Chicago PD Fanfic: Al, Hank & Trudy

Summary: Every year Trudy's forced to listen to Hank and Alvin's longest ongoing debate.

Notes: This is based solely on the fact that Jason Beghe birthday is March 12th, 1960 and Elias Koteas is March 11th, 1961. While Amy Morton's birthday is April 3rd, 1959.

Meaning she's the oldest and Al the youngest. So what if those birthdays and age order, was the same for the characters? So here it is lol, and Al being a shit for 378 words.

Like most things in Trudy’s life, her friends had been able to turn it into something bigger. God why couldn’t Trudy find some friends who shared more than one brain cell between them? Was that too much to ask?

Hank and Alvin’s biggest ongoing debate, or technicality, was always worse today. That was because today was Alvin’s birthday. Tomorrow was Hank’s. A year apart. Well 364 days technically. Like Alvin liked to constantly remind people. 

“I can’t believe you're 50 already, Alvin. You're getting old”. Trudy teased, unable to resist the opportunity. 

They were all at Hank’s, gathered in his living room with beers and a cake Trudy had brought over, between them. They had been out for dinner earlier to celebrate both Hank and Alvin's birthdays and had come here after. 

“You're older than me”. Alvin protested sticking his tongue out childishly at Trudy before turning towards Hank with a smirk, that had never bought anything good before. 

“See now I’m exactly as old as you are”. Alvin stated. He made this point every year. Hank always said he was a year older when that wasn’t true and Alvin liked proving Hank wrong whenever the opportunity presented itself. 

“Yeah…for three more hours, Olinsky. I’m still older”. Hank replied matter of factly and Trudy let out a deep sigh as she sipped her beer and leaned back to watch the show unfolding in front of her. 

“But today we are the same age. Because I’m not a year younger than you are”. Alvin responded, still smirking. 

“I’m born March 12th, 62 and you're March 11th, 63. That’s practically a year. And, I was born in the early morning and you late at night. What do you want me to say, that I’m 364 days and twenty hours older than you?” Hank asked sarcastically. 

“Just saying that it’s not a year”. 

“You're ridiculous”. Hank said back with a roll of his eyes as he grabbed Alvin, putting him in a headlock. 

Trudy just watched rolling her eyes, but she couldn’t help but watch with a fond expression as Alvin tried to get out of Hank’s hold while Hank continued to tease him. Like it or not these morons were her brothers and apparently Trudy was stuck with them.

Knowledge is power.

Aqua leaned against the counter, bored out of her mind. Never a good sign when, three hours into an 8 hour shift, one has nothing left to do.

Other than wait on the late night customers, of which there was… one.

That Purple guy who’s been coming in with Mr. King. The one who would be about Gold’s age if Gold hadn’t…

When had he come in? And it was interesting that he was alone for once. That was a first.

He approached the counter with a bag of chips and a bottle of one of those fancy lemonades.

“Good evening, thank you for shopping at Wants, did you find everything you were looking for tonight?” She put on her customer service voice and bright smile.

“Not quite.”

Oh please, oh please don’t hit on me…

“I wanted to know a little bit more about King, if you had the time.”

She narrowed her eyes, “What did you want to know?”

“Just… stuff, I guess. He doesn’t talk much about himself, or his life before he met me and I guess I’m just curious as to why.”

“And why are you asking me?”

“You are literally the only other person he really mentions or talks about from before. Does he not have other friends?”

“I mean, he might’ve had some work friends, but Mr. King’s always been a loner.”

“So is King his last name then?”

“He doesn’t have a last name, I don’t think. Gold didn’t have one so I assume Mr. King probably doesn’t either.”

“So what’s with the formality?” He opened up his chips as he leaned against the opposite side of the counter.

“I’ve known him since I was in diapers, but I guess it started when I went to grade school and I thought Mr, Ms and Mx were how all kids referred to adults that weren’t their parents, I guess it just stuck,” She sighed as she realized he’d gotten her talking against her better judgement.

“Was there ever any Ms, Mx or Mr King the second?”

“Haha, he’s been single for as long as I’ve known him.”

“So then where did Gold come from?”

“He had a partner before I was born, apparently she died giving birth to him. I’m not surprised he wouldn’t really mention that, technically I only know it because my mom told me.”

“…” Purple’s expression went dark for a moment before he opened up his lemonade, “You were one of Gold’s friends, right? What was he like?”

“I was his best friend. He was… funny and charming, everyone at school loved him. He was always helping people and was always willing to go the extra mile for someone. But he was also very… reckless and impulsive. I had to talk him out of a lot of dangerous things growing up.”

“When’s his birthday?”

“King’s or Gold’s?”

“Both, I guess.”

“Uh, Mr. King’s birthday is April 3rd, and Gold’s was… December 3rd.”

“Huh, both on the third of the month, what a coincidence.”

“Yeah, I probably wouldn’t have remembered Mr. King’s if it weren’t for that. I don’t think he ever really celebrated it.”

“…And the anniversary of Gold’s accident?”

“Oh, that’s coming right up, on the 21st.”

“Ah, that explains that then,” Purple said cryptically, crumpling up the empty chip bag and straightening up to go.

“Wait! It’s my turn to ask you a few questions.”

“I don’t remember agreeing to that,” Purple shrugged, draining the last of his lemonade and tossing the bottle in the bin.

“…How did you meet Mr. King?”

Purple looked at her thoughtfully as he held the door open, debating what to say, if he should even say anything at all. Her eyebrows were furrowed, and he couldn’t quite read her expression beyond that.

“Not to go into too much detail, we met when we were both in some really bad places in our lives. And we both helped pull each other out of it. Now we’re just trying to figure out our new normal, y’know?”

Aqua nodded, “I guess I get it. I was just worried you were… using him, I guess.”

Purple couldn’t help but chuckle at that. It had really been the other way around, but he wasn’t gonna tell her that, “If I was using him, I sure wouldn’t have admitted it just because you asked. It’s nice that you’re worried about him though.”

“Just… be good to him. I’m sure he’s done some awful things while he was grieving, but he’s a decent man.”

“I know. Thanks for the answers, Aqua. See you later,” He stepped out the door and into the night, leaving Aqua tangled in her memories for the night.

Grace's birth mother, a woman named Deirdre Osbourne, worked at Ray Stantz's store as a stock girl before being promoted to cashier. Ray saw Deirdre as a surrogate daughter, especially as Deirdre supposedly grew up in foster care and began working with him at sixteen. Deirdre struggled with drug addiction (heroin), and Ray and his wife Willow continued to try to help her. After her twenty-first birthday, Deirdre disappeared, only to turn up three years later heavily pregnant. She named Ray and Willow as her baby's guardians, as the baby would have been immediately put in the system after birth due to her usage while pregnant. Just as it seemed that Deirdre would finally be able to regain custody of baby Grace, she died of an apparent overdose. When Grace was eighteen months old, Ray and Willow's adoption of her was finalized.

Her "gotcha day" is October 17th.

Due Date

Just got done trying to dry my hair while crying and it was not working very well. But when I'm feeling extra feels I come to this blog since helps me to digest all these big feelings that I would otherwise not know what to do with.

I didn't trust the due date I was given this time by professionals since last time was off by 2 and a half weeks. I also don't know my conception date or last period date (which tells me I need to be better about tracking that sort of thing), so I went by a third guess, a third google, and a third intuition. I guessed it was a Mothers Day conception... I googled "what is the date 40 weeks after Mothers Day 2023?"... and February 20th just 'felt right'. So here we are, one day before the professional's due date, and 13 days after mine. So I am looking up good crow recipes, since my friends and I were going back and forth about this for far too long, and I am going to have a turkey sized crow to eat after all this!

My period showed up immediately after I healed from Isaiah, which I thought was weird since I thought breast feeding would prevent my cycles more so. But my body was back to cycles around when Isaiah was 2 months old. This continued until around March or April of 2023.. All of a sudden my period just stopped happening. So Jeremiah and I would get temporarily freaked until we bought a cheap dollar store pregnancy test, heaved a sigh of relief that we werent pregnant, and went on with our day. But then another month went by and still no period would happen, and each month we went through our new cycle of "Are we pregnant again?", cheap pregnancy test, sigh of relief...

So in July, there was still no period, but this time I was feeling pregnant.. I could tell something was different and this time it could be a positive test.

So we went to the dollar store and 30 minutes after coming home I approached Jeremiah... He was on the kitchen floor doing something or fixing something... I forget what he was working on. But I handed him the test, knowing he didnt know how to read it. And then I handed him the instructions on the kit... And waited. After a couple moments studying these items, he heaved a sigh of relief and said, "So its negative right?" to which I said "Is it? Maybe look again Jeremiah"... He looked again and still thought it was a negative test. So I had to turn on the better light in the room and show him the faint line that he wasnt seeing.

Heres the test and I had to edit the contrast settings so the line was clearly visible...

Anyway, Jeremiah didnt want to believe me.. Kept saying I was seeing things,... I had to remind him of our conversation with one of the ladies at church... The first time we got pregnant we weren't sure if we could trust Isaiah's test/we thought we had to go to a doctor to verify for sure, but she kept attesting (ha! test! attest! get it?) that if the test was positive it was a positive. The next week we saw her she had brought in all 8 of her children's positive pregnancy tests, all varying different degrees of boldness of lines,-some were so faint I was shocked.

This pink test was Isaiah's test.. and as you can see Isaiah's line was bold as can be. Plus we knew the conception date since we were using a fertility tracker and really hoping to get pregnant.

So it took a couple days of us discussing for him to accept that there were two lines he was looking at. I think he was under the impression that a really faint line wasnt a positive, but I had to let him know that the test only shows a line if the growth hormone is present, and there wouldnt be any type of line if I wasnt pregnant. Growth hormone=pregnant.

So when his family came to celebrate Isaiah's first birthday on August 3rd, we wanted to share the news with them after Isaiah's festivities were over.

It was really funny, for Isaiah's reveal we were trying to put a "bun in the oven", but apparently Jeremiah's parents were using the oven at the time and so we didnt really have a recourse other than dropping hints. (I was wearing a maternity "I got you babe" shirt, plus we were saying how I shouldnt have caffeine all this, when Ruth and Sarah started screaming when they finally realized what we were getting at/it was hilarious)

This time we were enjoying the scenery in Peoria when suddenly I had to go to the bathroom really badly.. Which was a bit of a bummer since we hadnt been there long/ I think we wouldve stayed another half hour if given the opportunity. So we all had to load back into the cars and rush home. Yet I knew this also was my chance to get a bun in the oven this time.

So Jeremiah and I schemed that he would open the garage door and let me run inside (since I really did have to go use the restroom), and then I could set up the bun in the oven.

I think on someone else's phone they got a picture of the 'bun in the oven'. There was all this meat in these large disposable trays that the Joldes family had cooked that was in the oven, so I took out the meat and set that on our washer in the laundry room, and I put a figurine of a bunny (Thumper from Bambi) in an extra matching tray, with some other things weighing it down. I then covered the tray to match what the meat looked like. And it wasn't long until someone wanted to nibble on some meat (we would usually graze all day snacking on the tastiness), and they couldn't find any!

The lack of meat in the oven was quickly becoming an uproar, so I rushed to go get my "Sorry I lied, we actually are pregnant" card for Ruth, since she had mentioned something very slightly and I felt bad for misleading her... and I held onto it until the scene played out. The family was searching for the meat, while Jeremiah kept saying over and over very loudly, "WHY IS THERE A BUNNY IN THE OVEN",.. the whole thing was sooo funny! This was followed by screaming and eventually Tata came into the kitchen from what he thought was a good chance to get in a nap in the bedroom. There were hugs and tears, and Tata started with his usual "I knew she was pregnant" speech like last time. It was overall a very heartwarming moment.

Revisiting these memories have made me feel much better.

A part of me doesnt want to continue to blog. But a part of me feels like I must. As a woman who has been nesting full time, I am looking for anything that might be preventing the baby from being born to do.. My thoughts very much these days are, "maybe he doesnt want to come until I finish with all the laundry... and when I am done with all the chores my body will signal to the baby that the coast is clear, and labor will commence. "

Truly waiting on a baby to come is a bit crazy-making.

So now for the sad part of this post... other than the obvious... Jeremiah, and his whole family have vanished.

Other than that, Isaiah and I got 'into town' earlier than planned since I was having contractions for hours on Friday, Feb 23rd, only for them to cease after my neighbor came to the house (its truly awkward this guy was making me uncomfortable since he had been trying to let me know he's romantically interested in me, and I have been trying to let him know that I am sad about my husband please stop pursuing me), and the people I live with announced he was going to be the one to drive me 2 hours away-not them as planned. Contractions stopped, but my midwife suggested I get some sleep and drive myself when I was able.

It was actually fortunate that everything stopped since my car started shaking when I got on the road/ I pulled into a shop with the highest google review rating and learned my caliber was stuck causing my brand new tire to smoke. So they needed to change my brand new passenger brake, rotor, and caliber before they would deem me as safe to go anywhere. (I just got new tires, new brakes, fixed the front of the car, I have been NESTING and getting done with all the things!)

When I got here I pushed myself to get the car unloaded and get the house arranged since I was thinking the baby could come at any moment/that he was just waiting for me to get settled. People were texting me everyday for updates and here we are, a week later and zero more contractions.

So I drove up to Walmart to try to return an item I bought from their website (turns out some of the items are non-refundable if they are listed by a reseller/buyer beware-just cuz you're on Walmart's site doesn't mean it abides by Walmart's return policy). Now I am officially done with anything other than regular chores to do. I've written a will, set up life insurance, notarized the will, arranged for the boys' care if anything should happen to me, the bunnies are at my friend's rabbitry, taxes are filed, EVERYTHING has been done.

On the way back from Walmart I was flipping through cds in the car to listen to.. Recently I have been listening to a lot of my 17-21 year old Christian influences (which were few), and I finally got tired of listening to the Danielson Famile's Trying Hartz album, which is a feat in itself, since its so fun and random. I stumbled upon Daniel si Marcel's cd that I havent been listening to and thought it was good to pop that in, since it had made me so happy to hear before.. It brought up good memories with Jeremiah. And the baby needs oxytocin for contractions to get going so I thought it was worth the try.

Much to my surprise, this cd which was such a source of happiness before was starting to make me more and more sad. after about 15 minutes unbearably so. Before the cd had given me the feeling that Jeremiah was close by, and now its just alarmingly apparent he isnt close by. I cant stop thinking about Isaiahs birth, and how much of a help Jeremiah was during that. It was our marriage's mountaintop moment. I was having contractions for a few days, and in the last few hours Jeremiah really helped me carry through. I remember getting dizzy from the lights and the steam from the pool, and they adjusted the lighting, but Jeremiah kept asking me to lock my eyes with his so he could help me breathe through (I have a natural tendency to hold my breath). All I remember are his big beautiful blue eyes and his deep calm voice helping me through the impossible part of the labor. And after a couple more positions Isaiah was here in this world.

After my first checkup with the midwife back in September, she sent some pictures I had never seen before of this moment and I cried immediately since this was the memory that I most cherished of Jeremiah.

Tears again.

these moments were all before his confusion... before our discord... before his loss of self-control... before the bad times. We were still a team.

I'm trying to imagine what this birth will be like, in a new space and without Jeremiah.. We are in a beautiful cottage that has been designed to look like the 1940s, with pastel colors, old books, hymns framed, and pastoral paintings on the walls.

Plus there will be no Jeremiah, and a little Isaiah there. Some have said that hopefully Isaiah can sleep through the birth, which would be very nice. A very sweet older widow woman has offered to occupy Isaiah if he's awake during the birth, which was a relief since I've seen her with him before and they had fun together while we were packing up the house in Peoria.

I have been working on my playlist, since it was a huge help during Isaiah's birth... I am still going through it with a fine tooth comb-the last thing I need is something to be "off", or "throw me off", since it's hard not to feel like I will be going into this whole birth a little "off" already, as Job's dad wont be there physically.

Speaking of, I found an interesting fact about the name "Job".. The true meaning is up for debate, but I did find this one definition of Job that struck a chord within me:

So whether it means NO FATHER, or WHERE IS MY FATHER or HE WILL FATHERIZE it all seems very fitting. After Jeremiah died it was an automatic gut choice to pick the name "Job". I pray Job will look to God as his Father, and ultimately come to terms with the bittersweetness of who exactly his own biological father was ...with the help of a very firm Biblical worldview

With the baby taking his time to arrive, it's given me more time to dwell on things, and come to terms emotionally with where I am in my life and with this birth. I have been blocking out much of the pain to survive and put one foot in front of the other to get ready for this moment... Now I am here and I'm out of daily distractions, and yet its still hard to focus on the pain that I'm feeling from the loss of my best friend.

A couple verses come to mind while I try to sort out my feelings:

Isaiah 40:11; "He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

Matthew 5:8; 8 "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

James 4:8; "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."

Hebrews 12:1-2; "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Hebrews 12:14-15; "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled"

These verses to say, God will lead me gently through this birth... and that I might not be able to see Jeremiah's eyes, but maybe if I can clean out my heart I can see God,... and although he wont be with us physically, it is quite possible Jeremiah is compassed about us, as a cloudy witness to cheer us on to finish this race.

But since Lucas and Kumatora both have their own exclusive bracelets (something something, headcanon about PSI correlation, but this would be digressing), there's only one of these per game, and it's considered the ultimate arm armor out of all the options available, I've always kinda seen it as his "exclusive" bracelet. This is something we call ~artistic liberties~

Flint: July 3rd, making him a Cancer. Look, I know that technically the best bracelet he gets in his section of the game is the Aquarius Bracelet if memory serves, but I am pretending that the Aquarius Bracelet is his "ultimate" equipment only because he doesn't have access to anything better at that point in the story. Besides, he gives me the vibes of someone born around mid-summer rather than in the winter. Again, artistic liberties.

Hinawa: April 20th. She is right on the Aries/Taurus cusp, depending on who you ask. This is also Mother 3's release date :)

The Ateez members decided to throw a party to celebrate Seonghwa’s birthday, who was turning 23 (24 in Korean age). Of course, you were invited as well, but you couldn’t help the constant heartbeat you were experiencing ever since you stepped foot in their dorm.

You see, being friends with one of your favorite groups had its perks, one of them being the never-ending fun and chaos. But it can also have a lot of downsides - especially if you have a huge ass crush on the oldest member. But you truly couldn’t help it, simply because Park Seonghwa was mesmerizing: his warm almond eyes, his lithe physique and long legs, his smooth, golden skin, combined with his caring personality and powerful yet gentlemanly aura made your heart melt and your stomach fill with butterflies.

You weren’t in the house for a long time and you were already a bit overwhelmed by the loud, chaotic signature energy of your friends, so you decided to go outside in the balcony for a breather. The chilly breeze hit your face and you instantly felt somewhat rejuvenated. Your beer-filled cup was now half empty as you mindlessly stirred it within your hand. In a split second, you felt his soft lips moving against yours ferociously, his wet tongue slipping in your mouth, asserting his dominance. Regarding Vetto:

Elf  Vetto died 500 years ago in the elf massacre, he was 25-years-old and  stood at 195cm (6'5"). This is what I mean by "[1st]", as in his first  original body that he died in.

There  was apparently a human Vetto who stood at 196cm (6'5") who Elf Vetto  hijacked. So this is "[2nd]", as in his second body. Apparently he's  28-years-old at the time we meet this version of Vetto in the cave.

Then Yami kills the man at the end of the sea temple arc.

However  it turns out that Sally made a new clone body for him. This is "[3rd]"  as in his third body. This new body is physically 15 years old and  stands at a mere 166cm (5'5").

Regarding Patry:

Patry  died 500 years ago in the elf massacre, he was 15-years-old and stood  at 159cm (5'2.5"). This is what I mean by "[1st]", as in his first  original body that he died in.

He  awakens in William Vangeance. Years later, William grows up to be 172cm  (5'8"), so that's Patry's height too. That's "[2nd]", Patry's second  body.

However,  later on, it turns out an artificial body was made for original Licht,  who stood at 173cm (5'8") when he was alive 500 years ago. I don't know  if the new artificial body was that height, but it's one centimeter  taller than William, and Patry's soul got shoved into that new  artificial body courtesy of Rades so... yeah?

Gakushuus date of birth analysis

Hi hello there, winter break just ended for me and I'm busy with my studies (High school is kicking my ass) Anyways!

Today I would like to share my analysis on Gakushuu's birthday - of course I will be happy if you share your opinion on this topic in the comments! :) 🧡

I've been thinking about it for quite a long time, maybe a good few months lol but I didn't know exactly how to go about it.

However, recently as I was cutting out pictures of Gakushuu and Karma from manga panels, I noticed this one little detail:

Chapter 51: "The Son's Time" - page: 2

In the photo we see Gakushuu helping one student from the main school building; And here's the detail I wanted to talk about, which is the book he's holding.

On the cover of the book it says '２０１３ 年 版' which means "2013 edition" and under it it says '理 系 数学' meaning "science and mathematics". I found this book (or rather something very similar, or maybe even what I'm looking for) on the internet:

This is all for now, as much as for the book - but I decided to take a closer look at the details.

I searched for the exact release date of this manga:

from July 2, 2012 to March 25, 2016

Based off of this manga, an anime adaptation was created - the first volume of the manga went on sale on November 2, 2012 and the last volume on July 4, 2016.

Let's focus on volume 6 of the Assassination Classroom manga - it was released on October 6, 2015.

A panel with a photo of Gakushuu giving tutoring is included in this 2015 manga volume, and the photo shows the 2013 textbooks.

So after all these analyzes it could be concluded that the whole event would play out either in 2013 as the math book out of the photo shows it, or 2014-2015 according to the release date of the 6th part of this manga.

If we consider 2015, in this manga they study for the upcoming exams for (if I'm not mistaken) 2nd trimester.

1st trimester (April 8 - July 20)

Summer vacation (July 21 - August 31)

2nd trimester (September 1 - December 24)

Winter vacation (December 25 - January 7)

3rd trimester (January 8 - March 24)

Spring vacation (March 25 - 31, and April 1-7)

In Japan, students are age-matched to the following grades:

Yōchien (幼稚園, Nursery school) from 3 to 6 years old

Shōgakkō (小学, Elementary school) from 6 to 12 years old

Chūgakkō (中学, Middle School) from 12 to 15 years old

Kōkō (高校, High school) from 15 to 18 years old

Middle school lasts for 3 years, so by year 3 Gakushuu would be already 14-15 years old BUT since Gakushuu’s birthday's the 1st of January, that means he would turn (most likely) 15 during winter vacation.

So during the first trimester all the way to winter vacation he is still 14 years old.

So again, if we were to consider 2015 as the year in which all the action is played out, it would mean that this 2015 Gakushuu would be 14 years old, and by the new year 2016 he would be 15 years old. You could say that the book he was holding from the '2013 release' would have been already I think 2 years old?? by the time Gakushuu is tutoring other students. However, now I was wondering if Gakuho would go so far as to even provide the school with the latest editions of books ?? And the book he's holding is actually from the same year it all happens?

If so, then: If the action took place in the year 2013, then Gakushuu would be 14 years old - the year would end with winter vacation and Gakushuu would turn 15, the age at which he would also end Middle school.

It would turn out that if all of this took place in 2013 (considering 2014 as the year where Koro-Sensei gets assassinated in March) and Gakushuu would turn 15 in 2014,

then 01/01/1999 would be the year he was born in.

After writing all this, I myself am not really sure about my analyzes anymore... if there is anything to improve in my analysis that someone could correct, I would be very grateful! I'm sorry it was so long - and I hope it was somehow understandable because I already got confused.

I'll add a bonus here, I read somewhere that apparently Karma is older than Gakushuu (I mean well, he was born on December 25, so it would make sense if Karma already turned 15 in 2013, and in 2014 he would be 16 by the end of the year but he would be already in the first class of high school, which would place him in the same year as Gakushuu.

So it would mean that Karma was born in 1998/12/25????, not a whole week older than Gakushuu.

OKAY UPDATE...

I just remembered a scene from the 13th Manga, chapter 111: "Career Time" page 11-12

Karma is on the way to talk to Koro Sensei about his future dream job. At the very bottom of page 11, Karma is leaning against a chair and talking about a certain earthquake, "The great Kanto Earthquake" and there is a small note saying: "he just says earthquake, but he's probably referring to this one" and while looking through my to German translated Manga, it says there:

"Großes Erdbeben in der Region um Kobe am 17. Januar 1995" - meaning: "Great earthquake in the Kobe area on January 17, 1995"

Of course, this could just be an information Karma mentions to inform Koro-Sensei that the politicians in that situation were useless. However, on the next page (p. 12) we see a boy standing in front of some garage with a truck in it.

"But, the nation kept funtioning regardless, and it pretty much ran like normal, right? That things kept working during a state of emergency like that, even without politicians… I thought it was amazing that bureaucrats were throwing out ideas from the shadows like that"

He says 'I thought it was amazing' which can be perceived in two ways:

a) Karma was there when the earthquake strikes, and says he liked the way bureaucrats operated in this earthquake situation at that time;

or b) he is just saying that the situation with the earthquake and the behaviour of the bureaucrats in 1995 was fascinating to him.

As much as I like point a), this point b) tempts me a bit to analyse:

How would he possibly know how the bureaucrats operated in those days IF he was NOT born at that time? Of course, he could also find it at the present time during his middle school years, or he really was there, saw and heard everything about the earthquake.

This might be just a stupid theory, but the hair colours of the boy in this one scene is the same shade as Karma's, and the boy is young so maybe it was him? the three things that annoy me most about the writing of criminal minds are:

the quantico thing

almost everything even tangentially related to cat adams

the fact that none of the writers can do enough math to create a cohesive timeline, and keep the character’s ages consistent (let alone what they’ve accomplished being consistent with their ages)

like, rossi would have had to lie and say he was THREE YEARS OLDER than he was in order to enlist in the marines and serve in vietnam when he did but like its never addressed? hank was born in september bc there's apparently 6 months between derek and the sandman, but the eps all aired in MAY and that completely screws with the normal timeline unless you take the difference out between the storm and the crimson king and ignore that the storm apparently took place in may?? reid was drugged and arrested in february, but it apparently happened AFTER rossi’s birthday which is MAY 9TH??? lindsey vaughn was supposedly kidnapped in april, but the episode in which that happened aired in january and surrounding episodes are STATED to occur in january???? pay it forward takes place in august, but alchemy takes place around may or june and nanny dearest takes place in late april/early may????? in a place at the table, hotch says jack is in 5th grade but its spring 2015 and jack was born in october 2005 so he could only be in 4th grade (possibly even 3rd depending on if the school cutoff was september or december) and jack definitely didn't skip a grade?????? hotch has at least two canon ages (49 and 55) but one of them makes him a year younger than prentiss, which is impossible bc he worked for elizabeth before emily was in college??????? hotch in general is so screwed like he apparently did three years of law school (and his given graduation year of 1990 is off with BOTH ages), spent enough time as a lawyer to become a full fledged prosecutor, then quit and joined the fbi (somewhere in there he had to have either been working for the state department or been muscle for hire in order to be security for elizabeth prentiss), was in swat (presumably as a sniper) for a while, then was assigned to the seattle field office (apparently as a profiler?) for a while, THEN joined the bau, but this would've all have had to happen before 1997 bc he worked with rossi a lot before rossi retired????????
