Finished mapping my twin laptop setup today. #bedroomdj #djing #djsetup #djgram @djgramofficial #controllerism #music #performance #midi #nativeinstruments #ableton #traktor #apcmini #xone #osc ---Non-Controllerism Nerds read no further --- Technical details: The APC (Ableton Performance Controller) is controlling everything BUT Ableton XD, the tablet OSC program handles Ableton while the Xone and the APC are hooked to Traktor (which is the main playing platform). Now I have to figure out the audio routing. Need to somehow run the Ableton audio through the Xone. I haven't even linked the clocks of both the programs yet (thinking of the Xone xlink cable) so there's still work to be done.

January 24th

Today I built on yesterday's piece and continued to work on using vocals as an instrument in my work as holly Herndon does. 

I watched a video how to use work with the samples on Ableton   and different trigger effects such as either setting them to a specific timing to come in or put it as none and the sample triggers exactly when the corresponding button is pressed.

I watched another video on vocal sampling and spent most of the hour working on creating little melodies with my vocals by putting them into a sampler and playing them like an instrument.

I recorded all parts of one of my songs and left out the main vocals. i recorded the BV’S and Guitar then sung the main vocals at the same time as 

Achieved Goals?:

- added texture to the piece as planned using vocal samples                               - synth not created as working with vocals and not synthesis. Synthesis to be covered when studying a different artist.

Struggles:

- Performing parts in sync and in order 

Successes:

- Sampling voice as an instrument - Getting good at performing with AKAI APCMini - Singing at the same time as using the APC Mini

Tomorrow Goals:

Do more experimental things with the vocals to create more unique and different textures. Use new processes.
