the difference bt researching my parents' family history is truly so wild bc my dad was a first generation high school and college/graduate student and his family was entirely farmers from the same three counties in southern redacted state and my mom’s side of the family is from the northeast and emigrated from scotland/ireland/germany and were all well educated and wealthier
