I was probably 15-16 when these were done? I didn’t date anything back then but I know these were at least between 2007 and 2010. If I find time I might try doing some of these now and see how they differ from where I’m at now.

#apovember day 19: This pic comes with a sappy story, get ready 😂 I like this one because it makes me think of the time my dad took one look at this and decided to tell me there and then all about how my work is "so amazing he could cry" and how proud I should be. I don't recall hearing his opinions on my art ever before that, and he's not a soppy idiot like me so I know he wouldn't say it unless he really meant it. #apovember day 23: 3 years ago today, the guys got their Shadowmakers books. Since today's Apovember pic is of Eicca, let me tell you about a memory from that night that still fucks me up to think about. Of course I'll never forget any of the praise the guys gave that week, but there was one thing I couldn't have predicted in a million years. After the guys were done signing personal copies for Larissa and I, Eicca handed back his book and said "now you must write in mine", and I think I spent about 1027 years staring blankly at the page trying to comprehend what he was asking. "You mean like, sign it?" I replied, and he said yes. I was so shocked I forgot how to write... I hope he likes the wobbly mess I handed back 😂 Even now I can’t believe he did that. What an encouraging, wholesome marshmallow 💜 And yeah, that's the story about the time my fav artist asked for my autograph! #apovember day 4: I’m a little embarrassed to share this one where a lot of new people can see it, but it played an important part in my life and not just art, so 😃 Once upon a time, myself and some friends met Apocalyptica for the first time. I could go on all day about that night, but there was one thing specifically that inspired this drawing. I had absolutely no control over my emotions back then, so unfortunately once I got to meet Eicca, I just straight up cried, right after one of my friends got emotional too. Awkward. I could have been so embarrassed, except he dealt with it in his usual fashion – Cuddle the fan to death :’D Little to his knowledge (and here’s the depressing part of the story), it meant a great deal more to me than just “a hug from that guy in the band I’m obsessed with”. I couldn’t cope in school, I hated it and 99.99% of the teachers didn’t care that I was depressed, so I gave up and fell through the cracks. I spent my last months at school working on this instead of studying. I remember dropping lessons and sitting alone in empty classrooms, drawing all the lines on the wings and counting down the days ‘til I could leave and never come back. I guess this drawing was my slightly dramatic way of saying that I once met a guy who gave an emotionally exhausted kid’s shitty feelings more patience and validation than pretty much anyone else at the time, even though he didn’t even know me. And that’s pretty fucking angel-like. "Everybody needs good hugs" he has said to me over the years. #apovember day 17: So, another "inspired by" post today. There was a scene during Wagner Reloaded where Apocalyptica were playing inside the jaws of a motherfucking dragon, and you can imagine how I reacted when I saw the magnificent bastard crawl out of the stage on opening night. My wildest dreams had come true, Apo AND a dragon!! 😍😍 As soon as I got back from Germany, I desperately wanted to get something like this out of my head, but I HATED the final result. I tried again, and that failed too. I never even shared that one. And I’ve been dreaming about trying again ever since. But looking through my old stuff for Apovember got me curious to see if I could tweak this in photoshop, and I’m more satisfied with it now.
