as an avid listener to WAYY to many podcasts id like to go over a less popular podcast that i actually quite enjoy
WitherBurn After School News
for those unfamiliar, WitherBurn is a podcast about an after school news station. (made after the forced closing of the WitherBurn School newspaper) hosted by a person we only know as 'The Reporter' they report on everything interesting going on in the town of WitherBurn and some of the oddities going on in the town.
now as per usual here's my humble opinion on this interesting podcast,
WitherBurn has similar vibes to some of the more popular audio podcasts, i really enjoy the way it tells its story's, WitherBurn feels like it could be a real radio show with a teenage reporter. seeing as the reporter actually shows biased on things unlike a more professional radio shows that just report and try to keep they're opinions out of it. the show has even made me feel very chilled after listening to some of the episodes
to end this post i recommend you all go listen to WitherBurn, i know the creators of this interestingly awesome podcast would appreciate more support.
as always if you are interested in more podcasts like this please go check out my review masterlist!
anyway that's all i have to say!

I've never been a huge fan of watching tv shows or reading, Moreso a fan of listening, SO when i found out there's a podcast called
Sherlock & CO.
now I'm always hesitant to write things about podcasts i haven't fully caught up on BUT I'm happy to say this podcast is an exception to that (as will be a few other excruciatingly long podcasts)
this podcast is very reminiscence of the classic Sherlock Holmes beside the fact that its shown as a podcast in universe run by Watson (this in universe character has a tumblr blog too run by the character that ill link here)
either way onto my opinion, i really enjoy this podcast a lot, and as someone who's never read sherlock or watched a sherlock movie before listening to this. i really think it does a good job of keeping you interested in the story without dragging things on too much, plus Watson is an socially awkward podcaster who somehow doesn't know how to stop a recording at the right time,
(although i will warn any new listeners that the episodes are cut up into two to three part chunks, each part being posted weekly)
quickly adding this before posting but i did end up watching the RDJ version and i still like this podcast more
overall sherlock and co is a good modern rehashing of a classic story, and it doesn't break off from the original to an extreme degree,
if you haven't already started listening to it i recommend you do and always I'm going to link the masterlist of all the podcasts I've 'reviewed' so far

its been a hot minute since I've written one of my little blurbs on here, I'm gonna be real, i haven't really listened to a new podcast in a minute. BUT over the past few days I've been listening to a new podcast called..
in strange woods: a musical podcast
now you may ask me 'rat, a musical podcast?' yes dear reader! a musical podcast!
in strange woods only has five episodes, even with so little episodes it tells its story well. all the music in this podcast is wonderful (some of it is definitely going on some of my playlists) the whole podcast is somewhat bittersweet with its writing, it tells a story of grief and tragedy in a very astounding way for a podcast, i know i normally would give you guys a little description of the things i write about here but this podcast I'm not sure if i can do it justice.
with this podcast specifically I'm itching to talk to you about the music in this podcast because its all amazingly produced, in classical musical fashion the songs are obviously about what's happening in the podcast but all of the instrumentals of this podcast are done so beautifully and the vocals are so strong, all of the characters different voices suit this podcast so wonderfully packed full of story i just cant help but gush about it!
either way i think i should wrap this up here instead of going on about the background details, please go check out this podcast! its honestly brilliant! and as always feel free to go check out my masterlist

as a person who almost obsessively listens to fiction podcasts i cant help but desperately want some more horror fiction stuff, so i have some ideas to run past you
"but rat! you only post about podcasts you listen to on this blog!" you cry! and to that i say dear reader, i do what i damn well please. plus ill be honest with you, some of the podcasts I've already posted about are so long i most likely wont be posting about more UNLESS i really enjoy them
now, hear me out, i have a few ideas:
an SCP 3008 podcast about living in the ikea
a backrooms podcast about surviving in the backrooms
a SCP podcast revolving around a specific site that houses more then one SCP, always dealing with issues (when i say this i would expect reseach about each site and what they hold before deciding on a site to have this take place in)
unfortunately those are all the ideas i currently have BUT if i think of anything else ill either reblog this to add onto it OR just edit the post
I'm also adding on the small disclaimer that I'm very dyslexic so if you ever see typos don't mind those! and if you would like to read some of the actual reviews i have on this blog please go check out my masterlist

I've been a huge fan of the SCP Foundation for YEARS so when i found a story driven podcast about an SCP facility i humbly bring you dear user...
FIND US ALIVE
now I'm going to assume you don't know what this podcast is (cause its not the most popular of podcasts)
FIND US ALIVE is an SCP podcast revolving around an incident involving an SCP, trapping all of the researchers in the facility. we get to see the researchers and other personnel trying to figure out how to get out of the facility
this podcast is one of my favorites, i really enjoy how it tells its story and how it keeps you interested with how all of the staff act. i really wish there were more podcasts like this one, i don't think there are enough SCP podcasts like this one around. literally all of the other podcasts regarding the SCP foundation they just repeat SCP entries aloud.
i might just be biased and picky with my podcasts tho-
anyway as per usual if you want to find more podcasts i have a review masterlist of all of the podcasts live listened to and reviewed

here's my small review on...
The Magnus Archives (TMA if you will)
for all of those unaware of The Magnus Archives (fair warning i may ramble here)
it's a horror podcast revolving around an archive in complete shambles, due to the fact the last archivist refused to sort any of the files. in the beginning we meet our new archivist who has just taken over the archives, he finds that some of the files he's trying to digitize are corrupting. thus he records them on cassette tapes (through the series we only hear what's on the tapes, none of the digital recordings are ever shown) i feel like that's all i can say without spoiling anything!
now onto my opinion/review of TMA
TMA is a pretty scary podcast, featuring petrifyingly paranormal and the chaotically chilling story's being told in a very nice format. it even gives us little insights into the workers in the institute as the podcast went on. it really makes you scared of the things that go bump in the night, TMA immerses you in each episode with its music and sound effects. if you want to get into audio fiction and are having a hard time getting into it i recommend listening to TMA since the beginning doesn't chuck you into a story like some other podcasts do,
overall id say TMA is a good podcast that isn't too hard to follow, please do give it a chance if horror is your thing!
if your interested in finding more audio fiction like TMA i have a masterlist I'm going to try to add to for podcasts i enjoy

Hello fellow tumblr users!!! (and presumably fiction-podcast enjoyers)
i thought id introduce myself on this blog before i start posting to it,
I'm Rat, a trans-masc podcast enjoyer! now normally ill write out little podcast reviews for myself and i don't expect anyone on here to actually read anything i post to this blog, but I'm still going to post to this blog as a way to put my opinions on big and small podcasts out there. (i also may take podcast suggestions if this blog gains any traction which i doubt)
if your interested in seeing all of my posts so far on podcasts heres my sort of review masterlist (hopefully i continue to link things to that instead of forgetting)
