would explain his bizarreness in a convoluted way, that would explain everything… and the simplicity of it being. he’s just insane, actually. so much more effective.
(-knives out glass onion with benoit blanc going “you’re not smart! you’re just stupid!!!” is the closest comparison i think i can get but it’s just… wasn’t satisfying for that movie, (i did like the movie, tho, with nitpicks) whereas gxs… me coming to the realisation about claw… sometimes as the audience, you doing the legwork is what makes the figuring out and making it make sense satisfying??)
-i really like that van wastes no time killing claw in the final episode. bc we’d seen something similar with ray, who also wanted revenge for the death of his wife at claw’s hands. claw talking and being dismissive. we’d seen in the previous episode, van and the claw talking, in which the claw repeatedly calling van an idiot. it was clear that they were never going to get through to each other. so van quickly cuts him in two, and honestly? so fulfilling. so satisfying.
-found myself shipping van/pricilla and joshua/wendy. ofc they didn’t end up together, but i’m super relieved van/wendy didn’t happen either and they remained platonic til the end.
-ngl van kinda inexplicably hating joshua soooo much made me laugh so much! it’s so mean and i love both characters but it’s hilarious
-i kinda do like wendy vs her brother michael and her telling him off bc she explored the planet with van and gained new experiences
-docked a point for the fan service tho
-i’m not… particularly happy about michael once he sleeps with his teammate tbh? idk how i would have written it but… uh… not like that tbh?
-honestly the story is nothing new but the characters are so fun and likeable and that matters more tbh! ngl my attention span wandered at times but when it was good, it was very very good
-but also i liked that van wasn’t solely motivated by revenge. not like ray. ray lived for nothing else but revenge, but van… as cranky as he was, still had connections to the living.

Fic Writer (of doom) Interview :)
Thank you for the tagged my beloved Stars (aka @starsmadeinheaven)
How many works do you have on AO3?
WOW UH
I apparently have 31 works on AO3. Christ, that's a lot.
21 of them are Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
4 are Original Works
3 of them of Hetalia
2 are Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's
And 1 is Yu-Gi-Oh! DM
What’s your total AO3 word count?
72,638 words apparently. Slay. I didn't think I'd have a lot of words tbh.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Oh god, I wonder.
1. Everything Stays (Hetalia GerItaPan Oneshot)
2. Sakura Petals Blossom But Love Blossoms Faster (Hetalia AmeriPan oneshot)
3. You Know I Love You Right? (Yu-Gi-Oh! DM Wishshipping Oneshot)
4. My Remedy (Hetalia ItaPan oneshot)
5. This Is Home (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5d's fic collab with my brother)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to but sometimes it feels like they don't need me to respond to them if that makes sense?? Sometimes it's just a statement more than a comment of appreciation if that makes sense???
So yeah, it depends.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don't really know tbh. I have a lot of unfinished YGO fics that in theory, are supposed to have lots of angst and possibly angsty endings but I never finished those but they don't really count ig??
I haven't really written angst but maybe Cross My Heart In Hopes To Die
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Probably almost all of them have neutral/happy endings.
Everything Stays and My Remedy
Do you write crossovers?
I don't think I've written any currently unless it's Yu-Gi-Oh! related since you can smack some of the shows together. If it isn't YGO shows being smacked together, it probably won't exist. Maybe a series AU for another series but them meeting that series' characters?
No </3
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I've gotten some hate on my Anikishipping fics but tbh idc anymore. I'll write whatever makes me happy and if people have a problem with that, they can suck my dick. Like idk what else to say.
If you don't like it, go write something else then.
Before going onto AO3, I was on Wattpad and we ALL know how THAT must have gone.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I write smut but I rarely ever post it and if I do, it's anon LMAO.
I just feel like it's too awkward and I'm just scared people are gonna judge me LOL.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I wouldn't know and I SURE hope not.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nah. I'm not that famous yet.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
This Is Home is a fic I'm writing with my brother. It's kind of on a hiatus cause of life and cause of the YGO fandom break we're both taking. We'll talk it out and see if we can continue it.
I'm actually gonna hopefully work on new micronation related works with other lads so I'm SUPER excited for that!!!
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Hetalia: GerItaPan and MolSeb.
DM: Wishshipping
GX: Anikishipping
5D'S: Toolshipping
Zexal: Aztecshipping
Arc-V: Candyshipping
Vrains: Respectfulshipping
Sevens: Moonlightroadshipping
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I had a Spamano/ItaPan/MolSeb werewolf fic that I was gonna do but I gave the fic away to a moot to write instead since I lost interest in it and didn't want to write anymore.
What are your writing strengths?
Tbh, I don't know. Probably internal dialogue and emotions. I like writing arguments and deep conversations cause it's so fun playing around with people's emotions <33
What are your writing weaknesses?
DESCRIPTIONS AND USING FANCY WORDS.
I don't wanna sound repetitive with words but god, I need to work on having a bigger vocabulary.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I try to use it in fics considering I'm in the Hetalia fandom but I do try to add translations at the bottom/on the notes if it's something that most people wouldn't know by now or more complicated items. I try to not use it cause I don't want to be that person with awful Google Translate or sucky translation app language errors but yk, sometimes duty calls.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Probably Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal or Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V if I'm being honest. I don't remember y'all. It's been a SECOND.
What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I wanna write Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains content but the show is so SLOW and BORING for me but I really LOVE Spectre and I would love to maybe write some Respectfulshipping.
I'd also love to write some Gakuto fics for Sevens cause they did his character SO WRONG it's makes me SO MAD.
For Hetalia, I'm not really sure tbh.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
For YGO, maybe Imaginary Friend (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Anikishipping oneshot)
For Hetalia, it's definitely gotta be My Remedy
I tag these lads (you don't have to do them if you don't want to)
@stardust-revolver @starfishes-and-watercolors @apalonespinifera
This concludes my ask <3
(I'm going to be honest, most of the fics I mentioned here I kind of hate now but I left to see any possible growth or progress when I work on new stuff. I only really like my more recent content but we won't go into that <3)

ARC-V and your choice of 12, 14 or both?
Thanks for the ask!
12.what attracted me into checking it out.
I was already invested in YGO by the time I started Arc V, so the pool of options was, like, 8 shows. The reason I gravitated to Arc V above all is, to absolutely nobody's surprise, my favourite trope family being 'sharing a body' and my favourite member of that trope family being 'antagonistic possession'.
I want people to get possessed. I want them to commit grievous crimes and angst about it. I want them to have a hype mind battle where the hero beats the demon with the power of friendship. Arc V is 2/3, that's a win in my book.
...I should watch GX season three but it's just hard to get through what happens to the og supporting characters.
14.if I think the largest majority of fics I crave for it are fix-its, nobody-dies-everybody-lives, fluffy fics of my OTP, pining fics for my OTP, or plot heavy Gen stories?
I tend to enjoy plot heavy gen fics with a good dose of angst (note, angst tolerance is apparently freakish), however, if there's enough plot and angst to go round, I can handle some shipping.
As for what goes on in those fics, I'm pretty partial to Aus. I love seeing what people decide to keep and drop, love seeing how they translate what they keep into new settings, love the worldbuilding, love the interesting conflicts, and new forms of conflict resolution. Insert au gold pun here.
(I steer away from smut or romance heavy fics because, being both sex and romance-repulsed, I have to skip most of them. It's shameful because they're all probably rly good lol. Curse you acearo brain/joking)
Thanks again for the ask!

Did they call me Uncle Zhou?, WOH Episode 34. Preparations for Gu Xiang's wedding in Ghost Valley are almost complete. WKX together with ZZS are walking around looking at these preparations. They are both very happy. ZZS is aware that he may die soon, but he doesn't show it, he doesn't want to spoil the joyful moment of the young couple and WKX himself. That's why he does what he can do best, putting on a mask of a cheerful man. Or maybe it's not a mask, maybe ZZS is really enjoying the upcoming event. He can even joke and chat with GX. It must be admitted that ZZS has a sharp tongue, it can cut off the other person in a conversation well. ZZS is not happy that everyone calls him uncle, it makes him feel old, so he proposes to call him brother. GX replies that WKX does not allow it. This joyful conversation between ZZS and GX is such a gem, in general, the dialogues of all the characters in this scene are sensational. WKX is also happy, he feels like a father getting his daughter married. ZZS, despite the joy, maybe not even apparent, needs a moment for himself, leaves the other people and decides to look around the valley. Was that an excuse for him to think about what to do next? Did he really want to know the secrets of the valley? ZZS is a complicated person, sometimes it's hard to understand his motives, and sometimes his motives are as clear as the sun. The beautiful thing about this scene is how the colors of the outfits of both men were chosen. WKX wears red - a color that is associated with blood, and ZZS wears blue robes that somewhat resemble the color they wore when he was the leader Window od Heaven. Both colors of the robes are so intense that you can't take your eyes off them. They show the beauty of both characters. I'm not surprised that both men in these robes ended up on a promotional poster. These robes are a real wonder. ZZH and GJ acted like real parents to both GX and ZCL in this scene. They were serious, firm, but they knew when to approach children gently. It was such a beautiful happy moment for everyone. However, no one expected how the wedding ceremony would end

What is your take on DSOD and how why did it suck so much?
Do you think 4KIDS didn't dub GX and 5d's because of reasons that aren't lawsuits or bad rattins?
Grammer Nazi Police when? LOL XD
Nostalgia Bait Gone Wrong!
This movie was made to cash in on my childhood, and it failed miserably since I outgrew Duel Monsters years ago.Today I decided to review a movie that I've had a visual loathing problem with since its inception back in 2016. I need to go into more depth because I can't simply ignore it.I have finally decided to review Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions and its mixed reception at the box office. There's a lot to talk about with this movie, and I hope I can cover it all since MyAnimeList has a limit on the amount of text and characters I can use.I am also going to explain two major topics. One is about production problems and nepotism, and the other is about reception and box office gross.
Oh god, this movie is going to suck, isn't it? Oh, wait. It is!
In The End It has to be this way: To me, Dark Side of Dimensions will always be the movie that killed my interest in Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, despite it being the third movie primarily focused on Duel Monsters. Let's delve into a bit of history regarding the Yu-Gi-Oh! movies. Firstly, there was the Toei Yu-Gi-Oh! movie from the late 90s, which was never released on DVD or Blu-ray, either because it was non-canon to the story or simply never considered canon. It's never been explained why it wasn't released on DVD. Then, in the early 2000s, we got the first movie for the Gallop Yu-Gi-Oh! series, Pyramid of Light, which received mixed reception. In its defense, it was created to rival Pokémon movies, but unfortunately, it didn't succeed. This led to the fandom's first uproar, with some blaming Takahashi for it. However, Takahashi wasn't responsible for it; it was actually 4KIDS who commissioned it from Japan. It's surprising that people are still misinformed about this in 2024. Next, we had Bonds Beyond Time, which was the only good movie in my opinion. And then, we have this disaster I'm reviewing.
Two Birds and One Stone Troupe: Now, let's delve into two topics I want to cover simultaneously: Animation and Directing. I'm going to be quite salty about this one. You see, one of my pet peeves is the apparent nepotism and the overemphasis on pretty colors and stereotyping in this movie, which I strongly oppose. This isn't me being biased or offering subjective criticism; I detest the prioritization of 'pretty colors' over substance. In today's media landscape, there's a tendency to mock older shows for not being 'flashy action,' 'self-inserted,' or 'well-made.' People often jump on the bandwagon and promote fake agendas like 'nepotism,' which is another problem I need to address. You cannot judge a movie solely based on animation. This isn't just the recurring issue with My Hero Academia and its animation; it's a problem I like to call the Yugioh Zexal fiasco.Animation production is expensive and often costs way too much. Despite how much money a show or movie makes, its value is ultimately determined by its reception at the box office. Personally, I disliked My Hero Academia because its cinematic animation received more positive reviews than its main series did. It felt like MHA was using the movies as a platform to showcase better fights because the main series itself seemed lazy and uninteresting. So, what does this have to do with the review? Well, people tend to be aggressive towards the media and often blame anime studios for being outdated or lazy. Studio Gallop was never a mainstream studio nor was it financially stable. The Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and movies had above-average production quality before the Zexal era, but then it shifted towards flashy visuals and over-the-top animation, which I found to be a mishap of nonsense. In fact, this movie is why I've disliked its production since 2014 because Konami seemed to be on a death wish to produce another movie that would likely result in financial losses. The movie was primarily focused on impressing the audience, trying to position itself as a 'savior,' but it ultimately failed miserably since people could see the excessive cost of production. The biggest problem with the movie lies in its direction, which was mediocre and poorly choreographed. To make matters worse, it was helmed by the same director I loathe, Satoshi Kuwabara. His tendency for poorly paced animation hiccups makes him a prime example of how not to hire a good director. Kuwabara comes off as lazy and immature in his approach to production. However, Yu-Gi-Oh! fans seem to get upset when his work is criticized, even though it's riddled with flaws. People often only point out issues with localization, blaming the wrong sources. But in reality, the direction of the movie was mediocre at best. He was responsible for the previous screw-up known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal and its mixed reception in the West due to the disaster of the anime. He was in charge of that series from day one. What I found particularly strange is that he never gave interviews or tried to explain what was even happening in the show. He appeared mostly lazy and inconsistent, in my opinion.
Nepotism Is as it's peak: This section is about Takahashi, who didn't understand his own logic in the first place. While people defended the movie for its flashy animation and nostalgia bait, Takahashi received universal criticism because he is solely at fault for this movie's failure. In the 2010s, people didn't blame him enough for Zexal, but he was blamed for this movie being a total disaster. It focused on stereotypes, dehumanizing the first Yu-Gi-Oh! show by portraying the characters as nothing more than jerks, and in the process, proving the critics right. In fact, this movie catered to those wanting another political card game war, leading to many people being divided due to his ego once again being involved.
Nepotism characterized the movie, with character assassination and story points being dropped in favor of it being a love letter to Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 6 that never happened. This whole movie is just Pyramid of Light recreated with dumb animation borrowed from Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V's production, solely to improve the movie and divide the fans once again. He tried to cover the movie's tracks under the rug because he couldn't take the fact that he knew personally if he stole animation or writing budgets from another ongoing Yu-Gi-Oh! project, it would lead to fandom wars.
Many Yu-Gi-Oh! fans know that he screwed up big time and never apologized for the movie's faults. People are split because of Takahashi's opinions and his ego regarding how Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal turned out to be a disaster, as he was involved in that series but left at some point to start early production on Dark Side of Dimensions. Many fans say that Takahashi wasn't very involved with the series, but for reasons he doesn't want to take part in a show. The reason for this is that Takahashi has an ego that lets him anger the fandom because the story wasn't in favor of anything but solely overpowering the show's credibility and creating a dumpster fire, just like how Zexal became that way.In short, he is the reason why Yu-Gi-Oh! is doomed. He can't seem to improve the story and let it progress, as his original anime, Duel Monsters, was never fully adapted. The manga was left with plot holes and a lack of depth due to arcs being cut too soon. In short, Yu-Gi-Oh! was doomed because any show past 5D's became unlikable and disrespected. This man wanted to push an agenda, much like how Zexal was supposed to be Duel Monsters 2.0.
We hated ARC-V for this? That brings me to the production itself, which was undermined by his lackeys and others who tried to make this movie happen. The movie was made sometime between 2014 and 2016, and it's largely at fault for stealing the budget from shows like Arc-V. I'm not one to just jump on the bandwagon and start supporting a movie because someone told me to. There is no movie in the whole universe I have ever been hyped about just because many people tell me to support its production rather than focusing on the actual story and characters.Studio Gallop was never a mainstream studio like Studio Mappa or Studio Bones. Gallop was a studio meant to handle shows made for children, not mainstream abominations that performed terribly at the box office. These movies were universally panned because their stories were either handled poorly in the manga or never completed. The studio often misled their fandom, promising that the movies would be gold standards, but this was a lie. The movies were more meant to be tie-ins rather than delivering what the fandom demanded.
The Box Office Disaster The movie was a box office disaster, failing to recoup its production costs and falling short of expectations. Despite the hype and nostalgia surrounding the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, The Dark Side of Dimensions couldn't draw in enough viewers to be profitable. This was partly due to the overly ambitious budget that prioritized flashy animation over a coherent and engaging story. Fans were left disappointed, and critics panned the movie for its lack of depth and substance, leading to its poor performance at the box office.
The Duels The duels, which should have been the highlight of the movie, were also a letdown. They were poorly choreographed and lacked the strategic depth that fans loved in the original series. Instead of thrilling, intellectually stimulating matches, the duels in The Dark Side of Dimensions felt rushed and overly reliant on flashy visuals. This focus on style over substance left many fans feeling cheated. The duels failed to capture the essence of what made Yu-Gi-Oh! great in the first place, ultimately contributing to the overall disappointment with the movie.
Overall The movie is just nostalgia bait 101. You can't tell me that many people have a bias for it just because of the animation and pretty colors. In fact, people hated this movie because it was made with money taken from another project, which left their fandom unhappy. If you tell me that I'm being negative because I prefer 5D's, which was universally better than this movie, it's only because you refused to watch 5D's. I'm starting to believe that Konami never planned for this movie; it was a last-second attempt to make money.
I give the the movie a 2/10
Question 2:
The lack of dubs for 5D's and GX is both the fault of 4Kids. The way it was handled years ago reflects how today’s society is afraid to speak the truth about it. I believe it’s all American bullshit politics. There is a reason why i prefer subs since we never got neither fully released on DVD.

Episode 27.
The episode starts with Lua, and Ruka's segment for the episode's card. This will last until the end of Dark Signers.
We see Rally, and co. watching the TV, apparently the tablet I mentioned was a flatscreen TV.
Carly, and Angela are introduced.
Audience is divided between those who praise Yusei, and who dislike him.
Rex states the stars will hitotsu ni.
Carly asks her Fortune Fairy Deck. This Deck is originally composed of Normal Monsters with fortune telling text, but in their OCG versions, they will be upgraded to Effect Monsters with draw effects similar to Danger! archetype, but for Spellcasters, so they can be used in conjuction with Fortune Ladies.
Since the journalists couldn't get much out of Yusei, or Rex, they move towards Jack.
Carly gets chastised by her Chief, makes a vague comment about people Dueling in the streets, and has her card engine stopped.
We cut to Rutger, Demack, and Kiryu, who are planning something.
Rutger states it has been 5000 years, and sends out two spiders.
We cut to Yanagi, who draws the completed Crimson Dragon symbol from memory. Yusei sees the tail.
Yanagi explains the issue. Himuro wonders where the fifth Signer is.
Lua jokingly tries to see if he has any birthmark on his body.
Ruka faints briefly.
Journalists fail to reach to Jack, but Carly finds out he is hospitalised.
Dark Signers attempt to gain followers. After that, we see Dick Pitt with Uru's symbol. His VA will become IV's VA in ZEXAL, and Reiji's VA in ARC-V.
Yusei assumes Uru's symbol is a Signer Mark.
Dick wants a Dark Duel, similar to DM-GX.
As they Duel, Carly finds out their Duel.
During the Dark Synchro sequence, there is a unique chant, Yusei notes Level Stars have gone dark, which ties into Rex's, and Rutger's statements.
Episode ends as Carly reaches to the Dark Duel, and Frozen Fitzgerald is on the field.
*****
In the earlier half of 5D's, there is the symbolism of Level Stars being connected to astrology, which comes from GX Season 3 (most of the writers here previously worked there). There it was connected to Ancient Greek astrology, here it is connected to the astrology of Andean Civilizations.

Yeah this was so hard to choose-
It hurt my soul cause of my Yu-Gi-Oh GX au is with all three of them (all of them I mean).
So f**k me if depression Jaden’s my best friend.
He’s hyped me up in my mind for the last few days while I’m doing midterms for college.
Jaden has a way of being a leader without being too overwhelming or too strict.
And he’s a good friend to those he cares about and an amazing partner to Jesse.
This is for my au. That statement may or may not apply to the character in the anime and bonds beyond time movie.
Let me be okay?
(Bonds beyond time spoilers)
Rant incoming… in 3… 2… 1.
I watched the bonds beyond time movie last weekend after 5-6 years ago since the last time I watched it.
And oh my god… the dialogue they gave Jaden was laughably bad but more like infuriating.
But not as infuriating as the dialogue they gave Yugi, Yusei and Jaden when they responded to Paradox after he told them he’s from the future.
Here’s an example:
Paradox: I’m from the future.
Yusei: What’s that supposed to mean?
Jaden: Don’t listen to him, dude. He’s just trying to mess with your head.
Yugi: We don’t give a shit about your backstory.
(Note: Yugi doesn’t actually swear the movie- it’s a shitpost example)
Ok y’all hear how bad that was?
Almost all the dialogue is like that in the movie.
There’s only a few good pieces of dialogue.
I thought back then it was funny as a kid but then as a pre-teen I thought the lines weren’t that bad.
But now as a teenager I realize how f**king awful the dialogue was… especially for Jaden and Yugi.
I got hyped over all the cool parkour stuff Jaden was doing at the beginning and then his meeting with Yusei.
And that moment apparently is what people started shipping those two over…
I couldn’t ship it nor could I see star shipping in the movie.
I didn’t back then, I don’t now.
I do not see the chemistry between Jaden and Yusei. All I see in a friendship and those two being best buds.
That’s just me okay. Take that as you will.
But that’s how I saw it throughout the whole movie.
Even back then I just thought Jaden and Yusei were interesting friends despite how long I’ve been on the internet as a kid shipping people in Yu-Gi-Oh.
(Don’t ask how I got early access to the internet and what else I watched besides fnaf and Yu-Gi-Oh)
Anyways rewatching the movie after a long time, the story was crazy and didn’t make sense.
Nor did the dialogue but I love it still.
You know why? Because Bonds Beyond Time is the only Yu-Gi-Oh movie that caught my heart as a kid and that I grew up watching first.
And despite not everything in the movie aging well, it’s cool because of the chaos and the characters in it for a 50 minute movie.
Though when I was younger, I wished for it to be longer-
The crossover of the first 3 Yu-Gi-Oh protagonists in one movie will always and forever be iconic to me than any other crossover I’ve seen.
I hope that the other Yu-Gi-Oh protagonists in the future will all collab in one movie. But that’s only a dream that could only happen on YouTube as a fan made project and not as an official project-
As much I wish Konami would do this.
I have some hope because I’ve read somewhere that there might be another Yu-Gi-Oh movie.
I don’t know if Yugioh everything (a YouTube channel about Yu-Gi-Oh) is a reliable source for this information.
But if there is another movie in development… I want either one of two things.
1) A Yu-Gi-Oh GX movie.
2) A Bonds beyond time movie pt.2 but called Bonds beyond dimensions featuring Yuma, Yuya, and Yusaku or any other Yu-Gi-Oh protagonists.
Wouldn’t it be cool? It’s nice to dream about it or even imagine it.
Since the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh, Kazuki Takahashi, passed away a year ago, we as a fandom (Yu-Gi-Oh fandom) have no idea what will happen next with the franchise or what Konami will do going forward.
I only hope that my second favorite franchise continues to evolve but doesn’t change too much that it loses its heart.
And what I mean by its heart, I mean the very thing made Yu-Gi-Oh stand out.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk lol.
Best Jaden Yuki Poll
Today's my birthday!! so I'm making a poll of my favourite character, and the fandom's favourite protagonist (See the first poll on this blog): Jaden/Judai Yuki

the Seto/Mokuba and Ryo/sho parallels are pretty clear but also they’re like. kind of fucked up sibling relationships in different ways:
like the kaibas are in this weird little bubble where they only have each other and would kill or die for each other, and it opens the door for seto to sometimes do things that hurt mokuba and mokuba won’t call him on it because he has no one else to turn to but at the end of the day Seto does care about his brother and doesn’t want to hurt him if he can help it.
the marufujis are never that close. i think part of it is that theyre closer in age and also Not Orphans so ryo never has to be a caretaker to sho, if he’s helping his brother it’s always out of genuine care for him and not out of a need for survival—not that Seto doesn’t genuinely care about Mokuba but if he wasnt there for his brother mokuba would have no one else. if/when ryo stops being there for sho, sho has other people to take care of him: apparently this is a dub-only line but when ryo dies he tells Juudai that he should take on being an older brother to sho. theyre not in the same bubble that the Kaibas have.
on the one hand ryo does care about his brother, even if the way he shows it can seem kind of cold: the whole thing with power bond shows that he genuinely does want sho to be a better Duelist, and even if sho interprets it as him being mean it’s an example of ryo trying to do what’s best for his brother. but also as ryo starts to spiral he really does start to mistreat his brother in ways that i think seto would find appalling.
its important to not lose sight of the fact that ryo’s behaviour in s2 and onward is the behaviour of someone in pretty serious mental crisis. it’s not an excuse for what he does to sho, but it’s an explanation. he’s not doing what he does to be needlessly cruel, he’s doing it because he doesn’t see any other path. it’s a really shitty place to be in mentally, and he ends up hurting both himself and his brother.
that being said, ryo does directly hurt sho, which is something seto doesn’t and wouldn’t do. the most obvious example is the shock collar duel, but what I find a bit more subtly fucked up is that sho spends most of the series watching his brother kill himself, between urging him to stop using the shock devices during their duel, watching him literally die during his duel with yubel, and then seeing him push himself to near death again in his duel with the jinzo guy. when sho is in the darkness, it’s shown that one of the things he fears the most is coming home to find his brother dead. yes, it’s not necessarily ryo’s fault that he’s so self destructive, but it HURTS sho to watch his brother go through that. he genuinely does love his brother, and watching his brother hurt himself and nearly kill himself HURTS.
but also, if we take DSOD into account, seto does the same thing. he’s so caught up in his grief over Atem that he uses an untested machine to travel to the afterlife to see him. mokuba is aware that this could have meant losing his brother forever, and he encourages Seto not to go through with it, but Seto is too stuck in his own grief to consider what he’s doing to his brother. if we consider this to be the same canon as GX, Seto does end up okay in the end, but that doesn’t mean Mokuba didn’t have to see his brother nearly kill himself.
so basically: being a baby brother in a yugioh series fucking sucks and being a big brother in a yugioh series makes you sooo mentally ill

Sooo... A dear friend of mine has bought it to my attention that I've been mentioned in a proshipper block list.
Which confused me because I was surprised that people had such strong negative opinions on the ship between Yugioh GX characters, Zane Truesdale or Ryo Marufuji and Aster or Edo Phoenix.
Because their ship name is proshipping, as in both are pro dualists. And for some reason Yugioh fans just add shipping to the end of ship names.
(Like I thought the percebeth fans would've gotten me first back when I talked about that but apparently not. Not to say they haven't come for me before, not here anyhow tho that's another story.)
Buttt I have learned that's not what most people know the term to be about.... Was quite the surprise to me.
And so I want to clarify that I really don't care what people ship. I wish I had the mental energy but I don't. If I ever see someone shipping something that does make me uncomfortable or I personally don't agree with because to me it's gross.
I just avoid it.,
I'm in a lot of "toxic fandoms" I've heard of a lot of werid shit... Like I don't like knowing there are people out their that ship Todoroki and Endeavour, but they are. And at the end of the day they are fictional characters, I ain't promoting that shit I think it's hella nasty but if the Internet has taught me anything people will do what people do.
I'd rather just try and pretend it ain't there and stick to the part of the fandom I enjoy and doesn't make me feel uncomfortable. I've found my safe fandom spaces and I ain't leaving.
So for reference anytime I talk about proshipping I'm talking about these 2 idiots.

do you have any gx rivalshipping hcs!! im super curious on your take of them :]
When I saw this ask my immediate reaction was thinking: "Yes, I have an excuse to talk about gx rivalshipping, YES."
So yeah. I love this ship a lot, like a whole damn lot and it's a little hard to explain why, especially when gx has so many open possibilities for romances involving Judai. By which I mean two, really, and Manjoume is not one of them (sadly for me). I am referring to Yubel and Johan, by the way, I refuse to acknowledge Asuka as a love interest.
I'll start off with a bit of fluff headcanons?
Manjoume thinks Winged Kuriboh is really cute and that its friendly and fluffy appearance screams Judai, in a way. But he will never admit it because of what that might imply for him and the Ojamas.
Manjoume is fueled by caffeine and monster, he only really starts to recognise how nice it can be to have a meal because of how much Judai enjoys his food. He tries to sit at the table with him with dumb excuses.
Judai feels a bit guilty for how his actions impacted Manjoume's life, but Manjoume generally tells him that it's fine, it's better this way, that he's never this happy, that the only reason why Judai should maybe feel bad about it is because of his tendency to get overly invested in other people's problems and getting hurt in the process. Judai responds with bear hugs.
Manjoume brags about Judai a lot, actually. "Oh you think that's cool? One time Judai managed to do a backflip, you loser." "Slifer reds suck, but they do have redeeming qualities, by which I mean one of them is actually good."
Judai likes to indulge himself in the thought that he's Manjoume's most trusted, that he's the only one who could ever be allowed to have that many incriminating pictures of him. Because Judai just loves taking candid pictures of Manjoume. He thinks he looks and and cool in every situation, so yeah. A part of him does it because he has an inexplicable fear of forgetting people and the way they look, but he just can't say why that is.
They hang out in silence a lot, but once they start talking they just never stop. You'll find them on the beach at 3 am with a smiling Manjoume listening to Judai go on about how crazy it is that you can fry food in so many different ways and how he once caught a butterfly as a kid and named it Kujaku.
They share their music a lot, so Manjoume's tastes switch from just emo to fast paced rap and the weirdly happy sounding songs about very morbid things Judai listens to (plus emo). Judai starts to enjoy a bit of angry screaming into microphones thanks to Jun. Do they sing along like idiots as they share earphones? Yes. Is Manjoume mesmerised by Judai's singing voice? Also yes.
Judai loves hiking and sometimes invites Manjoume, but because he's a lot weaker and has less stamina, they take it slow. Manjoume keeps cursing himself for being slow and dead weight, but Judai is just happy to have a companion. Admittedly, going slower makes the walks better as he has the time to enjoy the scenery properly. He never teases Jun about his lack of physical training.
Now... I wanted to talk about my general view on the ship, plus headcanons I guess, but this is going to be EVEN LONGER (you are getting more than you asked for, your fault for enabling me, really). For the sake of the sanity of mobile users, I'm adding a cut so nobody has to unwillingly scroll through endless text.
On to the the juice, then. My thoughts on the ship. Manjoume and Judai are, of course, the rivals of the series and, if my thoughts on rivalry weren't clear enough, I am one of those people. It's just really romantic to me. What is very interesting about the two of them specifically is that they are polar opposites in the way the reason why they play, throughout the whole series. Hell, their views end up getting reversed completely: Manjoume goes from "if I don't win I'm gonna have a breakdown breakdown" to "losing is ok, as long as I enjoy the game and am true to myself", while Judai does the 180 from "I really just love playing cards with my friends, who cares about the outcome, it's fun" to "I have card game related trauma, nobody speak to me, games are only an excuse to assert a sort of power scale and honestly fuck that".
Manjoume is sort of the only person in the 'friend group' (he's never actually part of it, sadly, literally only Judai and Fubuki like him) to not idolise Judai, not explicitly. He clearly has an admiration for Judai from the beginning, but he is adamant on expressing it as hatred towards for being better than him. A part of me feels that a lot of his superior act is meant to try and fool himself and Jaden into thinking that he's a worthy rival, because I know for a fact that Manjoume doesn't believe that. He wants it to be true, yes.
What I am trying to get at is that Judai is probably a little confused by the fact that Manjoume doesn't drool all over him like the rest of the school does, but it soon becomes a crutch. Judai is under a lot of pressure because he is the hero who will save everyone and people like to remind him of how much they count on him. Manjoume is in it for Judai. He wants to be acknowledged by him, he wants his recognition and his attention, but he never asks for help or expects Judai to fix his problems for him. Judai is probably thankful for that.
Manjoume is also really scared of being left behind and cast aside as soon as he stops being useful and that's exactly what the writers do to him!!! hooray!, but Judai keeps insisting that he's not a bad guy, that he's fun to be around, that he's competent. Manjoume doesn't really believe all that that much, but Jaden keeps playing him despite his repeated losses and to Jun that's the equivalent of someone kissing his tears away. Manjoume only learns to accept his losses and shortcomings because Judai did it for him first.
So basically Manjoume is the only one who fully sees Judai as a person, while Judai is the only one who is really willing to look past his pretentious facade. I fully believe that Judai was relieved to learn that Manjoume was not just a perfect boy with perfect manners, by the way. They both just love to learn about every imperfection that the other has and silently thinking that they just add to the beauty of the other's character. Will they tease eachother about it? Fuck yes. Do they feel awful when the other tries to fix something about themselves because they pointed it out? Also fuck yes.
They are in a dumb competition against themselves to be better in order to earn the right to be friends with eachother, but because they are fucking dumb they never actually communicate (until they do), so for a long time it's endless pining that is definitely not gay because admittedly Judai just doesn't think that dating is a thing, while Manjoume is straight™, really straight. He has never liked a boy in his life, he's so very fucking straight, I swear.
So Manjoume is a bisexual disaster (and in my headcanon he prefers boys, actually, the Asuka incident is the biggest example of denial™ ever. He prefers Fubuki, fight me over this). The problem is that he never really considered he might be crushing on Judai, but at the same time admitting to maybe liking boys too means that there was more to wanting to stay at DA, to hanging out with Judai's crew despite their mutual dislike, to his continuous playful headlocks and ear pulling. To add onto that, there is probably a certain amount of guilt over having betrayed that bond with Judai by trying to throw away his cards and everything. Judai, on the other hand... is confused at how bothered he is by the public declarations of love, because Manjoume is his rival and rivals are supposed to focus on eachother, not on some girl, no matter how good said girl is at card games.
So maybe they are a bit gay for eachother. And maybe they just want excuses to be together as much as possible. And it's really just the vibe of highschool romance between two people who don't want to admit to caring for one another on a deeper level, but are also weirdly possessive of eachother for no apparent reason. And I think I'll stop here with my gay retelling, but really if you look at the two of them you do see that they do a lot for eachother's characters. It's kind of beautiful, really. They are the two socially inept characters who find comfort in someone being just like them and understanding them as they change and grow up.
I have a lot to say about how that changes once the transfer students come in, but I think I've bored everyone for long enough- as in nobody will read this lol. That's ok. I thank you again for the ask and for allowing me to gush about this ship that is so close to my heart. If anyone ever wants to talk about them, just. Do. Break into my house at night and I still won't mind, I just want to talk about them.
#shut me up#i'm so sorry#i started and i couldn't stop#i also didn't want to be disappointing by giving an half-assed response#i've thought about this ask all night#i still improvised the whole thing and i'm sure you can tell#yugioh#ygo#yugioh gx#ygo gx#gx rivalshipping#manjoume jun#jun manjoume#chazz princeton#yuki judai#judai yuki#jaden yuki
