I desire fanfics out there where the government specifically targets the micronations cause they aren't nations but they aren't people either. Also, it would make more sense cause you'd notice a nation go missing pretty fast vs if a micronation goes missing. Only other micronations or people in close/constant contact with that micronation will notice their disappearance and even then, would any of the nations actually care? Probably not lol You have the perfect test subjects. They are so much different from their nation counterpart too like, what do you mean you're a man-made fort in the middle of the ocean? What do you mean you spawned from a driveway dispute?

NIKO NIKO WOULD BE SUCH A TARGET BECAUSE OF HOW HE WAS A HUMAN THAT BECAME A MICRONATION BEFORE GIVING UP HIS NATION STATUS AND BECOMING HUMAN AGAIN It gives the government or scientists more wiggle room to try to create their own micronations or even become some for the sake of immortality and whatever. Then they can work on going after the nations from there.

Anyways, Blue and I are going feral over this and working on our own AUs that deal with this in a sense <3

i was thinking about mr nikoniko again and i just realized how horrific his situation really was.

he was a normal human middle schooler, like 13/14/15 years old during 1982, around the time he became a nation. however, nikoniko republic only integrated back to japan in 2006.

so he has been a teenager for 24 years.

again, i'll remind you, he had a normal human family, human friends. he didn't even know he would stop aging once he became a nation.

imagine watching your friends move onto highschool, graduate, go to college, start their own families, watching your parents' hair turn gray and earn more wrinkles on your faces. meanwhile you are trapped in the body of your 13 year old self.

i wouldn't be surprised if nation business forced him out of school either.

also, remember that nikoniko halloween strip posted in 2013? the same one where they revealed he already had a son? ok so when you take into account that it takes place 7 years after nikoniko republic's dissolution...

he'd be 22 years old at most.

of course, himaruya never revealed this kid's age. it could've been a 1 year old, 2 year old, but still... isn't it too early to be having children in your early 20s?

i wonder if nikoniko's decision to have a kid that young is due to the pressure of catching up with his peers. all of his friends from middle school at this point would already be in their early 40s, and i don't doubt that a lot of them already had families.

there is probably also the pressure of giving his parents a grandchild, and i dunno maybe he just feels guilty about how his becoming of a nation essentially let them down. who knows, maybe his parents had great expectations for him, wanted him to go to college and get a good job. but with his nationhood potentially disrupting his education, the best he could do was a job at dakeonsen.

anyways yeah, i think you get my point........

Ok so, I'm starting requests for fanart, head canons, and incorrect quotes. For incorrect quotes you can ask as many or as little characters you want.

Hi so I’m the name anon and I just wanted to say that. Yeah of course that doesn’t apply to the Racism that is KC and Nekoette, but also. I wasn’t sending that confession as a writer. As a writer, yeah I understand changing names. Aphmau is weird and Minecraft roleplays are cringe change things to be socially acceptable and Garroth shouldn’t be running around with his real name etc etc. I see all those things and reasons, but I sent the confession as a reader.

And as a reader I find harsh name changes disorienting and that they can make a fic difficult to read, especially with something like MCD where these characters can have little to nothing that makes them truky distinct beyond hair/eye color, a major detail, and their name. And you can really see that in the vastly different ways people view a character. All that paired with one of the things that makes fics pretty cool, not needing to build things up and explain who the characters are or what they look like, lends itself pretty badly to a name change because it leads to me trying to figure out who this character actually is instead of really reading the fic

But at the end of the day, it’s just my opinion and I knew it wouldn’t be wholly agreed with, and that’s why I sent it to a confessions blog

Abd also, I do personalize my experience, however in a fandom this small personalizing your experience comes at the steep cost of even being able to have an experience at all. And I don’t ship Garrance so I’m pretty dead in the water fic wise already lmao, so I do my best to keep my options open and the fact that is a real dealbreaker really does just show how disorienting I think it is.

Anyway, I sent this to you because I feel like you missed my point and I hate my point being missed. I wasn’t a writer saying “Under no circumstances should names ever be changed there is no reason” I was a reader saying, no matter the bountiful valid reasons that can be as small as I wanted to, I find name changes in fics extremely disorienting and hard to read

Oh anon no no I completely understood you lmao, I was just chiming in with a viewpoint from someone who did change a few characters names - not responding negatively or bashing on the confession or opinion.

I do completely understand, and even agree with you entirely. Which is why I keep my own name swaps similar to canon, for example Nekoette became Niko, and of course our main girl Aphmau became Aphrodite - still "Aph"

I get it, and I've actually put down a few fics for confusing changes and non direct descriptions of things, because I have some processing issues and get lost. It is disorienting, which is why curating experiences with what you enjoy is important not only for us as readers, but also so writers don't feel upset or pressured to change their craft based on said feedback.

Not saying that's an outcome of your confession ask, but it's a fair point to keep in mind eh? You brought up an opinion and now in this ask you bring up amazing points and very very true statements!! Like?? Honestly anon I actually think you're super cool and wish you the best with finding aphblr content that suits what you're interested in 🩵

Truly I wasn't saying anything in response to how you feel about it anon. My intent was only to explain my own changes for my own readers, the few of them lol, - and also to, again, bring up the absolute weirdness that Jess created with KC and her daughter because really i'll never be over "kawaii~chan" being called for CLASS ATTENDANCE IN PDH BRO.. like it's her full and LEGAL NAME that destroys me lmfao

This fandom is tiny, and it is hard to find specific things around here, but hey! If you can't find what you like, there's always the option to create things for pure self indulgence right? Nothing works better than creating for yourself, its why I have this blog actually!! Lack of danvis content made me start creating some out of playful spite :D

Plot post because I may as well get this account revived.

In this AU, the art trio (Kris, Audrey and Erland) all got an apartment together since it was cheaper than on campus living. Peter wanted to get out of the house, so the others agreed to let him move in with them.

It’s only a three bedroom apartment, so sometimes things get a little cramped. Peter stays in Kris’s old room since they mainly used it as a studio and hardly slept there in the first place.

They’re still friends with the older micronations. They know Jake because he’s Audrey’s older brother, and Romeo because Kris’s family is close with the Vargas family. The only one who was really new to their group was Morro, who’s one of Jake’s friends from highschool.

Nikoniko and TRNC also exist in this universe—I just need to figure out human names for them. TRNC is friends with Audrey, and Nikoniko knows the group through Peter and Romeo.

if nikoniko's son was a toddler back in 2013 (1-3 y/o), he would probably be in junior high school right around now, so heres what i imagine he would look like today!

(i blacked out his surname cus idk what nikoniko's surname is. my personal headcanon for why nikoniko's name hasn't been revealed is because he wants to lead a completely private life and doesn't want his human name publicized and attached to the identity of nikoniko)

i think he would have a chuuni-like nerd personality and genuinely believes that he could become a country if he tried hard enough. cause i guess that just runs in the family, i guess?

since his dad worked at dakeonsen after becoming human, i feel like he would've lived there for the first half of his life. there's an elementary school there too, so very convenient for mr. nikoniko! and cus of that he has developed a strange sense of patriotism for dakeonsen, and in turn, the nikoniko republic (some would say that he has more patriotism for nikoniko than he does for japan lol)

i like to think his dad never told him that he was the representation of the nikoniko republic, mainly because he didn't want to entertain his son's pursuit of nationhood considering all the things he went through during it (not aging, getting sick 'cus of the economy).

i also like to think that while he doesnt know who the personification of nikoniko republic was, he sees them as a sort of role-model and someone he aspires to be anyways. :D
