Is the Limousine Company you use accredited by the BBB, and what is their rating?

Did you know that we have an A+ BBB rating? Did you know Extreme Class Limousines has never had a complaint made against our company with the BBB? Follow the link above to check out our profile with the Better Business Bureau on their site.

This cannot be said by most of the other transportation companies in the greater Toledo area. Please remember, just because the city uses a company, or a hotel is suggesting it, that DOES NOT mean they are BBB accredited business, look into the background of ANY vehicle you get into before you ride.

Are you aware that some limousine and transportation companies working in the Toledo area have had some serious malfunctions on their vehicles in the past? Look it up online, Check out Toledo Ohio Limousine Fire. The company featured in that video sill operates in the city and is still NOT accredited or ranked by the BBB yet hundreds of you continue to still step foot in the vehicles. Are you even aware of the risks?! 

Take the time to research the company you are booking to transport you, your loved ones, or your employees. Here are some red flags you should look for when you book any company for transportation....

1.) Does the business have an actual website?  No? What could this mean?

-Websites can be made for virtually nothing in today’s technologically advanced world. If the transportation provider you are thinking about using DOES NOT have an actual website you need to research them further. Lots of individuals try to earn extra money using their own personal cars and advertising them on sites like Facebook, Craigslist, and Instagram. Most of the time if an individual or business is claiming to be a transportation provider but they DO NOT have an actual website, this is because they do not carry the proper licencing, registration and/or insurance to legally be operating. Always ask for a USDOT number for the business in this case. Just because they do not have a website, that does not necessarily mean they are not a legitimate business. This can go both ways though, just because the do have a website, does not mean they are a legitimate business.

2.) Can you find the business you are looking at on the Better Business Bureau’s website? Do you find multiple entries for them in your area there? What could this mean?

- There could be many reasons that a Business cannot be found, recognized, or accredited by the BBB. Their website states .... “Not every business is eligible for BBB Accreditation. Businesses must meet, commit to and maintain the BBB Accreditation Standards (Accreditation Standards) in order to be eligible for and maintain BBB Accreditation. The BBB Accreditation Standards represents sound advertising, selling and customer service practices that enhance customer trust and confidence in business. The Code is built on the BBB Standards for Trust, eight principles that summarize important elements of creating and maintaining trust in business.In order to be eligible for Accreditation a business must complete an Accreditation application.Upon receipt of a fully completed BBB Application for Accreditation, BBB staff: Reviews the application Researches the business and its principals; Verifies the information presented in the application; May request additional information; May request proof of specific information on the application. After the review and verification process, BBB will then evaluate if the business meets the BBB Accreditation Standards (Accreditation Standards). Once BBB has finished its evaluation, the application for BBB Accreditation is either approved or denied. If the applicant is found in compliance with the BBB Accreditation Standards it will be presented to the BBB Board of Directors, or a committee of that board, for final approval. If the application is denied, BBB will contact the applicant, indicating the BBB Standard(s) that were not met and any recourse available to the applicant.”

It could also mean that the business is avoiding being registered with them due to outstanding complaints lodged against them, they do not have the proper business licence for the company they are claiming to be, or a variety of other things.

3.) Did you know that any vehicle you get inside should always have a USDOT number and the business’s name on it? 

- This means that the company and vehicle are properly registered and regulated by the United States Department of Transportation. IF THEY CANNOT PROVIDE YOU WITH A USDOT NUMBER DO NOT GET IN THE VEHICLE!

4.) We are not talking about UBER or LYFT vehicles... there are so many more reasons than theses alone you should NEVER get into an UBER or LYFT car. We will be posting a blog about that in the near future.

5.) When booking large vehicles, over 10 passengers, for specials events or group transportation you should know what to look for on those vehicles as well. Do you?

-  On vehicles over 10 passengers you need to look for the OHIO STATE TROOPER INSPECTION Sticker. These need to be displayed on all commercial vehicles over a certain size. If it does not have a sticker, do not get on it!

- On vehicles over 14 passengers the driver must carry a CDL licence to operate the vehicle. Never hesitate to ask a driver before getting on a vehicle to see for yourself their CDL endorsement on their licence. It could save your life!

Whether you choose to book your transportation with our company or someone else, we want you to be informed of things you may not realize about the industry. Before you book transportation for any event you should always make sure the vehicle you will be getting into is owned and operated by a Business you can check out online with the BBB, it is properly regulated and has a USDOT number. Do not forget to also look for those OHIO STATE TROOPER INSPECTION Stickers on large vehicles.
